Quality Sprinklers (3x3 around the sprinkler) is where it gets effective

What level is your foraging skill? If you can craft Winter Seeds, Winter Seeds > Plant > Convert to Winter Seeds > Plant is a good way to get some money moving

But also there's mining, getting your tools upgrade or selling the ingots, fishing for money

Plenty of Forage, and if you've completed the little cutscene/quest that appears on Winter 2, you can start working on those while mining

There were some much older ways to trick the RNG that have been mostly patched out (Clay farming, or generating an early mushroom floor in the caves and just running it hundreds of times)

Take lots of food (Or forage with decent +health) and just keep going

Alternatively, grind the skeletons from 70-79 until one gives you a Bone Sword

Bone Sword is more damage and significantly faster to swing

I think that is technically a questline bc it tells you what you can do but you don't have to do those thing if you really don't want to but it is helpful advancing in the game that I know of

I wouldn't know what button it would be for ps/PC/Nintendo but I imagine it would be something similar like their various select button for console maybe left click for PC? Idk just like to try to be helpful :D

Early on you can use some of the forageables you find. Days 15-18 you can forage salmonberries in the bushes around the map which are very good. When you get a barn you can make cheese and that's one of the best foods

Some bushes in spring 15-28 had berries, you click bushes, they drop a berry. they sell for almost nothing, 5g, but good energy. || if you get foraging 4 , you get 2 salmonberries each bush, and you spend the last half of spring rotating the map everyday for 40ish berries each. higher foraging gets you 3ish. its enough energy regen to hold you over nonstop til fall ||

They make HUGE profit and if you can get some, do it, they are expensive though, and you want them right away because they persist. they give alot each, they are good for kegs and jars, and makes good backup energy

No1 can make enough pumpkins for jars/kegs lol. I made alot of hops early on as a min/maxer. I just ran out of hops at the end of fall and im now using cranberries i saved. they are great for it

i got like 25 kegs alrdy in year 1 winter, ran out of hops, and using what i can, got 8 jars and using anything i got left for them

The thing about berries is that you get a lot and they have a very low base value, so they're good for quick cash by selling raw.
Pumpkins have a high base value so they increase a lot with processing. Early on you're not gonna have a lot of processing machines like in y1, so if you grow enough pumpkins you'll be processing throughout winter
