first of all welcome! second i would say take the game at your own peace. third i would recommend youtube guides very helpfull.

First you just gotta clear out a cute area to plant your starting parsnip, i recommend standard farm for first playthrough

After that you can go meet all the villagers

And on the 2nd day you'll get a fishing rod and you can fish for money

If ur free you can go explore the maps and forage stuff to eat for energy (foraging is picking stuff off the ground)

Chop some trees for a chest to store your stuff

That brings me to question 2 - is this real time like ACNH or is there like a separate in-game clock

i'd say the first things to do first day is hoe the dirt, plant the parsnip, watering them, and spend the rest of your energy chopping trees

A season has 28 days so seasonal crops will die once they are not in season anymore so be careful

Crows can eat your crops so once you get the first farming level you should make a scarecrow
