Different minerals have different uses. Keep a hold of earth crystals, quartz/fire quartz, rubies, jade, diamonds and maybe a bit of amethyst

In the first month, to get a really good headstart, buy all the parsnips you can with your initial money then buy potatoes, then get all the strawberry from the first event, which planted with fertilizers will get you a hefty 8k+

Make a chest as soon as possible. Clear the forest of debris so forage can spawn. Don't forget the spring onions at the bottom of the forest. The mines will get less scary and fishing will get easier. Don't let the NPCs see you picking through trash. The horse is worth it
