If you want to farm slimes you can stick to the early levels of the mines where you basically one shot them with upgraded weapons you get from lower levels in the mines. The ones in the secret woods are pretty weak too

It's value is from the fact that it is incredibly fast. Keg products take soooooo looooong to process but everything in a ||dehydrator|| takes a day. However it takes 5 of a ingredient to use where as kegs and preserves only take 1 ingredient. ||Raisins|| have a great use late game.
