Fishing is a good idea for making quick cash while having to wait on crop growth. Summer is especially good if you can catch most of the ocean fish. Could also alternate to pushing further down in the mines or leveling foraging, etc.

Hoarding can be good, but ideally you should be selling your crops so you can reinvest into more crops for the next season as well as tool upgrades and building upgrades. Hoarding crops can be okay if you're intending to process them soon though such as through kegs or preserves jars.

When you're looking at whether to keep produce, you generally sell them Y1 unless one or more of the following apply:

1. They are gold quality and are loved gift items for one or more NPCs
2. They can provide potentially greater returns when processed into artisan goods (i.e. hops and wheat sell for way more when processed into pale ale and beer, respectively), and you have enough processing slots to accommodate them all. For instance, blueberries are a great candidate for processing in kegs or preserve jars, but you usually get so many of them that you should just sell the excess.

There are a lot of great candidates! Upgrading either your pickaxe or axe to bronze is always a possibility. Another option is tappers, particularly on oak trees. Getting a steady trickle of oak resin will be invaluable towards the mid- to end of Y1.

I think watering can is a personal preference though, especially if you like to invest in sprinklers very early, it loses a lot of value to me because of it. I still upgrade it before the hoe though, lmao.

Steel watering can saved me from not having energy all day, now that I have normal sprinklers I save lots more, water can is a smart investment, just that you lose 2 days, luckily both days rained for me

Yeah, it's down to how you're playing, hence why I said it's personal preference. In the future to make it a safer investment, if you see the weather says it's going to rain tomorrow, you can upgrade the watering can after watering for the day and it'll be ready on the day after the rain with no loss of watering that way.

Eating food that has energy value on it. Forageables you find in the forest and around the town can be eaten, the same as fish and other things. You can also buy food or cook specific food later.

Blueberries are your better option for preserves as they have the same value when kegged. Melons I would for sure keg and strawberries you could do either with.

Floor 21 is probably your best bet, just keep resetting the floor by entering, clearing copper, then leaving and going back via elevator.
