so if you have eg. five rods, you'll consistently fill all five during a thunderstorm

and also consistently lose crops to the sixth lightning bolt

if you have twenty rods, you'll consistently have empty rods after a thunderstorm, but your crops will usually be safe

Usually to get artisan goods, you will need to process materials somehow. Eg: Put egg into a mayonaise machine to make mayo, use milk in a cheese press to get cheese, use fruits in a keg to get wine, etc. etc.

Nope. The price of goods sold through the shipping bin and through NPCs are the same. The only difference is that goods in the shipping bin get sold overnight, meaning you get your money tomorrow. Selling to NPCs means you get the money now. Keep in mind that not every NPC will accept what you're selling. Eg: Willy only buys fishing related stuff
