You can grow Winter Seeds though. For the first 6 days, run around collecting forage (you need to hoe for Winter Roots and Yam), then on the 7th turn them all into seeds (donate 1 of each to CC if you're doing that)

The forage seeds take 7 days to grow, which I why I recommend just spending the first 6 days getting forage for seeds. Then you plant on the 7th and get 3 harvests total.
