Eh not really, at least not if you’ve gotten a burglar ring. Certain monsters have inherent chances to drop shards, even some in the basic mines. This can be rerolled with burglar unlike the floor 120 chance. Some shadow monsters like shadow brutes with a burglar ring on will have a practical chance of about 1/667 chance for a shard opposed to a 1/2000

Ok so there is this thing called clay farming. Go to the beach and hoe one spot then pickaxe it. Repeat until you get clay. Once you get clay hoe the spot 1 up and 2 to the right of the original spot. Repeat this pattern 4 more times (six times total).

While other fruit can be used, the main argument against that is the bundle which uses them (artisan) has a lot of other options.
The only fruit you NEED for the CC is 1 pomegranate, and 3 apples.
