The whole point is it's your game play and probably first time playing through so you're still learning. You can always create another farm save later with your new game knowledge and be more efficient than you previously were if that's what you want out of the game. Or you can take 100 years to perfect your farm to your liking, it's a sand box with some quests and objectives to try out different things in the game.

The fish populate up to their max allowance and then require a quest item to increase their max population. Example: You put in a Lava eel and the population is 1/1, they'll need a quest to then increase the population to 1/3. The fish then populate up to 3/3 on their own or with you adding more fish yourself to increase the speed. After so many days the fish will then ask for another quest item to increase population up to 3/5 and continue the cycle until they hit 10/10 population in the pond.

If you own a Silo and it has room, you scythe grass (with your scythe) to turn it into hay in the Silo. You can also add Hay directly into the Silo say if you bought it from Marni's. You pull Hay out via the feeding outlet in a barn or coop to then add to the feeding area. Weeds cant be used as Hay and the Silo also doesn't have to be right against your barn or coop, it can be on the completely opposite side of the farm if you want.

It's better to let animals outside to eat because they will have a better chance at being in best mood when eating outside. You can scythe extra grass that's far away from where they're eating or outside of their enclosure to get extra hay into your silo.

It's possible if you purchased them on different days that the 2 other chickens aren't adults yet (if they're still small yellow chicks). The other option is that they didn't get fed which when petting them they'll display a different icon than a heart to show they're not happy. If not fed they don't lay eggs.

Blue berries take 13ish days to get to maturity without any extra modifiers and then produce 4 harvests in total in summer that way. You get 3 (sometimes more) berries from each crop harvested. Melons are single harvest and require replanting for only 2 crops a year. If you don't do anything to them such as putting them into kegs for wine with melons or making jam with blue berries, then blue berries come out as more gold/day.

Fruits when turned into wine get their base price x3 when turned into wine via keg, but it takes 7 days. Jars make things either into jelly or pickles depending on what it is and get 2x their value +50 gold added and take 2-3 days to process. It usually comes down to the price of the crop and how much of it you have. Expensive based priced fruits/vegetables (example: pumpkins) get a lot of value from being kegged, cheaper crops get jarred because it's faster and they may be worth more as pickles or jam compared to being wine. Melons would be 550g per as jam vs 750g per as wine. Apologies for the long explaination x).

Depending on the fish types used they can give specific items that people might want. example: Blobfish give roe normally that sells for a decent amount, but they have a lower % chance to give || pearls || or || Warp totems||. Sometimes people aren't sure who they want to marry, or forget/ don't know that it's even a part of the game. Some NPCs are easier to romance than others to in terms of gifts you have available in your play through too so it will take longer.

The CC completion route is good because it gets you to try all aspects of the game to help finish it, but there's no time limit on actually finishing it so it just sets a goal to work towards.
