But fiberglass can use bait, and iridium can use bait and tackle/bobbers

The only physical differences between the fishing rods is the ability for bait/bobbers and the fishing treasure chest pool. The only rod with a bigger fishing bar is the training rod which is fixed at fishing level 5-sized.

It's best that they do get out, they need fresh air and will eat any grass around outside so you don't need to feed them hay so much. They should head back to the coop around 5-6pm or so, then you can close the door to keep them in overnight and stop them escaping in the morning.
