Beach farm is a challenge for newer players. Upgrade your watering can if you wanna plant crops close to your house, because you have to water everything yourself (sprinklers don't work in the sand)

I'm definitely not the best person to give 'most efficiently' advice. But I can tell you that the game has no deadlines. You can play it entirely at your own pace and not be penalized.

Focusing on completing the CC is pretty good goal. As you work through it, you'll unlock a ton of stuff.

No list, but my advice is to watch the TV every morning before you leave the house. It will give you game tips and recipes. When it tells you salmonberry season has started, go out every day they are in season (Spring 15-18) and pick them from the bushes with pink dots on them, which can be found on every map except the farm and the beach.
Salmonberries aren't worth selling, but they make a good early-game food source. You can pick so many of them that you'll have enough to eat and keep your energy up for weeks or even months.

well it's a rule of thumb to save up your money to spend on strawberries on the egg festival, but that's okay! while waiting for your crops to grow, you can fish and gain experience that way! try using the training rod, it's much easier to fish and allows you to get xp way quicker
