Mahogany trees take a while to grow so tree fertilizer is nice. They drop 10 hardwood when chopped down

If you don't want it on your farm you can use the railroad station to plant trees

You can get wood faster by doing the vertical rows. (Horizontal also works but you can't see between them)

Only every other tree can fully grow, but when you chop it down that lets the sapling next to it finish.
