Fishing is a good money maker early game. Start fishing at day 2 by going to the beach.
You could go down cindersap forest and find spring onions at the bottom area near a circular gate they're good energy early on.

I recommend fishing on rainy days and going to the mines after tending to the farm, I would water plants then go to the mines until there were other things I needed to focus on

I chose the mushroom one and never regretted it but I think the bat one has one major benefit which is that it stockpiles. The mushroom one has six slots and if you don't collect them for one day you miss out

I think co op is pretty fun once you have a steady partner, and you guys balance eachother out. I play with my brother so that makes everything easier. I prefer farming, Foraging, and completing bundles for cc. And he spends 99% of his time mining and were both happy with it.

Although, my brother is new to the game so he is still learning everything.

the bat cave has exactly one redeeming feature - it has a high probability of giving you a fruit tree fruit, so you can complete the Greenhouse bundles without buying a fruit tree sapling.

If you want to actually complete the CC, you need specifically three apples and one pomegranate, Praying for bat cave to give you all of those is an exercise in futility. You'll need to plant an apple tree anyway.

Shroom cave currently generates enough revenue to put down an apple tree after 10 days.

I noticed, that i also cannot put a tea bush on the orange terracotta tiles looking area outside the wood planks border in the greenhouse (in Carolines greenhouse it looked like this on the first glimpse, but there are actually 4 tiles, where it looks like a terracotta flooring tile is removed to reveal a dirt-patch and the tea bush is located in one of them)
I wanted to fill the gaps between the fruit trees with tea-bushes to have productivity on these areas too.
So ot loogs like i need as many garden pots as tea bushes.
