up to you, but personally I find that upgrading pickaxe past bronze pick has lower returns early game

so my upgrade goes usually copper pick > copper, steel, gold axe > steel pick

If you are deep enough then I recommend going to steel, it saves a lot of energy and time progressing through. For example I go to Copper at floor 40, then go to steel pick for 80-120.

well there is a difference between the actual ratio and the statistical ratio. the statistics come from an average. so on average out of 100 grubs slain, one ring was dropped. that could range anywhere any number of times but the average is one

that means in some data pools no ring was found, in some 5 could be found

imo at least if ur doing another quest at the same time if urs ends up being a run in which no ring was dropped, it doesnt feel entirely wasted!
