If you just started, don't worry about minmaxing the game. Just buy whatever crops you like; all crops make money. What I'd recommend is to buy from every available seed a couple, so you get a wide variety of crops. You need this to gain progress towards community center completion, and it's also useful for some quests which asks you to turn in a specific crop (so box in some of your produce in preparation for those quests).

• Complete quests

This is just a basic list. As you progress the game, it keeps throwing more and more at you to do. Eventually, you end up having way too much to do.

How do you make more money in winter without the greenhouse? I'm in winter in my save and I'm just speeding past it with some fishing and mining here and there (well not much mining since I'm in 110 and it's a bit difficult here and there with only a steel pick lol)

Winter seeds are great for forage exp and something to farm during the winter times

Lava eels are the most profitable fish in a pond, it can be caught at floor 100 in the mines, though it’s quite hard and it’s generally trash you catch there

Fishing is the most controversial thing in the game skill wise, I think it’s nice and like doing it but a lot of people hate it or at least finds it too hard to be fun

The training rod is nice for both early fishing exp and learning to fish better, since your bar counts as a level 5 bar and the fish are of difficulty 60 and below (pretty much medium fish as the hardest ones) its downside is that you can’t get quality fish

It can be leveled up really fast if you focus on it yeah, especially in single player so no r time stops while a fish is on the hook, though I normally play multi
