Correction. Cranberries are still OP.
Let me show you the math:
Cranberry takes 7 days to grow and 5 days to regrow. Meaning you can get 5 harvests in. Each harvest will yield at least 2 berries, each at least 75g. That is 150g per harvest. Which is then 750g per season. The seed costs 240g. So it is 510g profit per plant per season.

Now Pumpkin grows 13 days. So you can only get in 2 harvests. Seed costs 100g, and pumpkin sells for 320g.That's 220g profit per pumpkin. So it is 440g profit per plant per season.

So as a raw crop, Cranberry still gives more profit than pumpkins and a more consistent profit.

Now if we get artisanry involved, of course Pumpkin makes 720g Juice, putting the profit at 1240g per plant per season.

Cranberry is a little trickier here because it makes Wine, which takes longer to make, but you can also age it through winter. So to not deal with that, I'll use Jelly (which is less profitable)
So Cranberry Jelly sells for 200g. So that is 2000g per season from one plant and subtracting seed cost will get us to 1760g per plant per season

And since there is a small chance of the Cranberry plant dropping more than 2 berries, it can be even more. So yeah. Cranberries are recommended because they are mad profitable. I hope this helps you in your future Stardewing.

If you don’t get them soon, you can always save the finished pumpkins if you want more profit, too.
