It's salmonberry season. Go out every day and shake the bushes with the red berries on them. Salmonberries aren't worth selling, but they can be eaten for energy and health and can keep you going until you get better foods.
You can literally get enough salmonberries to keep you fed for months.

Kinda best to go in blind but if you ever need any tips just ask here! One mega important thing i will say is watch all tv channels, everyday, go mining on gl days especially if rainy. Don't go on unlucky days. PS.- upgrading tools is great, but only upgrade watering can in winter or when the tv says it will rain the next day
