hi- I'm trying to install mods on Stardew on my phone, and I was wondering if anyone could help me with where to find the files, I'm on Android. (Google pixel 4,if that makes any difference.)

oh i misunderstood, i thought you meant clint's geode breaking animations. i think the only things you can edit are the small things next to the building in the buildings tilesheet
the small pipe texture just copies and multiplies itself
and there's another one in the cursors above the fishing release bar

It could be an incompatibility, if you remove every mod except NPC adventures and whatever else you need for NPC adventures, does it go away?
(Don't save the game in that state)
You can also test on a new save
Basically, an NRE (null reference exception) in a mod I'm not familiar with is either difficult or impossible to troubleshoot
The best you can do is to narrow it down to either an issue solely in the mod, or an incompatibility between mods
I just don't know why you think it's NPC adventures, that one isn't showing any errors
it's because the static trace shows the problem started in NPCADventure code

So some NPC has a broken end of route animation most likely

lulz, yeah, but if it's who I think it is (Aspen updated like a week ago, and she was the one who was my companion when NPCA started acting up), I will probably just remove her
oh is Yri known to be buggy? Haven't had problems with her yet but I'll keep it in mind

it didnt do this before. The only changes i made to it were i added a heart event for the npc and installed event lookup

I think the patch I added to DGA actually fixes any shoe color crash

hello, can someone please try to walk me through adding mods to Stardew on Android? I understand if not, but I've been going at it for a while and I can't figure out what I'm doing. I have smapi installed, and I unzipped the files, but they're all just pictures.

Has anyone used AT with Better Chests? I noticed that when you texture a chest, then pick it up and put it down, AT then recognizes it as an item called the AT id, and no longer a vanilla chest

It looks like you have 8 or so mods that depend on a bunch of other mods (on the order of another 8, maybe a couple more)
So you need those dependencies before the 8 mods you're trying to run can load
Ahh ok yeah, I just saw a small list of eight without thinking that those eight may need their own mods to function

what do you mean by "come with"? mods don't generally bundle other mods with themselves
the ones I'm seeing for mostly the expanded version of SV should've come with the mods as it's requesting to download...
I think I'm gonna give up tbh, I can't download too many more things on my laptop without it crashing and being slow. I may need to either ask a friend to help do it for me by controlling my pc, or wait until I get a tower with bigger space

You might want to ask in #modded-stardew if you're looking for a user to run tests. If you want help, you are unlikely to find a person to help who meets those exact criteria, but it's possible—I just happen to know that some of the most common people who give help don't own controllers.

my smapi log says one of the mods has an update available but i have the latest version available on nexus. the mod is talkohlooeys seasonal outfits. Is it possible the file is on a different site?

If your download manifest number doesn't match the nexus manifest number, that means the author forgot to update the manifest

I was missing like, ErrorHandler, ConsoleCommand, SaveBackUp, and then the main SVE folder....
I guess now that they're there, the moded game of SV should work if I just, repeat the steps
They weren't in the main SVE mod folder....Would that genuinely cause the game to Not Work if they aren't in the main SVE folder🤔? I mean, that would make sense
these are the mods that come preinstalled with smapi, they aren't part of sve, but you shouldn't remove them as they will help with any possible bugs ^^
Ahh then I just did it wrong lol, I copied them to another SVE folder that I created, when the main one comes with it's own SVE moded folder

I installed a custom UI and the custom background mod but I still have the vanilla background
you have to configure the background yourself
either by editing the config json in the mod's folder or by downloading generic mod config menu and doing it in the game menu
Just curious if anyone knows how to fix this. Playing with a friend and they are the host and we both have the friends forever mod installed to prevent losing hearts and while it's working for them, I am definetely still losing hearts. Anybody know what's wrong?

I found the saved file will store another lang if you choise another lang at start.
and that may break save file xml format
never changed the languga, so a mod I picked up was likely not fully compatable
which ya could have broken my whole game, thuse the reinstall
which though saying that I can narrow down which ones it could have been

I started a new save, which is where I got the error
2nd day seemed okish but poppy
so picked to go scorched earth and just clean it up fully

Im part of a server and were trying to find a mod that allows you to have buildings like barns, coops, cabins ect in custom map extra areas? (If that makes sense)

so, I'd like to use some of the DIverse STardew Valley packs-- however I also want to use Seasonal Outfits for the rest of them. Is using both as simple as just deleting the assets of the characters I want replaced by Diverse in Seasonal Outfits, or would this cause issues?
DSV has tons of config, i assume you can just disable the parts you're not interested in

removing stuff will cause errors
you might also consider installing https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/12135 it can show stuff that the log doesn't necessarily otherwise show

DSV isn't compatible by default with Slightly Cuter Aesthetic because SCA is an all-in-one mod (even if you turn off the characters you don't want from DSV, SCA will still override the others), but yes, you can delete the characters you don't want from Slightly Cuter Aesthetic. I don't officially endorse doing that because I don't like people doing the same to DSV and I don't want to be a hypocrite, but Poltergeister mentions in SCA's mod description that it's what she recommends

if it's a config option, you can disable it by editing the config.json file in the IF2 mod folder (it's a text file and any basic text editor can edit it, but i don't know what editors android has)
if it's not a config option, it might not be that simple to disable
might sound absolutely stupid but i downloaded SVE and started a new farm but it's been 15 days straight without rain (besides day 3) - does the mod decrease rain % or smthn

all mods especially portraits are like this. you drag and drop replacing the original portraits. some mods dont need to replace the original portraits while xnb mod files do.

you can but if the anime portraits do not pop up because of the Seasonal Villager Outfits portraits, you'll have to manually delete them

#2 has different variations per outfit (better)
#3 is for generic outfit per villager (similar to the current og portrait)
worst case i had to manually put seasonal portrait 2 into seasonal outfit which took me a few hours.
for your sanity, i guess season 3 or the youtube link you sent is enough.

Recently found out this awesome mod called Alternative Texture. I got lots of images/CP mods I would love to convert to AT version but I'm not too sure how to.
Can someone let me know whether it's a dumb or workable idea if I can use Furniture Example Pack for Alternative Textures (Pink-Blue) or Vanilla for Alternative Textures and just replace the image files with the ones I have?

An example content pack for Alternative Textures that provides 300+ furniture with recolored (Pink/Blue) vanilla textures for modders. Or a content pack that recolors (Pink/Blue) almost every furnitur

I'm using https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/999 and it's as easy as adding the image into a new folder
E.g. Just put all your fave portraits into 1 folder, make sure the file name is the character's name (or chara_beach for 1.5v).
If you want have multiple portraits for the same character to switch things up occasion, just create a new folder and in-game, press 'p' to change between the two. e.g. I have pelly and uti to switch portraits when I get bored of one

and taking out the ones i didnt want
some of the portraits are so nice in this mod but arent entirely accurate, and others dont look as nice

Hey! What happens if I play on a modded map on a save, and then remove the map mod, and then try to play the save without the mod? Will SDV default back to the standard map? Cheers
from my experience, yes
for example: using aces farm map that replaces the originals, if you remove said map replacement stardew will revert to the base-game map for the farm you selected
Ah ok. Im curious about trying out the small farm map, but I like the fact that Im able to play my saves with all mods disabled sometimes on my mac using save sync. Wonder how tht will function with the small farm map

Oh jeez, I would predict quite a few problems unless you somehow managed to stay within that space with everything you wanted when playing on mac, so that when you came back to the mod everything would show up in the proper places

dont like being bound to mods in games, nice to know u can always return to saves without mods breaking saves
(just happened when i got back to play my old modded skyrim save 90% and it was ruined due to mod inconsitencies)
well, thats not entirely true, i.e. stardew valley expanded will simply destroy your save if u remove it
and other mods i can imagine that convert large spaces/add extreme mechanics

Any expansions can be removed so long as you've done the right steps and/or have the right tools such as rtf.
Well, to my knowledge anyway.
It'll default to whatever farm map you chose. For example, if your custom farm map replaced the Forest farm, once you remove it it'll turn into the vanilla Forest farm.

Only sort of oddities are usual messages from Farm Type Manager saying some objects couldn't be loaded

okay i nuked the cabin and rebuilt it, seems like the texture is back to normal
guess i'll avoid having it be fully upgraded.
Then there should be something wrong with the texture for the upgraded version.
Perhaps it's in a different place compared to the second, or it's bigger/smaller. Or the size in the texture.json is wrong

Just as a short summary (and bump), I receive a few random items every time my character wakes up. Two are modded items, others have appeared randomly. Those farm type manager thing's in my log have occurred regularly, these items appearing is completely new.

I updated my mods, it still happened. It seems I'm getting a Lovers Sorrow and Hollowed Bear each time, other items are random. This time the random ones were a diamond and a joja cola (possibly just a diamond? I don't recall if the joja cola was there)
the issue only surfaces when i upgrade it fully, it was fine at the 2nd stage
i guess i'll remove the cabin textures completely until things get figured out ;;

Custom portrait? The same as you install any other mad. But avoid mod that recognized as xnb mod and choose mod which require content patcher instead

Took out my new mods, it still happened. This is weird because to my knowledge it wasn't happening before I added the mods I removed to try and find the cause.

I havent disabled anything, I took them out. What's weird to me is it's giving me differnt items each time except for the two modded items I get each time.

The closest thing to a cause I can get is from Ridgeside Village, which is where the two modded items are from (ridgeside.fandom.com/wiki/common-bugs) under Item Shuffle. But I wouldn't think I have any bugged items in my inventoy.
Still try to check each mod by enable and disable em cause a mod might give you the problem
That takes a long time though, and some mods cant be taken out of a existing save.

It seems like I'm experiencing 'JSON Shuffle' which makes sense since I've been changing mods, and I could've removed a mod that upset some items.
Quick question, when it comes to PPJA mods, do I drag the main folder that I downloaded into /Mods or the folders within the main one?
you can do either. I like to keep them inside the PPJA folder personally, but it shouldn't matter either way.
In that case, it does not matter at all that I have all the JA, CP, MFM and the rest all in /Mods without the main PPJA folder?

I've tried deleting any extra items I had to fix the json shuffle but The random items are still popping up in my inventory after sleeping. Could it be affecting my tools?
i tried robin but there isnt an option to remove the crib or add upgrades for the cabin. i tried the remove_cabin_beds thing in the console too
Also my bed is still 4 tiles. I had Multiple Spouses but replaced it with free love. It appears as a double bed but actually takes up four.

It's fine. I thought it was JSON Shuffle but I deleted all extra items I could, so I'm worried it might be my tools or another mod issue. My items aren't turning into items, those items appear in my inventory everytime I sleep.
That sounds like a bizarre mod side effect rather than a json shuffle
Yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out. I've removed my newest mods but for some reason that didn't fix it despite it not occurring before.

Multiple Spouses is your problem, not sure what you can do to fix it though. (You can always remove the mod and get free love, but that's not much of a solution)

Ok, I solved the issue, it's a bug with item bags. for some reason they make the mod think you are in the cooking menu when you aren't If you don't have the bags on you then everything is fine
nothing you use needs txml, remove that too

other than that - I suspect your antivirus is quarantining smapi/slowing down file access
I would recommend putting an exclusion on that directory
google your antivirus for specific instructions

It is a Tamper Monkey script to re-add the Mod Manager Download button for mods that disable it. Vortex is still a bad idea for modding most games, but Mod Organizer 2 users are at least not inconvenienced with this.

So! I'm trying to play multiplayer with friends and everything was fine until one (not the host) hatched a baby dinosaur and after a day or so in game they keep getting errors and unable to move or leave the current screen while the other two of us can

Then it's probably because they hatched the baby dinosaur, and something happened that is causing the game to look for the BabyDinosaur.xnb
It should be an easy enough fix, just verify file integrity on steam, or anyone could post their BabyDinosaur.xnb file

Download it, and extract it to somewhere other than the game folder. Run the installer. By default, it will detect where your game folder is, and install to there.

I don't fully understand what you're saying. Doesn't the mod allow you to modify the speed that time passes? If so, I don't see what times have to do with it. Unless you have it set to automatically freeze at a certain time.

Is smapi 64 bit or 32? Im having trouble getting my game to load, but im not getting any errors, so i dont think its a memory issue, but thats kinda all ive got left to "fix"

can you describe your issue in further detail?
I try to make a new file since i just put a mod list together and it locks up and says not responding until i close it. Theres no errors that show up in the smapi console, so its not a memory issue (that im aware of), and it shouldnt be an issue with the computer itself
Depends on how many mods, how long are you waiting?
Pytk reliably locks it up but it does eventually load

Make sure the game is running on the dedicated card
The other thing that can slow things down is an antivirus

Yes, that generally will increase load time
Is your computer generally a potato or is it alright? If it’s generally a potato this might be normal, if it’s generally alright might be worth some fiddling
Im running SVE, ridgeside village, downtown zuzu, stardew aquarium, east scarp, and that other mod that i think is called garden village, plus all of their dependencies
Also can you post a log? That has time stamps that help check slowness levels
So my Walk of Life mod bugged out and I just find out what it does. Can anybody tell me what 'Ecologist' and 'Scavenger' do? I'm at the choice menu
 Ecologist (Lv10) - Wild berries restore 50% (100%) more health and energy. Progressively identify forage of higher quality.
 Scavenger (Lv10) - Location of foragable items revealed. Occasionally detect buried treasure. Time freezes during Scavenger Hunts.

When you refuse to remove mods that are adding the same items cause you want both the mods LOL
This means 2K errors
I would go into the Decorative Eggs files and add "Decorative" to the beginning of the item names

- delete the conflicting items from one of the mods
- rename them

I've got a fast way for you to do it. I see that you've got notepad++. In windows explorer, use search to find all the "object.json" files in that mod folder. Open them all in notepad++. Use "Name"\W*:\W*" as your regular expression to find all the Name fields in the object.json files. Then you can "Replace All in All Opened Documents" to replace that with "Name": "Decorative <- (watch out for that trailing space)
It'll basically prepend "Decorative" to all the object names.
I would recommend checking each file after you do this and before you save. Make sure I didn't make a mistake with regex.

It looks like a lot, but Notepad++ has a lot of neat features that let you mass edit files quickly.
Doing it by hand also works
I was not aware, this is pretty cool
- Open stardrop
- Click nexus mod on toolbar
- Click API connection
- A window pop up say get API key, click Go to Nexus Mods
- Find stardrop at the bottom of that page (assumed your browser auto login your account on NexusMods(
- Press request an api key
- Copy the text (random alphabets and numbers) and paste it to the window stardrop ask for api key earlier
- Click the checklist and you should be connected to nexusmods
Yeah I'm connected to Nexus but for some reason it doesn't seem to do anything, the mod manager downloads.
Works perfectly fine manually downloading it
For the download, choose vortex while stardrop is opened.

the folder is where you manually install mo through stardrop or download through stardrop. should be fine if it is empty if you didn't install any mod through stardrop

do you have the nexus version of radioactive tools? i don't think it works with current game/smapi. there is an unofficial update somewhere but i don't remember where. prismatic tools might work better, it does most of what radioactive tools does

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
(so switch to the Json Assets version of farmer to florist at least)
