Always a good rule of thumb to delete old folders when updating. Especially with big mods ^^

There's probably a mis-unpacked XNB mod in the mix too, or it could just be weird organization
sm purge, though resampling shouldn't stop working unless something has gone quite wrong. A deadlock or such in the worker threads.
There's also a broken copy of SVO, which has been taken down from Nexus due to the author leaving modding

okay so I was trying earlier to get Immersive Farm 2 Fix to work. I have another mod path to load the game without that mod. every mod is the same except for the farm one. ignore the update thing. I'm using an old version of PPJA that actually works and the Adopt n Skin is the multiplayer beta which I'm not using. https://smapi.io/log/e42aab02c5594d1e964e79853e94b46c

bc when I try to use one of the hairstyles from the CP one I get that error in the log, but when I use a normal hairstyle everything loads fine.

Your copy of Svo has no manifest. So it's not working.
The link that you sent, "Slightly cuter characters" or something, IS working. Remove SVO and get that. Or you can look into getting other similar mods.
Ideally, yes. It's easiest to only have one at a time. But you can have them both at the same time but turn off/on configs on which you want and don't want.

Works in single-player, multiplayer, and split-screen mode. (In multiplayer and split-screen mode, the mod won't do anything if you're not the main player.)

Fixed broken map replacement: Content Patcher loaded 'Maps/FarmHouse1_marriage' without a required tilesheet (id: sewer, source: Maps\SewerTiles).
Why would the Farmhouse1_marriage need the Sewer tilesheets?

Late reply, sorry, but actually DSV is incompatible with Slightly Cuter Aesthetic even with DSV's config options since SCA affects all characters 😅 There's more info on the compatibility page of the DSV website

so im trying to check the mail and it keeps repeating the same letter from caroline. im not sure which mods are causing this. also im not sure how to fix the conflicting sprite issues with the wizard.
somebody else could probably give you a more detailed answer but maybe update your mail framework mod?
also the errors seem to be from 2 different portrait mods trying to apply at the same time
so you should probably remove one

what's the status of the unofficial better fruit trees update in 1.5.6, does it let the trees grow when there are obstructions (like spawned objects or the "surroundings" of other fruit trees) next to them?
or is there another mod to use instead
I suggest updating all of your mods
and after you've done that and your save still won't load- replace your save with a backup
I tried the unofficial better fruit trees, didn't work for me, so now I use crop transplant (and changed the config to max stage (5)) and now move the trees right next to each other when they're fully grown and they still work
so if i start a new farm itll work?
if you still want to use your old save, try an old backup
if you've updated all your mods and want to start a new farm, it should work

ignore modmanager download for stardew
mod manager is the website getting more of your data
normally, with a mod manager you can automatically install mods via a software you installed, however vortex (nexus' own modmanager) often breaks stardew mods by deleting manifest files which are required. so just ignore it

i mean that if you get JA or BFAV mods in the future you will get JA and BFAV too, because the mods need them to work. it's not a problem that the messages show when you don't have either of those installed

Hey guys, so I came popped in here the other day because I was having issues with my heavily modded stardew. No apparent issues within my smapi logs, but the game would constantly freeze upon sleeping. I figured it out to be down to a mod called "Meteor Defence" I thought I'd just say if anyone has similar issues check if you have that mod 🙂

I did post it the other night and the folks I was speaking to unfortunately couldn't find anything either, so I came to the trial and error of removing mods and found it to be that one. That is why I put this post up for in case if somebody else had a similar issue and was using said mod 🙂
Isn't it normal? I often freeze when the game is calculating my earnings for the day whilst sleeping too.
For me unfortunately it wasn't just freezing, the api would stop working altogether and the game would close. I personally couldn't even get to the screen for calculating my earnings.
Do you left click while it's in it's unresponsive state?

I don't press anything, it just closed down on its own. It was strange the first 6 days worked perfectly, it was when I got to the 7th day and I just couldn't proceed until I removed that mod.

Yeah it happens in every save, I even tried removing the expansions and trying a new save but I had the same issue. Only seems to of resolved removing that mod unfortunately.

but a cool thing you can do to to stop mods from working for a while, put a period in front of the folder name

There are a smaller number of mods on ModDrop, and some (very few) people do Github or CurseForge, but the vast majority of mods are Nexus-only
Not necessarily, but you'd be limited to mods that are available elsewhere if you don't get a Nexus account. Nexus accounts are free, you do not have to pay for them.
There is an option to pay for faster download speeds on Nexus, but it is not required, not even for big mods.
You don’t need vortex and you don’t need nexus premium. But a regular, free, nexus account (while not strictly necessary) is required to download mods from nexus.

no - your children will revert to not being NPCs

you should be able to remove Child2NPC without any problems, the mod is designed to work pretty well with that

You need to install specific .pngs inside More Giant Crops for the crops you want Giant versions of
The More Giant Crops mod also allows them to grow on Ginger Island, would it allow the Lumisteria giant crops to grow there to?
I don't think so, I think it would only allow crops whose giant versions are implemented through More Giant Crops to grow on GI

I am not an expert in windows, but it does not matter how you accomplish the unzipping as long as an unzipped folder containing the mod files ends up in the Mods folder

Load order roughly determines patch order, and is alphabetical except for dependencies

Dependencies can change load order arbitrarily by adding a "mod A needs mod B to load before it" constraint
If two mods try to Load the same asset, no one wins, none of them load

Reinstall smapi - you're missing the mod Error Handler, which will deal with things like that
So redownload smapi and download the Error Handler mod and that should fix it?

So I don't know if you typed it in correctly, but you remember how you installed smapi right?
Click the installer again and basically reinstall it. At the end the console will give you the path in green, which you have to copy into the launch option field.

Since you people helped me get modded up, I have a new problem.
My GOG version of SDV quit. It won't start to the point that task manager doesn't even show it starting. I've deleted to and reloaded and still the same; nothing. Any ideas on the problem pls ping me.

some mods have removed their TXML dependency, so you need to use free love when using that
It should work, although it may not work very well with other mods like Free Love or Multiple Spouses

I have both the mods mentioned Plus another that says it is a framework for using CP versions of spouse rooms/patios, not to mention other map addons, but that means converting all my TMX files to CP or struggling with Tiled to "physically" add the rooms to the map. try moving the installer out of OneDrive
one drive is weird
(in order to run the installer from the command line, you have type exactly .\"install on Windows.bat", quotes and slashes and everything included
OneDrive is a cloud storage thing, and SMAPI doesn't belong in cloud storage
put it in any folder that's entirely on your computer (so, not OneDrive or any other cloud storage anything)
I hate how Windows asks people if they want their files backed up during setup and then just makes a OneDrive for everything like that.

Unfortunately, that error means you're going to have to install manually. The instructions are in the README document in the install folder. Please read all the instructions before starting to do them, just so you can get an idea as to what you're going to need to do.

Its for the hidden companion on the mod
This feature relies on Custom Companions, which is a framework
In the barn
Within the Looking for Love files, one of the subfolders is for Custom Companions
So the content pack is already included with Looking for Love
I'm not sure why you need another content pack

So I finally get through the community center, I go to Joja on a rainy day and try to open the last bundle. The game doesn't crash, but there's a never ending click sound, the window doesn't pop up and I'm unable to leave the ruins. I can move, use tools, etc. but I can't leave. I even let my time run out at 2:00AM and it didn't even warp me out. If i remember correctly DaisyNiko doesn't have recolours for custom farmmaps in Earthy Recolour
You can disable the map recolour in config options so that it is all vanilla-coloured

I ran into that personally as well. I have a mitigation on my end, but I don't know exactly what's causing it yet.

Yes it is easy to mod on pc, I don't think I'd recommend using any mod managers though as SDV mods are known to not play nice with that. Quite a few people come here often from errors caused by using them ^^

Horse Flute Anywhere is a very simple mod for what it does. If it's not compatible with Deep Woods, it's not a problem with Horse Flute, it's a problem with Deep Woods.
It's the only actively supported mod that I'm aware of which does what it does.
I did look at the Deep Woods mod, the author did state that "Sorry I can't provide support for compatibility issues with other mods." and the state of the bug report on the mod page says won't fix

@static cloud Tool Upgrade Delivery Service uses FeTK which has been known to cause some issues in the current version of SDV
Which is what Mail Services Mod is a replacement for it
FeTK apparently conflicts with the vanilla game itself in some ways

The mods that disrupt the normal save cycle tend to be less reliable. There's also Adavnced Save Backup which saves more often than SMAPI's Save Backup
