I figured it out
xbox game pass really does not make it simple to have mods huh
**Stardew Valley Expanded: Victor 10 heart event spoilers **
||so in the 10 heart cutscene victor invites you to the summit, when my friend goes up to the summit their game renders the summit black; like the entire background
any ideas?
we have no external mods and have updated all of the core mods
and we have verified the integrity of the game files and changed "Stardew Valley" folder to Read & Write
This is multiplayer and the summit only seems to disappear on their screen
I do think it is something with Json Assets though: as near the summit warp in the SMAPI log reads this:

yea, it has occurred multiple times; that is the main problem I THINK, im not that knowledgeable on Stardew mods but that is where the game bugs out

It just seems like a very specific bug and I don't see anything that should be causing it in your mod list.

just put it in mods
the mod should recognize if you have txml installed, and if you do it'll load

there's file managers that let you unzip files in android
if you click on the .zip, can you see its contents?

mods just need to be extracted to work
well- if they say they depend on another mod to work, then you need said mods too
but id recommend opening your game and seeing if it works now o: thats the easiest way to know if they worked

well, the file you extracted from isn't deleted automatically. it stays there until you delete the .zip yourself

hey @worthy moth I have also discovered that your two mods (Better Chests and FuryCore) do something that results in massive lag when items are being picked up from the floor
anyone know why my game crashes on launch with smapi? got the .net 5 desktop thing

the chests won't expand, and rows of items disappear?
Try turning off the collect items feature and see if that helps
accidentally set the chest sze to 60 
but when i had infinite chests, i couldnt put new items in?
Good thing is items don’t actually get lost if you realize. You just might not see them. But they’re just below the items you can see.
If you change the size back to infinite it’ll be fine again
is the main game folder supposed to have 250 dll files, even after a fresh install?

Howdy! I just installed the necessary files to run the expanded game, but have ran into a few issues. Would anyone be able to take a look at my SMAPI log and help me diagnose the issue?

Huh. The game was stuttering before crashing for the second time, so I figured something must've been up

I was thrown off because there wasn't a red error line
so figured I'd get another set of eyes on it
well, the last message is [00:57:35 TRACE Quest Framework] Checking managed quest completions <QuestFramework.Quests.CustomQuest, QuestFramework.Quests.CompletionArgs>. but no idea if it's in anyway related to the crash
stuttering before a crash could mean the game run out of available memory, but i think that would show on the log too

ui info suite has a working version here though https://github.com/Annosz/UIInfoSuite2/releases (you can check if some types of mods work and/or have alternative versions available with smapi.io/mods)

good morning. New here. 🙂 hiya. I'm an experienced player and user of mods. I have a save that I really hate the farm of. I'd like to use a farm map in this save. I think I remember doing something like this and using Reset Terrain... is this a viable option ?
yeah, as long as the farm map mod replaces the same farm type you're using (or is new one entirely, in which case you can switch the farm type with smapi commands). buildings, crops etc. will just stay where they are now and will probably need a lot of cleanup
I'm using the beach farm and I hate it lol
I don't have very many buildings yet and my crops I don't care about. the save is more about storytelling which is why I don't want to start over
hm, not sure how you switch from the beach farm to other farm types (i guess the farm map mods that replace the beach farm have similar features to it)

I suppose I could backup my save and try it with a new map, and somewhere in the code I can change the vanilla farm type anyway I think
you can manually edit your save
yeah, some farm map mods have a config for it even. if they don't they can have other features that rely on you having the intended map though
somewhere in there theres a text file where the farm has a value from 0 to 5 which are tied to the farm types
no this is base game stuff
i recommend making a copy incase it goes wrong but im p sure theres a guide if you just google how to change the map

So I'm using the better junimo huts mod and it was working perfectly, now all of a sudden when I go to collect anything from their hut it dissappears and a small unusable search bar appears in the upper left corner. What should I do?

Hi, everybody. A small question about the translation of mods.
Let's say there is a dialog in which the farmer needs to choose three possible answers. But the gender divider ^ doesn't work there.
Is there any other way to choose the gender in the text?
Should I try to uninstall and then reinstall?
people in #making-mods-general might know better (i don't think there is another native way, but even if there isn't, it's probably not impossible, the original mod just might have to make some changes to provide the possibility)

I am trying to download immersive farm 2 and it is having me download 3 separate files that are has been edited since the pack was made. I have them downloaded and they are in my mod drop library but mod drop is telling me they are not there. Anyone else have this issue

I'm running SMAPI and I'm using just one mod to change portraits. It's been working perfectly with no issue until now, but all of a sudden every time I open it it just says "App can't run on PC." I tried making an administrator account, I tried deactivating SmartScan, I checked that SMAPI was up to date... what's going on?
At a time, SVE did have a compatibility patch for the mod, but Ran requested the patches be removed.

Just to make sure I'm installing a mod correctly - it's a BFAV dependant mod (alpacas), I can't check cuz at work atm but I think it had json and CC in the unzipped file, in addition to the main mod file. When this is the case, I don't have to move files to SDV's various data folders and am good to just have all of these files in the mod folder right?
im still not understanding, im sorry:( i tried running the installer and then relaunched it and still the same error

every day i get up in game and there's an ore node or rock on the same spot, even once i've destroyed it, on my farm map - any idea how i can fix?

You may be able to tweak the FTM settings if that's what does the quarry
I love that we asked for the expansion to the channels so we wouldn't need another server and now I'm hopping into another lol (Sorry will stop being off topic)
I'm not sure though, I forget if a quarry is now something you can add as a map/tile property
might also be able to set NoSpawn on the tiles itself
I think it's a hard problem—there's a fine line between too much and too little chatter

if it's gotten to a point where you want a full refresh, you can try:
Zip up your mods folder and save it somewhere
Back up your save files somewhere
Uninstall SMAPI (may be optional)
Uninstall SDV
Reinstall SDV
Reinstall SMAPI
Put your mods folder back

Hello all, I have not been playing my game often due to a stutter when playing, but I try and open it once a month to keep my mods updated for if/when I can play again! It has been awhile since my last rounds of updates and I thought I got everything downloaded correctly but when I launch my game I get a message that says SMAPI removed content that was not relevant (or something along those lines) and the farm layout I am using no longer loads (I have SVE and the immersive farm 2 map) I did update that file today as well. Any help or suggestions to fix this issue would be amazing! I am on my lunch break at work so feel free to ping me if needed . I have the yandere sebastian mod and it worked fine until recently. I made a new save as multiplayer (I'm host) and after I got 2 hearts I'm supposed to start get some dialogue but I never got anything
I'm already dating him and none of the dialogue shows up

It's possible the marriage dialogue is different than non-dating or dating dialogue
Being on a Mac shouldn't make a difference in this case
Since dialogue mods are all CP mods

Yeah I looked at that too. I read that the mods load alphabetically. Yandere Sebastian is the last one to load so I should be seeing that dialogue.

There is also added festival dialogue for different heart levels and only the 1-8 hearts work.

If the mod isn't working when it's the only mod you have, then it sounds like the mod might either just be missing dialogue or maybe there's something amiss. You can use a patch summary to see if you may have missed any mods that edit Sebastian's dialogue.

They might be complaining about comments, which are a nonstandard part of jsons

oh if you need to find the ID for the dependencies you need, you open the mod's manifest
they have something called an UniqueID, which is what you have to put in dependencies
for example this is a mod's unique id

Okay asking again because it got drowned in chat earlier. I want to make sure I'm installing mods correctly since it's been a hot minute.
I have a mod that has three [acronym] files in the unzipped folder. [BFAV], [JA], and [PFM], for this example, from the Alpaca mod. Files like this are generally safe to just plop into the SDV mods folder and don't need files manually placed into SDV's various data files correct?
I think I have to place the [BFAV] file's shop image file into Better Farm Animal Variety's assets folder, but other than that I'm good to place and forget, correct?
Any mod that isn't an xnb mod goes into the Mods folder. So yes.
I don't know this BFAV mod specifically, but the two I use, just have to be placed in the Mods folder. So I dunno about that.

How you have it now, you can never get rid of the others without breaking the one.

The only ones I remember installing that add UI things were the normal exp bars mod and I think there were one or two multiplayer things
I had this same issue before, some mod adds it along with other stuff, but I don't remember which. But since I can adjust various things about this one like the size and whatnot, I'll just uninstall the exp bars mod
Get generic mod config menu if you don't already have it, then look around under it, it's the gear button on the main menu, to see if you can find the mod and disable the one you don't like
one of my mods is somehow allowing me to buy golden chickens in marnie's shop as if they were any other chicken, which is completely broken since golden chickens are OP and should be locked behind perfection. can someone help me identify which mod is causing it?

is that an intended feature of BFAV? because it seems a little OP and broken
BFAV has a few quirks to it
I think the author may be partially retired
And/or busy with real life things
Golden chickens are a 1.5 thing, so it's not terribly surprising some mods interface with them a little interestingly
since i don't own any roosters on my current save, could i uninstall BFAV and BFAV roosters without breaking everything?

I just started using AdoptN'Skin, and none of my animals have ID numbers in the console
I can randomize skins for categories, but I'd like a very specific skin for my current cat, but she doesn't have an ID

anyone experience something like this before? If any items end up in the red squares they "disappear" when cycling through using tab. I suspect the bigger backpack mod (that added the 4th row) might be doing this but I can't find a bug report that mentions anything like this..

did you rename StardewModdingAPI.exe to Stardew Valley.exe exactly?

i think there's an option to disable slot locking, but you can toggle it with the right key
It's now showing animal IDs, but it's not allowing for reskinning. It seems to not see any skin in the assets>skins folder, and refuses to create a config file upon first run

It has my PC specs, everything that I've tried to fix the issue, and my log.
Heyo been making a mod list for Stardew Valley and everything worked fine, but the gameplay for some reason always had stuttering. It would be a 2 fps drop from 60-58 constantly. So I decided to remove my mods slowly in sections, same results with the same stuttering. Eventually I got to no mods...
When you go to the nexus mods smapi posts, there are several people with the same issue that I have all popping up very recently.

I'm willing to do whatever I can to help fix it. Even though It's a constant 2 fps drop, It's stuttering, basically. It causes stuttering during gameplay.

So I sent my mod folder to a couple of friends
one of them has no issue joining our co-op game
the other is crashing on startup or can't even connect to co-op games
with the same mod set all of us have
anyone know potential reasons behind this?
are any of your mods incompatible with co-op
they shouldn't be, and like I said our third friend is able to join np

It's possible that everyone getting Smapi now has these stutters, some people just play with it and figure It's their mods

I actually think the large ram people may be getting it worse
Since the max gc scales to the ram amount
There is no 32 bit smapi
Also, maybe setting stardew to just one processor doesn't help...
The game does have some (limited) threading
I always have it set to all my processor cores
And gc preferentially runs on background threads

Instead of drops in 57-60 fps, it's now 59-60 fps

so I originally zipped my mod file, sans SVE and Ridgeside Village, and sent it to them through discord
and had them download SVE and Ridgeside Village and manually install them, which had a bit of confusion that I tried to sort out
we were able to play, but twice he went into the main town area and crashed, so I uploaded my entire mod folder to my google drive and he downloaded it
and then hasn't even been able to make it to the main menu
Seeing the exact errors might help because the town map thing sounds like a super classic “oops I missed a mod” kind of problem
Okay, the first error tells me that a file got eaten somehow
When it says nonexistent from file, that means the file content patcher is trying to load from gas problems
Can you get your friend to check where it says it’s looking to see whether the file truly doesn’t exist?
In fact, I bet the issue is that you have MNF fish in the crab pots, and your friend has missing pngs that prevented MNF from loading properly

I get the same Anthro Characters error with Gunther and Wizard and I'm not sure how to fix it. Doesn't appear to actually be causing issues in game as they still are edited.
You could have them try redownloading those three mods

Two content packs want to load the 'Characters/Wizard' asset (Anthro Characters Continued and Stardew Valley Expanded). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility. so an incompatibility between anthro characters and SVE
yeah, there's a SVE anthro pack that for some reason has Gunther and Wizard files. I tried deleting them from one of the mods and it gave me different errors
