Hello I have a lot of mods that depend on PPJA, but there is a recommendation to change to DGA, how do I make the mods that have not been updated that have those dependencies compatible?
Do not change to the DGA version of PPJA!
changing to DGA isn't recommanded for all cases
The DGA versions were improperly machine converted, do not appear to have been tested at all, and are all broken!
(and if you are in a middle of the game and aren't adding new mods, it's not needed to update, as the main reason to use DGA is to avoid JA shuffle, and JA shuffle happens only when adding new items)
I like how Nexus for some reason has a "monitor size" for me. (which, fwiw, is wrong)
@late nebula thank you for your help! I downloaded 21 mods and I'm gonna see them in a game now. I pretested some to see if I did it right and it says its added correctly so thank you again š just some easy stuff like automatic gates helps a lot

legacy mode is the 32-bit/XNA version of the game that works with older graphics drivers

yep! i use path connectors to connect most of the trees in the forest
so, the log will tell you what's going on with each mod
the first one, for example, is not a smapi mod at all, but an xnb mod

Hi! I'm playing on a singleplayer farm and I found a mod for removing beds from guesthouses, but is there a mod for moving beds in guesthouses?
Evening! I've run into this issue again where my aspect ratio is off. And this time there is no "startup_preferences" to delete to try and reset it in my APP data cause this is the first time I've played it on this computer. Is there a way to force stardew to launch in windowed mode or something like that?

SMAPI makes a log whenever it is started - if it doesn't have a log the game has never been launched with SMAPI.

Also note that Vortex, Nexus's mod manager, cannot install SMAPI!

Stardrop does some funky stuff with junctions to fill a folder with mods and then use the mod group stuff to point SMAPI at that new folder
That way you can install a bunch of mods and pick-and-choose which ones to use
Without having to install mods multiple times, once for each mod group

In the way SMAPI has built-in, you make a shortcut for each mod group and use those

(You add a thing to the shortcut's properties to tell SMAPI to look in a differetn place for mods than the default.)
(So every modgroup is a different shortcut.)

and that creates a shortcut.

your mods are working! it's just that neither Custom Music nor Custom NPC Exclusions do anything on their own - both just enable other mods to do things.
Install some other mods, like perhaps some custom NPCs or some custom music packs, the same way you installed Custom Music and Custom NPC Exclusions.

You do have a mods folder? it's at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods
Two ways to find it, assuming that that's actually your log and not some random other person's log you took for some reason:
- Go to My Computer. Click the C drive. Click Program Files (x86). Click Steam. Click steamapps. Click common. Click Stardew Valley. it should be there
- go to Steam, rightclick Stardew Valley, mouse over Manage, click Browse Local Files.
this takes you directly to the Stardew Valley location on your computer

So, Virtual Keyboard has default keys, but you can add more or use those keys If you dont need many and they are enough. You get Q, I, O and P, Get Glam mod needs C to open the Mirror UI to customize your npc. I guess its C, if not, go to the config tab inside your Smapi Installer, search for Get Glam mod and edit the config json pressing the notepad icon, probably there is some config telling anything about the mod key. Change the letter that IS inside to some default one, like those above (Q, I, O or P).

and diesn't actually rely on a feature of SMAPI that the documentation tells you you shouldn't use

Yeah I'm actually pretty sad about it. I love that mod, but I use others that edit springobjects as well. I have no idea how to fix the resolution scaling problems though.
So, part of it is that pytk does not handle rescaling of only parts of a graphic well

You can either roll back to 1.5.4, but that means you would have to pick old versions of mods and you wouldn't get new mods built for 1.5.5, or you can play without mods.

So for Lux's Food Mod, I had to add Better Rings, all of the Elle's Animals mods I use, Gwen's paths, fences, and medieval items, Museum Artifacts Reimagined, and Random Library Book Covers (all of which I'll send to Lux). I'm missing 3 things: hedge, camping stove, and slime crate. Two things look weird... which is probably not to do with all this. (And I'm missing some shirts and hats, probably because Coii's.) I haven't noticed a dramatic increase in the load time though so that's progress!

Yeah that's what I did. I think the ones I'm missing probably have to do with some other mod. I might track it down if I ever actually use the items and "care."

Hello. I've been having a problem with the Grandpa's Farm config not letting me delete the Shed items. It did at first, along with my other config choices, then next time I played the Shed items were back, along with all of my grass gone. I reset the config and that worked for a session and then the Shed objects came back, but all other config settings are working fine. It says "True" for RemoveGreenhouseObjects for both the actual config file and in the Generic Mod Config Menu in-game, but still shows the objects. I also didn't get the cutscene when Robin finished the work to upgrade Grandpa's Shed and the Wiki says I was also supposed to get 20 (33 in the picture) Casks when the Shed was finished but I never got those as well. Been trying for a couple hours to sort it out, but I'm at wit's end.
is there a know conflict between the magic mod and the generic mod config mod?

So I've downloaded the ace's expanded farm's mod, the content patcher and the farm type manager on nexus mod launcher as well as smapi separately, they're all installed and enabled but when I run the game through smapi the game looks no different and I can't figure out how to start a new farm with a different map on it. This is my first time modding stardew valley so i'm sure i'm doing something wrong here but I'm not quite sure what.

Okay, so in my mods folder there wasnt anything called config in the [CP] ace farms expanded but there is a file called content which seems to have the lines to change that it describes on the mod page but it's only changing the style of the pet bed when I load the map. I'm trying to use the cherryblossonhh map to replace the vanilla foraging map. I replaced the vanilla in the line "Default": "Vanilla" With "Default": "Cherryblossonhh" up at the top

just install generic mod config menu, it'll let you config the mod using an ui menu. also reinstall the mod, you're not suppsoed to be editing content.json

You can email the creator with a link to it, the name of the map and the name of the creator but it might take awhile for them to add it

The maps look the same to me. It looks like the website person just left off some of the forest since you can technically walk through that area.
Otherwise they are identical from what I can tell.

The error items are probably from removing the mod without getting rid of the related item first. If you don't want the mod, just delete them. If you do, well you still probably will need to delete them.

I am going to hazard a guess that you are trying to load the CustomMusic for 1.5.5, not 1.5.4
May I ask why you're using 1.5.4?
you need to update all the mods it's telling you to update. You've got version mismatches

and trying to load a mod (Custom Music) made for 1.5.5
(also they're a pirate and admitted it, then deleted the post that admitted it :P)

If anyone cares lmaoo I have a plan, Iām too deep into cheating to care about this specifically so Iām going to restart the day (before I asked krobus to move in) remarry Emily, divorce her, make her forget and out her hearts to 10 and THEN get krobus to move in. Couldāve been avoided if I just did it properly originally but oh well. (Unless thereās a mod to skip back a day)

can you download the installer directory to somewhere that's not the game directory? Downloads directory works fine
you should not need to run it as admin mode if you don't have it in the game directory
@gaunt gust take your time since youāre helping someone else but I donāt really understand the save file thing, is there a certain way to go back a day in your save?
yeah, go to the bottom of the page, see the part about reverting back a day
if that doesn't work, you can grab a backup out of save-backups in the game directory, smapi keeps backups for you
I have reinstalled smapi
So if I do mess it up smapi will have a backup I donāt need to do anything for it?
rename Stardew Valley.exe to Stardew Valley_backup.exe
(right, windows hates extensions)
Make a copy of StardewValleyAPI.exe and name it Stardew Valley.exe
I've added a note to the wiki (in a more obvious place) to not run the installer from the game directory on gamepass
