There are a whole bunch of map mods. You can just go to nexus and search. I don't have any recs bc I only play 2-person multiplayer.
If you don't want mods, you can use 4 corners map which is nice for multiplayer

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else might have an issue that keeps happening to me and my girlfriend. When we go to sleep so we can save the day, our screen gets stuck on the "Waiting for players (2/2) ..." and I get errors in the smapi window, I unfortunately closed the window without pasting the errors but if there is a folder where these errors get written into I can get that up. Any help would be appreciated

OutOfMemoryException errors on Windows mean that your game ran out of memory. The game only has access to a small part of your computer's memory by default. Anything not on there is probably a content pack (so you don't need to worry)

One minus that's not on there is that PyTK takes a very long time to load
But there isn't a fix rn for that

I downloaded it
and it broke my house
- Check that all players in your game have exactly the same mods.
- Delete messed up items.
- Install cheat mod.
- Give yourself back the messed up items.
- Uninstall cheat mod.
In SVE, do you have to cut down the extra grass that spawns in like the bus stop and forest in order to allow forages to spawn on those tiles?
Probably, since forage won't spawn on filled tiles afaik.
(I do not know this specific case but I am saying this from first principles)
Although, in my limited SVE experience the forage tiles don't get grass on them, so I still got forage

When I learn how to make a mod I plan on making the unobtainable shirts obtainable
So I used this dog mod that changes the look and switched the xnb of the dog I use. It didnt work so i just copied the file three times and renamed them all to every dog. I even checked and unpacked each file and they all have the right dog png, but for some reason in game its still just vanilla dog? I dont understand

either it's a content patcher mod (in which case it goes in your mods folder and you'll need to change the target in the content.json) or it's an XNB mod (in which case you'll need to reset your content folder and look for a content patcher conversion)

So I have this wizard spouse mod and its all great but for some reason its not showing his portrait (i put a custom portrait in)

the portait i use is just an xnb but somethings making it turn into this

basically that's the wizard overworld sprite, put in the portrait folder
this is a very easy to make mistake with XNBs but impossible to make when installing content patcher mods

Reimplements the game's unimplemented luck skill and adds professions for it.
This mod extends your maximum skill levels to 100 and adds experience bars.

Level extender doesnt add additional professions afaik and capstone just adds one more profession when you max all skills which who knows if that stacks with level extender

there was a mod that added a third profession option to Farming and it was really prone to causing people to have to repick their professions every night

Yassss. Professions for melee could split between straight damage and crit and then split between lifesteal + pure damage and something else for the crit line like every 3 attacks without being hit you get increased crit

For ranged it could attack speed vs damage and then split with explosive damage increase and damage increase and multi shots

personally i just use skill prestige mod to slowly unlock everything in a pretty balanced way
used to use walk of life but it managed to make itself incompatible with my PFM mod
and...specifically only my one...
so i stopped using it
how does it work like whats the benefit of prestiging
when you prestige you gain a prestige point and go back to skill level 1
prestige points can be used to permanently buy a profession
1 prestige point for a level 5 profession and 2 prestige points for a level 10 profession
also, while you have unspent prestige points in a skill, that skill levels faster
Interesting. I feel like that could be a system to be able to get more "professions"

android is on stardew 1.4, you'll need to track down a PyTK from earlier than December 2020 to use on android

Hello, I'm really deprate. I'm searching for a mod that let's add you a truck on your Farm. It looks a bit like the one the major has but with flowers on it. I searched whole Nexusmod and Naver already but couldn't find it. Would be really awesome if someone knows the mod or at least a similar one.

Looks like Seasonal Cute Characters is also editing Penny's portrait, so it's probably just overwriting the changes from that mod. Check if it has a configuration option to disable specific characters (and use it if so), otherwise you can edit the manifest.json in any text editor to add an optional dependency on that mod. json "Dependencies": [ { "UniqueID": "author.mod", "IsRequired": false } ] The UniqueID you'd use there would be in the manifest.json for Seasonal Cute Characters.
(You can rename the Penny to Pryce mod folder to eg zPennyToPryce to see if that's enough to temporarily get it to come after it, but the dependency in the manifest is the way to guarantee that it does, since that's how SMAPI handles load order and other ways are sort of spiderwebby bridges that could not work for an invisible reason or change in the future.)

Well, in the void linux repos there's only mono and mono-basic, and other misc releted stuff to mono, like dev files

It's probably the zoom level, you can go into setting and check that UI Zoom and the other Zoom match
(Sorry for not being more detailed, I've never actually done this myself so idk exactly how to do it)
Since it hasn't been updated since 2019 my guess is that a real fix is unlikely
The real fix is to use the right functions in the code to draw things
wheres the expansion mod
someone made an update in 2021.. but they didnt try to fix the zoom issue, which im apparently not the only one to struggle with

Yknow something harder than skull cavern
Gem Isles and Deep Woods on nexus add other areas to explore and whatnot.
Underground Secrets on nexus adds other stuff to the mines. Hardcore Mines 2 on nexus also does something to add difficulty

I downloaded a mod that makes the npcs ask you to be their partner rather than you asking, but I already am dating an npc that i'd be interested in seeing the event with. do you guys know a way i could backtrack to before i was dating the npc or is it set in stone at this point? i have the cheats mod where i could manipulate the hearts but i don't think that does anything

Hi is there a mod can let me move the greenhouse on stardew valley 1.4 mobile
the only thing that can kinda do that is MTN, but you still can't move the greenhouse freely yourself, it just lets map modders move it (and most people have moved away from using it bc it's pretty outdated and was even during PC 1.4)

hey folks, I'm trying to get Automate working on my game, I installed it and smapi through vortex, my game runs through steam, Automate is not currently functioning, anyone know what I need to do?

Okay, so my cousin is experiencing major issues with our MP farm. She can't move what so ever due to extreme lag, it only started happening after a few mods were updated ( She's removed the ones that were updated, but it's continued ) . SVE was giving her massive errors ( I tried posting in there, they ignored it completely ) so I had her to load up the farm without any mods to see if it still happens without them. Now SVE is throwing even more errors, when it's not even loaded in, no mod is. She can't even enter the farm anymore, she tries to enter and it kicks her back to the title screen. Can anyone please help?

We've been using the save for months, we know how MP mods work
Also it's not related to the problems she's having at all, the save literally won't load and SVE is throwing errors constantly, and the host has extreme lag that only recently started
how does a log look with SVE?
That log is totally unusable as a way of determining what the original problem is because all,it shows is "someone without SVE tried to join a game that has SVE"

I don't have any issues at all, she started getting extreme lag after we updated some mods, then when she tried experimenting to see what could be causing it, SVE started throwing errors. I only have a partial log with our mod list to see what mods needed updating
Full log with the mods and the errors from the farmhand and the host helps best
The ONLY information in that log you provided is that someone with a vanilla game tried to join a game with SVE.
Which is impossible.

I've seen some users having trouble and lag with Dynamic night time, which could also be a problem
We aren't having any lag caused by automate? Automate wasn't one of the mods we updated before she started having issues. The mods we updated were hybrid crop engine, custom companions, spacecore, json assets and generic mod config

I didn't have lag from Automate either at first, but then it started - even when I hadn't updated
If one of you has dynamic night time and the other doesnt that could be contributing to the problems

According to the log, she has Dynamic Night Time 1.3.7
Have her add Warp Snitch to the mods folder and then copy her mods folder to your machine. Then run that farm and get a new log.
(and give us the new logs from both host and farmhand)

Your first troubleshooting step is to make sure host and farmhand have the same mod lists.
Your second troubleshooting step is to install warpsnitch and give us the log.

Hmm. What about changing timespeed to timemultiplier? Otherwise I'd have no other idea. Did the host by chance update windows, change settings, etc?
Disabling animations and background apps in windows settings may help

Like, click new game, make a throwaway new farmer, if the lag persists there its not the save file or the netcode causing the lag

Okay so she tested it on both an old old version of our farm, and a new save, and it works perfectly fine, no extreme lag

hmm.. I got extreme lag when the farm mod I was using was missing a seasonal tilesheet.
adding the missing seasonal tilesheets fixed the lag for me.
(It was lag that made me have like 1 fps)
which season is the old version of your farm?

She did a test where she took out SVE on our farm, and no lag
tbh I have a lot of the mods you use, but the only ones I can think of that may be the cause are either Ferngill rain and weathers, Potc or some of the FTM mods (RSV/SVE). Maybe something added or changed in the second year?
I had some issues with lag a while ago and removing parts of the [FTM] of some mods kinda worked.

the monsters exist even if you're never been there
She's never had issues like this before, it just happened all of a sudden
some of the maps are big, and monster pathing lags like hell on big maps for some people
I think there's a setting in FTM that despawns/doesn't spawn monsters when the player isn't in that area
I hate to jump into your conversation about the lag but I am also experiencing extreme lag issues. I have no idea how to fix it. I am still in year 1. I removed all of my auto grabbers from around the town, turned down all of the monster limit and even turned up automate and still nothing worked.

If you're using a custom farm map, check if ALL the seasonal tilesheets are there. Summer, spring, fall and winter. Their names should start with that.

SVE changes the standard farm map and has sweeping changes to the rest of the world
but like all mods it only affects saves that are loaded while it's active
(also, if you accidentally load a save with the wrong mod loadout, exit without saving and any changes won't stick)
Just gotta remove the mod / disable it before loading into a different save

hi i was wondering if i could get some help please? i only recently started using mods and its saying that smapi has updated, so i dont know what to delete and such, the folder honestly looks like a bit of a mess and i cant really see anything online about it
when SMAPI updates, you can just open up the installer folder (put it in your Downloads folder for example), run the installer and type 1 (or 2) and it'll reinstall itself.
It removes the older version automatically

SVE sometimes reminds me of the Yandere Simulator Desaster.
Especially the addition of new content - which is nice, don't get me wrong - but I'd much prefer optimization for what's already there and focus on one aspect of the expansion at a time. Like Castle Village, which has been teased like forever. I find the Nexus Quest (Late game stuff) a completely unnecessary addition and establishing it sure took a lot of time.

If I have SDV expanded and wanted to start a farm without it, how would I disable the mod so I didn’t delete it but it isn’t loading in on smapi

it will automate machines that are adjacent to each other(etc, if you throw 21 eggs into a chest right next to a mayo machine, it will put a new egg in and put the mayo in the chest)

hello dearies~ could someone help grandma? I'm a little confused! soooooo i was hosting a multiplayer server using my main pc and main steam account (using the host character "granny" as an npc.) but I wanted to free up my main stuff so I transferred the save files and mods between my main newer pc+main steam and my old one with my second steam account.
and i thought this worked because i booted the server up on the older pc with the second account and it let me host me server as granny!
ive ran it for a couple days like this until i went to log in as my playable character in my server on my main pc and main steam and instead of Ginny my playable character its only pulling up Granny the host (after transferring the files, i dont think i made a mistake with switching the files..)
do i just need to edit something in the save file on my main pc (which is the file from the old pc i was playing on) to switch the steam accounts associated with ginny my playable?
can i ask why are xnb files not good? i have a couple and they haven't crashed my game (yet) but i was wondering if i should remove them 🙂

@night radish XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. For mod creators, see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Editing_XNB_files for help unpacking & editing them (including for use with Content Patcher).
However, to put it in layman's terms!
XNBs are the format in which your game files are structured, meaning that XNB directly replace your game files. This is bad for a couple of reasons:
- They can break your game and make it difficult for us modders to troubleshoot it (because they directly override game files). Most modders/mod users don't provide support for troubleshooting XNB related issues since they're so heavily discouraged.
- They are not compatible with other mods. If you want to have a mod that replaced Maru, while using another mod that replaces Alex, you can't. Because both mods would have you replace the characters XNB and you can only have one at a time.
- CP does everything XNB does without even touching your game files, is extensively supported in troubleshooting and we can easily discern what's wrong through your SMAPI log and are compatible with mostly everything! You can have all the different villager replacer (for example) mods of your dreams. Or someone's craftable recolor with someone else's item reskin, etc!

Hi there, I'd really appreciate some help understanding this SMAPI log, I'm using the Cats and Dogs mod which just recently updated to allow you to use more than 3 skins at a time, but for some reason it can't seem to find the skins I've added to the assests folder.

Ah, it says it hasn't been tested on Macs. Might be something to ask ( With your log included ) the mod author about directly under the bugs tab on the Nexus page

you can go to your saves folder (guide below), backup your current save, keep it somewhere safe (you'd need to take out the WHOLE folder, not just a few files in it). then you go to your Stardew Valley folder and find a folder called save-backups, that folder should have backups that are a week old, pick a version by looking at the date, extract it, and put it into your saves folder

daisyniko's tilesheets is missing the comma from the end of line 86 of its content.json. this can be fixed with any text editor program, such as notepad.

Are there any mod packs for SV? I'm currently trying to reverse using the unofficial64bit version and Vortex and it's all a bit of a jumble :S
you can just uninstall vortex and play on the steam version, since the unofficial 64 bit is separate from the official game. but no, there are no mod packs

SMAPI has a problem with being installed when its in your Stardew folder
move it to your downloads/desktop/documents
anywhere else
it's fine in e.g. the mods folder, or literally anywhere else
try fully deleting that folder, reinstall from the site and install it directly from your downloads folder

I currently am running a game with 136 mods, 90% of which are aesthetic mods. But a nice small non-SUPER-cheaty chunk of QOL mods. However, I haven't played in a month now, and I'm trying to decide if I should start a new game or not. I got burnt out from soooooo much playing. But I've kind of been craving it recently. heya asking for some SMAPI install help first time trying to mod Stardew. When I go to install it it says I need .net desktop runtime (x64), which I then installed - but it's still throwing the same error.

👋 hey all, looking for some mod help! I've got several glitches but the newest one is that I suddenly can't use any kind of storage- no wardrobes, no chests, etc. I can access my inventory but nothing else- here's my latest smapi log! https://smapi.io/log/b68205aa278a48a0a47197c59e9c445b I'm assuming it's probably related to the xstorage mods, I've never gotten them to work (any items placed inside disappear pretty much immediately)
My storage was working just fine last night, but today I've opened and closed the game a few times trying to get it to work with no luck
I may not have even got mods working as per above but from the reading I did putting together the mods I wanted to use I read that the xstorage mods are really buggy and problematic when not used isolated so yeah it is probably them.

@raw shore Migrate to the Beta Version of Stardew Valley or remove big mods to avoid further OOMs. SVE is notorious for causing them.

but I’m helping convert someone else’s too!
So around 750g with 25% profit margin, plus a whole month to get it to iridium... Doesn't seem that overpowered.
Wine takes 56 days to iridium. In other words, takes twice as long to double in value
It may not feel overpowered but compared to putting wine into casks, you get your profits at a higher rate per cask.
I had a bunch of furniture packs with CF, so sad none of them are converted yet 
The biggest issue there would likely be if any of the authors have stopped modding and don’t reply, conversions would be difficult to officially release unfortunately
you can always use Alternative Textures to convert furniture from CF. its a lot simpler to use than DGA, but DGA has extra features. ive converted most of my CF packs into AT for personal use
Regarding Alternative Textures, is it in the realm of possibilities to have texture packs for Clothing as well?

not possible, it only works on placeable objects, animals, children and buildings
im unsure about sharing them since the author whose furniture i converted has left the community and has a no distribution rule ;-; but i can teach you how to do it! its super easy, i promise

I'm back again. Same issue as before. But I think it's become a dot net issue not an SMAPI issue.
I restarted as per the last suggestion and rebooted
tried the info command again, after removing the dot net 3.1.8 versions to see if that would help - my PC is now detecting no dot net runtimes whatsoever

Ok, sorry for the silly question
Okay so I fixed it and because it might be useful to people usig the search function or bugfixers in the chat the fix to SMAPI not detecting dot net 5 64x is to big remove completely all dot net on your PC: any 64x, any 32x, anything found in the uninstall window; then run cleanmgr on the primary drive; then restart and then reinstall dot net framework.
