hi hello, im having some trouble with smapi! everything shows up as fine when starting up the game but when i go into the game, almost all of the 1.5 introduced items (such as triple shot expresso or tree fertilizer) just end up being error items? I have everything up to date and smapi is the newest version so I have no idea why this is happening

Not sure if you've solved it already, but that looks like an issue with Murder Drone. I suggest reporting it on that mod's page so the author can look into it.

Hello! Is it just me or is smapi loading things rather slowly this week? I have mine updated thoroughly, all my mods included too. But it somehow gets stuck after some of the mods loaded.

I have most of the mods you have (except for multiplayer mods and part of the community) and it works fine. But it also takes mine 10 to 15 minutes to start the game and ~10 to load a save

It could be some of the multiplayer mods, but I have no experience with those

I got it the second time, I temporarily removed it. Plus it was an unofficial update that I couldn't get on Nexus to start with. I'll reach out to the mod author though.

if the game doesn't load - you can just remove mods and see if it loads now. you can try opening your save without that mod and see what happens, but I always recommend backing up your saves before this just incase :>

you're missing something for multiple floor farmhouse, there are two downloads on that page

if its not, run the smapi installer again and copy the line it gives you
Hello everyone, first post here so forgive me if this isn't the right place. I've been getting consistent issues running mods on 32 bit, constant out of memory issues. I switched to 64 bit, and everything works, but the problem is the game lags like crazy no matter what I'm doing. I'm running it with vsync on and in windowed mode like the page said. There aren't any errors in the console, so I've got no leads. Has anyone had a similar issue? If so how did you fix it?

try getting the unofficial update for it by wally32 https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/unofficial-mod-updates.2096/page-64#post-43898. it was uploaded a few months ago so it might work better

these were unofficial versions, i got them from the xnb to content patcher page on the wiki. i'm not really sure how to use the forum to find newer versions
you have CustomMusic installed twice. Fully delete all folders of it and then reinstall and unzip it in your mods folder again
βοΈ doing this will allow all of those other lines of red to be fixed since they're all dependant. it looks scary and stressful but it's worth reading through it to see if it gives you the answer!
on each mod page (idk if all of them have unofficial versions), you'll go to the posts tab and you can look

how can i change a furniture mod so that only one of the vanilla furnitures changes texture ? i downloaded the chic cute kitchen mod which comes with an island - this island overwrites the winter table . i also have other furniture mods that do this same thing and im trying to fix it but i dont know how >~< can anyone help ?

Does ridgeside come with custom music bundled in it like SVE does? Only thing I can think of

you shouldnt be putting mods inside other mods
everything that comes in its own folder goes into the mods folder without being inserted anywhere else
remove the extra custom music folders you have
and put one only in your mods folder, not the ridgeside folder
this will take a while
you overthought it, I think. You just need to have all the mods and dump them in the same Mods folder. The game takes care of the rest, there's no worrying about piecing them together or load order or any of that.

there's also Timespeed, which gives you keyboard binds for lengthening/reducing the 10-minute intervals on the fly. or pause it outright.

part of why i like time multiplier, you set it on your first day and it just sits the way you set it for the rest of time, so my days last ~4x longer than the normal day forever, and i work within those new constraints. π
It's a cooking mod π more recipes, more crops, new way of cooking
and it has an opt-in community bundle, it doesn't show what the reward is though π¦
I have love of cooking, but I haven't enabled the bundle yet

It's continuous, starts from the moment I boot up the game
Its so strange because 32 bit didn't have this problem
i heard some people had issues with content patcher animations and the mods that require it when using 64-bit, can you try removing those and trying again?

@tired brook Hey. I think I might have figured it out. Turned out just sleeping and progressing the next day after reinstalling and changing the config again made it work. Sorry for the trouble!
okaY uh referring to this issue, this is what happened
it's because of a recolour
i'm not sure how to fix that other than to keep it that way or remove the recolour option of the map or the recolour itself

last time we had a similar error it was because the player got willys special order with a fish called something, but he had a mod that renamed that fish
so it threw errors

if u wanna know what issues there were ask the folks who were using that mod i didn't even LOOK at my game let alone play it whilst there was glitches in updated versions, personally so i wouldn't know what issues there were.
Does anyone know if portrait mods (Specifically the Dcburger portraits mod, as well as the sve and boarding house portrait mods mimicking the style) work on MacOS? Cause the game for some reason doesn't want to use them (I even tried using portraiture for the high-res versions)

If you have the uh.. Generic Mod Config mod, it might have support to where you can edit the config from the title screen instead of needing to restart the game

These errors appear everytime I start a new game/load a save/sleep, I know that they are coming from a hat mod, my question is not about that xp.
Does anyone know if something bad happens if I keep ignoring 'em? The fix has to come from Platonymous, so I can't really do anything on that front other than remove the mod.
It's more of a; "Will it eventually result in crashing/looping/etc" or "It will just keep giving errors every night, but nothing otherwise"

It uses Pytk's scale up feature to show higher resolution. Pathos told me that that feature isn't (fully?) compatible yet with unofficial 64-bit patch so it's giving that error

if you have the Platonic Partners & Friendships mod, setting the same characters you have platonic there as platonic in DSV causes DSV to remove blushing from those characters' love portraits and change those characters' wedding outfits to unique outfits for the platonic commitment ceremony

hey i know how to play stardew valley but i have no clue on how to use mods. can someone give me the basics
depending what you play on, you may not be able to. But basically you download and run the installer for SMAPI, which is the mod-handling program. Then you just unzip mods you want and dump them in the Mods folder smapi creates in your game's file directory.

you install something to run them
if you play on steam then there's a bit more to do after that, you have to tell it to run SMAPI in its launch options.
SMAPI when you install it gives you a command line that you just paste in the text box.
to find the place you just right-click the game, hit properties and it's at the bottom of the General tab

Running Smapi through Steam is a piece of cake honestly
You install Smapi, it gives you thing to copy, you copy, open Steam, open the game's properties, paste it, it's installed
just did my dates so far looks good π

- Open your game folder.
- Hold
shiftand right-click the folder background. - Choose "Open PowerShell window here".
- Run this command:
./StardewModdingAPI.exe
That should launch the game with SMAPI, and when the stack overflow exception happens the console window should stay open so you can post a screenshot.

hi hello, im having some trouble with smapi! everything shows up as fine when starting up the game but when i go into the game, almost all of the 1.5 introduced items (such as triple shot expresso or tree fertilizer) just end up being error items? I have everything up to date and smapi is the newest version so I have no idea why this is happening

So, there was actually a Skyrim modder who deleted his very complicated mod resource that other mods used, basically breaking any mod that didn't cater to his imposed deadline. To make matters worse, the mod worked by manually patching some Skyrim files directly... Which required him to make the patches himself... Which meant that only mods he approved of were supported.
So we had a modder who could strongarm the Skyrim idle mod sub-scene by simply altering the mod and deleting the old versions.
Sooooo The new rules at least prevent this kind of modder power grab.
well yes that might be ok. like, sure it's also bad to do a power grab mod like that, but consider the fact that all creators are allowed to delete their files. bcs they have full control of their own files. take the delete option away, and it will end up something like a parent who let their child out and isn't able to get the child back inside. there's a huge risk of stealing and people monetising mods that they don't even make
and also, maybe some people just don't like the mods they did previously and they wanted it gone. they don't want the baggage as part of their portfolio or whatever reason. they should have the ability to be able to delete the mods they make themselves, because that's their right as a creator
I can't imagine Stardew mods being monetized without significant backlash, honestly. Steam Workshop tried that, and the modding community responded by tearing Bethesda, Valve and the people who took advantage of monetization a new one.
SkyUI was, for a brief period of time, a mod you had to pay to acquire.
even with the power grab mod thing, that's the modder's right to delete it. even if other mods are heavily dependent on it. they are allowed to do whatever they want to their own mod
my personal thoughts are; yes it can prevent a power grab mod, but also it has risks and i feel like it takes away the creator's full rights to their own mods. which, to me personally, is uncomfortable
So... Yeah. I've seen what happens when the modding community has money dangled in front of it. It isn't pretty.

Nexus hasn't monetized their mods, they got rid of deleting but from what I can tell the only money you earn is donation points. You can delete your account with admin permission I believe

Anyone use UI info suite and have a problem with the hands for petting animals (and the milk speech bubbles as well for cows and goats) get skewed way off? To the point you can't tell which animal it's for? I've had the issue before, it got fixed when I started a new game, but it's back now π

This is the first log they shared, which shows a strange Content Patcher error. They noted they get this error with any CP pack, not just Eemie's. Any ideas?

@velvet trench It's failing in the XNA Framework's low-level graphics code. The error isn't very descriptive ("An unexpected error has occurred"), but my guess would be an issue with your graphics drivers. You could try updating your graphics drivers, or installing GeForce Experience (since you have an NVIDIA card) if you don't have it already.

@velvet trench I don't know what else could be causing that unfortunately. The only other solution I can think of is the nuclear option: reformat your computer and hope that'll reset whatever's causing it, but that won't work if it's a hardware issue.

@daring goblet That looks like a bug in the underlying .NET Framework, but you could try updating your mods to see if that helps. SMAPI 3.12 makes a major change under the hood which affects mods like Json Assets, so it's best to get the latest mod versions too.

@gentle glen If you install mods manually, you can just delete the zip files right away; SMAPI doesn't do anything with them. If you mean cached zips from a mod manager like Vortex, you might need to ask in their respective Discords.

The ErrorHandler mod in your Mods folder (it's added when you install SMAPI).
how can i change a furniture mod so that only one of the vanilla furnitures changes texture ? i downloaded the chic cute kitchen mod which comes with an island - this island overwrites the winter table . i also have other furniture mods that do this same thing and im trying to fix it but i dont know how >~< can anyone help ?

You need smapi inorder to use the mods right so if you have any problems you get a error logs and what ever else to get help
(They have SMAPI installed, they're just missing one of the default mods.)

Yep. Error Handler is useful for tests like this, since it'll let you load the save even if it contains custom content that no longer exists.

Gotcha, will do. The timing of this launch for custom music seems pretty insane, even if it's large music files. On an NVME it's sitting at 6-7 minutes to load!
Removing the second CustomMusic seemed to drop load time quite drastically. MO2 says 90 active, but from the SMAPI logs they appear to all be loading shortly before this point.

I have a weird error happening. (For reference im using the mod manager with Nexus) Everything deploys just fine up until I'm actually able to move around in the game. Then it freezes every other second with enormous errors popping up in the console

Hello! I'm getting a long string of Texts from Pytk in Smapi when I try and launch the game so I'd just like to ask if that's normal since I've never really had the text before?
I think it just started appearing when I updated Smapi to 3.12.0 and it's still appearing at 3.12.2. (Not a red text, just a normal, long line, of grey/white texts)

Ive run into a SMAPI crash twice now.

I used to run into those errors until i upgraded to 64 bit on windows. It can be done.

Search the web. There were a few things to try like giving the game more access to more memory but that did not work for me.
It's not that hard! and if you're going to be adding more mods, you will need this eventually.
If you really don't want to do those steps, you can remove mods and hope for the best the OOM errors don't happen again
