Okay, I will try again to get my URL for the error issue I keep getting with my friend. It's probably an issue with something my folders or mods have iono.
So small update, apparently the issue with my save file was Ridgeside village's festival on the 20th Fall. Not sure why but apparently you can't load the game onto the 20th, it's only playable if I load the game on the 19th and play straight through until the 21st and close the game.
Can anyone tell me the link again in order to go to that Logger?

question - I'm downloading stardew expanded, are the "custom music" "custom npc fixes" and "custom npc exclusions" folders within the stardew expanded download the actual respective mods? or would i need to also download those separately? I wanna run expanded and ridgeside

gotcha, i usually tend to unzip all my mods in a separate folder and then copy-paste those into my game mods folder (it just makes it easier for me to keep track of what has/hasn't been downloaded)

That fixed it, how do you find that #. There are a few other random sprites that I cant till that are grass.

@silent lily You can use Lookup Anything with EnableTileLookups enabled in its config.json to see tile info. Then lookup the tile when it's showing the frame that isn't working, and look for the tile ID field.

@ashen vapor SMAPI has a built-in way to do it: prefix the folder name with a dot and SMAPI will ignore it. So if you have a bunch of mods you want to disable in multiplayer for example, you can do this:

Then just rename only single-player to .only single-player to disable all the mods inside it.
You can also use a mod manager like Vortex or ModDrop to do it, they usually have a profiles/loadout features to do it for multiple mods too.

I am in tiled. and I have highlight on such tile, (the blue ones). but i cant figure out what the # is. It selects all the tiles with the same # but does not actually tell me what the # is as far as i can tell. @tired brook
choose the layer it is on top right, then rightclick it and it'll say what index it is on the left

I was just reading the Modding Dialogue wiki (don't know if it's outdated or not)... what I want to know is how to increase the random number choices for different dialogues... for ex: it says rainy day dialogues are chosen after the program does a random choice from 0 to 4. Does that mean that you can only use 5 different lines of dialogue for that particular slot?
If you are married to an NPC for a goodly while, dialogue gets really repetitive

What happens to dialogue when you add a dialogue mod? Like one of the expansion mods? Does the new mod take precedence over the pre-existing dialogue choices, or are they somehow added onto what was there?

you have to click manual download, and then extract the zip file, take the folder ONLY and put it in the mods folder

When your game saves it should fix the issue (as its suposed to have removed the extra info)

I don't remember removing a mod. My map is back to the standard SDV map and everything is vanilla

yeah, vortex is nice for a few mods and then you realize you cant get far with it without something going wrong, you better manually install your mods in the mods folder

@worn trout Ok, BACKUP YOUR SAVE GAME! ๐ just making that clear. Then start by fixing your "skipped mod" issue then load your game go to sleep so it saves and restart the game, it SHOULD have remove all the useless data it was complaining about from the save game.

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

It needed Pathos to update it to 1.3 I don't know why it says 1.2 if he is certain that he loaded 1.3, but that is what the message starts off with
that can be caused by the dev forgetting to update the version number in the manifest.json file

The way I see it your have 2 options: 1- restore your savegame backup and this time try to figure out which mod is involved in removing your crops and keep it installed 2- Leave things as is and start your crops and planted trees from scratch

I got a bit of a issue with the map in SVE. Some buildings like willow lane when i hover over it its fine, but buildings like the sewer pipe and willy's shop show up in their old position even if the actual buildings isn't there. Furthermore new buidlings and locations don't have a popup as well

oh no you dont need to do that, when you unzip the new one, open the folder and run the installer again

hi, im playing on a mac and i was able to get my multiplayer fixed after it broke, and i just now reinstalled smapi to try some mods.. but now that my mods are working on my game, my multiplayer wont. i tried doing the pinned message but i cant find the line or figure out how to do it

I'm having an issue with some mods. The screen and enemies freeze at exactly 4:30 pm. I was thinking it was an issue with scheduling for NPCs, but I couldn't find anything in the log about that. There are errors that say "ERROR game] An error occurred in the base update loop: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
I can still move, but the screen will not scroll unless I pause. The log said it couldn't parse because it was too large. Should I delete parts of the log?

hm, im not sure tbh. can you try removing it and testing? but it also looks like you're using medieval SVE/way back pelican town, so if its not your recolor doing that, try removing this mod and checking?

but dunno if it's related of course

And do you know if anti-social npcs is required for any mods? I'll try taking out that and the mandalorian ones and see what happens
it was creating a circular route for the npcs (might've been in connection with another mod) and that messes their pathing badly
mind you, AntiSocial does that every 10 seconds without an issue
antisocial npcs probably doesn't cause it

you'd make great strides in solving it if you attached a harmony prefix to warpCharacter() to get the name of the NPC that's asplode

it looks to me like you've downloaded the SMAPI installer, unzipped it somewhere temporary, and are now viewing the installation script instead of running the installation script

You can find older versions on Nexus (back to 2.5.5) and GitHub (back to 1.0.0): https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/releases. Each release mentions which version of Stardew Valley it's for, so you can just go back until you find the latest one for the game version you have.

Older versions of SMAPI didn't provide a default option to specify a custom game path. If they detect your newer game folder, just rename it temporarily so the installer doesn't see it, then it should ask for the game path.

So I'm having an issue with Animal Husbandry Mod
when I get the feeding basket, if I either a) hover over it in my inventory or b) interact with a chest with it in my inventory, the game crashes
I am on Linux btw
I'd like to either a) fix the crash (preferable) b) remove the mod, without borking my current save or c) save edit out the feeding basket from either my mail or inventory
however I'm not sure what exactly is causing the crash other than it's somehow tied to the basket and the main save editor doesn't seem to work in wine

i'm going to try to go through a full day, then check my mail before i go to bed with the basket in my inventory, then try to save edit it out (going to windows to use the save editor if i have to)

hey I downloaded the cosy cafe mod but I can't find the furniture
Sent a few messages about this earlier and thought I fixed it. I was getting frozen enemies, environment, and screen at exactly 4:30 in-game earlier, but could still move my character. I removed a mod and tested it and was able to make it past that time without problems. However, now the same issue is happening but at around 8:40, happened a few times now. Thinking it might be my sprinting mod since the error seems to have to do with movement and warping, but I don't understand why that would happen at a specific time like it is doing. Here is the log, thanks if you can spot anything off.

Oh yeah I don't have item spawner so maybe that's the only way I can find it? there is an older version which functions the same but uses CF for the furniture
npc map locations has been buggy recently, not sure what's causing it but im not sure if there's a fix, ive personally temporarily removed it until it's good again

I don't know if that's what caused my save to duplicate, because I tried to delete the second one, but apparently they're the same save even though they appear as two different ones on the load menu because deleting save #2 also deleted save #1. So I had to unzip and copy a save backup into my saves folder, but they still appear as two saves

Ok couple things:
- you have Entoarox Modding Utilities installed but nothing that requires it. You can get rid of it
- you have several mods to update. Always good to do that, especially for BFAV
3 a) the first block of red text, Skipped mods, shows you have several issues. I'm not sure what's going on with Bug Net though.
3 b) It seems there are mods that were either uninstalled incorrectly or are XNB mods. For XNB mods, you can search here for CP conversions here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods
For the ones installed incorrectly, try reinstalling. For the XNB mods, remove them and search for CP conversions.
3 c) There are 2 mods for which you have duplicates. Follow the instructions in the error message to fix those installations - You do actually have an earlier JA error, which I suspected. You actually have several: duplicate objects from Goose Products, duplicate items from Exotic Animals and Blue Chicken Products, and duplicate items from Artisan Valley and Exotic Animals. These duplicate items are what's causing your later errors from JA. You need to delete the duplicate items from each set of the mods adding the same item. That will fix the issue. JA can't add 2 items with the same name.

If the latest version is the one you downloaded, then it's just a typo in the manifest.json with the version. However, there were several in which the version number was significant, so I'd confirm you downloaded the latest version by the date downloaded.

i think this is the error which is causing the other error repeated however many times (https://smapi.io/log/a00b9b9f82114b1f93c1a51ccb1b5e89 - the massive chunks of red error messages about JSON) but i cannot make sense of it and what i need to do to fix it
it's claiming that the "target area is outside the bounds of the target texture", surely that means that i need to move the folders around? or something?

43 mods should not cause stuttering. Do you have a log?

Hello, I know that the looking for love mod is not compatible with SVE but I want to use Who's High Res Wizard Portrait mod but this mod needs the LfL mod. Can I use the portrait mod on its own?
I tried setting cpu priority to high and turn off cpu 0 in task manager but I'm still stuttering
what's your hardware look like? are you trying to run it on a TI-82? cause no errors, my next thought is hardware.

I have found the culprit (haven't tested other maps) it is ChestEx, as it doesn't happen when i remove chestex. I'm gonna tell the author ;-;

No, but you can also change out their sprite for the one you want... just be sure to rename everything exactly like it is in SVE

For the Wizard to use 9 expressions, they have to be called in the dialogue... for ex: Don't do that!! $5
which would use the Wizard angry expression
If you have more than the basic expressions you would have to label them with unique "names" for ex: $b for Wizard Bedazzled
Most all strange stuff happens in modded... or because of it
I noticed that you have loaded the "coded part of Stardew Aquarium" ... that doesn't really look like a usual mod. (mind you I have no experience with the Aquarium) Why don't you try disabling it temporarily and see if it makes a difference?
You can temporarily disable mods by just putting a period in front of their names in your mod list

so i have unmodded on my laptop and i have 100 hours in a save game and on my pc itโs modded and i started a new world there but i see that my saved game has 60 hrs not 100

I'm trying modding for the first time, I'm using votex from nexus and have installed just two mods, SMAPI and NPC Map Locations but whenever I attempt to launch via vortex nothing happens?

Vortex sometimes fails to install mods correctly, particularly if there are existing files with the same name

Just tried out SVE, it's absolutely amazing... 
One question though, in the CP folder, there are files that override the Marlon and Gunther portraits, but I prefer to use Portraiture HD portraits, how do I make them work? Right now it's just displaying the pixel portraits in-game even though I have the files for portraiture
hey! i had some problems with my game crashing mid-day and smapi gave me a very long crashlog saying its possible other memory in the computer is corrupted, so i performed a memory test and everything was fine. i verified the game files on steam and started the game again. this time, the day went normally, but it crashed again on the next day and gave me another, much shorter crashlog that also indicated other memory is corrupted. im hesitant to play more because im not sure whats going on and i was hoping someone here is maybe familiar with this. the only mod ive had any "issues" with was the horse overhaul mod, it would sometimes say "[Horse Overhaul] Stable says there is a saddle bag chest, but I couldn't find it!" in the smapi thing, but that never caused any in-game problems so i just ignored it for a while. should i just remove that one mod and try again or is this a different issue? i have both crashlogs saved if that helps
