theoretically it can be done, but you'd need to read through the mod descriptions and comments to make sure you wouldn't have issues.
But also people who do that from the get go are both impressive and terrifying. I may have 450 mods now, but that collection took me over a year 
I tend to rush mods when I get a new game. But I've also been using mods for oh so many years. >_>
But yeah, what @royal arrow said is important - read through the mod descriptions carefully.
I've been modding for years as well but I still prefer to get through the game for a bit with no mods.

Manifests are probably out of date, you can fix them yourself
In those cases it's likely the mod author forgot to update the version in the download*

One of my own mods has an out of date manifest so pot, kettle

Inside the mod folder, you'll have a file called manifest.json or just manifest
It's just a file that comes with every mod that says the name, author, version, and things
It's a text file so you can edit it yourself if you want to get rid of that warning, otherwise it's not big deal

Yea you can turn off pings in replies, too. If I'm actively in the chat, I'd rather not get pinged because I'm here, I'll see it. Replies are super cool because you can link to what you're referring to without having the big quote that just re-posts what you're referring to.
Very helpful when chat is popping here and people can follow the multiple conversations better.
Discord replies are the best we have at the moment, I really wish we had threaded support, but it's nice that there is some continuity to conversations now
okay SO edited the manifests, updated elevator, made sure i've installed sve properly... i'll restart my computer, reset and then see if everything's good again!

there's some stuff to update that i hadn't noticed, but other than that, it doesn't seem to have any issues with anything else
My two best guesses are xnb files are not vanilla, or a CP mod is patching the big craftable spritesheet
Neither of those would cause errors, just unintentional behavior

So they kind of put you in a position to use their mod without any other mods that add BigCraftables
can i add something like that manually?
Looks like they only put the Japanese Paper Lamps into bigcraftable because as furniture they can't be put outside
So you can just edit the mod to remove that and call it a day
Or convert that one object into JA format
The whole reason we use JA is to avoid this issue
Furniture is fine, that's on a separate sprite sheet
it's weird because the only things listed as bigcraftables are the outside lamps
(It may cause furniture collisions)

i have another mod that seems to use bigcraftables as well, the Junimo Box one, but it never came up as an issue either
You'd basically create a new JA Mod and copy the assets over. Fine for personal use, or you can suggest it to the mod author.

Not for furniture, just the lamps. That should be the only thing editing BigCraftables.

You can copy the CP edit, but replace where it hardcodes the parentsheetindex with a JA Token
Unless that's something which JA already supports, I'm not familiar with that
CF can do lamps as well
although they will then be furniture instead of craftables

Sometimes all you can so is remove mods until it works then add them back in until it breaks and in that manner identify the problematic one. Its tedious though
Also careful about loading into your previous saves, as removing some mods can break the save, remember don't save. I always test modding out on new saves, just in case ๐

It should work, but you may need to do a clean installation to make sure there are no stray files from earlier versions

hi, suddenly my game is crashing for a fish pond error, i have sdve , more fishes and sdv medieval skins but as soon as the game loads my 3rd fish pond that has a mantaray at 10/10 or 9/10 (lower than that didnt have a problem) it crashes everytime. does anyone knows how to ix this?
depends. If it's purely visual like a recolor, or a dialog mod, then you don't need to have it. Those changes are specific to the player who has the mod installed. More details below

hey guys, I changed my farm to the upgraded hilltop farm recently, so my pond was removed in the process, leaving the crab pots floating in a cliffside; the issue I'm having is that the crab pots seem to be stuck there now. I removed the mod and attempted to remove the crab pots, but they wouldn't budge. It let me put bait in them though, so now they have products.
I've played most of this season on the upgraded farm, so I really don't wanna bother with restoring a backup save. I was just wondering if there was a mod/tool that would let me erase the crab pots entirely. Thanks!
You might be able to reach them with No Clip Mode
this โฌ๏ธ and if the issue is that they're not removeable because they're not in water (?) you could put back the old farm mod for 1 day, remove the crab pots, and then change back to your new farm mod the next day. You could even roll back the day using debug commands so you don't lose the day either, debug day X.
does anyone have the link to a decent save editor? I tried using one to basically get my save back to what it was on my PS4 (I just got it on PC) but it only worked in some aspects

I tried this, as well as No Clip like punk suggested, but was unable to pick them up. Even when I reverted the farm to the vanilla version. It was weird that it let me put bait in, but not pick them up. Even tried with a swim mod, no luck
You don't use the old versions. You use the latest. SVE handles it's own location data now, but you still need the NPC mod

I got back from the Fair, went to get some stuff from the machines I had, since they weren't put into the chests by Automate (this is a quirk with Festival End Time Tweak), and the weirdest thing happened. The grass flashed in and out of existence, and then the game crashed .-. I've never had a crash like this before. Beware I have a ton of mods so the log is big. The errors were hard for me to understand, and they don't mention Festival End Time Tweak. Any ideas would be helpful

So, something weird is going on in my game. Some items are having their names changed for some reason, like my watermelon products are now wisteria products. My juniper berry products got named to lemon products. There's no errors in SMAPI, so this is really weird. Also my Artichoke Syrup got changed to Fairy Duster Pod. I'm sure there's a bunch more that are not named correctly.
It's called a JSON scramble, happens when you add new JSON mods into a existing save ๐

It's a mod loader, not a mod manager
You download your mod and then unpack that mod into the Mods folder, then load the game with SMAPI

You can't if you've already saved and no, it doesn't. You can, however, replace the new things with what you had before by spawning them in with CJB Item Spawner if you remember what they were
I don't but I have a really good idea on what they were since all of my processes for my crops are separated into their own thing. So I guess the mod is basically stuck in my game now since I can't just remove it?
The IDs of everything would get scrambled again, I believe, if you remove the other mod
JA when it adds to the game gives the items ID # like the game has, but if you add or remove a pack, these numbers get changed

What I've taken to doing is removing the last JA mod I installed, go take screenshots of all my chests that have JA items, for reference. Then add the JA mod, trash the scrambled items, and spawn the correct ones in based on the screenshots
This assumes you haven't saved with the IDs already scrambled

Unfortunately I did, since I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at first. But SMAPI does have a save backup feature, so I could just restore one of those saves from before the mess I believe.

Might be due to Multiplayer. Errors seem linked to PyTK which is not installed on all players involved. The orange text will tell you more
Search Multiplayer Mod Checker in your log (you can use ctrl + f to find it quickly) and it'll tell you which mods are or aren't installed on which player

Paths. If you look in the mod's config file you'll see which ones are enabled currently, you can also add in your own
the mod APK is free. however, you need to have a legal copy of the game from the Play Store in order to use it. as a reminder, please don't discuss pirating the game or ask for help with a pirated copy here!
(you can get plenty of cheats using mods, most of which will be MUCH more stable than ones on hacked apks)

@gentle roost SMAPI tells you which are outdated by saying to check for an update. However most of those there are either outdated or do not have all the files they need in order to work.

I am having some stuck loading screens, can anybody help? When I try to load my save, I get stuck on infinite loading screen. I am about 6 hours into the game, which took place across multiple sessions meaning I have been able to load it fine before now. I've been playing on co-op but the save won't load in singleplayer either.

I've tried restarting my computer, reinstalling all the mods, reinstalling the whole game, and reverting to the "_old" backup saves but i have had no luck so far. I have had someone else open my save from their computer and it worked fine and similarly I am able to open other saves. If anybody has a suggestion pls lmk!

you can't catch fish on custom maps with Tehs installed. It's not an SVE issue, it's a Tehs issue. There's a way around it, but I haven't done it (or used Tehs, just helped people trouble shoot it)

Hi, some plants ||I mean Hot Peppers|| give me usually 1-2 fruits after harvesting, but sometimes they give me more then 20 I think one of my mods changes something

The Awesome Professions/Walk of Life has a farming profession on 5 lvl that makes I have 10% chance to get an extra harvest
I think in vanilla game the same profession is rising prices of crops by 10%

Instead of using Vortex, manual downloading mods is the better option. Vortex can cause issues with SDV mods

the only thing i can think to do at this point is delete everything and completely restart because every time i open the save it just goes back to the concernedape screen

Update your BFAV mod, Remove the smapi installer the extra copy of Shiko NPC mod from your mods folder. Let's fix the errors showen telling Couldn't be loaded first.
(You can also either remove Bug Net or install PPJA Fresh meat so Bugnet will not give error)

no but if you read down at the ja errors, some of its issues are from not finding the right sprite sheets, and it tells you what the sheet is it's looking for

Well, there's two types of people who game. Those that continue to play on an old save and do new things (since there's so much to do anyways when it comes to mods), or those that continuously play on new saves, most times things are different but never really a challenge when you already know what you're doing. Either method works, since video games are not always catered to one type of gamer.
Stardew Valley modding is more forgiving than say... Skyrim, where a mod update sometimes means you have to start anew 
Or trying mods on console games, where you can't really mod without custom firmware.
I've never used the latter, but I do enjoy the look of the former in my game ๐

- It's a game I never played. (Obviously)

!saves @sick cave You remove the corrupted, old save. Find it using the link. Then go to Stardew Valley/save-backups folder and get the latest save zip/rar. Then extract the zip/rar. Which ever save you deleted first (like if it's Farm_246279185 you just should get the exact Farm_246279185 named folder from the extracted zip/rar) and put it to your saves folder.

I've tried restarting my computer, verifying files, reinstalling all the mods, reinstalling the whole game, and reverting to the "_old" backup saves but i have had no luck so far. I have had someone else open my save from their computer and it worked fine and similarly I am able to open some of my other worlds. If anybody has a suggestion pls lmk!

i delete the whole folder
Redownload SVE and move the folders outside of the Stardew Valley Expanded folder when you put them into the mods folder, see if that helps ๐

yeah, the button activation spots, scarecrow/sprinkler range overlay and petting indicators don't match up if you aren't 100% zoom

yea a lot of framework mods went through big changes at the same time the 1.5 update dropped, so I think that might be a factor, similar to the OOMs getting worse at the same time
when i open stardew with mods, there's no sound. it works totally fine without mods but with mods there's no sound. does anyone know why that might happen?

yes and ive double checked the mods i have ive even redownloaded and installed all for the ones it claims to be missing
that is why I have two sections of placing mods into the game
i think it might be the isla mods but idk. ive given up trying to find the issue myself figured id ask here..
do you have the mods both Enabled and Deployed? The only bit I know about Vortex is that it's 2 steps

Personally, I recommend installing mods manually

i rather not install big mods manually honestly
Big mods would be where the managers are most likely to fail.
You can even install the mods to a different folder and create a shortcut with a launch argument pointing it to the new folder so you can keep it separate
There's a command about mod profiles but I forget what it is

well, the last time I had install a big one was Morrowind and it crashed until i gotten a mod manager

Stardew is a bit different in that regard. For some reason the mangers don't play nice and it's easier to just manually install.

I know AntiVirus can bugger up the installation of SMAPI as well, might be worth checking out
So it could be dumb luck as far as when it does the file scan.

This is the third time, the other two times I played a bit longer. Just now, though, I was only on Day 4.
Antivirus update maybe. Windows updates maybe - and they're the same thing if you're using Defender. Kinda spitballing here (as usual :V)

That doesn't look like Nightmare's, but then again, I only did the CP of his weapons and tools, not the JA of his additional ones
Anyway, yeah - unless someone's got a better idea, turning off active protection and trying again would at least help eliminate antivirus as a cause.
