I played the game a year ago. Worked fine. Then I downloaded smapi and played as well. Now came to play v 1.5 and it doesn't work. Removed smapi and mods in attempt to get the game to launch.

I personally would try removing the folder Stardew Valley from steamapps\common (if it exists) and clean reinstall but this doesn't look like mods issue.

if u don't launch the game through StardewModdingAPI.exe and instead use Stardew Valley.exe , then smapi has no impact on the game

@tight halo if you notice its setup in steam 2.0 not steam. i attempted to change a whole new save folder for steam since the original wasnt working
There's missing items there in his game, he didn't delete the whole game and reinstall it

The compatibility page is only for C# SMAPI mods and that is a Content Patcher (CP) content pack.
It does work with 1.5
Plus the mod page shows its most recent update.

I have POTC installed among other mods, it's now day 7. Talking to people every day (Not everyone) and even gifted joja owner on day 2 (His birthday). Shouldn't I see at least SOME hearts or partially? No one has any. Or don't they appear until a full heart? Been a while.

Show Heart Fills is enabled. So then something is wrong, I suppose. Would there be an easy way to know for sure? A dandelion that instantly brings someone to 1 heart or something.

you'd have to figure out when it was uploaded and make sure it's old enough to have theoretically worked on that version of the game / SMAPI. I believe the Android SMAPI was updated for SMAPI 3.7.6, so you'd have to do some detective work to find what date SMAPI 3.7.6 was posted on nexus, then go to the PyTK page and find a version of PyTK that was posted around that time

you can sort old versions of mod files on nexus by upload date, if that helps! so like, on the PyTK / SMAPI page, the old files section can be sorted by date

dang i- i got it to exclude and give me back the dll for rented services but it wont exclude self services dll when i try to reextract it after telling norton to ignore it

I'd recommend taking a look at Lemurkat's mods on nexus. All her mods are excellent. For NPCs she has Mr. Ginger, Juliet and Jessie, Professor Jasper Thomas, and within East Scarpe there's Jacob and Eloise

you can ignore that harmless message, however if you'd like one more mod of recipes, batter is found in "zosa and bonster's recipes"

Does anyone here use Diverse Stardew Valley (or similar large content packs), and experience a lag skip every time the in-game clock changes? I have an optimization in the next Content Patcher update that should fix that.

ye I had some amount of lags and skips before installing DSV, but they definitely became more pronounced after installing it
dsv legit takes a minute or two to load in game-launch, which has never happened to me before.

hey guys i just realized something
a while ago i installed the mod Harvest with Scythe
but i didn't really liked it and deleted it
i played again a couple days later and didn't remember i deleted so i kept playing like normal, just now i realized that i wanted to delete it again and it's already gone, but i still have to harvest with scythe
can this happen at all?
It depends how the mod works. Each crop has a harvest type flag, and harvest with scythe mods often work by changing that to the scythe type. So in that case any crops that were planted when the mod was installed will still need the scythe, and any new crops you plant will be back to normal.
its weird because im pretty sure i deleted that mod some days ago, and im playing on a brand new save
the only "crops" i can take by hand are the forage ones when i plant them as seeds

What if you temporarily remove all mods except Content Patcher and its content packs? A number of other mods you have like Farm Type Manager and Json Assets can be pretty resource intensive.

What I'm specifically seeing happens every 10 in-game minutes. With the alpha CP alone, it was every 10 in-game minutes. With the alpha SMAPI in addition to alpha CP, it's less frequent, but the skip still happens on the 10min-change, if that makes sense.

Enabling verbose logging will cause a lot of lag though, so it might be hard to tell when lag is caused by the original issue. If you can't tell, just play a while until it would normally have lagged a few times.

Hello everyone, can I ask for help here about a bug caused by a mod I think? Whenever I try to sleep, the game just ends up in black screen but the music keeps playing. I could not progress to the next day thought and could not save. The SMAPI console is also showing a red text continuously.
I have no idea what is causing it though
When I pressed M as soon as I woke up no. 10-20 in-game minutes later, it happened again.

the problem is happening because you don't take your mods out of their containing zip folders (with the numbers) when updating. this is leading to you having multiple copies of your mods. the easiest way to update mods is to double click the zipped folder and drag everything inside straight into Mods

And all I really did with it was make it work with 1.5

There would be some modders who would keep it closed source to most people, and then open source it to people who they feel could carry the torch and preserve the vision of what they wanted.

When if I were to make a mod, program it, etc, I wouldn't really want to make it public open source, but just open it up to a small group of people who I feel would be able to bounce ideas off of, and possibly take over on it when I felt I did all I could do with it.
Pathos does a great job of with the compatibility list too

So RSV will work without QF.

it just looks like you have some weird installation issues for your mods
try manual instead of using vortex, it looks like vortex has messed up quite a few of your mod folders
Quest Framework is somewhat bugged. The bug reports and complaints became bothersome to deal with so the author hid the mod for a couple of days.
The author re-stored the file right now so it's available again.
Because of the bugs, Ridgeside changed QF into an optional dependency for anyone wanting to have the QF experience.
For those who do not want to deal with the bugs, it's an optional download.
I'm working with the author of QF to fix QF to a stable state where it can be safely relied upon as a required dependency.
you also may have not enabled some of them in vortex, but really we recommend manual install for SDV to avoid issues like this

Hi! Sorry to interrupt the flow of conversation. I just started a new save with a load of mods and when I enter the community center, my screen stays black and I get all sorts of error text. I don't know how to read the errors/figure out what's happening, but I have a feeling I know what the problem is. Could someone take a look at it for me so I can attempt to confirm it? it also looks like you install your mods by unzipping the whole folder into the mods folder, so you have multiple copies of some mods because they didn't overwrite. to fix that, take the folders out of those larger folders with long names, like Modname-1.5-123456789

I'm back, still having some trouble with the TimeSpeed mod
For days I've been trying to get different versions to work, but whenever I tried loading up the game with it, my SMAPI log would say it couldn't load because "it contains files, but none of them are manifest.json"
someone know if i can remove the 3x5 red area in front of the cave without using mod

that's not your log, it's a screenshot of an error and doesn't help us much. but i think your issue is that your antivirus quarantined the dll, you need to redownload the mod, reinstall and remove the dll from quarantine

no, ALL hasn't been updated since 2019 and is not necessary for SVE. it used to be a very long time ago
SVE uses TMXL Map Toolkit
oh i fixed my issues! i used Vortex's purge mod thing and re-enabled all my mods and everything is fine now

SVE does have a mod id StardewValleyExpandedALL because it used to use ALL, but it uses TMXL now
make sure you have all other dependencies for SVE
when you install mods, do you leave them in the folders with a bunch of numbers?

yank those out of the folders with numbers and try again
probably one of your mods just gave up the ghost bc it has five different subfolders and just couldn't be read

I tried asking someone with microsoft support where the quarantined files would be, and they said that the antivirus doesn't quarantine files
So I guess I'll just keep looking
have you tried redownloading the mod, deleting the old folder and reinstalling?
