I'm trying to get my cosmetic mods all set up - I'm using Flower Valley, Daisy Niko's Earthy Recolour, and Foliage Redone. If there are some assets I want from one mod but not another mod - is it okay if I just remove that asset from the mod file?
Or would it be better for me to combine it into one?
If you're capable of combining them that's probably best. I assume if you start ripping files out of individual mods smapi is going to complain/error/crash if those mods are pointing to files and can't find them

Curseforge cannot install SDV mods, Stardew is not supported

you manually install a mod by first installing SMAPI, downloading the mod you want, unzipping it, and moving the unzipped folder into your Mods folder.
Honestly? I have no idea. I'm guessing some Minecraft modders decided to back their stuff up there just in case? I've not seen any mods there that aren't also on Nexus or Moddrop

i'd directly install smapi and then maybe use vortex tbh-- just be careful with the latter
SDV modding is pretty much drag-and-drop, so it's not really much work. Vortex struggles with mods that have multiple options. Like, if there is "download either the blue version or the red version" Vortex tries installing both at once
yeeeah nexus is a good hosting platform but there ARE times where you for sure want to do a manual download
the other day it was just installing duplicates when i was trying to update thru vortex -___-
I use moddrop to download mods from nexus. Easier management than totally manual but I can always manually download a mod and drag it into moddrop if moddrop is being persnickety. Haven't tried vortex, but people seem to have issues with it.

This question sort of relates to mods so I hope that someone here can hopefully help me. Every once in a while, when downloading mods, Nexus Mods will show a prompt requesting you to consider donating to the creators of the many mods that you have downloaded and follows this up by showing a list of the mods you have downloaded from the site. Is there any way to view which mods you have downloaded besides when this propmpt appears? I'm trying to find the name of a mod I downloaded on my old pc that I can't remeber the name of.

i'm glad it was an easy fix-- a bit back i was trying to use SVE and only half the mod and none of the maps were loading XD
i think i fixed the issue, but i can't be sure until my dang game actually starts
well, first test of new mod set was a moderate success! Ran around, found a bunch of new items in shops, found East Scarpe, promptly fell off a cliff and into the river, got stuck in the river, climbed out near nightfall, got attacked by a crab, stumbled into the mountain, ended up on the wrong side of the boulder, and passed out. I think this shall set the tone for my new farmer, who may be a walking catastrophe.

CCCB is good if you're looking for a challenge. It may seem extreme at first but once you start planning for the bundles it changes the way you play the game in a good way IMO
Like I know I cant finish everything in year 1, and that's kind of a relief, and I know I have to grow different crops that I normally wouldn't in year 2 to fill out parts of the bundle
It's even better with the PPJA addon because your crop selection is much bigger

you can install only parts of it if it's too overwhelming. I've just started using PPJA and decided not to use Florist to Farmer, for example
It's up to you. The diversity is nice, and if you go for PPJA Artisan Valley you get a lot more machines to process things into new products

Yeah you have to copy the BigCraftables folder from GV's addon mod into AV
in addition you can use a furniture mod or wallpaper/floor mod, to completely change your house

You'll still have the blueprints if you already started, so you either have to start a new game or use the save editor to remove them
give the goblin some batteries and start buying a bunch of machines
I actually remember why they're not gated. The level up screen that shows what recipes you learn when you sleep is really limited and bugs out badly if it has too many items

Those dependencies are used by a ton of mods, so you might as well grab them if you're going to mod heavily

I believe all of those edits could be done in JA with soft dependencies instead rather than file overwrites
The removed crops may still be a problem, but you wouldn't be overwriting the entire files if PPJA updates other fields

I posted yesterday about having some vanilla items that cause issues when hovering over them, even with all mods disabled. I wasn't able to debug it further. Is there a mod command to view all 1.5 item data on an item in a chest? Or is there a way for me to remove all items from a chest/a chest itself so my save is salvageable?

I had that issue happen in our game, and it basically corrupted our save
The bandaid solution for us was going into the save file and deleting the items in question
For us I think it had to do custom furniture? So we ended up fully uninstalling it and making a new save file
Also, sometimes mods can corrupt your save file so if the damage is done, even if you remove the mods the damage stays
this is one of the bugs where that happens
delete the folder(s) completely from your mod folder and then redownload the updated file
That's boring

And "Deluxe hats" -- I'm playing with SVE with "stronger monsters" enabled
and all of the sudden, I'm doing like 150 damage with every swing to every enemy ... sometimes 400 or so
I uninstalled both mods ... but it's still happening.
so ive been playing SV on console for about 1 1/2 year now and today switched to PC for 1.5 (i couldnt wait for it to come out on console xD). i havent watched any vids nor seen any spoilers etc (except for QoL changes) but im debating if i should do a full 1.5 playthrough first or SV expanded (heard a lot of great things bout it)? please let me know thanks, greatly appreciated :)

Expanded pretty much does just that! Expands the world, adds new npc, adds new events, it's all incredibly organic!
Trust me you won't regret doing them together!
It'll be for a much wider stardew experience and it's fun stuff
Also, 1.5 mostly has QoL changes and the additions are once you finish the CC- so having SVE will give you fun stuff to do and explore before you finish the CC

Okay so back away from the inside of the folder, and grab the whole [CP] Stardew Valley Foliage redone folder, and put it in hyour mods folder
That's literally all you gotta do ๐ SMAPI should then read it and add it to your game

Most OSes let you do that normally without 3rd party software. On Windows, use Win+Shift+S to do a snip that copies to your clipboard.
Hey guys, I have 2 mods that modify the greenhouse. One is the Immersive Farm 2 Remastered, cause' I am using Stardew Valley Expanded. And the other mod is Multi Player Greenhouse. How can I delete or make it so that the immersive farm 2 remastered greenhouse doesn't apply?

SMAPI detected a potential issue with asset replacement for 'Maps\Farm_Greenhouse_Dirt' map: mod reordered the original tilesheets, which often causes crashes.
Technical details for mod author:
Expected order ['Maps\paths' (id: Paths), 'Maps\spring_outdoorsTileSheet' (id: untitled tile sheet)], but found tilesheet 'untitled tile sheet' at index 2 instead of 1. Make sure custom tilesheet IDs are prefixed with 'z_' to avoid reordering tilesheets.
delete the folder you have currently and replace it with the new one, you should stop having issues with the config menu not letting you tick things @glossy bone

I'm having issues with SVE. I've downloaded all the requirements and I'm starting a beach farm but nothing extra is there. My map looks normal. (I have some CJ something something mods on too)
Pretty sure I've done everything correctly because the other mods work but SVE doesn't.
so with Snailz' prblem, their smapi isn't even running. they have no error logs to show because theres no errorlogs folder

if you ended up setting up ppja you have to tell it
ok so i realized what i did wrong. it was very complicated and complex to solve. i installed all prerequisites like SMAPI and stuff but.....forgot to install SVE itself.
but even then that bundle is vanilla and should have been replaced

they didn't have the launch options properly copied/pasted because they didn't know about ctrl+c copying, so it didnt work
their mods were fine and the game itself was fine, smapi just wasnt running through steam like it shouldve :D

Just an update to this... saving on the existing save fubars the bed if I cheat a new one in. So seems to be some mod corrupting the parentSheetIndex when saving.

you can check your log to see if smapi is loading it

really depends on what the mod does. most UI stuff is harmless, if it's actual content best case the other person won't see it, but you're likely to run into real problems

Okay, so stuff that is happening to my game: "Outdoors" maps - the town, the backwoods, et cetera - are not loading with any CC completion bonuses; the bridge to the quarry is gone, Penny and Pam's house is still a trailer, the CC looks run down and broken, all the shortcuts through the second community upgrade are gone.
Also, despite having two children who are weird toddlers, every morning the first one that was born is an infant in the crib again.
The Greenhouse, minecarts, and etc are all functional.

If Defender is flagging it, it'll keep on removing it no matter where you get it from
it just alternates between network error and download error
Clear the browserโs cache and cookies, close the browser window, relaunch the browser, and then attempt to redownload it

just go to your defender window, protection history, action, allow the file. That could clear the problem
Also make sure you donโt have any pending browser updates and/or Windows updates that need a restart to finish installing
otherwise the defender may keep intercepting it
After you do that and it doesn't work, then you go to Defender to actually fix the problem lol

also it doesn't care where you get the DLLs from - you have to click Allow on Device there
If someone sends you the same file you're trying to download, Windows Defender will still block it
