I have the pufferchick and it found all three mod folders and the console's staying up. I suspect I've screwed up the change in the launch thing within the steam launcher.
Woo! Yeah, if it starts from the game folder it's just the launch options. Make sure you have the quotes around the file path and the %command% at the end! If it still doesn't work just copy paste what you've got h ere and we can fix it

Did you unzip the SMAPI installer folder? You need to extract it somewhere (such as your desktop) and then open it. It might not show the .bat extension if you have file extensions hidden, but it will still say install on windwos
Yep, install on Windows. (Make sure you are not trying to run it from inside the zip folder, you need to actually extract it somewhere)

quotes are required to force windows to consider it 1 directory when directorys have spaces
otherwise it believes it ends at Program and all the rest is an arguement

You can play vanilla by launching Stardew Valley.exe in your game folder, clearing your launch options so Steam doesn't start SMAPI, or temporarily rename your Mods folder. Or use mod groups!
Yep, you can just rerun the installer and pick the uninstall option.

a modded save probably wont load like that though.
Most will, but if you added any new NPCs or locations, or have any custom items on you or your farm etc, you'll need to save with SMAPI installed and without the mods installed first.
(And for the custom items, keep the mods installed and dispose of them first is simplest ๐ )
(If you run into any troubles on a save that used to have mods on it, come here first and not #vanilla-tech-support since there still might be lingering mod issues! )

@fluid zealot Not sure what's up with Winter Star by the way, I'd see if it happens with no other mods installed and then let spacechase0#0724 know. I had a lot of trouble in MP with it on 1.4 but haven't tried it in either mode in 1.5 yet.
(PS I really recommend removing jungle temple. It's mostly just a demo for TMXL and has some issues that, while fixable, are still just fixing the demo hehe)

Is starting a new save out of the question? The best way to do it is to use the mods that added new weapons, etc. remove them from your game and then remove the mod

Nope, the game update shouldn't touch the Mods folder (unless you completely deleted the game folder before updating or something of course). Are you sure you don't, yeah, have another install somewhere? Or even another MOds folder?

It depends on how the dialogue mods are made! There are a couple updates that would need to happen, but for example CFDE is already updated.
it really depends on 'how' dialog mod adjusts the dialog, if it just writes the xmb/loads, it will eat any updated stuff
Ones that replace the whole file will definitely be broken, but thankfully most people are pretty selective about data mods and only edit specific lines.
And if it does break then they're pretty good at updating the mod within an acceptable time

I've felt for a long while that Stardew is one of the simplest games to mod for the amount of modding that can be done to it, but sometimes hear the opposite which feels weird
I guess the abstraction of workshop or mod managers and stuff make things feel simpler than folder drag and drop, plus people start shoving 600 mods in there and ... hehe

Recolors are all going to need updates for aesthetic reasons at minimum, so you need to wait on those if you want pretty matching. They can also have some less aesthetic issues like making some gameplay stuff invisible and whatnot depending on what/how they edit. They should not conflict with mods like SVE or or village or etc though, except in the sense that either mod may add new tiles that don't have color matching

If you mean the launch options, yep you can play vanilla by clearing those (as long as you didn't overwrite any files in the game's Content folder and just stuck to the Mods folder), and your mods will still be there when you come back.

If that is empty, Steam won't know to launch SMAPI, so it will just load the vanilla game.
If you want, you can leave it empty and just start StardewModdingAPI.exe directly from the game folder, though.

There have been unofficial updates available since yesterday. For official updates, you just need to watch the mod page.
oh also most mods have update notifications in the smapi log
if they dont notify you it probably means they arent updated
Yep, the greenhouse is now a regular building and not sharing the houses texture, so recolors need to update for that.
(Even ones that haven't been updated in months/years, I've found, lol)
Does the alpha version of pytk work?
It works enough for most people, feel free to @ me if you find a bug specific to it that isn't caused by some other mod that just happens to rely on it.
Routine will get an official update out at some point, but it's a busy time of year :) You'll get notified in your SMAPI console if there's an official update as Plush mentioned!

CP location edits (including farmhouse) won't work. CP edits to beds won't work. I'm thinking any recolor might have glitches, because so many tilesheets have changed.

Honestly? If the mod you want an update for broke in the shift to 1.5? Wait. AT LEAST until after the weekend. Because there's a very good chance the modder knows very well and just hasn't had time, because most of us work full time.
Like, I know my mod broke. I doesn't mean I'll have time to open it before Saturday
Lmao sure but the modder also hasnโt been active since March. So I was searching to see if there are other ways to contact them.
To add to Morgrim's point, which I wholeheartedly agree on, the update has been out a little over 2 days. We have to be patient.
My main worry is that theyโre no longer active. I donโt mind being patient and waiting. ๐
(my rant is brought by someone coming to me whining that my mod "hasn't been touched since the update is it abandoned?" and that makes me not want to update it because life is already stressful without ungrateful brats)

Folks have to remember modders are people too, with lives. Also that if people lose interest in SDV and decide not to keep updating their mods, that's also fine.

wow. whoever complained about that is an entitled brat. coding is hard work (so I hear, i'm not a coder), and people have lives.
I deeefinitely understand not being able to get to the update immediately. Plus the update dropped really suddenly too. I wouldnโt dare whine or complain.
(I mean, I know both of my published mods are broken, but the raptor one should be a pretty quick fix; testing it is gonna take longer than updating it. Cat in a Coat might be tricky, that one may end up being winter-only for a bit until I figure out the new weather.)
Plus I understand itโs not just working on the updates. The testing and all takes ages too. Major kudos to all the mod authors.

not an issue with a mod, but something cute. my use of 'A Toned Down Stardew Valley' has rendered the inside of my house a little more 'last gen' than normal, with one large bed (immovable) and a regular bed (movable now in the update). This has been converted into a cat bed, since the cat seems to prefer sleeping on that one. it's precious 
if it's Content Patcher and only visual, you're okay. Anything complicated everyone needs
for this purposes "if it adds anything new at all it's too complicated"

If it is, it will probably be updated at some point. For content mods, this is such a busy time of year, I think it's nicer to give people some time... plus I'm sure 50000 other people have the same "I will DM the modder asking when they will update, I wish I could have their email or phone to make sure they get it" :P
eemies map recolor grass is broken it only changes the textures of some grasses
bed got turned into actual furniture, so anything thats not 1.5 updated that touches the furniture png heavily will likely make it poof

Can't comment on individual motives and don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, but there are a couple people at least that are only on ModDrop to better support it as an alternative to Nexus for example.

I think it's because moddrop isn't mined as heavily by mod thieves, so while it's not technically any safer, it's more work for people to steal

Not usually (it's updated many times mid save) but I guess it is technically possible. It would be very unusual, but should also be fixable even then. (SMAPI backs up saves for you once a day as well)

@wary temple do you mean actually finding them, or to see which barn/coop they belong to? I'm not aware of a mod which does either, but there are mods which make it easier to see the animals, like loved labels, if that is the main issue
for example if there was some way on the exterior of the barn/coop to see 1 sheep, 3 cows ect
like currently inside, or belonging there?

I don't use it, but looking at the file structure, it should work as long as the framework mods it uses are updated

So I recently removed custom furniture and custom furniture anywhere as well as furniture anywhere. I forgot to remove two items on my farm that belonged to those mods, and they have become default textured indestructible entities that i cant build on top of or walk through. Is there a way I can load my farm into a program and remove those objects?

hi I've been getting an error which causes the game to freeze while saving and then eventually crash (log here: https://smapi.io/log/b182fbf6fd174dd998f80d6a3478ff76 )
I suspect it's from BugNet, as that's what the final smapi error seems to say, and the error only seems to happen at the end of a day where I've bot the bug net from pierre's shop.
You can ignore the BillboardAnywhere errors - I think that comes from a conflict between that and Chests Anywhere since they share the same hotkey - doesn't seem to actually impede any functionality, just means that chests anywhere can only be used inside an inventory menu(though if people know of fixes I'd appreciate it)
if I use the unofficial PyTK update, will I have to update everything again when it officially comes out?
it also seems that Advanced Farming might be listed as 1.3.0 somewhere within its internal files while nexus has it listed as 1.3.1 because it still asks for updates even after I've already updated it

Typically it's updated once a day but it's accurate as Pathos tests them and usually is the one updating the list.
CF always has had issues, especially in multiplayer so experiencing bugs with it is normal.

No, like 75% 100% zoom and aspect ratio. If you're playing in 4K there's some issues because of limitations with XNA but it doesn't look like that.

Try reinstalling SVE, it looks like a file got missed when downloading (which happens). I don't use SVE so I'm not super familiar with it but you have everything it requires which is good ๐
im with the 75% and 13x idk the specs the game closed, because whenever im with fullscreen mod and do Alt+Tab my game just vanish and i need to end its process into the smapi console or Ctrl+Alt+Del and open again

That sounds normal. Games like Spelunky 2 and Cyberpunk will minimize to the system tray but you can still hear them but if you're in windowed it'll stay up.

This is the system tray on Windows. When something is minimized it'll go here. The ones with the white underline are programs I have up. Clicking on them will bring them back to the front.

If you have multiple of a program open you can also hover over the icon and it'll show all the windows so you can pick the right one.

exterior won't work because the location of the greenhouse texture changed. most interiors will be fine except a couple, which are being worked on afaik

i used custom farm, and as far as i remember, once i disabled IFR2 setting, i just dropped in the mods folder
the only override i remember doing was for greenhouse texture

noclip doesn't activate? are you hitting the correct key, and do you have the Fn key on your keyboard toggled on?
did a bit of experimenting, and it looks like with the new Grandpa's Farm map from SVE and the Walk-To-Desert mod, Claire's pathfinder is... well... She gets stuck. XD wanders into a secret side-room and can't get out.
delete all of SVE and reinstall
you can configure the noclip key, mine is set to F11

hey guys, do u know of a mod that would let me kill the mummies without the need of bombs ?
the mod which was updated on 23 december tells me this
INSTALLATION (FOR SVE + IF2R)
- install this mod as normal first
- navigate to Mods/[CP] Oasis Greenhouse/assets
- copy BOTH .png files and ONE .tbin file (choose standard or without cellar)
- navigate to Mods/[CP] Immersive Farm 2 Remastered/overrides
- paste all the files you copied
- if you chose the withoutcellar version, change the file name from "greenhouse_withoutcellar" to just "greenhouse"
- run the game using SMAPI
but there is no overrides
i reinstalled both immersive farm and SVE and the error logs are still being spammed with issues

you don't need a mod ;) keep playing the game and you'll find a new vanilla way to do that!

the overrides may not even exist anymore, since greenhouse is now a building, i dont think this mod is updated, u might be looking at the date you last downloaded

(this is the second major update where a format change in farm features has resulted in some content pack mods being potentially game-crashingly broken but the last time was so long ago...)

some greenhouse mods still work so long as the greenhouse isn't moved

@plush karma what do you mean by "greenhouse fixed mod" ? Most greenhouse interiors should just work. Exteriors need an update (Elle's has one) but won't crash or anything, just won't have new texture.
(i already suggested crop transplant haha, like i said earlier, it is working fine in 1.5 other than ||on the island||)

Some greenhouse mods do not function correctly anymore in moved greenhouses eg if2r or if yoou pick up and move the greenhouse at robins
neperooni, check to make sure they didnt update between you downloading the mod and you launching the game

I'm just saying that most of them do not need any updates, so "there is no fixed mod" is not true
and if they havent then it's a typo in thier manifest

Also neither IF2R (nor IF2 which is also updated) use the old method for moving greenhouse (if you can call it a method) but multiple exits will have a problem so regular IF2 has an oops with the shed for example.
IF2R had warp correcting scripts on the farm so it's probably just leftover stuff from that, but I don't know details because I haven't looked.

from what I can tell pretty much every mod was effected in some way. The only ones that weren't I think were just aesthetic changes like the way buildings or animals look
