I'm a little confused, should the Better Artisan Good Icons mod have small product icons or not? I've been trying to get this to work for 2 hours now, but I didn't think of that
Pretty sure it's broken in 1.6
I just play the game recently and just started making jams, I installed a mod on these textures and they didn't have little icons, they only changed the appearance of the inside of the jars, but not the mushrooms, all the mushrooms are the same.
I looked in the texture file and there are no these little icons, so I'm stupid and tried to make these little icons for so long, and this is just a picture from the author of the mod. 🤡

Is it supposed to be automatic ? (I think I successfuly installed it with the API)

nucleus coop will open the game multiple times. it handles where each game instance goes and what devices control what game instance
the benefits are that you could eg. have 3 players on 2 monitors, of which 2 players with their own mouse & keyboard and a gamepad player

should i do it when the game is loaded up?
Just start a new day (don’t sleep and save so you don’t waste a day); go to the community centre with Smapi open and when you enter, type that command in the console. It should give a summary of whatever is happening on your save. After that, you can probably take a screenshot or post a new log

Can you remove UseableCommunityCenter and try and see if the problem persists?
Has everyone been able to fully update all their mods since 1.6 came out, I haven’t tried yet I wanted to wait a wee while to see

You might need whatever is the equivalent of Reset Terrain Features for 1.6
At this point most mods are updated

You have a bunch of mods duplicated (Stardew Valley/Mods and also in Stardew Valley/Mods/mods) - Delete the duplicates, then run it and log it again, should start to clear up some of your errors.

Content Patcher, Space Core, Automate at the very least. Then you have a bunch of outdated mods you'll need to work on.

Personal recommendation is to open them and copy the folder out - if you blindly unzip, you get an extra folder with all the Nexus download info (the numbers at the end of the file), which can make the file path too long in rare instances

Hello, I am here to ask for some mod help but I'm going to scroll up and read a bit just to see if anyone else has resolved the issue I'm having. 😊
There's a lot of scrolling to go through - if you could give us a quick summary and a log, we could probably save you a fair amount of time
I have smapi installed, I have the mod folder under my game folder (I can only seem to get to my game folder via steam, properties, files, browse), I have my mods unzipped in my mod folder all with their own respective sub folders, I have run for error logs with https://smapi.io/log, there are no error logs after running %appdata%\StardewValley\ErrorLogs to copy paste into the logs window to get a URL view for y'all.
I'm doing this for my friend so any troubleshooting may be a bit slow, appreciate you're patience and help.
I cannot get the mods to work. She has SDV Expanded and Grandpa's farm downloaded currently.
The most common issue in that case is that they're still in the zip file - If they weren't loading because of missing prerequisites, they'd show up in red in the log
did you put "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command% in the steam launch options
Oh yeah - that's a good catch - is SMAPI itself running?
(since there's no log im assuming smapi isn't starting at all?)

Do note that the launch option would be different if they had Stardew installed in a different folder from the standard Steam directory

She installed smapi with the installer file that opens a console and click 1 or 2.
I don't see like a smapi program file, where would I find that program?
you need to do launch options in order to open it via steam
otherwise you need to use the stardewmoddingapi.exe in the game folder to launch
In which case, she'd have to run StardewModdingAPI.exe in her Stardew Folder - The launch option on Steam is required to tell it to launch SMAPI on launch instead of vanilla.

My guess is that something is clashing with Aimon's Tidy Cozy Farmhouse. Try removing that mod and see if anything changes.

Just to clarify - You won't necessarily see all the dependency mods listed under Files for a given mod - When you go to download the file, Nexus pops up a window listing all the dependency mods with links to them

usually if a content pack framework is 1.6 compatible so will its content packs. this is not a hard rule though
best way to check is probably a combination of checking release dates, checking the comments section, and just try it yourself

If I have a mod that adds animals, is it possible to reassign barn animals to the coop? I've tried it with some animals, but they seem to get stuck trying to exit the coop. Is this something I can fix as a mod user?
What's the mod that let's you move barn animals to the coop?
I can have a look as a beginner mod maker to see if it's fixable but someone more experienced will have better luck or know if it even is.

(pytk is obsolete in 1.6, and the cp ver of dcburgers doesnt work! you have to download the second file down, which is the portraiture version, & also download portraiture)

Just as a heads up - Portraiture is a little different from the old school high quality portrait mods - You'll want the Portraiture version of DCBurgers, and then put the folder with all the PNGs in the Portraits folder (So the file path is Portraiture/Portraits/DCBurger/ and then the NPC.png files are there)
Then press P while talking to someone to swap between folders

It's pretty straight forward - Grab this version of DC Burger's portraits - Open the zip file, find the DCBurger folder, drop that in the Portraits folder in Portraiture

Open a folder, then in the filepath at the top, you can just type %appdata%
as a shortcut

Yep - Scroll down to Stardew Valley, then open that one and it should have a folder labeled ErrorLogs
That's a search result, not the actual folder. Click where it says "Search Results in Home" and you should be able to type in %appdata% directly (and not searching for it)
You could try pressing WINDOWS key and R key then typing %appdata%\StardewValley\ErrorLogs then with that it should bring it up straight away.

Ok - You've got a bunch of mods that need updates - Lune's Masc Collection requires you to install Fashion Sense.
Pick your Enchantment, ReviveDeadCrops are both dead with 1.6 I believe.
RemoveAnimalLimitations is out of date, don't know if there's a replacement or new version.
But you've got 56 mods that need updates
Right location, wrong file. You want the second version that's not the CP version. Look at the screenshot I posted above.
Then you want to grab the DCBurger folder from the correct download

Yep - You need to tweak the folder structure though
Open the DCBurgers folder listed there, you'll see a Portraits folder inside, then inside of that is the actual DCBurger folder you want
Cut that one out and paste it at the same directory as in your screenshot there, then delete the one with all the numbers on the end of the filename
Like this, where inside DCBurger is all the PNG files, no deeper folder structure.
If you open the folder, is it just the PNG files for everyone? If so, then it's correct
Then yep - you're good. Talk to an NPC in game and press P to switch folders until you reach DCBurger's and they'll swap over

No worries - Portraiture's handling of pictures is different from the 1.5 days, so there's just extra hoops you have to jump through to get it right

GMCM isn't loading because you have multiple copies of it - One in

We'd need both logs, but it looks like you have a mismatch (They have a mod that adds an Alec? it looks like, that you don't have)
Have the host install https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/6609, then it'll report to console when there's a mismatch
But for now, double check your mod lists

I usually only download mods with the 1.6 compatible tag on Nexus to ensure I'm using maintained mods, I believe some CP mods can be attempted to be auto-migrated but compatibility isn't guaranteed (correct me if I'm wrong) but yeah it's kinda sad because I've also had to give up some on personally loved mods as they're now broken/obsolete.
If the author doesn't put tag 1.6 compatible, either check when the last update (must be after March 2024) or check post section if someone said it's broken in 1.6 or check smapi.io/mods
Gotcha, I'll have to look into the mods a bit closer to ensure we can have a long playthrough without any hiccups
OH yes youre right its being maintained by pathos still, i just tend to tell people its obsolete because a lot of the mods its needed for (json assets & shop tile framework specifically) are obsolete in 1.6
Also for multiplayer playthroughs, check the mod's about page, posts, bugs, etc in regards to multiplayer compatibility sometimes a mod is and no one's said anything but you SMAPI log will usually let you know if it's not.
Some mods that use JA is still fine (use Json Asset 1.11.8 maintained by Elizabeth)
While some JA mods do still work, the framework itself is considered obsolete and it's basically on life support, mostly only for older mods that won't be updated bc they've been abandoned, so you want to be careful installing anything that lists JA as a requirement

Sorry, I'm a little bit confused.
Just to try and clarify things for me: you're not using a mod that allows you to reassign Barn type animals to Coops? But you are using a mod that adds new Barn animals?
And you're attempting to alter the new Barn animals mod so that the new Barn animals can go inside a coop and can enter/exit the coop?
Once again, sorry for my confusion. 
So upon boot I'm experiencing a screen shake that doesn't appear to go away. I'm unsure how to explain but I can share screen
I can also post another smapi log if necessary.
barn animals being too big to exit the coop door is a game limitation
maybe you can modify the coop door to be as big as barn ones

To use SMAPI with Proton on Linux (in case native doesn't launch, which is the case for me on Ubuntu 24.04):
- Make Steam run the base game using Proton. Make sure it runs.
- Install the WINDOWS VERSION OF SMAPI manually (using the README instructions in the download)
- Make the StardewModdingAPI.exe executable (either chmod +x or Properties window in your file explorer)
- Add the StardewModdingAPI.exe to Steam by Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library.
- In that new entry in the Library, configure it to also use Proton.
- Click Play on that new entry.
- ????
- Profit
and now to see if the mods will actually work lol

The split has been discussed a lot before, but we were reluctant to split the community and there were concerns about elitism when splitting modders and players. The channel activity has grown enough that we decided to try it out in the latest review.

(IF2R can be used without SVE, it's just not that common.)

i am going to check the letter thing out and see if it changes anything .. if not i guess next step will be to pull the cavern elevator out ... honestly unless i need iridium badly there isnt much reason to save floor progress specially when i found out that after a certain floor ALL i got was iridium and that was just way to much for me .... i can say i was able to complete my farm building all in a few days with the money that came from it 😐 i just want the darned hat that is mentioned can only be found in the treasure

@plucky field If I am permitted to be fully honest, it was quite intimidating. What seems simple to the mod developers is far more complex to us casual users who are needing immediate help or learning or figuring things out. For example, the use of giant code blocks whooshes over my head.
I can definitely sympathize with that, Cookie. I myself have only made relatively simple mods; complex coding goes well over my head. When those code blocks start flying, I tend to steer clear of the channel until it's died down
Oh, I understand completely, no one starts knowing how to mod, we were all there at some point. There's plenty of modders (like me!) who don't understand code either (hence the different roles like pixelsmith, contentsmith and blacksmith)
I'm just a baby who gets sad at the idea that people felt like they couldn't ask for help or talk abut basic stuff when that's what modding is all about

odd ... okay so i was gonna have the maudhnait ghost girl join vincent and jas when they studied with penny ... i checked jas and vincents schedule and it showed they did this on tuesdays ... so i set maud up and welp ... she does exactly what i wanted her to do ... thing is ... vincent and jas don't go on tuesdays ... ???? why is the schedules set up that way when its not correct ... does STE over write them to a different day by chance ?

With SVE, are you able to use mods that recolor/retexture furniture or maps? What about mods that add in more furniture in different styles?
im just confused by what the SVE wiki means when it says "changes these maps:" bc its very broad
Maps are the things you walk around in, not textures.
and i can't find any schedules in SVE except the ones for the custom NPCs that came with it 😦
So like the farm map, the town map, etc. Tilesheets are the textures (seasonal outdoors, seasonal town, that kind of thing - png files)

schedule have priority and some are higher than other, so for example rainy day will have priority on normal days
one second and ill find an example of what i was hoping to do
SVE replaces most of the vanilla map files (.tbins) so mods that also want to replace the same maps (the maps themselves, not textures used in them) won't be compatible. Mods that just edits parts of them may or may not be compatible depending on the edit.
Most recolors will be fine, but SVE also has some custom sprites that won't be recolored unless the author does them specifically.
(eg an interior recolor may have clashing areas in some maps where SVE has added an additional vanilla-colored sprite that isn't covered)
oh okay i see, recolors should be fine. What about the ones that do specifically the furniture in the house? for example i was looking at the industrial interior and kitchen mod but wasn't sure if it would conflict or not.
Still not maps 😄 SVE doesn't touch the farmhouse map at all that I know of, and it has no reason to recolor furniture vs adding them to custom tilesheets, so it should be fine and if not is probably an SVE bug. You can always try it and see!

I use both sve and a ton of both custom and replacer furniture mods, you'll be fine
at least they should be compatible with SVE, but some people have issue with furniture in general

ive been trying to cobble together two different recolors but im having an issue with this specific type of tree. does anyone know why the texture is just copy pasted on top of the tree? also idk which mod channel this should go in but im just gonna put it here

Hey idk if im on the right channel for this, im new here. So I've been playing on Android a while because of the new update and i wanted to switch to sve. When i started the game with smapi, the fps began to drop significantly after waking up in the farm for the first time.
Is this a known issue or am i the only one experiencing it? And if so how can i get rid of it? The vanilla version worked perfectly :/
You said you wanted to switch to SVE - did you actually do that, or do you mean that happens just from running SMAPI without mods installed?

Had everything that sve required and sve itself
If you've got SVE installed, your device might just have a hard time with it. We have people on PC that have trouble with some of the maps (or possibly all of them combined or something, hard to say). There's supposed to be an update soon that shrinks some of the larger maps that might make it easier if you have the same problem.
Hello... its me again... I was playing stardew valley and everything worked just fine... until I stucked at Rasmodius tower and waited until I felt asleep... than my game loads.. i was awaking at my house went outside and my whole field was gone.. in my mailbox was the letter of pierres the letter which you get on day one of the game.. but it was day 16 yr 1... I dont know why this happened... its the second time now since the last time I wrote in this server... Can someone help me out?

Yeah, I'm not really sure what determines that kind of issue at this point. It doesn't seem to directly correlate to hardware or anything obvious. I could try cutting some maps down for you when I get home to see if next update would help.

It would definitely cause a lot of issues, but I can't imagine it causing you to get day 1 mail or your crops disappearing (unless you mean that the map itself was different?)
No it wasnt different, everything was gone my crops, my trees that i choped... 😦 my whole progress was gone from one day to the other...

It looks like you didn't update PyTK when you updated TMXL
TMXL Map Toolkit 1.10.17 because it needs newer versions of some mods: PyTK (needs 1.12.23 or later).
So TMXLoader never loaded at all

CJB Item Spawner should still work. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/93 You just need to use the Virtual Keyboard to press the hotkey.

For More Giant Crops, make sure you install some packs that use it such as https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5221
Edit the manifest.json file in a text editor and change SauvignoninStardew.dll to SauvignonInStardew.dll. But if it is from 2018 it will most likely not work with the current game

@dire fractal do as everyone did starting with mods, get on the nexusmod most downloaded and start from there, there's also some "top 10 mods" on youtube that helps, i don't think any of us would want to make a list of 100-300 mods
and please don't do as i did and just download and paste on the game folder, read the installation because some mods have some tricky ways to be installed

You'd need to run SMAPI just with SVE loaded when you choose that save and vice versa

you might want to just reset your files now that you have thw CP version! no reason to have pesky xnbs in there
