If you set the launch options in Steam (If you're on Windows), all achievements will count
im on linux but i set the launch options i believe

I installed a new "texture" for Wizard but it doesn't load. I installed it as xnb file and replaced it, and also checked for files that may replace it like sve and also replace those files, but I still see vanilla wizard!

Hi, from the log, your game is loading the Wizard's portraits from Season Cute Character SVE. Did you also change the portraits there?
Some mods say they're out of date even if you update them. I think its due to version tags in the mod not being correct.

is there a way to unfind a golden walnut (or all) without save editing
I really need help with my mods. I downloaded mods, made sure they're all compatible with the newest update, launched Stardew through SMAPI and was able to get to right after it first saves, after the beginning. And... then it crashes. I deleted some mods, loaded up the save, crashes. Repeat. I know it works unmodded.

Ok I didn;t know. Can you tell why my characters portraits aren't working at all?
Did you press P while in the character's dialogue box? It seems like your portrait mod uses Portraiture
And you have to do that specifically to enable the HD portraits

I would start by going through the log and seeing which mods are throwing red errors. Either remove those, or add the missing mods that they are dependant on.
Also, go through your mods and make sure each of them is compatible with version 1.6
It looks like you may have quite a few non-compatible mods in there.

does anyone know if there is a way to reset or edit the skull cavern record in the game files or smapi? My friend previously used the skull cavern elevator mod, prior to the 1.6 update and is looking for a way to change that to reflect their true skull cavern record for that file.

Question, why do your folders include the nexus download date and version numbers? Those are usually a sign that all your mods are one folder too deep, and those numbers can push certain mods past the character limit for proper loading
That also may be the problem with a bunch of your not-loading mods. Smapi can only read folders up to a certain level. I know if sve in particular is in any sort of extra level of folder smapi can read it bc of all the subfolders it already contains

Ok, we'll assume that's not the issue then. A bunch of your mods are missing manifests, so we should sort those first. Can you go through your log and check each mod that has a missing manifest error for me?
If any of those mods have a sub folder in them (specifically the single subfolder with a name and no numbers i described) you may need to move that sub folder out into your main mods folder. Otherwise you'll need to re-download, as a missing manifest is a sign of a bad install

This looks like you are missing the actual Custom Companions component of your Wild Animals mod. Make sure you have a folder called [CC] Wild Animals in your Wild Animals Lite folder.
How is that possible?
If you're using Stardrop, maybe you didn't check it enabled?

There's no crash in your log, which could potentially point to a memory issue. Try restarting your computer before verifying your files

Okay I have tried and tried and followed what some of yall said and watched tutorials but no matter what happens I can’t figure mods out. Would someone be willing to do that Remote Desktop thing while on call and you just control my laptop and I watch exactly how you do it?? Outdated mods are updated. That's not the problem. Several things are broken in game.
Bye Bye Clint, Hello Clarice and Stardew Valley Expanded these are incompatible at least (preventing either of them modifying the blacksmith map). multiple spouse dialogs probably isn't updated for the current game version

Did you check the mods with missing manifests to see if you had bad installs? Bc those warnings are still in your log
A bunch of your mods also have missing dependencies, and some of those dependencies haven't been updated for 1.6

I'm sorry, but I can't read your log for you. The fact that your files have the nexus download data in the name also makes it a lot harder for me to read the file names in the screenshots. You'll have to match key words in the mod name to your mod list
That's also probably why you're having trouble locating problem mods too. Do you extract into your downloads folder with the default file name suggestion or extract directly into your mods folder?

It says the names of all the mods that aren't loading right at the top once you scroll past your mod list
It's not that I can't read it, it's that writing out a list of all your mods with errors is pointless because it's already there in the log
And while your formatting issues mean some of the names are different, the key words are the same
You can search for them using those and that will be far more helpful to you in the long run than me just highlighting every mod that isn't loading from your screenshots, trust me
Sorry to interject, but all the mods that are missing manifests here are not designed to have them to begin with and are not meant to be standalone mods.
For example "Chinese Wedding Dress" is supposed to overwrite "More Elegant Farmer Body" and the "Pride Pastries" compatibility options are supposed to be put into the respective mod's folder.
I suggest peering into each mod's description page and read the instructions on how to install them.

In any case, these are the mods that requires special installation. You can look at their mod pages on how to install them.
As for the rest that are red, just delete them. They are outdated or require other mods that are outdated and would not work unless the modders update them.

heya sorry to interupt but im having issues with smapi. I had played one session with 25 mods and it ran like normal. I then saved and quit to go do other things and when I got back to it tonight my screen would go black after a few seconds of the main menu launching, but music and the button sound effects would still work. hours of trying different solutions and i just ended up completely reinstalling the game and smapi and ran no mods and still i get a black screen. whats weirder is i can load my save by using the sounds to tell if i am hovering over the button but when it loads all sprites were replaced with colored squares. super confused as to how this happens even with no mods and completely uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and smapi (even deleting the folders in appdata). Id greatly appreciate any help, thank you.
That doesn't sound like a smapi issue, that sounds like a potential issue with your graphics driver. Does the same thing happen if you launch the vanilla game, not smapi?
no I tested that. running the game normally lets me load into a game no issue. thats the only reason im thinking its an smapi issue
Hmmmmm. Smapi alone I don't think is capable of doing that. Weird question, but have you restarted your computer at any point in this process? Doing so could at least rule out a memory issue, which I always like to do for the weird ones

Those last errors are dupe mods, so you're looking for two folders with the same name
Just look for the exact folders listed in the error. Those appear to have the same names as the sort you have in your screenshots with the extra data
Then delete one of them
I guess thats the one thing I have yet to try, I don't see it as being a memory issue especially since I'm not even running any mods. I just installed the game again and then ONLY smapi and launched it via StardewModdingAPI.exe and I get this issue. But I may as well give it a try I suppose
The memory issue isn't a space thing, it's a thing with your computer's internal memory. Sometimes it just runs out but it still tries to keep going, causing weird issues. The most common one I've seen is crashes that don't show up in logs. Restarting your computer resets it's memory
It's less based on how much is on your computer than how long it's been on
Either way, turning it off and on again is always good, even if only to rule it out
oh yeah i know what memory is, i was just saying that i reinstalled the game to confirm my statement of not having any mods installed

You said you didn't see it as being a memory issue because you're not running any mods. When I had a memory-related crash I was able to launch the game by randomly removing certain mods as though it was a conflict. I'm just saying the number of mods or whether or not you're running them doesn't exclude a memory issue

Like I said, it's less to do with how much you're running and more to do with how long your computer has been on without restarting

If it isn't a memory issue, it's likely something to do with how smapi is interacting with your graphics drivers and that is unfortunately beyond me, you'll likely have to wait for morning for the smart people to wake up
it actually looks like restarting my pc worked so thank you. I didnt do it earlier because I thought I knew computers and decided that couldnt possibly be it but I have yet again been humbled lmao, life always finds a way to make me feel less smart

If you have the latest version of Stardew Valley on android, you can't use mods, I'm sorry. SMAPI doesn't work with any version past 1.5.6.39 and we don't provide support for downgrading your SDV version as it's not legal.

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
This is a question for #modded-stardew, as this channel is for getting help when your mods aren't working, not finding new ones.
If you go to the Posts tab for the mod you will see several comments explaining how to convert this mod to Portraiture so you can use it.

Hiya! I'm debugging a situation where one of my players is seeing camera snap on location change under certain conditions. I suspect a mod is doing too much on location change and delaying camera initialization, so they're seeing the default camera position for the new area before it updates to where it's supposed to be.
I've narrowed down which mod is causing it. They don't appear to be hooking into the Warped event, but they are hooked into AssetRequested. If that method is taking too long, would that be a candidate for the culprit?
Trying to make a decent guess as to whether it's worth profiling this method in particular. This seems expensive at first glance (source anonymized):

Does anyone else that uses Lnh's Farmhouse mod have this weird staircase issue that leads to the cellar? Some reason, this extra staricase shows up, and when no clippingto go down, it just.. Leads me to the cellar. But the staircase on the right of it also leads me to the cellar, as intended. I just don't know how to make that weird area go away. I don't have the "early Cellar" config on either. I also unsure if it's due to the cellar mod I am using, Legacy Cellar.

You can increase the space in the chest, there's a little settings thingy when you go into that chest and you can increase the size to unlimited
its set to unlimited but only holds 70 items

Hmm - I'm honestly not sure. If you completely ignore it for like 5 minutes does it succeed in launching? (As in don't click on it, just let it do it's thing) - It shouldn't be taking that long unless you're running on a PC that's more potato then computer, but I'm curious whether it'll fully start
so, when it the game opens if i click on 'new'' it freezes for like a minute, but when i create the character and go to load the game it goes unresponsive even if i let it run for 20 minutes..

it takes 3 to 5 minutes for the game to even open, and once it does it freezes at the first click

Actually hmm - One last thing to try - Can you go to the the appdata folder for Stardew (C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley)
And try renaming default_options and startup_preferences to something else?

I’m only looking to install DCBurger’s Portrait mod. Is there any way I can do this ? Like is there a way to convert their work into XNB files.

Did you install a farm mod mid save? You'll need to reset your game files, reinstall the farm map, and use the unofficial update of reset terrain features (https://github.com/Lake1059/ResetTerrainFeatures_NET6/releases)

I was responding to a different user, when you install a mod that replaces a farm mod mid-game. It can cause issues e.g. when moving locations from the bus stop back to the farm you can be 'spawned' back on the farm in the vanilla location (which may be in the middle of some fences or trees) which can softlock you. The way to fix this issue is normally just reinstalling the mod, verifying your stardew valley game files and using reset terrain features to well... reset the terrain.

Yep. Have a go at the other steps and see if it fixes the issue when you play again. If the issue persists try sleeping in-game for another day and see if that fixes the issue.

The beta version is only available on curseforge so you'll constantly recieve the update request in your log until you use the curseforge version. There's a ton of good info about it in the stickied message on the nexus page

open the folder called Custom Spouse Room Locations
open the folder called (PSR) Custom Spouse Room Locations
find the file named example-content.json inside this folder
copy and paste that file in the same folder
rename your copied file to content.json
Now it should stop giving you this error. This is also the file that you edit if you want to place specific spouse rooms in specific locations``` apparently this should work?

Hey, I need a bit help, I have a lot of mods installed and I think one of them is the cause for my problem, when I exit my farmhouse my camera is just in the middle of the screen and I cant see myself the camera moves but I also cant exit the farm or just do anything at all
Hey just a tip for fast debugging this kind of things, Disable half your mods, and restart the game. If it's gone, you know the problem is in that half, if it's not, re-enable those mods, and remove a half of the half you left in, keep subdividing like this until you find the specific mod causing your issues

Probably should haved mentioned that in your original post... Starting a game and things not working from the beginning and things suddenly stopping working are very different issues. you should go through your mod list and find any that alter perspective, your player, or the camera, and disable them, then, slowly re-enable them to see if it fixes things

Easiest way I've found is to use lookup anything and enable tile lookup in the config. That let's you see the xy coordinates of any tile you hover over
It's a big area with a lot of enemies and a lot of moving parts. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do

According to your last log the custom spouse rooms is a few versions out of date. Have you tried updating it?
It isn't. The most recent version is for a specific farmhouse mod

You still have a bit of cleaning up to do. A bunch of your mods were made obsolete with 1.6, so you should go through your log and remove the ones it says you don't need anymore

Through it's config file or the gmcm, which you have to install. And if smapi says it's loading with no errors, then it's loading
It looks like some of your mods weren't updated properly either and have leftover files from older versions of the mod. When updating a mod, you need to completely delete it and install the newest version, no overwriting existing files

Ok so, for json assets and expanded preconditions utility, you need to install their beta files for 1.6. A bunch of your mods are missing the same dependency, custom chores or something like that? You should go to their mod pages and check the requirements. Everything else in red can be removed

Ok, you deleted saat. Now you gotta do the rest of what I said
I cant find error handler and the I deleted the tile thing
ErrorHandler will be in there as one word, like that. It may not be listed in stardrop, you may have to find it in your actual mods folder. Your log says shop tile framework is still there, so it may be the same with that. And you need the alpha version of the other mods and that one requirement you're missing
And you have a bunch of mods that need updating. Just go through your log and use it like a checklist, it spells it all out very plainly

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

Also, question, when you clicked on your save, did you click on the screen while the game was loading?
Bc that can cause the game to stop responding, especially with a big modlist. You need to just let it load without clicking on anything after you've selected your save

Hello folks! I'm having a bug that seems to be fairly common, but I'm having an issue figuring out the culprit. It's the mismatch UI co-op join bug. Here's a copy of my log if someone has any insight into reading these, I'd much appreciate it.

UI pop is a catch-all for when there's issues with menus that aren't resolving
It does work when the multiplayer connection is over LAN, but not over the internet
From the sound of your message, it's a multiplayer issue? We'll want logs from both people involved.
Have you double checked that your mods matched? (If it's working on LAN but not across the net that's weird)
They technically do match, though SMAPI doesn't think they do, it seems to think there is a map still installed that way previously removed.

Hmm I'm vaguely concerned about the Cornucopia errors in the log - are the issues consistent and easy to replicate? I would just try a new farm and see whether they still exist just to rule out the save itself

The real issue is the host computer isn't very powerful, so trying a number of configurations with such a large modpack is really a hassle

This issue prevents any player that is part of the farm from connecting over the internet.
While the red mismatch mod error about the hilltop farm comes up on LAN joining, it doesn't prevent the client from connecting.

- Delete PyTK Lite and TMXL Map Toolkit as these mods cause crashes and errors which smapi doesn't alert to

it is definitely a mod mismatch issue - both players must have the exact same modlist
(specifically the error comes from SpaceCore being missing from the second player)
The mods I have are just some stray ones that aren't being used like Spacecore and Json assets

Hey - I have a question, does SMAPI work on a pirated version of SDV 1.5.6?
sorry - very few people here would have any idea so youd have to try it and see yourself. do you have the correct smapi version?
if it doesnt work it is probably a piracy related issue that nobody here can help with

Hey uhh, most basic question ever but if I play modded multiplayer do all players need the mod or just the host?
It depends on what mods you guys are trying to run. If it's just visuals, the host can install a mod but they won't see the visual mod themselves, just the host. If, for example, you're trying to use an expansion mod in multiplayer, everyone needs to install the mod. It's generally recommended that the mods match.
