Does anyone know of a good mod that has a cutesy aesthetic for the valley itself? For example, I have the fairy overgrown mod on a few things. Something like that! Try removing TMXL Map Toolkit, it's pretty out of date nowadays and has a habit of creatively breaking things.
it just loads the mod in as if i had it installed normally

For now, it was suggested that we try validating your game files and seeing whether anything changes. Worth a shot at least.

i don't - when I search all the PC for the ferngill or frs nothing shows up. let me try launching directly from smapi
If you can screenshot the inside of your folder where StardewModdingAPI is, that might also help to clear up any possible concerns about a second mod folder.

Ok - There is something wildly wrong with your folder structure there - SMAPI should be sitting in the same directory as Stardew Valley. That may be related to your issues.

I uninstalled Vortex
Peek into that Mods folder and check for FRS, because that SMAPI version does not match your log.

I think I found one of the issues - I have the game on two drives. Jesus- this is why they don't let me near computers. let me go to the right drive
This is also why we dislike Vortex. It lets you get into shenanigans.

I think we've found the heart of it though, yeah. You're removing the mod from the Mods folder from one drive and accidentally running the game on the other drive, most likely.

Ok - That looks like the right one. Move the correct mods into the folder and hopefully your issue will vanish.
but when I search the PC as a whole, it doesn't pull up. The drive I linked first, has no mods in it

Probably not, but you may need a fresh manual SMAPI install.
(it won't wipe your mods as long as you use the installer to install over the old one and don't uninstall first)
okay - so uninstall SMAPI and do it again
Don't uninstall SMAPI, just try to run the installer over the same path
It automatically cleans up the old version of SMAPI

Someone suggested removing Haneul's Farm Buildings (temporarily at least) - It might tweak the greenhousse

I'm not too sure on this one, unfortunately. Was hoping the log would show any Content packs or AT packs that alter the rarecrows in case those were in conflict. Removing Better Rarecrows might be an option, but I don't think that necessarily changes the visuals in any way.
The one that changes it I know of is fairy overgrown craftables, but it was fine until...could it be the Starblue valley mod I just added?

Are you trying to instantly complete the community center bundles? CJBCheats can do that for you.
its a save game where i did the lil transfer host thing but theres shi missing like the railroad n bridge n sum special items

I think this is an issue with multiple spouse rooms but the upper corner is messed up and I don't know how to fix it.

You have Overgrown Fairy Craftables, which changes the scarecrow into a junimo statue, and Starblue Valley, which seasonally recolors and overlays the original scarecrow over it. Just turn off the scarecrow option from Starblue's config menu.

For some reason, again I'm guessing from multiple spouse rooms from Polyamory Sweet, it won't let me put things in the bottom right corner and top right corner before interrupting the stairs in the bedroom
This might be related cause you use vortex. Try install all mods manually or use stardrop. Or you might stay here and ask for help from nexus people (if they are available). Or join nexusmods discord and there is channel solely for SDV modding

Vortex isn't recommended for Stardew Valley.
It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.

Hey guys, I’m a former modded game player before 1.5, now back to this community due to 1.6 update and I got some questions:
1, The current game seems to have been updated to version 1.6.8. In this case, can the 1.6~1.6.7 mods still be used?
2, Dose “stardewvalley anime mods” cover the original winter outfit? If not, what Can I do to cover or change them?
3, Will the mod “Seasonal Outfits” conflict with the original winter outfits or the anime mod just mentioned?
4, In the current 1.6.8 environment, which mods are recommended to be installed? Are there any differences from what were recommended in previous versions?
5, I heard there is a thing called converters, what dose this thing do? Would it help some older mod work with the latest version?

Basically anything released since March 19, 2024 is 1.6 ready
The sub versions generally don't break anything, it's usually bugfixes and smaller features
For #2 and #3 - Going to depend on the mods themselves - Whichever one runs last is going to win the content patching award.

A few older mods (TMXL, SAAT, PyTk, AntiSocialNPCs, and more) are no longer in use - Most of their features are in the base game and they can cause weird issues if you use them.

There's a series of tools designed to update 1.4/1.5 stuff to 1.6 - For some content packs it's unnecessary, but other ones do things that can't be done on the current frameworks

Hello does anyone know how I can go about making a patch for two mods that change the same location? I found a new expansion I want to use, https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/15100 , but it uses the desert for a big portion of its expansion, it’s compatible with east scarp and Zuzu city but stardew valley expanded clashes because of the desert changes. What would be the best way to alter stardew expansion’s desert locations so they don’t clash? Life Cycle doesn't depend on Athanaeri Corner, at least according to Nexus dependencies

Hmm - I'm afraid I don't know (And it's late enough I don't want to go digging into it right now) - Did you completely remove the old version before you installed the new one?
I'd try removing it and installing the "lazy" version first - See whether that does anything different. If not, someone might be up in the morning who knows more (It's 2:30 AM here where I'm at, east coast US should be getting up in an hour or two)

It was an item in my inventory, a ground light from a mod I was using.
I removed the mod, updated SnS and everything is working fine again!

Ohhh, I think I know what's going on after some testing, I restored a backup and apparently this weather disables you from warping to other maps (except inside buildings or the farm cave), if I wait a couple days there's a storm and I can warp again. So it was unrelated to the skills
Edit: fixed it 🎉 it was project danger weather editing the map

To show package contents on a Mac, you can control-click on an application in the Applications folder and select Show Package Contents

Hey guys, I am new here but I am running into a looping issue with SMAPI and it is not prgressing to the next day. I believe it has something to do with the fact that I am upgrading my house to the final step and I am currently married to a Stardew Valley Extended NPC (Sophia if it matters). Vortex sometimes takes a little nibble out of SMAPI or mod files if it doesn't deploy the mod correctly or if a mod gets updated with issues

So, grandpa's farm is only for stardew valley expanded, expanded precoditions utility is out of date Dynamic Game Assets is I think...defunct for 1.6? and Desaturated Grandpa's Shed Recolor is for Stardew Valley Expanded as well

If so, you're not the only one, and it's best to remove the mod until it gets fixed.
Typically if you check the 'bugs' section, you'll see if your issue is there and if its been fixed or not.

Hello! So I'm new here, but I'm struggling with one of my mods, Market Day. I've searched here for answers, but none of them worked for me: I installed the original version of the mod and deleted the RandomNPC folder, but it's like the mod doesn't exist, SMAPI doesn't see it at all. The game loads without it. I found an unofficial, supposedly updated version and dowloaded that but it causes some issues. You've got something weird going on with your mods - I've never seen so many json parsing errors before, especially for the mods you're using.
As for why Market Day isn't "opening", it looks like it's trying to add a 'null' item to a shop and throwing an error. Not sure where to begin on that issue
Yeah I figured there's something weird going on, SMAPI is telling me to update mods that are updated and giving me links to entirely different mod, then there's this issue with Happy Birthday mod, but that doesn't bother me much.
The fact you're getting a giant wall of warnings from other core framework mods about failures parsing json files is also a sign - Unless you were going through and manually renaming all the json files for some reason, there's something weird going on
Hi, im a host of a multiplayer game, we have 3 mods installed, seasonal outfits, one to see which crop u have planted and the rich discord presence. My friends have a problem that when they are playing, when they enter town or something like that for like 1 second shows like a part that has nothing to do to where they are entering. I can ask for a clip of the problem if u dont understand. Someone knows what to do?
I was not lol. I just recently started playing on 1.6 and installed my mods exactly the same way as I was when on 1.5 (the only difference being that now I have it all stored on external SSD disc, but that shouldn't be an issue, right?) and those problems are totally new for me and I'm not sure what to do. Should I get rid of the mods? Install them one by one?
I also haven't really noticed any other mods acting up, except for the wall of warnings from smapi every time I load a save

Hello fellow farmers! Hope all is well! I haven't played Stardew in months and have been painstakingly updating my mods to the best of my ability by picking through my Smapi logs and finding alternatives to older mods. However I'm stuck this time. Some of my tiles do not match the rest of the environment and I don't know how to deciper the error code, bus locations keeps telling me I can update and I have, and I tried the PyTKLite workaround but it still comes up as red in the log. Can you screenshot which section of the tiles are wrong? You're probably using an older recolor that's missing 1.6 tiles, or a mod that's older then 1.6 and doesn't handle the new tiles correctly.
You've also got at least a couple of mods that aren't wanted/needed on 1.6 (SAAT for sure, your PyTK lite install is missing files / probably? not needed unless you're using old mods)

Backup the Fairyfloss folder, but yes - When you revert, you'll want to just restore the original folder.

Yep - Just copy and backup that folder in it's entirely. Everything inside the folder makes up your save, so may as well just backup the actual folder, rather then tinkering with individual files

In the past I had DustBeauty's foliage mod, but it's outdated, so I tried to swap to Soft Slow Seasons, but I'm wondering if there a remnants from DustBeauty? I've looked over my mods folder to see if there were any lingering folders.
Ok - I assume it's the tiles directly adjacent to the walkway? Do you know which recolor mod you're using? (I looked over the list and must be smooth brained because I couldn't see it)

I'm also using Xiddav's tilesheets. I'm not sure if that could be the issue? I have a few mods of theirs that require it. I also have Lumisteria's Indoor/Outdoor tilesheets and Kedi's tilesheets. I'll go back and see if I have anything dependent on Lumi and Kedi.
Edit: Ahhh, with Lumi it was because I used to have East Scarp, but I removed it. Checking Kedi now.
It actually looks like the light edges on the sidewalks might actually be SSS - Why the rest of the grass isn't changing, I'm not sure

Yeah - some authors who didn't want to deal with 1.6 or fix their mods just hid them on Nexus, others left them up and others posted fix mods, but I didn't see anything for Yellog
I appreciate you looking into that for me. Unfortunately, Yellog's recolors were the culprit. Soft Slow Seasons works as intended now. I'll have to browse Nexus for another cute and cozy recolor. Thank you so much for your help today!

No real answer, just a "here's why they're probably erroring" - recommendation is to take one of the mods throwing json parsing errors (Like SpaceCore), completely remove it, download a fresh copy from Nexus, and unpack it into the mods, then try to run it again.
If the errors for SpaceCore go away, then we can repeat this for the other mods

You can still play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI. There's a few approaches:
- In your game folder, run
StardewValley.exedirectly. - Or if you're playing through Steam or GOG on a Windows device: clear your launch options, then select play from your game client. See the

Modsfolder to something else. Then launching the game will run SMAPI but with no mods loaded. - Or set up SMAPI as a custom game in Steam. See the

I managed to get Sydney's marriage dialog to work after correcting some errors in her dialogue files. However, her spouse room and patio still don't load properly, I'm getting Abagail's instead of Sydney's. I suspect this might be a bug with PolyamorySweet instead, since it's known to be somewhat buggy, and PolyamorySweetRooms is throwing an error in my log.
I've tried removing PolyamorySweet, but the room still isn't fixed. Is there something I need to do to reset the map?
Does RTF (reset terrain features) help with this issue?

if you're really feeling anxious, you can back up your save folder, but SMAPI comes bundled with a mod that handles that for you, so even if something terrible happens (unlikely), it's very easy to undo the damage

I'm still having issues too. If I remove the contents of my mods folder, then add them back one at a time, will that work to discover where my conflict is, or do I need to uninstall something to get back to the basics.
I removed the mods i added one by one. This time it was Better Junimos that caused the conflict
Conflict will probably happen again, but it's working for now
that will work, but you can probably find it faster with binary search (half of your unchecked mods at a time)

yeah. disable half and load the game. if it works, the conflict is in the disabled half; if not, this one. repeat until you find the culprit

I'm having a few issues. 1) my game is slow. It freezes every few minutes. But not for long. It makes walking, or doing anything quickly , very frustrating. 2.) Any farmhouse mod loads the farmhouse weird. The rooms don't line up. And they put everything into the void.
I'm getting error messages that the content patcher can't load things. Too many too list.
For freezing, first try setting all the volume sliders to 0
For the farmhouse, look for one last updated after march 2024

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). Unfortunately, Sydney's author appears to have given up on the mod due to health issues. I'm trying to fix the mod and make it work in 1.6 myself. I've fixed several problems with the dialog and events, but I can't get the spouse room or patio to load. The map files are present, I can open them with tiled, but they don't seem to load into the game no matter what I try.

`The Living Large update of the game (early this year) requires an update of the mod environment as well. You need to use the BepInEx loader now, https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/1108
Not sure how BepInEx applies to Mac, but there's some information about it on the mod page. Also you need to use BepInEx compatible mods, many older mods have not been updated for BepInEx.

Honestly, based on our little discussion, I'd move your Mods folder somewhere safe if you have mods installed, then reset vanilla files, then reinstall SMAPI via the "Install on Mac.command" file in the installer folder.

I'd check on GoG and see if you can get 1.5.6's installer specifically, then backup your mod folder and reinstall / verify game files, then reinstall SMAPI

Reinstall the base game entirely - Backup the Mods, remove Stardew entirely or verify game files, reinstall 1.5.6, then attempt to reinstall SMAPI.

Vortex isn't recommended for Stardew Valley.
It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.
(See also the Nexus App feedback thread, if you want to help Nexus avoid the same issues in their upcoming replacement for Vortex.)

try removing half of your AT mods? It could be overwhelmed, depending on your specs.
Wasn't sure on Linux - Might need to start cutting half your mods at a time, launching the game, then testing for the crash - If it stops crashing, it's one of the mods you pulled out

Yeah - for some reason your computer is treating them as if they were encoded in a different format - It's a special character that's causing the json parser to fail.
And it's clearly not on the mod side, or we'd have a ton of screaming in here.
I find it hard to believe, but could it have something to do with the external drive I have them on? It was never doing that when I had them stored directly on my computer and I can't think of anything else honestly

(the files that start with ._ are some kind of metadata files that get created on macs in some situations (possibly on other operating systems as well), and if the corresponding files without the ._ part still exist it's probably not a problem. just in case the warnings pop up again)

My smap path was within the Stardew Valley folder in x86, once the SMAPI path’s established, it automatically set my Mod Folder path for me.

I would like to ask if anyone knows of a mod that would improve the lighting in the Pelican Town mines, floors 1 to 39 and 80 to 120, and the volcano in the Ginger Island because I am visually impaired and I have a hard time seeing in those areas. I don't need it to be very bright, just a little. Increasing the brightness of the monitor is not ideal and does not work very well, although it is what I use to temporarily solve the problem.
I have seen mods that modify the mines but nothing like what I am looking for. I do not have this problem in Skull Cavern or on floors 40 to 79 in the town mines.

Hm, I definitely use more packs than that. Maybe it's specific packs only? If it hard crashes, it's probably related to either the generated glue code that hhd uses to interact with AT's internals, or hhd's or AT's harmony patches. I'll experiment a bit but I may not be able to replicate it

That's a feature from ridgeside village, unfortunately there's no mod that adds that as a feature for vanilla.

For future reference, if a mod stops working it's best to do a fresh install of the mod (delete and reinstall)
Thar was my thought but because it was the config menu i didn’t know it it would effect other mods on reinstalling it
To clear this up, doing a fresh install of mods or updating mods are completely safe to do mid save for Stardew Modding 
Just adding onto this, you can install a schedule mod since it covers RSV too. RSV's map only contains the villagers over so you'd have to alternate the maps

i recommend that you rebuild the mod list from scratch and pick what mods you want to use after reading their mod descriptions on nexus

I looked into your log and you don't have any mod that affects your weather, afaik. You could install UI Info Suite tho, it informs you if there's rain the next day.

like half the ones i update, they do this, do i need to reinstall?
sometimes the author forgot to update their manifest to the correct version. You can check by going in the files and see what the version is in their manifest.json. It's nothing to worry about
I have the same problem with other mods. If i update once and it still says it needs updating I tend to ignore it for awhile. Although sometimes letting the authors know gently that they forgot to update the manifest could help to
if you're using a mod manager, it's also possible that it's not deleting the old files correctly, so it's failing to update them properly. You can try removing the mod and reinstalling the updated version of the mod to see if the error persists.
If it's still saying it's wrong, then it may be a manifest error. 🙂

Hi, im a host of a multiplayer game, we have 3 mods installed, seasonal outfits, one to see which crop u have planted and the rich discord presence. My friends have a problem that when they are playing, when they enter town or something like that for like 1 second shows like a part that has nothing to do to where they are entering. IHere is a clip of my friend. Someone knows what to do?

i accidentally left it running and opened fortnite and got an anti cheat error message and i dont want to get banned
it uses easy anti cheat which detects any modding stuff as cheating

It doesn't happen with every cutscene, but every now and again when a cutscene finishes, I'm teleported out of bounds of the region I just entered with no UI. I can use CBJ cheats to tp back to the farm or wherever, and the UI comes back after watching another cutscene or closing the game. No errors appear in SMAPI

But if I read the report right, that should be the file path that your little stray folder is hiding in.
Other than the main one, you can't install Nyapu's portraits with Stardrop. They're meant to directly replace the portrait files in the mods themselves. Nyapu's main mod page has a step-by-step instruction (with visual aid) on how to do that.

The red errors seem to be from Copper Still, one of your Axolotl content patcher mods, and a conflict between Immersive Farm 2 Remastered and Pookachus Insane Greenhouse on a quick glance
I deleted pookachus insane greenhouse, I didn't realize immersive farm edited the green house. Idk what to do about the others though
You have several mods that seem to not be loading because they are loose in your Mods folder. Did you try to extract them directly to the Mods folder by chance, instead of extracting in Downloads or the Desktop and then moving the folder?

For Copper Still, have you tried picking up all of your stills that existed before the update and putting them back down? It's recommended on the latest update
Also, pull Show Birthdays - Pretty sure that's vanilla now and the mod is from 2022

Okay, there are several bug reports for this same error, so the mod itself may be broken currently
Ah, that makes sense. I was heading to bed so I didn't explore the mods much. Maybe I'll just disable it for now then and keep an eye on it.
I downloaded the latest mod but when I unzip it, it has a manifest file of a lower version
Make sure you are completely removing the folder for the old version of the mod before adding the new one (overwriting doesn't work correctly) and make sure you are downloading the one with the most recent upload date and marked 1.6 compatible. It won't be the main file for all of them, so you will need to look on the Files tab.
This is especially true for anything with "alpha" in the recommended version
so i had all my saves with my mods, then when i switched over to 1.6, i installed a new smapi, 4.0, then realized none of my mods worked, so i switched back to 1.5.6 legacy so my mods can work, as well as switched my smapi back to 3.18.6. and upon opening my game after updating all my mods, i lost multiple of my save files and have no idea how to get them back. can anyone help?
yeah I first dlted from the mods file and then placed the newest version
While it's possible some mods did not update their manifest, it's unlikely to be the case for that many and for those specific mods, so check that you are looking under optional files for the alpha versions just in case
Did you save a night on the save files on 1.6?
im pretty sure i did, is that why it isnt showing up?
The save file format was given extra info in 1.6 - I'm pretty sure it's blowing up the 1.5 reader since it no longer matches
If you slept in 1.6, it migrated your save to the new format, they are not backwards compatible.

The other option, if you have backups, is to restore your old saves - If you don't, then it's one way.

And there is a font changing mod which crashes the game every time i open it
For what it's worth, 1.5.6 should have still had SaveBackup unless you managed to remove it - If it hasn't been too long since you upgraded, you can try to pull your 1.5.6 saves from the backup zip if you really want to go back.
That said, there's a lot of fancy new stuff and mods in 1.6 and I'd totally understand (And honestly would recommend) pushing forward.
Can you post an updated log once you've cleaned up the loose mod files?

There was way too much cascading mod failure in the first one to get a good diagnosis.
I downloaded all of this mod from smapi.io mod compatible page and it still had many errors
Most of your cascading errors were due to the loose files in the Mods folder from the extraction, some of your other mods needed those as dependencies to run

alrighty, trying to get SVE to run on 1.5.6 and it's just not cooperating. let me get log going

So I tried removing everything, then only adding the essentials I needed. so I added content patcher, FTM, SVE in that order only.
Crop Fairy and Stardew Web are your major errors now, as well as some missing dependencies in the red errors at the top.
and why is my frame rate so low?
Read the Skipped Mods list - You're missing several dependencies
I saw that, just weird that the install guide for SVE doesnt mention anything about it.
unless its because I'm using the fork for 1.5.6 and it wasn't bundled in yet.
SVE for 1.5.6 required the extra dependencies, 1.6 is newer, so NexusMods only shows the 1.6 requirements

could be crane game, could be the dozen or so mods that were skipped. I'd probably just start with removing the crane machine
sve requires itself to be loaded properly?
SVE requires all its components to be present for it to load
If some of its components are missing, the others don't load
They should all be in the zip when you download it
ill reinstall it then and check again
