Hello, got a question, do any of you know how can i move my animals from 1 barn to another, but in different location.
Im using waterfall forest map mod, and i want to move my pigs into northern path, which is the same farm map , but another instance
if im the host of the coop does it mean i just need to install the mods and other players in my coop would also have the mod since i have it installed?

Nope. Every player needs to download and install the mod themselves.

You can mod your multiplayer games, but to avoid any hiccups, all players' mod lists need to match. If players have too many mismatched mods, you will experience bugs in your game - even if the mods were working fine earlier, there is no guarantee that they will stay that way, and strange things may start occurring.
There are a few exceptions to this - cosmetic mods usually work fine with no glitches, and some C# mods work as well. The main mod page often includes information on whether or not they work in multiplayer. However, in general, your mod lists should match exactly.

You can use the mod manager Stardrop to install them, or you can download the mod files manually and then drag the mod folder (inside the .zip file that downloads) into your Mods folder (which is created by installing SMAPI, which all of the players will need to have installed to be able to use mods).

Probably. Something like half of all mods rely on Content Patcher
That would depend on the specific mods you want to use. Most mods will need Content Patcher, but not all. The "Requirements" dropdown on a mod's description page will show you what mods you need to install to use that mod. Nexus should also warn you about required mods before you download a mod.

Does anybody know how I can fix this? Game runs fine without SMAPI.
The game starts off normal, but it either crashes or turns into that screen around 6:20~6:30 am mark in-game.
I've redownloaded the game several times (Including all the mods + SMAPI), deleted my startup preference, restart my pc multiple times, but they all don't seem to work.

Game was fine before I updated these mods. I tried deleting all of them one by one but the error still occured by the time I deleted everything
Did you open the game again between your farmhouse map going funny in your save and then getting your log? There's no sign in your log that you loaded your save game.
I am asking that because I can't see anything in your log that is telling me why you might be having this problem, so I am having to try to dig a bit deeper.
And if you did open your game again, it would've replaced the log from your save game with the new one from reopening the game.

Please reset your game files. This will fix any broken game files, but won't affect your save files or mods.
If you use XNB mods, see using XNB mods for more info about why they're deprecated, and a list of Content Patcher alternatives.
I don't know if this will fix it, but something has gone strange with your farmhouse and I can't see what would be causing that.
By reseting my game files, do you mean doing the "verify integrity of game files" thing on steam library? That's what the link you send me told me to do.

1.6 added new tiles which will take some time for recolor mods to catch up on. recolors will mostly work but there will be some vanilla-looking tiles. please be patient as you wait for mod authors to update their mods
You CAN probably find a patch update if you search Nexus for any of the big ones though

Is there an easy way to use an xnb mod without replacing the file in the game files?
Specifically there's an old xnb farm I love, that has not been properly updated to real modding.

If you'd like to convert an XNB mod to Content Patcher, there are two utilities you can use:
- Content Pack Builder by holythesea is a step-by-step Content Patcher mod creator which can be used with either existing XNB mods or PNG assets.
- XNB2CP by anotherpillow is an open-source, web-based converter to unpack an XNB mod and repackage it as a content pack.
You can convert any mod for personal use, but you should check the mod permissions before publishing your conversions.
so th mod in question is old enough there's no content folder, it's just a selection of xnb files. and I'm not understanding the first link there. ya girl not smart. but the second only produces a zip file that the game doesn't recognise.

Heyo - I'm looking for a dedicated host (a la JunimoHost) that works post 1.6 and allows 8+ people to join. Is there anything good that exists for that yet?
I unzip it, and it gives me 3 things: an assets folder, a content JSON and a manifest JSON. that won't be, and wasn't read in the mods folder.
Nor was it read when I put it in a folder named "[CP]SmallFarm"
So... where does it go?

Vortex isn't recommended for Stardew Valley.
It's hard to troubleshoot and often causes issues like SMAPI/mods not being installed or updated correctly, files mysteriously disappearing, crashes, etc. Volunteers here often can't help with Vortex issues.
Some options:
- Install mods directly (which is easy and safe in Stardew Valley!).
- Or use Stardrop, a mod manager specifically designed for Stardew Valley.
- Or get help with Vortex in the Nexus Discord or Vortex support forums.

Oh thanks didn't want to interrupt c-c I wanted to ask if there's a way to pinpoint what mod is feeding a character their line when you talk to them because I just got a (no translation:Mon.Sebastian) from Seb and I went to look into my mod folder to rummage through the dialogue mods I have but I couldn't find out which one it would be. The mod that obviously edits Seb's dialouge doesn't use i18n files
I feel like it might be possible in your log to see whats editing dialouge

No problem!
Yes. In the past, I'd simply place it in place of the vanilla xnb, and be done with it.
But I'm trying some multiplayer unmodded at the same time frame and it's a pain to switch it out manually, every few hours between games
so what youre going to do is take the files inside the alt folder, the version of the mod you want, (the xnb and the png), and put them into a new folder. i personally make this new folder in my documents when im using converters so i dont get confused
what you want to do is make a new folder wherever you please, titled Content
once youve made that folder, make a folder within that folder titled Maps
put the files you took previously in the Maps folder
once youve done all that, you go to the converter, input all the info on the left that it asks of you, and then click the little paper button on the right to upload a file. you want to upload the Content file you just made, not the maps folder inside the content folder, otherwise things get janky
Any one with this issue? Must be a mod of some sort interfering. Map shows lots of people in the saloon but when I come in there is no one, just Emily, and she's walking out of bounds đĻ Also, as you can see on the map, lots of characters spawn out of place. Can you take a screenshot of where the mods are in the folder, as well as in one of the folders that says there's no manifest.json? It's likely your file structure for several mods got mangled

I suspect it's the Vortex files breaking things
I can't say for sure, but I think SMAPI is seeing the vortex files and getting confused

If I understand it right, SMAPI will directory crawl until it hits the first folder with an actual file in it, which it treats as the root for the mod
So non-mod files will confuse it

Not all NPCs, from the map you can see some just in random places. Willy is not at the beach but top right of the map. Penny, Lewis and Elliot are randomly in the mountains, etc.
This wasnt happening yesterday morning with the mods I had already honestly.. but after a few more mods added, it's happened. Although when I remove the mods I had added,it never fixed itself.

It's not unlikely a mod you added then removed set them to the wrong positions but it should reset if you sleep one day

I was looking on the Wikipedia and it gave me instructions for making a new solution in Visual Studio Code. However, my VSCode doesn't have the option to in file. My Mac is an M1, 12.4 Monterey from 2020, and I'm using the most recent version if VSCode. Are there any solutions to this? Or is the wiki just maybe outdated? Additionally, are there any good videos on how to do this on Mac? The ones I found on youtube were only on Windows.

Ok, thank you sorry for the massive delay. Once I've done that. I get a zip file with a assets folder containing a maps folder containing two PNG that cant be opened. And two JSON content and manifest, next to the assets folder.
so i may have told you something wrong, try just putting the xnb through the converter (same instructions i told you above, just without the png file included) map files are supposed to be .tmx
additionally im not sure if you can use the converter for maps as they have a different structure from other xnb mods

Please reset your game files. This will fix any broken game files, but won't affect your save files or mods.
If you use XNB mods, see using XNB mods for more info about why they're deprecated, and a list of Content Patcher alternatives.

You have installed the all xxzbb mod incorrectly. The instructions from the mod page say to do this "Download the Portraiture, place Put the unzipped file directly in Portraits, and then press P to display it in the game

You need to pay attention to the required mods listed when you download a mod. If you try to use the mod without also getting all the mods it requires, it won't work.

The message itself explains the problem. It's trying to make a NightTile (a window or lamp that's glowing at night time) at X:35 Y:53 on the Front layer of your Farm map but there's no tile on the Front layer in that position so it can't do it.

If you're not running into issues and not planning to add more mods, it's probably safe to leave as is, though in general I'd recommend updating. If you do start to run into issues, people will poke you to update it for support.

okay so. I've tried just about everything to fix this, including taking most of my crop mods out and testing them one by one. I still can't plant mixed seeds, I get THIS every time I try and it's not technically an error so idk what to do to fix it.

I really want Yoba in game, I think he's really neet.
What's worse is that, my game says, ya know motions to Smapi log but the mod compatibility thing says that TMXL Map Toolkit and Expanded Preconditions Utility are compatible. Is there something I'm missing?
Regarding TMXL: don't use it. You shouldn't need it and it will probably break your game.
Regarding Yoba - you have two mods trying to create a Yoba NPC so they are clashing and the game is getting neither of them.
Only reason why I have it is because it's a requirement for another mod.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

There are likely compatible versions but they are not the ones you are using. Check the alpha version for TMXL if it is absolutely necessary
That Yoba mod is reeeeeaaaallly out of date anyway, so if you want to use it you will probably need to be pretty comfortable editing files to get it to work properly (if it will work at all).

Expanded Preconditions is also available in an alpha version for 1.6, you can at least attempt it if you'd like with those corrected
The alpha versions just aren't the main file so you have to specifically look for them in the Files tab
But if Yoba doesn't work after that, then yeah, you will likely be out of luck without personal edits
The mod also requires pytk which is another "may break your game in strange ways" mod.
I know how to get around that. I remember pytk being on it's way out when I was here last.

It looks like from the comments on the Yoba mod page that you only need to download the ENglish version, so my guess is that your Yoba is not loading because you downloaded both files?

Lots of reasons why some mods break. Game version changed how things are done and the mod didn't get updated, mod does something inefficiently/weirdly that causes problems, mod clashes with another mod...those are the reasons I can think of off the top of my head.

If there is an error automatically installing dependencies, you can install them manually via pip install -r requirements.txt. You may need to use py -m pip instead of pip depending on your Python installation.

There was a conflict
There was two mods conflicting, doing the same thing, the Yoba mod and the english translation. It was recommended I removed one so that I could use the mod.
The one I kept was the english translation
Now, looking at the Yoba mod that I had kept, the maps have a file name of TMX.
Well now youâve got me curious lol I assumed that was the mod that gave me that
tldr: I am not certian, but I am like 75% sure that the english translation doesn't require TMXL... either that or I have no idea what is going on

The one I could find on Nexus Mods does have a TMX folder with its own manifest as well as a CP folder, so if the one you have is similar, you would want the manifest in the TMX folder, I think (to use in the converter, that is)

i think the only "issue" with cornucopia and lookup anything is that cornucopia does not use their exact mod id as a prefix for their items (they use a prefix, just not one exactly matching each mod), so lookup anything can't automatically identify the source mod like it can with some other objects
however, the prefix does include "cornucopia", which is a pretty big hint!

Is this their log from the crash? I don't see any indications of a crash here, but I do know that in general (unless something has changed) you cannot have both Immersive Farm 2 and Grandpa's Farm, you have to pick just one to use.
Would also be helpful to know where they are force-closing. Is it on SMAPI launch, is it on the title screen, is it when loading a save, etc.

Hi and yes this is their log. We have been playing with both the Immersive Farm 2 and Grandpa's Farm, even right now I'm using it and my game work just fine. I've told them to remove one of them and the problem still occurs. I've suggest to try playing vanilla and they said it works just fine so we assume it's because of SMAPI.
It's force closing on both, sometimes it crash on SMAPI launch and sometimes it's on title screen.
Please have them run through the troubleshooting steps in that link, and do note that if startup_preferences isn't visible for that step, then they may need to restart their computer before doing that one.
If the crash is on the title screen, they should have a crash log or error log to that effect, but they may not if it's on startup

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.

I know perfection tweaker exists, but it didn't seem to change anything last time I used to it for some odd reason.

I'm having trouble getting the nyapu's portrait mod to work with the jasper mod...
what portraits are you using for jasper originally? he comes with options when you download the mod, nyapus will only work with the "original" ones

My game keeps having troubles with saving. Like the things I put in my museum won't save and anytime I close out of the game for even a second it'll delete my progress for the day taking me back to the home page.

Kay so after tapping around a bit and updating the app. It's still being weird đĨ˛ I had the mods folder favorited but tapping into it just says it's empty. I can't find it any other way tho it just won't show up. And anytime I try to move a mod into the folder it says it already exists in there.
So the mods are still there, they're still in the game. They just kinda won't show up anywhere đ this is all on mobile btw the file manager I use is "file manager+"

crashes with no documentation can sometimes indicate a memory error, so i'd recommend restarting your computer and reinstalling the mods in red at the top of your log just in case

@dire fractal so basically (sorry for the ping) in order to fix that you need to combine that with your previous chest Deco. That's a replacement fix, so it has to be combined with the OG mod folder to be counted as a mod
