Diverse Stardew Valley 4.0+ is currently compatible with Android SMAPI for Stardew 1.5, with the exception of Linus's modded variant.

Yes. I wondered that same thing, so I went and downloaded it again, from GitHub this time. The zipped file did look different too. This one was called "Stardrop-osx-x64" But it's the same error I got with both
oof. I don't know if something has changed, but we generally recommend that people do not ever run SMAPI as administrator.
If I go to the path bar and find the StardewModdingAPI.dll and put that in the path, then I get a different error
I don't know necessarily. The only two files on the page were the 5.0 and 4.0 versions

Okay. I checked them all, and now I launched Steam again. On the Terminal, it said

It threw the aspen error and crashed. I have a new save, without the aspen mod and it has a couple warnings from some personal modding. but it does seem to some how be the aspen mod, and I cannot figure out why.

I opened Stardrop in Steam, and it says it's running. Then I launched SV in Steam because nothing else was happening
When I open Stardrop.app, it just shows me the file where I can choose which mods to use

Try doing that and it should get rid of the skipped mod error for Stardrop Installed Mods folder

This is what stardrop does
whether you “select” or deselect mods in stardrop means they end up in that ^ folder or not. without you having to mess about with the actual mods folder

I got Stardrop because I thought that was the interface to tell the mods what I want them to do
I've been playing on my iPad and it's really frustrating to me. I can't get through Skull Caverns. I got through the Volcano dungeon once, but now I can't do it again and I keep dying. I thought if I modded the game, I would be able to play better. I happen to hate the combat aspect of any game. I've played for nearly 200 hours (I'm ashamed but not ashamed of that) and thought I could recreate my game. I have a spouse, I have two children, I have over a million gold, but I can't get dragon teeth. I can't do Qi's quest. I can't progress because everything else I need to do is dependent on beating opponents
But I can't mod the iPad, so I thought I'd do it on Steam and kind of recreate all that I have on the iPad version

Makes complete sense to me. No reason for shame at all! Definitely way easier to do combat on pc. So as for Stardrop, it’s a mod manager but more in the sense that it lets you have multiple mod lists for different saves and it also makes downloading mods a bit easier.
So Stardrop isn't the solution. My bad. I watched a video where a guy set up heart levels with all the villagers and added in animals and what crops and buildings and all that stuff. I thought he used Stardrop, but I must be wrong about that

It was CJB now that you mention it. Plus the iPad doesn't have 1.6. What video? I have no clue now because I've watched so many. I'm sure I could go back and find it, and that would tell me how to make it work, I hope
and the auto attack doesn't work for you?
The problem with autoattack is that it works too well. I'll be dying and I need to eat food. I click on the food and then click on me to eat it, but by then the game has changed to the sword to fight off a slime and I can't feed myself. It switches for me, so I can't eat. Then I die, I lose gold, I lose items from my backpack, and the Adventurer's Guild will only restore one lost item. Sometimes I lose multiple weapons
and are you manually saving before each floor?
this happens to me too, but whenever i die i just close the app and continue from my last save backup
I don't know how to do that on the iPad. I only know that it saves at the beginning of each day. What you just said would be nice!

once you get used to doing that, it'll be muscle memory, and you won't be so frustrated anymore

and one of the few reasons why i like mobile (but it's still my least favorable platform)
I would still like to do some things differently though. But I find Steam to be irritating since I'm used to just clicking and making it go where I want. On Steam I have to use WASD and then hit a number to change the tool. On the iPad, it mostly uses the right tool based on what I'm hitting and I don't have to push buttons to make it move.

If I can do that, and I can get the Steam controls to work well for me, that would be amazing. I was honestly hoping that I could mod it and just get all the dragon teeth I need and so I don't have to do combat. I'm happy with farming and doing other tasks and not battling fire sprites

I can't jump to the island any time I want because the totem requires dragon teeth and the obelisk that I saved up money for requires dragon teeth too
but yeah, transferring your save doesn't mean it will be compatible with SMAPI/mods
use beach totems in meantime and a key to the town if you have walnut room unlocked
you just need to run from beach warp statue to willy's and you're at GI before 8 AM
I don't have the walnut room unlocked because I don't have enough golden walnuts because I can't battle through the fire dungeon to get more walnuts

But if you do end up bringing it over to pc, you might have to get an earlier version of smapi for compatibility.
That said i’d also very highly recommend asking about mods to make combat easier, add animals, add buildings, everything you mentioned in #modded-stardew There are so many helpful people in there and you’ll walk out with a million answers. It might be a bit overwhelming at first
And i’ve noticed you seem to do well with being able to read guides so below I’ve called up a link to a wiki page with mod recommendation lists you can look through. I’d suggest quality of life ones for you for starting out

I've enjoyed putting in all the work to get what I have so far, but I haven't enjoyed the combat issues. Aside from that, I've earned everything I've got. It's been fun
also friendly reminder that transferring saves wont work unless you're on same game version, so you'd need to convert to legacy 1.5.6 @solemn cargo and SMAPI/modding will not work on your iOS save

The game has two 'legacy' versions you can use:
legacy_1.5.6is the last version before Stardew Valley 1.6. This is a (probably temporary) branch for players whose mods don't work in 1.6 yet.compatibilityis the latest game update, but using outdated frameworks. This is more compatible with some older systems, but mods do not work in this branch.
To switch branch:
- On Steam: In your Steam library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas, and then choose the branch under the dropdown.
- On GOG: From the game's page in GOG Galaxy, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... and choose the branch under the Beta channels dropdown.

Yeah, I can't seem to figure out the reason for.. This while using Soft Slow Seasons. I downloaded the SSS files it had as well since I use DaisyNiko's Tilesheets for numerous mods. So I found another problematic mod spouting the same error. Both the Grandpa's Farm and Immersive Farms from SVE are throwing the same errors as last time
Ahyuk, nevermind, it was some stupid "mixed seeds tilesheets" I had for.. Some reason.

Here's how the rules about piracy apply here:
- You can't promote piracy, which includes helping someone fix or find a pirated version.
- Feel free to help a pirated user with questions and issues, as long as the issue isn't due to the piracy itself. For example, questions about mods are fine.
- If someone is using a pirated version, you can choose not to help or politely suggest buying a legit copy. However bullying, harassing, or chasing away users is never allowed.
In other words, if someone has already pirated the game and can confirm it's working in vanilla, then it's fine to help them with modding questions. At that point, the piracy has already occurred and you wouldn't be contributing to that, so it's your choice if you want to help.
Those are mutually exclusive farm map replacers! You have to pick one

Many mods are not compatible for Android, but there is an incomplete list of android compatible mods.
If you find a working mod that isn't on there, submit it by following the instructions here.
For mods not listed, they may or may not be compatible with android, but the Modding Android Wiki page provides more info on how to find a compatible version of a mod not listed in the first link.
I apologize, as I have seen that list already but I'm a bit unfamiliar with mods just off of name alone. I just started working through this today. I'll comb through it though and see if anything sticks out.
So, it may very well be a permissions issue. Trying to use Earthy recolour, the log shows that the access path is denied

some reason in my actual folder it was under "seeds" which got me more confused than anything, maybe I was delulu
if you had it from when you used earthy you would not have even noticed, those are compatible
I used earthy, seems when I used "Redone Stardew Valley" or whatever it was called, it was a requirement

How do you update your mods? Do you delete the old folder and unzip the new one

Coal Point has a config option to not Load JojaMart specifically for cases like this. You just need to untick that.

I apologize if this isn’t the right channel for this question: but say I have the Immersive Farm 2 that replaces the standard farm, but I want to start a new save with the standard farm…if I take the mod off temporarily to play the new file will it mess up my other save? Like if I wanted to return to the immersive file I could just put the appropriate mod back in the mod folder? I hope that makes sense 😅
that does work! you could also get the stardrop mod manager if you want, then you can enable or disable it with just a click instead of having to put it in or out constantly
your other save can only get impacted permanently if you open it with the different farm settings, and then save it.

Looking at the code, Wild Animals gives you 50% of getting the regular junimo, 33% of getting mushroom junimo and 16% of getting flower junimo every time you change locations.

I have some new information in regards to setting up mods on Android if there is a member of staff that would like to pass on the information to each other.
I have figured out a methodology that has solved the issues I have been having in regards to SMAPI not being able to parse the manifest.
I'm not sure why, but I have it on good authority that WinRAR is somehow corrupting the manifest when trying to extract the mod folder directly into ROOT from internal storage. So, what I have done is this:
- Download the mod to internal storage
- Extract the mod in internal storage
- Use a file manager (I use ZArchiver with Shizuku root) to move the unpacked mod to the ROOT com.zane.stardewvalley mod folder.
However good this clarification is to anyone, I don't know. What I do know is that I actually know how to do this consistently now, so I'm happy.
i do that all the time in my old phone, but this new phone ultimately crashes the smapi app

SMAPI only works with SDV 1.5.6.39, so if you don't have that you're kind out of luck

There are countless reasons as to why it doesn't work, but in general, it doesn't work for the fact that they simply have different coding iirc?
Also, the creator of SMAPI for Android still hasn't updated it, whether it's due to the extra effort required or the pressure of the Android users community, I think it's hard to say
Getting it to work has been the closest thing to threading a needle I've done with software. All of the stars and planets need to align perfectly and there's so much that can go wrong that I didnt even consider
It's harder to update SMAPI for mobile than pc, so ~~pathos ~~ zane has dropped support afaik
I'm not sure if he'll ever update it again but there's no news currently
Plus, SMAPI android has problems itself
I've seem people have issues with the modded game suddenly stopping to work (because SMAPI for some reasons changes the folder it uses, which can combust the whole game and trust me, I never, NEVER found so far, any fix for that thing 😅)
What I think needs to happen is just better documentation.

The sad thing is this happens in a lot of communities. The developer of the PS2 emulator AetherSX2 essentially dropped the project over death threats to update the program faster

With cp/at/ui mods etc you can just delete them from your mods folder

With expansion mods/mods that add content (like animals or whatever) you must make sure you remove all mod content from your world before removing it
ridgeside is not a part of sve
Especially with RSV, you gotta be careful removing it
You can always make a list and see what mods have been updated and which ones didn't for you to see what you want or not to remove!
Removing them is very easy, just move them somewhere from the /Mods folder or delete them

I can't really say how exactly tho you're gonna have to go to someone else for advice on how to remove it safely without bricking your save

So, idk. If anyone ever has any issues on android with "access to X is denied", just tell them to extract the file before moving it.

Hello! I'm having an issue with Stardrop on Mac, I can't see or interact with the SMAPI console when I launch the game through Stardrop? I can also launch the game by launching SMAPI directly, but then it runs every mod I have downloaded and I'm using Stardrop profiles. I tried to follow the directions here to launch Stardrop through Terminal https://github.com/Floogen/Stardrop/issues/175 but that still didn't result in a visible SMAPI console. I'm not sure what to do, thank you for reading!

i think your first option is to install Default On Cheats https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/21035, which enables you to run console commands in the chat window instead of requiring the SMAPI console.
you may also try these steps as a workaround:
- Open Terminal. Go to File->New Shell.
- Set directory by entering
cd /Applications/Stardrop.appinto the terminal shell and pressing RETURN key. - Launch Stardrop by entering
./Contents/MacOs/Stardropinto the terminal shell and pressing RETURN. Stardrop should appear as normal. - Launch through Stardrop as normal. The SMAPI console will take over the terminal shell used to launch Stardrop.

please extract the whole file you downloaded before trying to run the installer
in addition to what ichor said, if you are worrying about smapi not showing but everything is running smoothly, you don't need to do anything and can just proceed to play. For looking at the smapi log, smapi.io/log has a handy tool to read them and it gives you instructions where to find the log as well.

idk if anyone has any idea, but lately when ive been playing modded stardew ive been crashing at random times - at first i thought it was bc of this other thing i had that made a window stick to the forefront so that i could play stardew and watch something (one monitor and true ipad kid here ok) but i uninstalled that and its still crashing even afetr updating mods, making stardew have the highest performance (maybe not highest ram allocation but it takes up a hot minute of ram alr), etc. when it crashes, my discord also closes out and i get an amd bug report toolkit popup. if i have twitch running, itll stop that too. it happens randomly and its been fine when its start of a day but now its happening as im getting closer to ends of days and i keep wanting to rage lmao, i ask this here because it happens when im playing stardew and at this point idfk what to do. ill add the log parser thing too. i know this channel is p busy so if someone has an idea theyre free to DM me too so stuff isnt getting all jumbled in this channel! thanks in advance!

It's not complicated to extract to the correct folder
yes once the zipper is gone you have succesfully extracted the Mod. you can now Copy or Cut it and paste it into your Mods folder
some people somehow struggle with it. just let the banana monk help them with it

I'm having a mod conflict between Resource Chickens (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/21800?tab=description) and Animals Don't Remove Grass (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/21028). Resource chickens adds another coop upgrade which doubles both the animal capacity and the spaces on the feeding bench. For some reason, when ADRG is installed, some of the spaces (I think it's always 10) don't get autofed and I have to manually put hay on them every day. No problem without ADRG. I'd really like to use both, so I'm looking for insight into if it's something I could fix myself or if there's something I could tell one of the mod authors to suggest a fix. the thing my previous machine was gone, but I don't have the necessary materials yet to craft a new one. I'll have to work on obtaining those first. However, when I picked up the cancelled sign in it's place and tried to throw it, my game crashed.

Depends on if you're dealing with interiors or exteriors, if it's exteriors, that's easy enough, but interiors are more tricky and might require editing a mod to try to only patch the interior inside the main farmhouse location.

Yeah, in multiplayer, it's more likely that the player that doesn't want to see the changes just won't install that particular mod.

Changing an individual cabin's interior is odd because of how the LocationNames work, and the possibility that you'd have to find the userID assigned to a cabin to differentiate it.
Maybe I can look things over and see what the code looks like switching myself
Are you doing this on single player? That may be easier to figure out then, since you'd be pretty consistent on the cabin IDs

Unless Bathroom after 2nd House Upgrade has been updated since March 2024, it is likely to not work, since the new House Renovations take the spot where the bathroom was before, and create an inaccessible black space where the bathroom used to be.
Lots of people had issues with that one
Non Destructive NPCs will also not work, which is why SMAPI won't load it and throws a red error, you should remove it.

If you're on the latest SVE, the Seasonal Cute portraits mod may not be up to date to match it, as it cannot find the basic SVE portrait files to replace them. The game will likely run but the portraits will be wrong.

If you didn't remove the old folder first, it's possible that following the "delete then update" method will fix some of the missing files.
Ah, okay then, it's likely just that the portrait mod is still outdated.
but i will try to do it again and hope that maybe i forgot to delete that one
Specifically reinstall SVE, since that's where the original portrait files are that it can't find

Not sure why it'd be when placing junimo sprinklers but the error also mentions these two mods:
at StardewValley.GameLocation.draw_PatchedBy<Rafseazz.RidgesideVillage>(GameLocation this, SpriteBatch b)```
And it just so happens you have some errors in your skipped mods related to these mods, specifically Polysweet's CP component. Please clean at least these if not all of your skipped mods up and submit a new log.
Make sure when updating you do not overwrite files and make sure to delete all parts of the mod you're updating

I didn't say to disable polysweet bed, please clean this up: (CP) Polyamory Sweet! because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\[CP] Polyamory Sweet, Mods\Polyamory Sweet\[CP] Polyamory Sweet. and while you're at it please update everything in yellow. No point troubleshooting if this is a bug fixed in an update.
To put it in simpler terms, in your mods folder you have [CP] Polyamory Sweet and then you also have another [CP] Polyamory Sweet inside the PolyamorySweet mod folder. Delete all of these, the whole Polyamory Sweet folder and redownload the mod Polyamory Sweet fresh
Sorry if this is a bit too much to keep track of but once you've updated and cleared out the skipped mods, hopefully the log will be able to give us some more information

hello, my game keeps freezing up and spams the smapi console with an error code each time it tries to load the summer_ambient music. i already did the basics of reinstalling game, mods, verifying integrity of the game but it keeps happening. the summer_ambient music is edited by a mod im currently making and the .ogg im using is not corrupted in any way and i already replaced it once. maybe somebody could be of assistance of whats wrong? here's the log by the way https://smapi.io/log/1b66f41e86804e2f9c238e449de07eae

that sounds like a case for #making-mods-general
You can always check what a mod folder should look like by going to the nexus page and clicking preview file contents. (see below) Unless a mod specifically tells you to move its contents elsewhere, you should never need to do anything for it but unzip and drop the one folder in.
ah, sorry. i was unsure where to post it first since in the smapi log it shows 1 error in the basegame, thats why i came here first
the error being on the game level doesn't actually mean it's originating from the base game, it just means it's happening there. the cause can often be found in the longer explanation on the right
just repeats about 5 and a half thousand times that theres a loop and the index was outside the bounds of the array. i dont really know why, its really just the summer day ambient thats doing this, everything else works fine
if the issue persists with your mod removed, then it's an issue for here. if it is caused by your mod, then it's an issue for #making-mods-general

And a few updates. Use the links in yellow at the top of your log to make sure you're getting the right update. Then delete the rest of the skipped mods and grab a fresh log please.
Once you've done that, and you're positive you downloaded them all (check version number on the zip you downloaded against the version smapi wanted you to have) and if there are any updates still showing in your log, they might be manifest errors. But we can sort that out after.

Do the error logs keep track of only the previous time the game was launched, or whenever it last crashed?
strange thing I noticed: when doing the textures to cause the crash again, it started to crash, then stopped when i'd used the spray bottle over it quiky. could it possibly be a specific texture causing issue?

also I updated everything, its still showing out of date ones for some at packs and gender neutrality mod

Having an issue with my modlist crashing randomly when I get near the end of the day 7-10PM, happens like once every 5 days or so. - Before reset, did you download this unofficial update for stardew time? If not, please do. And remember, if it asks to overwrite when you drop a mod in, you didn't delete the previous one completely.
- As for skipped mods, below is why we ask to clear out skipped mods. When you pull out a framework (like quest framework or dynamic game assets), it reveals other mods you need to get rid of.
- I'd like you to try a resetting your game files (see Governor below) once you've done 1 and 2 and then grab another log. Thanks for your patience, trust me you won't have to do this a lot, the worst is behind you for sure.
Yeah I made sure not to overwrrite any this time. I did update stardew time as well, from the link it gave me. Is there a different version I should do than the newest nofficial one?

If SMAPI tells you that a mod can be updated even if you have already downloaded the latest version, it may be an error with the manifest's version number. To check, open the mod's manifest.json and change the version number to match the mod page if they do not already match.
