Did you remove AT entirely or just packs? I thought its a conflict between earthy and medieval. Remove one and see if it fixes it.

It adds a gear icon to the main menu, which you can use to change the configs of mods while the game is running using a nice user interface; it also adds a Mod Options button at the bottom of the Options screen which lets you change some mod configs while a save is loaded
My game suddenly started acting up once I placed Stardew realty auto grabbers in my game
(Some things you can't change while actively playing, so the mod authors disable that)
For example, this is from Earthy Recolour's nexus page. I don't see an option for shipping bin so I'd focus on Medieval and MSVE

Looks good! Maybe remove the SMAPI installer from your Mods folder (since it's done its job installing SMAPI and now is just sitting there) but all your mods have loaded

If you'd like to just quick fix, do the updates, delete the red mods, and keep the screenshot so you can find replacements later.

Okay so it looks like you're all set. The issue was with Water Your Crops after all. Please copy this log of yours https://smapi.io/log/69023c05dadb46eca698e9338a2aade8 and post it on the nexus page. I would mention that the fix provided in the discord was removing the mod and resetting game files and then also leave the link to your latest log without the errors.

In the end, we started removing all of the stuff down to just SVVE, but it was still having the issue... so I thought, just to be neurotic about it, I'd reinstall my mods from scratch again (which I just did two days ago, mind you) annnnnnd that fixed it 🙃 . Soooo, I don't have a clue what happened, I'm assuming a setting got corrupted or something weird and I'm half expecting it to happen again in the near future.

actually i think my junimo huts are just broken in general because i also cant apply any alternative textures to them

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
there's very few people in here who can actually help with Android modding sadly, I am not one of them but maybe someone else sees this and has an idea
Just a random side question: do you think I could download mods using a mod manager and then just remove the files that let the mod manager control the deployment?
if you use stardrop, you don't have to do anything like that
it installs mods for you, and connects to nexus as well, but it doesn't take your control over the mod folder away
so you can always start the game via steam or directly via smapi and it will still work and load all mods
they should pay attention even a little to Stardew Valley and SMAPI on the phone because the updates are very few and the problems are many

If you want more support for android, you're welcome to stay around and learn how to do it yourself so you can help others, too, then we have more attention on it.

@compact verge do you know if there's a way to make the frame only show up in the vendor dialogues and not in common dialogue? because for some reason my ordinary portraits are displaying properly
This is what I meant by "tedious" because to do this you'd need to alter the UI field of each vendor one by one.
The ordinary portraits are displayig "properly" because Portraited Changing Skies uses Dialogue Display Framework that stretches the portraits by 8 pixels, overlaying where the gaps should be. Unfortunately DDF doesn't affect vendor UI so the portraits shown there are normal size, smaller than the streched one in the dialogue box.
If you want to make them uniform, you can try deactivating/deleting the DDF folder in Portraited Changing Skies.
I just tried to download SDE and while the game launches, it gets stuck in character creation and I get "the application isn't responding". Help :^)

pre 1.6 i used a mod to have a black cat in game. After the update i wanted to take out the mod and edit the save file to have the new one. i did all the things you do when editing a save file and I've double checked a thousand times that it did in fact save my changes but when i load the game it acts like nothing ever happened and its just the default cat and i just do not understand.

it looks like your PC is taking a long time to load the game. this happens when your hardware is older so Content Patcher loads the assests 1 by 1. I see in the log that the game spent 10 minutes loading the assets before you closed the game.
I don't think your PC will be able to run SVE

But yeah, I'm not sure what's hiding most of my farmer aside from the modded eyes. Removing mods I thought had been the culprit didn't help, and I don't know what to do because removing all these mods and content packs individually will take a while

You are able to use both at the same time, if you disable the Better Chest features that do the same thing as Convenient Chests
Better Chests has like 20 features, all of which you can disable and pick just the ones you want
You can do the load half at a time.
Divide them into 2 group and load 1. Keep dividing the loaded group till the problem goes poof then you can narrow it down easier.
I suggest a new farm to avoid corrosion.
I mean this in the most neutral way possible but I think you should take some time and clean up your mods folder. It’ll help significantly to narrow down the problem.

hello I have an issue with the mod "Adventurer's Guild Expanded for 1.6" I saw the cutscene for expanding the mod that features robin, marlon and the witch/wizard and I gave robin the 600 wood. I should note that Fruit Tree Tweaks itself has no function to spawn trees on its own, the closest it has is altered logic to place trees that the user themselves are trying to place. i could see it causing an error, though, if the tree the user tried to place was a tree that doesnt exist. even if it were just the fruit that didnt exist (but somehow were still on the tree and didnt just throw an error in game?) FTT would only draw the fruits past the first 3, it lets the game handle the original 3 fruits (aside from also transpiling some slight effects on the fruits, but not the fruit texture or texture value itself).

If you are on Stardew Valley 1.5.6 on the legacy branch, and SMAPI 3.18.6 has been installed (you need to run the installer after swapping SDV to legacy branch,), and SMAPI will not launch, can you please confirm that you are opening StardewModdingAPI.exe and provide additional details like your operating system or a log? SMAPI should provide a crash log if it is failing in most cases.

you have two options, renaming the portraits folder inside SCC so it can't be found and applied or setting a false dependency inside mono's manifest.json to load after SCC

is my smapii QOL save the same as my vanilla save like if I play on my modded then switch back to vanilla will the progress still be there ?

like if I was to play on my modded save of my current farm and say I went mining and then put the stuff in the chest in my shed or house etc and then at some point switched back to the same file but vanilla would the items be in the chest still? (ofc non modded items)

Okay the long answer is that I suppose as long as whatever you're defining as "progress" isn't touched at all by your mods (which again would require someone to look at your log) then sure? Short answer, make a backup of your save and give it a shot? Though I'd wait to see if other volunteers have thoughts to confirm.
Depends on what you mean by progress. If you handed in a vanilla community bundle or purchased vanilla items or whatever, yeah it'll still be there. if you married Modded NPC McModdedson, trying to load that save in vanilla will crash it.
yeah so basically as long as the mods don't directly affect it then it should be fine? like just a pure example if I were to go mining and put the ore, stone etc in a chest the save it would still be there because its part of the base game and not affected by mods

It is highly dependent on what your mods are doing, as both puppershuffle and Wingheart have stated. Modded items will break or in some cases prevent you from loading, Modded inventories/chests will error and may prevent you from loading or otherwise break if you store items in them, etc.
Vanilla items and vanilla mechanics should be mostly un-impacted.

If your mods are mostly things like recolor packs, then you'll experience little to no side effects.

yeah I figured as much and there's a few reasons one of which is some of the people who sometimes join are too lazy to sort mods so when I'm by myself which is more than when they're on I can play with small QOL things then switch when they wanna join and also on vanilla my ss go straight to my steam which ik not a huge reason because ofc there's lots of ways to ss or screen grab but yeah mainly for when someone else joins and plus some people can't always handle some mods etc etc 🙂
I'd recommend a modded save for youself and a vanilla save for multiplayer

Okay just gently advising you that modded multiplayer is known to cause issues
so just be mindful and always keep your backup saves

If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

okay so i figured out that it's a vanilla stardew bug. I removed everything except content patcher and item spawner and those maroon pixels still show up on the tight pants. im kinda surprised other people haven't noticed??

I would start with the ones throwing red errors and then update whatever’s left. While you’re doing that, see what you can and can’t live without. For some reason, some of my mods, mainly the Moth Wings mod, don't work at all. I get no errors in SMAPI, but when go to add items to my inventory SMAPI says they don't exist

you could also spawn in the money and go buy them first thing. they are pretty cheap, if memory serves
Try using debug fuzzyitemnamed/fin/f it’s much more forgiving than debug item
so something like debug fin paint might work
or you could try debug itemnamed paint bucket
but yeah i’d just spawn the money like ichor said, much much easier

Two things: your LevelUp mod is out of date, and those are found in the debug commands page, which states that they all need to have debug in front of the command to work

from which mod do the colourful ferngill wildflower seeds come from? i know it's from a wildfour one but i can't figure out which; i've looked through the files and its nowhere in the garden variety mixed seeds nor the forager mod. just wanting to know so i can report a bug issue about the seeds not placing on the correct mod page
Installing the mods once you have SMAPI working is as easy as extracting your mod zip files and moving the folder into your Mods folder created by SMAPI.

You will need to do a fresh install of smapi on your new computer first to have a mods folder to transfer your mods into.

You might be able to transfer your save_backups folder (in your game folder) but I'm not entirely sure
Please note that if you have the same save on different computers, you may need to sleep a day and then allow the Cloud Sync to upload the newer save so you don't lose forward progress when swapping back and forth

Yep, so you should have another Mods folder on the D drive in that location, which is the one you would use and add files to

You can unzip them right in your downloads folder if you want, that's what I do.
Hi! So i led you astray a bit with my last suggestion. The auth failure seems to indicate you're using Gog instead of Steam. If thats correct, I'd advise you repair/reinstall GOG Galaxy and see if the issue persists. And if you have the issue of crashing again, please refer back to the troubleshooting guide I linked to you and submit a fresh log.
You move it to your Mods folder, which should be visible from wherever you set SMAPI's target path when installing SMAPI

It's likely in the same place that you need to go unless things are really really weird
That place being your game folder (wherever it is) and in that folder should also be Stardew Valley.exe. That folder should contain your Mods folder which is where you want to paste the extracted mod folders to @dire fractal (forgot to @)

So whatever mod you unzipped should now be a folder with the mod's name, you want to take that folder and either copy/paste the folder to where you see ConsoleCommands and SaveBackup, or just click and drag it into the window there to move it without making an extra copy.

I use beta/indev mods so that is part of the reason for the out of date error.
Can I use Json Assets (1.10) for SDV 1.6 or is it strictly Json Assets (1.11)? feel like one of the mods are unstable in v 1.11

always remove all existing items first, it can seriously mess up your game
i gave them a purple mushroom and talked to them. these are the points after the next day
do they loose a heart only when you give them items?
i give them another loved gift and talk to them and only a net gain of 4 points
i still gain hearts giving to them but... i dont think a net gain of only 4 points for a loved gift and talking to them is normal. unless it is
4 seems wrong, but also: "You can give your spouse one gift every day of the week, but any friendship gain or loss is halved" that may interfere with things if the value got shifted at all

I'm on Android and I play the game normally without any bugs or such so, but whenever I open the traveling cart shope menu so I can browse the items, yhe game force-stops for some reason, is it a mod that's causing that to happen? And if so, what could it be?

hmm, the stack trace itself doesn't call out anything obvious, but every error is preceded by a warning from Item Bags, so i suspect Item Bags is involved (the warning is probably not related to the error, but it's probably somewhere in the call stack)

Hello! I am helping my Friend install SMAPI on their Computer. He has played the game before for a small bit of time and he is using Windows 11 with the newest version for Stardew and the newest Version for SMAPI. But, everytime he opens the game, the prompt menu opens, where it then says "Waiting for Game to start...". Then shortly after the prompt closes and nothing happens; we checked the path and it is correct and SMAPI should have been correctly installed.

I'm really sorry that I'm still confused. I'm not really good at reading/understanding code. I just followed the instructions of other modders that were using portraiture as a workaround, so I'm not sure what exactly to do to fix it 😦

Hi!! I don't really know where I should ask, but a friend and I are playing stardew valley with smapi and we're trying to use multiplay gaming. It worked the first time we played together but now she can't send me the code to join her/our farm (she's the host). It seems like "invite friend" and "send invitation code" buttons are gone. Is this an error of smapi or the game itself?

I could use some help with the tractor mod.... I have the config file open and I've changed everything to true (I think) but it is not taking out the rocks in the mines which is the whole reason I got this mod.... any ideas where I can go to trouble shoot? That mod is a portrait replacer. You're supposed to use it to replace the portraits in Talkohlooey's seasonal mod instead of having them in their own folder.
So do I just replace the portraits from looking for love into the talkohlooey portraits for each character?
The folder is structured in such a way that you can just copy, paste and overwrite the [CP] 1oxnes and talkohlooeys' Seasonal Portraits folder.

You need to run the game through SMAPI, either by opening the SDV SMAPI excecutable file itself, or to linki to it via your game launcher. If you've been following the wiki guide, it'd tell you how to do this.

a bunch of your mods are several versions out of date. try updating them and seeing if that works
are the two logs you posted from a multiplayer save? bc if so, you have horribly mismatched mod lists

Yeah
in order to troubleshoot multiplayer saves, we need the logs of every player on the save
also, its just easier to troubleshoot in general if all mods are up-to-date. rules out bugs that have been fixed in later versions as culprits

This is a known issue with stardrop on mac, one sec while i grab some steps for you to work around it
Workaround: Download this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/21035 It’ll enable use of commands in the in-game chat.
If you want direct access to the console for some reason, ping me and i’ll walk you through it
@zenith kernel But I’d definitely still recommend following Megan’s advice. update the mods in yellow (below) and delete the mod multisave for 1.6 from your mod folder as it’s no longer compatible.

I'm trying to add the Stardew Valley Extended mod on Steam on my Mac but all the online advice I can find isn't helping.
- I installed SMAPI 4.0.8
- I put the Stardew Valley Extended folder in the mods folder for Steam
- I put ContentPatcher and FarmType Manager in the mods folder too because one of the sites I used to troubleshoot told me to
- I run Stardew Valley on Steam and I get the error "open-smapi-terminal.command" can't be opened because (null) is not allowed to open documents in Terminal (that's word for word what it says including the "null" part)
