Hello, I have some items in my inv i cant get rid of? theyre from mods i no longer have, and they now have a red "blocked" icon. Some of these i can pick up and trash (even get some money back, so i dont waste ALL my hard work so far :D) but some i cant pick up, as it "shifts" my menu screen and doesnt let me grab them with my cursor, how can i get rid of them?

Check through your log and do the following (I've added screenshots to guide you). Delete the red (or follow instructions to replace) and update the purple. Then try launching again and if there are still issues send a new log.

in reference to the mods for infinite money & expanded preconditions utility upon going into the links for infinite money i have already downloaded and installed version 1.0.1 and it is still stating there is an update available so i do not have the capability of fixing that as it would have to be directed to the creator of the mod for that one as for the expanded preconditions utility i have already checked for updates and it is telling me that there is no updates for that mod as it is no longer compatible and that the mods could not be added to the game for that expanded preconditions utility.

downloading them from nexus, deleting the mod from my mods folder, copying the location i'm extracting it to, then extracting to the location

You need the optional file NOT the main file

i think there was an error i had with this once... had to do with a mahogany seed drop from frog friends in 1.5.6 which caused me to have to force enable placement over it which destroyed the item in question

guys, i have this mod that changes the forest farm to a more open space one, the problem is it didnt get updated to 1.6, and apparently it also got removed from nexus for some reason, ic ant find it anymore, i already have a nice looking farm and i dont wanna start over, its kinda bugged, what do i do? could i look out for someone and ask if another modder could update the mod for me or smth

Hey y'all. I'm suddenly having an issue where some sprinklers aren't watering tilled soil. I am using the Flexible Sprinklers mod and the Cluster behavior. Each morning, about 70% of the sprinklers work perfectly, and the other 30% do nothing. I'm not getting any errors in SMAPI. So far I've tried picking the sprinklers up and putting them back down, crafting fresh ones, and toggling various options on Flexible Sprinklers. do you have any mods that keep tilled soil around longer than normally or otherwise change soil behavior? i had the same problem when using some no soil decay mod
hmm I don't think so, but I'll go thru and check
I don't have an answer better than Kristian's but its also worth noting that Flexible Sprinklers, while 1.6 compatible, is not maintained anymore. You shouldn't need to worry about this all that much since you don't have warnings about it, I'm just putting it here for other support volunteers in case it comes up
Also unrelated but watch out for harvest with scythe and tractor mod as they can get mad at each other and break scythes on the tractor

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed their game breaking with clothing mods?
I noticed I can keep Fashion Sense itself in, but when I put in what seems to be any of the clothing mods to go with it, as soon as I use my mouse scroll wheel my buildings and crops disappear and I have to force close my game

I used the old adventurers guild on my save and got the crafting recipe via an event which used JA. Then there's a 1.6 update that removed JA requirements and now my crafting recipe is missing.
I tried /debug craftingrecipe Slime Soul (the craftable item from the event) but it tells me recipe already exists.
Anyway to rewatch the event or something? To regift me the crafting recipe. Or anyway to "remove" the recipe

I can give you some general advice but I think I'm a bit too tired to figure this one out ๐ Someone might come along who can help but in the meantime, I would recommend checking this list of mods from your log to see if any of them (1) have updates or (2) are out of date. Paying special attention to fashion sense mods. It might be a bit of a wild goose chase, so I'm sorry if thats the case. Sorry forgot to ping. Essentially the game is looking for an object that doesn't exist in your game when its trying to draw your farmer and somebody more familiar with that than me (when im tired) will certainly be able to help
This is still helpful, as I just thought I would try play a day without any mods related to Fashion Sense and my game crashed again. It happened towards the end of the day rather than the start this time but I did still have some of these mods in from the screen shot
I will give it another go and take mods that are out of date. Majority of them are updated but I did add ones that I've seen people say still work even if they were like back in 2021 lol

But yeah the whole point of Automate is that you put machines next to chests, or next to machines or connectors, and it'll link all adjacent machines/connectors/chests

Yep! They're all part of the same group, since there is an unbroken line of machines to the chest.
Also note that it WILL automatically put things in the shipping bin if the contraption touches it!

Hello, I'm experiencing severe lag issues with SMAPI on my laptop despite meeting the required specs. When used on another device (in this case I used my brother's laptop) there is little to no lag and has similar specs except only double my laptop's RAM (4GB). The lag appears to worsen when my laptop isn't on power or is using power saving mode.
and yes this still occurs even when SMAPI is the only program running on my laptop
does your laptop have 4GB RAM or is that already doubled?
and no I don't use too many mods, it fact I monitor my memory usage and it stays around 500MB

the CPU usage also spikes up alot when the lag occurs
so your brother has 8GB, correct?

RAM usage remain normal when this happens, doesn't go over 90% unless I'm running another program like Discord or Edge
Checking logs don't show any errors
that makes sense, if you're low on memory your CPU has to work overtime
Does SMAPI have an issue with memory compression?
also I don't run out of memory easily just by running Stardew
it's more on the CPU usage spike that's causing the lag or is related to the lag
and the CPU is an i3-N305 1.8GHz
not on my end at least, same-ish memory usage running vanilla or SMAPI (no mods)
I've tried a couple of solutions like setting SMAPI on high priority or changing the CPU affinity and nothing seems to work

the lag appears to have disappeared after I deleted the logs...until it happened again after playing for a while and exited to title
can you run the task manager while you play and
- note down your CPU/RAM usage while idle and during spikes; also note down what the game does when it spikes
- run one test without any mods (rename the folder
modsto.mods) and one with mods; through SMAPI both times
(my suspicion, you spike every time you warp)

Hmmm, if I were to be specific based on my previous experiences, it's quite possible since recently when going inside one of the modded greenhouse the lag was so much it's practically unplayable
running SMAPI barebones seems fine, trying modded now

after playing for a while and entering pelican town through one entrance, I decided to enter it through another entrance (through the mountains) and CPU usage spiked from 5% to 20%

could be linked to Visible Fish, it's the only mod doing anything on these warps

um, does finding the source of the lag will help explain why I'm lagging only on my laptop and not on others?
could be Part of the Community, it updates the friendship status of all NPC around when you interact with NPC
preferably I'd like to keep all my mods and instead find what's causing my lag specifically on my laptop if it's not an issue on other devices
I should also explain both me and my brother run on the same set of mods
but don't intend to play on multiplayer anytime soon, we play separately
the reason why is pretty obvious I think, your brother's laptop can allocate double the memory, so the cache doesn't have to be rewritten as often
so it still has something to do with ram...?

we established it's not the fact that you run a modded game (SMAPI naked), but simply the amount of and which mods you run
you can't install more RAM on your system, as you said, so in order to smoothen the experience we have to eliminate the worst offender(s)

should I mention that I also run Genshin which uses over 100% memory on certain locations
there's not really a time that I suddenly need more considering Stardew is a low end game compared to the other games I play which is far more memory intensive

not sure this is a modded-game-support question. but:
the bench back is on the Front layer, so it appears in front of you (and NPCs). this is so you can walk behind the bench and have it look right. however, that means it also renders in front of NPCs when they sit on it
the fix is how Town sets up its similar bench: there are bushes behind it, so you can't walk there, and it is not placed on the Front layer

The icons are inventory tabs from Better Chests. You can disable InventoryTabs to remove them in Better Chests mod config options.

It's really only helpful if you use a huge infinite storage chest, and you want a quick way to access specific items

Also it's probably irrelevant but it looks like you need an update for Bus Locations https://github.com/Xytronix/BusLocations/releases/tag/1.2.2. And if you could remove Stardew Valleasy and retest that would make reading the log a bit easier.
Did you delete the log or something? There's no reason you'd have to rerun sdv unless you didn't have the error the last tun or you deleted the log

- In the 'run' box that appears, enter this exact text:

- Open it with a text editor and see if you can send a photo of it in here with your phone

Yeah that is the issue with a raw log and why smapi.io/log is great (it parses it into a more manageable log). But if you send just a few screenshots, some of the most important information is at the top and usually logs are onloy that long due to repeating errors we can get to later. But if you'd rather wait, that's also fine.

Warp points are referencing Custom_WTDR_GhostTown and Custom_StargrowValley_ZuzuDispensaryInterior which cannot be found but I can't remember what mod those are from. Do you know Dolphin?

I keep getting these black areas randomly while playing in full screen. If in windowed its just alot of stuttering. If I minimize it and go back into it the issue goes away, I have no clue what could be causing this. Ideas?
Ive followed the smapi help doc for stuttering and other issues with no change.
They don't have that mod. Could that be causing some of the errors?
I have looked through my logs and done updates but I cannot plant coffee and have far too many mods, Anyone else with full Wilfflower stuff and do you see the same issue if you do? There is no event that happens or error to stop it just refuses to plant on tilled land in a greenhouse
Honestly it seems that the warp list is severely outdated because it has Stargrow Valley, which hasn't been around since 2021.

None of the updated mods are crop related and I just did so just not loaded from that cause the dwarven expansion or phoenixes are not likely to impact the coffee

So I've always had this issue when modding. How do I make sure my portraits are in the correct folders?

Hey everyone! Since things seem livelier now, I'm gonna repeat my question from earlier today, hope that's okay?
I'm playing with Start In Ginger Island mod and seem to have broken my ostrich coop, see screen shot. I rolled back to a save from yesterday, taken in the middle of the day with save anywhere mod, maybe that's involved? The backup save from the day before yesterday has no issues with the coop.

Ah testing with garden pots I think I found it... I think the custom bush/better crops/forgage tea sapplind it so it would not be on tilled but untilled to work facepalm
That's because the mod doesn't seem to support IF2R. You can ask for it in the comment section!

What cheat engine?
The better crops and forage mod tea sapplings some base crops. I knew blueberries annoyingly were included but missed they changed coffee to tea sappling-line so it will not plant on tilled earth it must be untilled to work
checking in a garden pot like you mentioned showed up like a tea sappling to ui info which was the clue
It's a game value hacking program called Cheat Engine.
Only two things I can imagine apply to portraits are these... which I do not understand.

I'm guessing by speeding up the game, he wants things like movements and schedules and stuff to be sped up too, which CJB Cheats unfortunately doesn't support. (I miss FastForward. ๐ )

there's a few other things you'll need actually. yes tmxl is obsolete but you also need a different expanded preconditions utility. commobn mistake as the correct file is the second one on the page see here

Looks like you've been putting your mods not in your mods folder. Could you go to finder -> Go (top) -> Go to folder and then type in exactly this: "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Stardew Valley/Contents/MacOS"

You must have created it accidentally. Try putting all of your mods into the folder called "Mods" inside of "MacOS"
Pay attention to the path bar on the bottom, it can be vital when figuring out if you're in the right folder. If you don't have it, go to View -> Show Path Bar
Just wanted to let you know I see you. I'm sorry. I'm not too familiar with Portraiture. Hopefully someone comes along who is. In the meantime, I would go to the mod pages for Portraiture and wherever you're getting your portraits for instructions in their descriptions.

Remove SAAT, minecarts & Extra map layers
Everyone says PyTK is no longer needed
The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
It isn't but the manifest says it is
So you gotta fix the manifest
When I do that it says other mods no longer work because they don't have those mods
Remove those, you gotta be severely outdated then
SAAT and extra map layers died in the 1.6 update
Content patcher "ate" them
As far as I know they should work regardless, but, it could be the manifest like you say
No we need to remove them
If you have mods asking for them they are also probably out of date
Amd we gotta remove these to see them
The manifest fix is for pytk

It's different then painting buildings

Robin can in Vanilla Game, paint your buildings with very basic vanilla colors
AT (alternative textures) let's you "paint" a "skin" onto items
People make packs called AT packs to be used with Alternative Textures
So you can download a mod called "Mediaval Buildings"
But it won't work unless you ALSO download AT
