it should work like any other mod after you unzip into your folder. it needs content pecks for it though

If you want to have Steam and Modded be separate you can just search for the StardewModdingApi
in your Stardew Valley folder and pin it to the task bar.

Ray what are you doing opening and closing the map?
All i was doing in game is opening the inventory
are your ui and game scaled same or different as in your zoom level
i have map per zoom mod, thats the only thing which changes the UI but that only keeps the map size the same as it was set to previously
can you on steam right click stardew valley > Manage > browse local files
can you copy the file path and paste it here

you might want to take out the mods that affects your UI and zoom levels one by one and see if it changes anything
I doubt it is just RSV but it seems their map is giving the error. You can try a clean reinstall of RSV as well while you are at it
you need a space between Stardew and Valley in the file path on launch options
If we're talking launch options, they also need the "s and the %command%

and jic i am not clear: a clean redownload is where you delete the previous file and put the freshly downloaded file instead of re-writing it
ok now its working now the next problem is that game capture for streaming through streamlabs as it is stating that it is not a game file and that it shuts down the application for smapi when using streamlabs

Modded NPCs will stay in bed the first day they're added to a save! This is a known game issue. Let them sleep in for one day!

nexus is bloated by fallout modders so smapi might not shown you mods you need to update
several people had the same issues with that
but if you can't figure out best bet is to do a 50/50

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

hi, im having an issue where in my file the inventory doesnt open at all and it just kinda freezes my character until i release E i cant even exit the game normally i tried reversing the day to see if it fixed it ive got quite a few mods but it just happend randomly and i didnt even update any mods, i also cant progress to the next day either so basically i cant open my inventory at all
i found some people with a similar issue but they never said how to fix it
Apprently a lot of people are having the same problem like non of my mods are working as well like my recolor is all patchy and my UI isn't working either

Update everything, delete npc adventures and everything else red
Better Chests and Spacecore specifically need updating to fix that freezing issue

for context, a user's reported this for one of my mods (not currently installed for me, which is why i believe it's vanilla), and i'd just like a sanity check
I think that happens when zoom level and ui zoom doesn't match in vanilla in general, but I could be wrong
that could be a vanilla bug tbh, but best to check by removing all mods and seeing if it still happens
Hey all, my crops aren't dying in winter, and are actually continuing to grow. This happened in other seasons too, I just manually removed them with my pickaxe. Any idea what mod might be causing this? I'd like them to die between seasons like normal.

I'd do what Atra recommended and remove ALL mods and try on a straight vanilla, not even smapi loading and see what happens

i'm not running this through the smapi mod loader
and all of my smapi mods are my own - none of which modify tooltip elements
(or mods that come bundled with smapi)
If you truly want to know if its vanilla, best bet is not even with that is what we were suggesting
If you get it even with launching directly through the Stardew Valley.exe without Smapi OR any mods then yes I'd say its vanilla
and you could probably report it in #vanilla-tech-support

you have to go to the confid files and change the mine location from true to false
or false to true dpending on what you want

I dont think its the 3 mods that are a small bit behind, as they don't modify map tiles afaik. Plus, NPC Map Locations is disabled cause the host doesn't have it

The issue was in his house too but that was because of him having the tier 2 upgrade. The issue wasnt present until I also upgraded my house to that level, and i live in a cabin

Seems like you put Immersive Unique Children Talk as their own folder instead of putting it inside Unique Children Talk like the Installation guide tells you to do.
There should be a folder called "UniqueChildren Talk" within that "Unique Children Talk 2.6-9540-2-6-1713414197" folder. That's the one you need to replace.

Jazz I'm not a smartie, but my guess is since you're using Vortex there must be some sort of mod order, and it seems to be an issue with either Fashion Sense (unlikely) or "Stardew Valley Expanded" (much more likely) so just double check those, make sure they're up to date and such and try out a different mod order with SVE being the main thing you're moving around, I think SVE is probably the culprit because it modifies so much of the game.

So I think it is spacecore, it changes how the game saves so it more than likely is spacecore.
If you're able to (i'm unfamiliar with spacecore)
Back up your saves, and then if you can temporarily disable it, and then try running day 2 if you can.
oh boy, lots of mods being skipped already because of spacecore being disabled! there's also mods being disabled because json assets cant be loaded so that means i gotta go back to the previous version for that one specifically

welp, i ran straight to willy first thing in the morning reload and he was definitely frozen mid-walk so i guess the npc paths broke after i went to bed and before the game saved because i dont know how else this could have happened! time to sleep on it, it's almost midnight
From quickly looking at the log this might just be an issue with mods just loading in an incorrect order. Not much in the logs is indicating much is "wrong" with like loading things. Like SMAPI thinks the game is running fine, if your main issue are those tiles overlapping.
I would look at mod load order and specifically I'd point the finger as Earthy Interiors and Medieval Stables just because they haven't been updated for 1.6 yet, and those have textures that could override base game textures (I think)
If the NPCs are freezing during pathing, I wonder if there is something wrong with a map they are attempting to path to? Because you mentioned the Desert Festival, I would suggest disabling any mods that make changes to the bus stop or desert maps and seeing if the issue repeats.

The only mod manager to work for stardew is stardrop
You can either add a dependency to the manifest, or you rename the folder. They load alphabetically. Whatever loads last wins. The issue your facing is that Downtown zuzu hasn't been downloaded properly because it says that it's an 'empty folder'

You may have overrided the old version for 1.5 you'll need to delete the old version of mods in your mod folder instead of replacing in the future :)

The Downtown Zuzu and East Scarp errors are because versions 1.6 of DTZ and ES have different file structures and the Nyapu's DTZ and ES have not been updated to reflect that (you can see that they're WIP in the comments).
The portraits should still work though, besides the vendors!

Guys, any idea what mod or setting could cause me to get stuck in a bad location (the black tiles or just unreachable tiles) after events? This happens with many events. There are no error logs in SMAPI. I had to noclip and use lookup anything (for tile coordinate) to return to the original position after events.

hey there! i've just joined the group as i have no other answers!! i recently started a new save with smapi and expanded and its played fine a couple times but now i keep getting the black loading screen which wont load the game, it just freezes haha. hi! i'm using a custom map, map editor (on edited tiles) and like a duck to water. i was wondering if there's a way for me to edit the tiles/mods so that the ducks won't swim on the bridge tiles or the half land tiles but still have the ducks swim? they would never get in the water before ;w;

i tried to get married to alex (after i already married abigail and harvey through a mod) and then when i entered his house with a pendant in my hand it immediatelly gave it to him (after it tried to gave it to George while i wasnt even remotely close to either of them) and then after alex accepted the pendant i went into my farm house to sleep but when i clicked on the door, the game crashed
The logged events it's crashed after are when the game finished loading Alex's custom spouse room and a custom companion.

No, I did create one once though but removed it (had an idea to use it instead of a shed...)
The game uses that as a multiplayer check sometimes and might want the wedding ring crafted for 100% if you have a cabin, even if you never invited anyone else.

All of the fish that I'm catching is regular quality, even with a perfect catch. Smapi isnt listing any errors, and it was fine yesterday when I was playing. Anyone have any ideas? Im fishing at the night market submarine
You can only get it if you open the game in multiplayer, otherwise you MIGHT be able to use CJB to spawn it in (as this is definitely a base game problem) but I don't know how that works with recipes

It's also possible that just building the cabin again will bring the recipe back to the cart, but typically you can choose to continue a multiplayer save in single player, as long as you were the host

If i look at the log parser it looks like the SVE error is the root problem here? after that it only trows "An error occurred in the base update loop"

And frankly, if those two are missing, you shouldn't be playing anyway.
Can you give more details? an [FS] mod is usually fashion sense, but those don't apply to weapons, and deleting and saying it doesn't exist shouldn't be possible

So I decided to try downloading SMAPI today, and it seems like it downloaded directly to my desktop game icon. I'd like to be able to disable mods sometimes so I can play my old vanilla saves, is this still possible?
I figured it out! I had the added "Magic Workbench" thing for the mod "Better Crafting" which didn't give me any recipe that I could see but I figured maybe its craftable. Anyhow, as soon as I removed it and loaded up my game again I got the achievement! Thank you so much

get rid of SCA-SVE's wizard edit
So ... I installed this mod:

And even if it wasn't updated since the 1.6 update, the author says, it should work. And people post in the post section, that it works for them ... partially. I can not seem to get it to work. Smapi doesn't say anything about this mod (as in, it seems to load etc). So ... anybody got any ideas?

I don't see it happening, its a yellow just warn. Probably because the other parent is from multiplayer so your childs other parent shows up as /idofparent in the save intead of /spouse like it does for npc

It's especially important not to XNB mod in 1.6. Several XNBs were renamed or removed entirely
or, if the same, were completely revamped data wise. Swapping those out will cause immense breakage.
These are the only two options I get when trying to download SMAPI. How can I be able to separate my modded and non modded games?

You can still play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI. There's a few approaches:
- In your game folder, run
StardewValley.exedirectly. - Or if you're playing through Steam or GOG on a Windows device: clear your launch options, then select play from your game client. See the

Modsfolder to something else. Then launching the game will run SMAPI but with no mods loaded. - Or set up SMAPI as a custom game in Steam. See the

I think I'm still confused as I don't even have the option to add it to steam, it's adding it to my launcher or doing something custom. There's nothing for me to copy/paste like I've seen on other guides

With the recent changes to the bus stop map, any mods that add things to the BusStop should definitely be examined in case of issues! Stardew itself had an update that tries to fix the warps there, but it doesn't fix everything.

1. Install a supported version of the original MOD and check for startup errors.
2. Unzip "Nyapu's Portraits(~)" or "Nyapu's P(~)". Use the folder inside this instead of leaving it as is.
3. Overwrite the folder inside with the same name folder of the original MOD.
4. Launch StardewModing API and play

by default your path for SVE should be \Stardew Valley Expanded\[CP] Stardew Valley Expanded\assets\CharacterFiles\Portraits which is the same structure as in the replacement
so if you just put it in mods you should get asked to replace a bunch of files

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
Tldr: support for Android is basically non-existant
