Unfortunately you'll always get the Dusty error
the one downside of error handler in game is that it'll always retain your save's data for each character
It was about half an hour ago. SMAPI is throwing warnings about a mod I uninstalled, and I have some warnings about some AT packs. And Smart Building is throwings reds but only when I use it and it's not affecting performance.

To fix a mod throwing warnings? Absolutely.

But yeah, install Dusty, kill him with the above command, save, then quit and remove the mod
When two mods edit the same dialogue or images, whichever edit is applied last "wins" and is the one you see in the game.
If the mods don't set edit priorities (which most don't), that order is mainly determined by the order the mods were loaded by SMAPI. You can change that mod load order to influence the edit order.

unless you're using an incredibly old dusty mod, it doesn't use its own tilesheets

Alright, so have everyone download noclip mode, the mod I linked before. I know it sounds like a cop out, but a lot of tilesheets changed in 1.6 and so you might want to all decide on a different cellar mod. (Noclip Mode just so you don't get trapped experimenting.)

Game won‘t launch, uninstall, verify files or anything when I updated smapi

Only other thing I can think of is uninstalling stardew and deleting the folder where it was installed, then reinstalling stardew and smapi

SMAPI checks for a version bug which only affects the compatibility branch, but that bug was fixed in 1.6. We'll need to update the GameScanner to use a new approach to detect the compatibility branch.

Ayako I can't make this clearer: If the log parser is telling us 3.14.7, then you didn't manage the installer and therefore a log wouldn't work

and you have multiple mods doing the same thing, namely radius showing and ui info suite 2 and tree transplant and one other are outdated and wont load

Ah crap. Ok so anyone else had an issue with space core?
I added a mine mod to my game (just added coal ore cause screw the process that you need to go through to get coal) and my smapi just threw a absolute tantrum and space core somehow got.. outdated? Deleted? Honestly not sure. But my game was doing fine till this, then I loaded it a few minutes ago (about 10) and my save was taking 5 minutes to load.
Not the end of the world, but has anyone else had problems with space core, or was this an isolated incident.
It's fixed now, just curious

Hi, I've been struggling with Stardew mods for hours. Basically, the SMAPI mod isn't registering my mods that I have in my folders. I can open SMAPI to the game but none of the mods are there. Not really sure what's up then, but if you move your mods into that other folder, everything should work fine

Hi all. Noob here obviously.. trying so hard to get this automate/better chests mod working right.
I’ve selected a chest and selected the categories tab(which is given with the better chests mod).. and select mayonnaise(as I only want mayo going into the chest). Everything else is greyed out. But then all the eggs go into the chest once I connect the chest to my auto grabber. Eggs are greyed out so why are they going in to it?? Am I missing a step?

catagories dont prevent interaction with a chest it just hides the product for personal searching

I have the latest FTM installed but I can't seem to replace different farm maps. For example, i tried replacing hilltop with lnh's summit farm but when the (new) game is loaded, it's still the vanilla hilltop. Is anyone else having the same issue?
p sure you would have to just manually put them in. i have multiple chests for this reason. if i remember correctly

Hi, so my game is lagging to the point where it is not unplayable. It wont start up its just gets about 1fps at the start of the day when opening the game. even the sound is lagging at 1fps. I have 556 mods according to smapi but ive had as much at almost 900 in 1.5 and didnt have this issue. Ive tried taking some mods that ive recently installed out but the same thing persists. I have no idea why its lagging like this or whats causing it. ive played with all of them installed before the only one i havent is mount vapius and cape stardew
I understand you may have done this before but with 1.6 out, the game itself is updated, the expansions updated and even prior to 1.6 all three together caused this issue
it may have worked for you before but it's clearly bogging you down now
I'd highly recommend trying to take one out
lets see i will take them all out and start a new save
That's truly my recommendation. If you are still lagging then we can take a closer look but I've seen people have this issue in 1.5 too when trying to run those
expansions are a bit different then 300 AT packs etc
I ran the three big content packs plus more on my mac just fine before, and now im adding more to my steam deck
But ill remove a big one or two if its too mucn lol

I didn't configure it well so there was a conflict where two mods both are designed to replace one vanilla map
the chest? you have to manually put the mayo into a chest for mayo. deluxe grabber chest should be seperate from the machines chest

I uninstalled smapi then the game itself, then reinstalled the game, opened it once without smapi, then installed smapi and ran it, got the error for the console commands and save backup, and then put in the new content patcher from nexus
This is actually pretty easy to fix in theory though, basically opening it up in asesprite to see the different fence piece color options and fixing the assets

Yeah, the texture files are perfectly normal in the actual folder, so this is a tile editing issue crossing wires, and not the mod itself.

My recommendation is manual deletion of smapi-internal and rolling back to version 4.0.3 after rebooting your computer. You can roll back by going to the very bottom of the nexus download page and clicking version 4.0.3. second to last download at the bottom

(It acts as a mail flag, I believe? Sorta like most of the others that 'show' you the location of a spot you can till up. The item doesn't exist until the note triggers it.)

I have removed Seasonal Fences and also tried removing some of my other AT and CP packs from my mods folder but I can't find anything conflicting. Looking at the textures that are showing with the paint bucket in game it looks like it isn't pulling the gate textures at all but some sort of scrambled fence texture.

@languid trout I think I've figured out the circumstances at least, but not why. Putting the gate on the fence results in scrambled textures. Putting the gate in a gap in the fence gives the right appearance.
I...have an inkling as to what's going on, but I need to sleep on it. I don't recommend having any cp mods for your fences for now. That's certainly inconvenient, but still salvageable as is rn

But I want automate to only push through certain items.. IE.. I dont want it pushing through eggs to my mini-shipping bin.. I only want mayo to get in there. But automate pushes through all eggs even while mayo is being made in the middle of the assembly line.
That's just how automate is designed.
Shipping bins accept anything no restrictions.

Don't attach automate lines to your shipping bins if you don't want to auto-ship stuff.

most likely. adding them back progressively is a good idea then testing. you can even do this by batches by noting which batch caused it then you can figure out 100% which mod is causing it sooner than a literal 1 by 1

theres a list of a few that have been superceded or are vanilla features, smapi.io has a list of which mods are/arent. also some mods on that list have 1.6 versions with better implementation under a different name. i dont want to clog up the chat too much with non-support messages

Can you navigate to the actual mod folders and check that they aren't actually empty? Vortex has a bad habit of eating files.
vortex is hungry just like its namesake
it will consume your files and then leave nearly 2k or so symlinks if your vortex install gets messed up

or in my case... 56 thousand symlinks. and in case you didnt know, purging doesnt help if your install gets borked
We generally don't advise Vortex mod manager for Stardew Valley modding. Its behavior makes it difficult to troubleshoot problems.

ah. with 1.6 it's gonna be a tiny bit trickier than just updating everything since some frameworks are deprecated
and some mods may have had their features obsoleted
the only way to auto-update is to be using a mod manager (preferably stardrop) and have a nexus premium axxount so it can actually auto-update
I spy at least three in that list that are likely obsoleted
so i must manually update them all ? 🥲 what a drag
otherwise you're unfortunately stuck in manual update hell 
smartest way to go about it would probably be making a list of all the non-framework mods you have and then seeing if they've been updated or have 1.6 alternatives
this literally happened btw. vortex was managing both sdv skyrim oblivion and subnautica/below zero
so i use stardrop now

if you have recolors, they're very very likely broken/unusable bc quite a lot of maps have been tweaked
Content Patcher's newest version will attempt to automigrate the CP mods, so that may help in the interim?
some of the more popular recolors have had reshade presets made to mimic them + someone made an unofficial starblue valley update
Except non-updated recolors will show the new vanilla tiles, yep.

i need help w android modding: i followed the videos of putting mods on android, but only the virtual keyboard and console ones are loading. i also placed them on the correct folders. i'm on android 12 if that helps T^T

Android SMAPI does not currently work for versions of SDV past 1.5.6.39. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible. It is not possible to downgrade to .39 through legal means so do not ask how to do this.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
Producer Framework Mod is no longer needed in 1.6, yes?
There are mods that still use it.
Content Patcher doesn't provide all the same functionality.

ahhh, okay. also, trying to download Downtown Zuzu, one of the required mods (Bus Locations Unofficial 1.6 Fix) shows it's being under review since 3/28.. do i need to not download Zuzu til that ones back up?

regarding the vibrant pastoral recolor, is this already set in the games configuration setting or do u just have to tweak the files yourself?
that and moddb. you can use smapi.io/mods to check specific mods for updates that are hosted elsewhere too

it has defaults that it sets when the game is launched with the mod for the first time. it should work with the generic mod config menu mod so that it's possible to configure in-game too

Hi, I'm new to the server. I played SDV once before. For the 2nd time, I thought I'd try using mods. I have zero experience with programming, but I thought it wouldn't be too complicated. One of the mods I'm trying to use is Portraiture. When I read the description on Nexusmods, it seemed very simple and straightforward. You download the thing, unzip it, put it in the SDV mods folder, give custom portraits PNG the right names and put them in the portrait folder, then, in the game, press "P / I / O" to switch the portraits. ... But for some reasons, it doesn't work. When I press "P", nothing happens. I've tried to look on the internet for the answer, but could only find 2 ~ 3 years old forum threads that didn't help me. Also, when I reread the whole Portraiture description page on Nexusmods, I realised there are thing I don't understand. For example, what does HDP mean (I first guessed it was High Definiton Portraits, but then why do they talk about HDP needing to be "installed"?), what's a pack (at first I thought it was a set of downloadable portraits which comes with their own manifest.json, so there's no need for Portraiture's manifest.json, which is why pack folders must be placed in the "Mods" folder, and not in "Mods/Portraiture/Portraits" folder... But maybe I'm complete wrong), I'm not even sure what a manifest.json or config.json are, and what on earth is a dependency, sideloading, file-structure, ...?
I thought, since I'm not using a pack, I simply had to put appropriate PNG files in the "Portraits" folder, and everything would work.
I looked at how to make the PNG files properly (every portrait is 256x256, with 2 portraits wide, so every PNG files are all 512 wide, they also all have the correct names, for example "Abigail.png", and I even made sure the diffrent expressions are placed in the correct order for the character to show the right expressions at the right time, ...)
But so far all that hard work was for nothing. Can someone please help.

Hey I need help with a mod that's supposedly fixes hairstyles. I want ALL the hats to be set to "false",, but I get red all over my Smapi file when I change everything in the config file. And then it doesn't work. It's all up to date I believe. Smapi as well as the hat mod. I can send my Smapi log if need be.

if the problem is that the event can't progress because the character can't move, then no-clip mode mod should let it progress at least

my autofeeder doesn't seem to be working. i do have the cuter coops and better barns mod, and a few other mostly qol mods, but i cant imagine why any of those would break the autofeeder. anyone got any idea?

Help! My modded stardew is running at a stuttery 15-30fps since switching to the beta legacy stardew branch 1.5.6. No change in windowed/borderless/full screen or resolution changes. I’m on steam deck and issue is same docked or handheld. Never happened before switching to the legacy branch can’t figure it out 😦 and no I can’t switch to 1.6 on account of my 250+ mods…
If you have performance issues in modded it's more likely than not it's a mod doing something janky

I found out that HDP refers to another Portrait editing mod (A mod which last update is older than Protraiture and which "github documentation" leads to a 404 not found page...)

stardrop is a mod manager that it was made for stardew and vortex is a general one mostly from nexus

I'm playing on the legacy stardew valley version 1.5.6 on Steam with SMAPI and the Archipelago Mod, after pausing for a brief period after coming back I've got a bug that is constantly causing every item I pick up, to do the special "Item Received" animation and pause the game, from crops, to forage, to items out of chestss, to wood from trees. I don't know how to fix it and it's really annoying please help.

So I have SVE, Ridgeside, and East Scarp. I want to add more expansions to my game. Will I have compatibility issues if I download Downtown ZuZu, Mt. Vapius, Luna Astray, Cape Stardew, and Cindersnap Circle?
try installing downtown zuzu first .. if there's no errors then add mt. vapius next and so on
None of those touch each other's area so there shouldn't be compatibility problems. But to be sure, you can always read each's mod page because they'd usually list things they're not compatible with.

You have to rid of red blocks of the map for it to be safely edited, it will cry about invalid tilegid
