brb, gonna download Lucikiel and figure out how he triggers
I have SVE, RSV and East Scarp and want to use Nyapu's portraits but can't get them to work for some reason. I installed all of the files for each mod and put them in the mods folder but I can't get them to work. if I keep the file for the vanilla characters, then I get the portraits for them but none of the other characters. if I delete the vanilla portraits, the portraits don't work for any of the characters either. has anyone had a similar problem/how should I fix it?
Gonna need you to load into your file and give me a new log from you having done that.
The trigger for Lucikiel is highly straightforward, so I don't know how it's not working tbh

i did that actually bc the solution the PyTK author suggested is to change all EditImage into Load, and it did work to the non-SVE portraits
The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
Second. That worked for the non-SVE ones because no one loads those
You do NOT do that to the SVE ones, where you have to load originally so that the portraits are loaded into the game (e.g. from SVE itself)
so Lunakatt's then double loads and breaks everything
I'm not gonna lie, your log concerns and confuses me. For some reason, it's only loading Data/Events/Farmhouse for all mods, when it should always be editing Data/Events/<location> no matter what game location you're in.
Especially SVE, mind. SVE should be loading bunches of new ones.

Some users have noted that Lucikiel's introduction trigger and his four heart event (in the smithy) may not work if the "Looking for Love" (LFL) mod is installed. I am currently looking into it, but it has been reported that temporarily removing "Looking for Love" will allow you to see these events again (introduction trigger and smithy 4 heart). You can LFL back to your game safely after viewing these events and saving your game until I can find a proper solution.

Hey, Im wondering if someone can please help me. I download the DGA version of all the PPJA mods (New game, new mod installs etc) and it was working but now Im getting smapi warnings.
I noticed as I got a letter from leah that was without the item attached (honeysuckle) and then realised It wouldnt spawn in from the itemspawner (its not even on the list) then I noticed the errors. Im not sure if it's an issues with the mod itself or if something i've downloaded since is conflicting but I have no idea!
I'd usually check the comments / bugs but their all turned off on nexus

You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

anyone have this problem where the game audio sounds really strange? like at times it sounds really crunchy and the lower frequencies sound like they're boosted
i don't have any EQ set on my headphones or audio so idk whats happening, and its only affecting modded stardew
So, it's not crunchy sounds on vanilla stardew or any other games or media?

could be a SAAT thing, I did switch PCs and copy-pasted a huge list of mods over that were initially managed by stardrop

those were mods i deleted off stardrop but it didn't delete the entire folder for some reason
i just reinstalled SAAT and cleared out the empty mods btw, nothing changed
(Apologies for the delay, I'm in public, and the connection is spotty. I didn't see any errors in the trace itself, unfortunately. And you do have an audio output as far as the game is concerned-the only thing I actually saw in regards to potential audio errors was custom music turning itself on at the start.)

I believe it has to do with Immersive Professions, but I can't find the mod anymore on Nexus and wanna know if it's fixable or just better left alone. (Was it removed?)

I can't seem to launch ridgeside properly
[SMAPI] - Ridgeside Village (Content Patcher component) 2.5.3 because it requires mods which aren't installed (Rafseazz.RSVFTM, Rafseazz.RSVJA, Rafseazz.RSVMFM, Rafseazz.RSVSAAT, Rafseazz.RSVSTF).
That looks like you're missing all the folders in RSV except the Content Patcher portion

right off the bat I don't think your friend installed SMAPI as there would be an error log folder also their mods folder is lowercase which means they made it themself
the steam stardew game folder
So when they installed smapi they had to move it from where nexus downloaded it into their steam folder
yeah have them open the smapi installer folder and run install on windoes.bat
they will also need to move all of their mods into the new 'Mods' folder smapi makes

Also I heard that vortex dosent pair well with Stardew mods but I alr downloaded everything on vortex. If I delete vortex (all my mods are still in the mods folder for the game) and ran my game will it cause any issues?

You have three mods that edit the original WizardHouse - SVE, SKE, and Deep Woods. SVE loads first, SKE and DeepWoods edit afterwards, and I bet that whatever is supposed to be behind that door belongs to SKE or DeepWoods and no longer exists, hence the null ref exception. Try disabling SKE and see if a) the door still appears, and if so b) does the error persist? If so, then try disabling DeepWoods.
I shall yeet Deepwoods and get back to you - I had assumed (foolishly) it didn't affect anything.
Out of curiosity, how did you determine that Deepwoods edits the Wizardhouse? So I don't need to ask in the future.

If you are having issues with all of your shoes turning your Stardew character's boots red, your boots internal data has corrupted. Thankfully, this is mostly a benign problem, and can be fixed by spawning new boots and throwing away the old ones. To spawn new boots, type debug fin <boots> in your console, replacing <boots> with the exact name of your boots without spaces (e.g. Space Boots become spaceboots).
Or...debug them in as noted above. 😄

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

Unfortunately, MonoGame has a bug which affects random computers, not allowing them to launch Stardew. This bugs randomly targets computers, regardless of your operating system or hardware and is out of ConcernedApe's control. There is currently no known fix. thats a reshade (different from a recolor), so the installation process will be different from a regular stardew mod. read the nexus page of the mod for installation instructions

Well, when I was opening up SMAPI, I got an (I guess I'll call it this for now) "error code chain", that prevented SMAPI from opening up at all, all due to a major error that I don't even understand. I did reboot my laptop earlier due to the fact I had a blank screen as per usual when opening it up, which this was all before I opened up SMAPI. I know for a fact SMAPI, the last time I used it (which was last night), was closed out by me before closing up my laptop for the night. I've attached the error code in a .txt file on this message.
Can you upload your SMAPI log to https://smapi.io/log (see instructions on that page) and share the link here? Even if your game doesn't show any errors, logs are useful, and often necessary, for troubleshooting.
That said. What's your GPU?
That error implies you have a very old or very integrated GPU
and would require you to use the legacy version, which doesn't work with mods.

Your GPU is having errors right now. When you figure out whatever is going wrong with it, you'll be able to resume modded play. But until then, you won't be able to play modded.
Hi guys! Sorry for the ping since I'm looking at how to submit bug reports in your read-me
Basically I play with a lot of expansions (ridgeside, RRRR, sve, east scarp and related npcs, AGE and margo) and i had responsecore and unique courtship responses by MissCoriel (I'm unsure if I should ping them but lmk if I should) alongside the mods. For a while a dialog box would open when I gave birthday gifts, pendants or bouquets. I thought this was normal but a bit annoying, so I tried testing by removing both mods. When I went in-game, things proceed as normal but now when I give birthday gifts to any NPC from any mod, an infinite looping dialog box will open with a message that says 'happy birthday' and a coin icon. I'm pinging since this showed up on the log and I'm unsure if the error is coming from the Combat Module of MARGO or UCR. I provided my log, too, in case something else is possibly interacting with both mods. With responsecore/ucr the dialogue boxes break immersion and I don't think they're intended to be part of the mod but I read they were fail-safes in the comments, but without those mods I cannot give birthday gifts, pendants or bouquets at all.
Second up, we had a long discussion of why that happens the other day thanks to Jello, but short version is as long as you gift someone not vanilla or SVE on their birthday with RRRR + those courtship mods, it will cause an error.
(And is why I suggested they swap to CFD for those keys.)
Your best bet is to just disable UCR, but that's up to you.

If I reboot the Steam Deck, the game will work again... once. Then I get back into the cycle of it crashing until I reboot again. I have no crash log, only SMAPI-latest.txt, which doesn't capture the text I see in the SMAPI load before it crashes. I have the same mods (with same versions) on my Windows PC and never had issues there.

This is weird. Did some more testing. Got out of SteamOS and into the Linux desktop. Ran SV once, it launched. Quit, relaunched and it crashed as usual. Relaunched again, crashed as usual. Then realized "hey! I can screenshot it and get the error!" and then realized "HEY! I should quickly resize the SMAPI window to full screen to get everything!". But now every launch attempt is launching successfully.

If I make a blank map for a spouse room for one of the npcs, do you think that would allow me to effectively have one spouse room? Like the game would just load a blank map and call it a day?
My understanding is that Custom Spouse Rooms is not a requirement for Free Love to work. The default is that you get one spouse room. If you marry/roommate multiple people, the newest one added will be the spouse room shown.
Loading a blank map wouldn't be a fix, since Leo's schedule and pathing would remain and he would just hang out in the abyss.
Custom Spouse rooms has options in its configuration, iirc?
Thanks for the reply. I use Custom Spouse Rooms for changing the location of the spouse room, so I can't get rid of it. As for configurations, I looked, but I didn't see anything relevant, but I could be wrong. And yeah, I totally forgot about pathing. I've only ever made one map before, a basic farmhouse map. Is there a way for me to edit his pathing so he just... stays outside the spouse room... or hangs out in the middle of the house idk... if I change the coordinates of the blank map will he act like his spouse room is somewhere in the visible map maybe?
That's going to be more of a #making-mods-general question, but I will tell you that NPC pathing is very fragile, and iirc, spouse/roommate pathing & schedules are hardcoded, so you'd likely need a C# mod just for that.

Fashion Sense (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/9969) is a framework which allows modders to create accessories, hairstyles, hats, shirts, pants and shoes that are larger than the default vanilla dimensions. It also includes special conditions for animation, allowing for dynamic movement (such as a hairstyle that animates differently while walking or running). Additionally, Fashion Sense supports the saving and loading of custom outfits.
For Mod Users: To use Fashion Sense, you will need to install the main mod as well as content packs for the clothing/accessories you want. Content packs can be found on the same page as the main mod (linked above) - expand the "Requirements" section and look through the "Mods requiring this file".

hey guys, i'm mixing some content patcher mods. all of them have individual configs for each item except for one. to get only the stuff set to "false" in other mods to be replaced by this one, does it make any difference where in the mods folder it is located?
Also, can't use Fashion sense because the mods I use do not support it

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. i picked individual sprites i liked of each mod and edited some of them, but i'm keeping them in their original folders
most of them let me just keep the ones i want, but peachy objects doesn't have individual true/false statements
Anywho. Simplest option is just to make everything have Peachy Objects as a dependency in their manifest, as loadorder command states
That way, each of them apply after peachy objects
Peachy Objects then applies first, and then anything the other mods edit work afterwards.

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

You can have an anthro farmer with a bunch of Fashion Sense gear!
But if you want an anthro farmer, that requires alteration of the farmer base.
And Fashion Sense doesn't do that.

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
For no shoes, i have no idea
i did downgrade so its perfect now, the shoes are just odd. if the pants dont replace the default shoes they tend to just disappear to the other player

Hello, i have trouble with my modded file. Whenever I enter a new area after 5pm after the 2nd day, the game fails to load and stalls til crash. Smapi doesnt show which mod is failing. I verified my game on steam too.

Is there a way to have two "modpacks" that I can easily switch between? I want to make a new "creative mode" save, but I don't want to have to move a bunch of mods around to swap between it and my default save.

I think I figured it out but it's the hot spring farm cave one and the oasis greenhouse one. I was worried because both add a 'basement' feature to the cave on the farm but I think it should be fine right ??

So. Map Editor Extended is causing me to crash when I leave Pierre's Shop after trying to add a hallway to reduce congestion.
Even after removing the hallway, it crashed.
Disabling the mod fixes the crash, but then I lose my map edits to fix some really ugly clipping.
