i cant tell if its my computer or stardew but every couple seconds its freezing for a split second, it wasn't doing that a couple minutes ago....
Does this still occur outside of the creation screen? Like when you start a game does it still persist?
Depends on how many mods you installed, the hiccup might come from too many mods or your pc need some rest
i've got 269 mods but it wasn't doing this a couple hours ago,,
sometime you need to restart the game. it happens occasionally if you play long enough in a single session

Hi, I need help with a hopefully simple issue. I used to play with mods on a save and then I removed the mods. This caused my quest journal to keep one of the modded quests and it's just there now lol

General approach: Reinstall the mod, finish or delete the quest, uninstall the mod again. If that doesn’t work: Wait for someone smarter than me to come up with a solution.

Why is it that every time i add expanded it will always take lake 2 hours ish time to load into the game? Granted i have like 500+ mods, i removed some to make sure my game doesn't lag too much. But it always takes like a long time whenever i add expanded

Actually found the reason, fastload for some reason makes my game load so slow that it doesn't get past shop tile framework. It didn't before lol. Now i just use spritemaster

I recently added a couple more mods to my modded stardew valley (theres 70~ mods in it) but now the mailbox is broken. i get the same mail everytime i open the box. did anyone had this same bug?

This is a rather specific issue, but me and my brother had some... let's just say complications during local multiplayer when it comes to gifting things. This is from a past playthrough, so I'm not sure what I could provide to help identify the cause.
For some reason when my brother gifted things to villagers it would count towards my relationships. He was very focussed on the gift-giving, so I'm very sure that that's not supposed to happen.

SDV freshly installed and updated with Grandpa's Farm Exp and several mods
Got it to load last night, but now it's taking excessively long to load. SMAPI screen takes a solid 10min, initial load takes about 5, loading a save takes 15-20 and then crashes without ever reaching the game.
Got an error message that said "Mod API has crashed"
Help?

It doesn't seem like there's anything in here that should be so slow. You can maybe try out one of the optimization mods. I've used SpriteMaster before, and there's another one I haven't used yet called FastLoad. Maybe someone else can vouch for that one.

Does anyone still have MARGO installed? I got it from the GITHUB because I wanted to play it tonight but I got this error. Can't seem to find the file anywhere & was wondering if someone could send me theirs as a temporary solution until i get a response to the support ticket i put on the GITHUB.

I started a new game since all my saves got nuked and while I can successfully start a new game, I can't seem to load the save

yes. i hear for some, touching the computer causes the crash (i have not experienced this, but i've never had load times that long). their advice is usually "click load, go have lunch"

Hey! So I'm having some troubles with a modpack I put together. I tested each mod out in bactches and checked my SMAPI logs frequently and see no errors within the log other than duplicate errors. The issue is I have launched my game half a dozen times, loaded a save where I tested all mods to ensure they worked, and for some reason its now not letting me load in. I'll launch it, see my farmer in bed/loading in, and than it'll black screen and I can't click nor do anything to exit the program without doing a full restart. Attached is the SMAPI Log, but I'm stumped on whats wrong and would appreciate any help figuring out what's going on.

so firstly you are using pytk which is a stinky mod that causes performance problems.
secondly you have both the mega pack for wildflour and the individual mods that are in the mega pack. you don't need both.

Yeah I tried removing PYTK but there are some mods that require that still and I can't use them without it. As for the wildflour stuff I'll go and take a look!

the mods you are using that require it probably have versions that don't need pytk.

removing pytk is the best thing for you to do even if it tempory loses you one or two mods whilst you search for the ones that don't require pytk.
also if it says it is need for a framework mod like tmxl to work then it is probably a false positive and can be removed from the manifest.
Cool! Couldn't find replacements so I just removed the three mods that wouldn't work without it. It seems to be working for now. Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

@stray spire hi, i'm downloading MARGO and i'm a bit new to modding. the compat file has some files which can be used in other mods such as stardew valley expanded. the readme note says to replace SVE's FTM folder with the included one, does that mean i move over the included one and just delete the one in the SVE file? does this go for all mods? and will this affect any savefiles?

idk if it changes anything but I was trying to get the master angler achievment and when I collected all the base game fish I realized it also requires the sdv expanded fish so I wanted to swich to base game to get it but yeah :')

No, do not delete the original mod. In this case just copy and paste over it and overwrite. The compat files don't include the manifest, so if you delete everything first then they just won't work.
What do you mean with overwrite? Do I just put the file into the SVE file?

I was tired of vanilla Stardew so I decided to install mods on the game
I'm playing on mobile and I have V1.5.6.36
I installed lastest version of SMAPI (3.18.3.3)
I opened it and it seems I can't use the app
Because I need V1.5.6.39 or higher
I want to download the lastest update but I'm uncertain whether the app supports it or not
Does the app work for 1.5.6.52?

android smapi "works" only on 1.5.6.39 at the moment, if your only option to update is .52 it won't work whether you update or not

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).

That'd be your more grass mod
it's not a mod to make grass more plentiful, it's a framework to add more grass options
it overrides all other grass stuff, so without anything for it, it will just give you vanilla grass

Hi! I'm trying to figure out how to read my smapi log to see what is causing my scarecrow to be a junimo statue and my deluxe to be invisible. Something is interfering with my Disney princess scarecrow mod and I cannot figure it out. I have my latest smapi log pulled up, just no clue what I'm looking for

you can disable `AlternativeCraftables` in SVE, or set a false dependency if you want to keep all changes but the scarecrows
you need to set a false dependency for Overgrown Fairy Craftables, there is no config whatsoever

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. that is all the log says unfortunately, theres no smapi-crash txt .. which is why ive been stumped
stardew launches fine without smapi, but if i run it with smapi it does what it says in the log and then the game doesnt launch/stops running

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

sadly there's nothing you can do aside from editing/colour correcting A Toned Down Stardew Valley yourself
alternatively, use another interior mod
the colours for the farmhouse_tilesheet are different from the towninterior as well; these tiles aren't edited at all

as long as NoFarmhouseFurniture is set to false it will overlay the entire tilesheet, if you set it to true or the interior to anything but standard you get the old results

ahh,, the issue is i took out the wizards folders from the seasonal portraits and stuff so i could see the harvest goddess (from ran's harvest goddess)

most likely, yes. There's probably a toggle to disable the portraits rather than delete them.
ill add them back, but i looked in the configs for talkohlooey's seasonal portraits and the config had nothing to disable them

got it, tho regarding elliots, i also have a mod that replaces how he looks and i turned him off and he still had talkohlooeys look so i too removed his portraits/sprites, i've yet to check if he changed but im not sure why that didn't work (as the elliot mod already says to disable the slightly cuter seasonal part for elliot)
Yeah so here's the thing
you can't just delete the images with stuff like HD Portraits
It's far better to delete the code applying them.
The disabling in Seasonal Cute works as a user-facing alternative, but in the future when doing stuff like this, never delete the images, that's just waiting for what happened in your log to happen

hi, I'm using the Help Wanted mod but it's not showing up in the game, it used to work fine on my own farm, I've been playing with a friend recently and it works there just fine, but when I came back to my farm it's not showing up, smapi is not showing any errors, the mod is enabled in the config, maybe I missed something? idk

i have an inactive mod but the quest i previously accepted never disappeared and it has a 96 day timer on it, wondering if i can delete it in the script somehow because i cant delete it through CJB cheats menu (it looks something like this in my journal and it takes up the whole screen so i cant see my other quests)
this is where it is in the file i dont know where it starts and ends so im too scared to delete it entirely, trying to look for a duration so i can edit it to 1 day or something so i can just finish the day and have it disappear
this might also be it, if someone who understands what theyre reading knows how to change the duration of the quest so i can get it over with i would appreciate it 🙏

not sure if i ask this here or in technical support but how do i stop my game from stuttering? a day ago it was fine, no lag nothing and when today i went to go and open the game it was taking longer than usual to open and it was stuttering(?) where it would load for a little bit (after the concerned ape intro) and then freeze and it would keep doing this as i'd try and load into my save

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

I need help with my SMAPI. Yesterday I was downloading mods and everything was normal in the early hours of the morning, however, after a while the game would no longer open even though the mods were OK. I updated SMAPI as the program had asked me to update to the latest version. I tried to open it again, but it stays endlessly with a message written "launching mods" and "Mods loaded", however, the game stays infinitely on that screen, not letting me start the game. I tried looking on reddit but nothing worked for me, and I don't know what to do. I tried to uninstall SMAPI and run the game without it, but it keeps giving an error saying that the file is missing, so not even removing SMAPI can I use my game anymore, and I don't know what to do. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

the game's audio is crackling and stuttering constantly to an unplayable degree. it does not seem to be a performance issue as my task manager performance stats are nothing out of the ordinary, and everything else in stardew is normal. i looked it up online and some people had similar issues, recommending to launch the game in beta 32-bit compatibility mode even if my system is 64-bit. this weirdly did solve the issue, but brought up new ones as well.
the modded game will no longer launch. attempting to do so causes command prompt to open for a moment, but it then closes and nothing happens. launching the unmodded stardew .exe file from file explorer opens the game as normal, but doing the same for the modding api does not open the game. i would love if anyone could help me :(
I managed to clean everything from SMAPI, my stardew is opening slowly but at least it works. I tried to download SMAPI now but the game is not opening through SMAPI, it is opening in the default configuration, how can I solve this?

I can’t get the ghost townspeople anymore. Bodies show up fine. I had the ghost bodies before the latest update. Even edited the config file but no dice…I have the Halloween Feelings mod running too but that only affects animals and critters to my knowledge (both categories I’ve set to false in ghost town config). can confirm starting a new save does not restore ghosts either so least I don’t have to restart my original save all over again.

Do you want to play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI? Keep in mind that you cannot play vanilla on a previously modded save. Please use separate saves for playing vanilla vs modded Stardew! That said, there are a few ways this can be achieved:

how do i disable enemy speed randomization in MARGO? it doesn't seem to say anything about it and is not in any configs
in the generic mod config menu, open up Modular Gameplay and go into the combat mod.
about 2/3rds down, there's a section called "Monsters"
The option you're looking for is called "Varied Encounters"
if unchecked, it will make monster stats standard. If checked, it will modify ALL stats for monsters randomly, based somewhat on your daily luck. This includes speed.
i like that, just not the randomized speed
options as they stand, it's all or nothing unless you go recode stuff.

help i had to reinstall my portrait mod and it made the harvest goddess look like the wizard again but its turned off in seasonal outfits
and i know that if i take it out of the folder completely it'll make my game go crazy but i really just wanna see the harvest goddess....
it seemed to work fine for elliot (i gotta check again) but why does it keep doing this for the wizard?

nono it was fine and then all of a sudden a file was gone from the folder (the wizard how ironic) so because it was constantly doing that error, i simply remembered that people in the past here told me it's if something is missed in one of the files so i just. reinstalled it instead of asking help here once more
since it was an issue i kept going through and found a solution for up until now
from time to time i check smapi (the thing that appears before stardew launches) and it was all red, unfortunately i dont have the log for it only my current one now

Hey guys so I'm attempting to make a mod for me and my friends but I can't seem to get her house (or tent as I haven't made her a proper house) to show up in the game. I assume it's actually loading (because I don't get any loading error messages) in but stardew loads in the original map before it looks at the one in my modpack. Is there a way I can change the order or something like that? Or am I just completely wrong and it doesnt load no matter what😂

hi, can anyone help me? I downloaded a haley yandere mod and for some reason, it randomly makes it so Haley doesn't have any dialogue that day. I open the game in vanilla (same day) and she has dialogue. I go back to the modded (same day) and she has the correct modded dialogue. does anybody have suggestions for what i can do?

Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/Greenhouse' asset (Immersive Farm 2 Remastered and rikai's Seasonal Overgrown Greenhouse). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.

Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).
