so not necessarily related (and the cause of the crash isn't obvious)
eh i mean those npc adventures errors could be related to save anywhere of course, but not necessarily to the crash

the log just cuts off after normal messages so it's difficult to say what caused the crash
Ah yeah my console just freeze and stop working after I finish trigger an event in east scrap and walk around a bit and crash

I got save anywhere cause the crash, it was hassle to do the whole day again so I got save anywhere to save proress if the crash happens, some how it got wrost
Force to close through task manager can't even close the game

ok so, it looks like something save anywhere will do, have npcs not in the state they are supposed to at some event. and even if it isn't the reason, remove save anywhere, it is currently broken in general

I think this could be the reason why it cause the crash, my game froze for couple mins while the console spawn a bunch of this msg
it isn't the reason for the crash, it isn't really an error, just something thet happens with FTM after saving with save anywhere. the freezing is probably it. again, my advice is to remove save anywhere and to see if it happens again

my advice with modding is to start slow
no worries! enjoy your first modded playthrough
to only get a couple at a time because jumping all in with like 20+ mods can be overwhelming

that's a problem with the farm map mod probably; deleting the file spring_outdoorsTileSheet.png from the Assets folder in the mod may fix it

you need to have Error Handler at the very least. then you need to save the game (go to bed). THEN you can remove it

Hi, me and my siblings were running a mp server and we were able to connect via Lan to play. I just installed smapi to try some mods and we are no longer able to connect through Lan. Is there anyway to fix this?

Ahh ok. The reason this is an issue is when we connect through the code we get random disconnects
Only playing thru Lan we can play for ours without a disconnect
So I wanted to play with mods, got everything set up. But I can't create a new save. Whenever I try, it'll just hang on the creation screen forever after I tell it to create. If I don't skip the into, the intro will play fine right up until after the letter is read, where I will be stuck on an infinite loading screen.

save creation can take quite a bit. be sure not to click on anything while it's happening, it can stop the process (the log stops after few minutes from game start, so it's probably what happened)
especially if you play with East Scarp, Ridgeside and SVE

I can't install smapi to windows
I did it on my computer like a few days ago, but now I got a laptop so I wanted to recreate the mods on here too
I downloaded smapi but when i go to install it to windows, it says i need an app to download it, then when it looks for said app, it says it doesnt exist
are there certain devices smapi isnt compatible with? or can i fix this

while you are in the installer folder:
click on the explorer's address bar, type cmd and hit enter, it will open a command window, there type "install on Windows.bat"

is the only way to test duplicate key items to just remove ja mods and see which one it is? ive searched the key number and every single item popping up in the traveling merchant today and there's no duplicates in my files
i think thats a DGA thing, not JA. but yes, i think youd have to do what you just described
it should ask to unzip or run if it was zipped (at least win 10 does so)
Just saying because Windows knows how to open a bat file, but it might get confused if it's trying to open it from within a zip file

Some laptops have an "S Mode" which disables things like running exe and bat files
If yours is one of them, you might need to disable S Mode to run the Stardew Modding API installer

From the logs, it seems Modular Gameplay Overhaul is having errors
I'm not super familiar with the mods but I'm sure someone else more experienced can use the logs to help you here
hey guys, does anyone know why these trees would be a magenta color in this stage of growing? the only mods i can think of that could influence the appearance of trees would be foliage redone or vibrant pastoral but i dont see why either of those mods would cause this
thats what they look like when you have tree fertilizer on them
ohhh ok that makes sense, is there a file or something i can edit to change the appearance?
i assume the color is hardcoded so no. you can just wait for the tree to finish growing and the color will go away

Has anyone verified the current build of Stardew plus the API on a Steam deck in like, the last month or so? I just got one myself, and started a fresh install, but I can't seem to get it to run the API.

I downloaded the game through the deck's library. Sent the latest SPAPI package, ran the shell script, the files are in place, but there's no mod console or mods.
If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). You can find instructions (with screenshots) on how to do that here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Windows#Configure_your_game_client

But it sounds like you installed SMAPI, but then didn't set your game to launch with the API
Tried that, but also went to look. There's no stardewmoddingapi.exe in the game's folder. The linux shell script gets around using launch options by just renaming the exe as "stardewvalley"

From what I'm seeing in the getting started thing for it, you should be able to run the install on linux script, and it would throw an error if something got messed up

as long as you don't save, you won't lose anything
if you DO save... a lot of the data will still be preserved in the save, but I wouldn't risk it

Hello, I need help. I use the latest version of Smapi, the game loads and it allows me to make a new game and play that, but my game crashes anytime I wanna load a game I already have. it says that api modder or something isnt responding
Have you tried waiting a bit more? Often if you click something or minimize the game while the save loads it just crashes with mods

I'd recommend switching to Nexus mods for most of SDV modding
Crop tooltip is also no longer compatible. Look for something else that works like that too

it might be related to PyTK (bug reports on the mod page) but we may never know, since we don't even know what they have there

NEVERMIND! I changed the config for that bridge from wood to stone and the texture changed to match Earthy!
I guess the original wood bridges just use vanilla textures.
THAT was the problem, that one singular bridge was vanilla while the rest of them were Earthy.

After doing some digging while I was waiting for the 10 minutes to be able to ask around, it seems that the deprecated libssl version will be in use until SV 1.6? If such is the case, I'll go compile openssl myself and stick the resulting lib in the SV folder so I at least don't have an insecure version installed systemwide, but it's kind of a bummer

Hello! I need help on running my modded SDV game on mobile.
The problem is that it keep on crashing whenever I load my save file. It was okay though when I created my character, and is running just fine.
The only mod I use is the SVE mod, along with some seasonal clothing mods.

anyone had an issue with Durin's Rest where you do 2mil+ damage to some enemies and 1 damage to others? Seems to have started when i picked up the Shadow Shiv and Durin's Warhammer. I just checked as well, even Mega Bombs are olny doing 1 damage to grubs in the mines. I've also noticed that i have insane HP regen on kill. healing 160+ per kill for some reason 😂

I can see that a there used to be a "Furniture Everywhere" mod, that's been deprecated after SDV version 1.5 cause it's supported natively. I assume this is for PC/Mac

I've a rather difficult issue to troubleshoot. Are some mods knows to cause connectivity issues when the host get a longer mod loading process? For some reason when whoever of us hosts a game gets a longer loading screen, the other loses connection. My partner just gets a straight up black screen, but mine managed to get through it, she still disconnected tho
Nothing particular shows up in smapi or in the trace error log. The only thing I noticed was that it happens during the loading of a certain part of East Scarp

I followed a tutorial on YouTube to the tea n the sprites r perfect it's just the dialogue portraits tht are suddenly multiple
This happens, I'd be happy if there was a way to fix it. It's ok if there isn't
guessing either your portrait is the wrong size or is declaring itself the wrong size. either way the display code expects it to be 2x of what it is

hey guys , modding beginner here , i have been installing mods and they have been working , except lately i downloaded some furniture mods (content packs), some worked and some didn't , the ones that didn't work were analyzed by smapi and do pop up in the configure mods menu , but they're nowhere to be seen in normal play , does anyone know what the problem could be?

Yeah, I have an earthy recolor mod. With dig spot set to true it's a clover and the animal crossing dig spot is gone. with false, it's those worms and the animal crossing digs pot (The mod I'm wanting to work) is also there too lol

Hello guys, I want to switch from standard farm to grandpa's farm midgame, but when I tried to do it the placed items are on unreachable locations even the crops and chest. I tried using the stardew valley saved editor but it only shows the standard farm even though i already saved the day where I put the grandpa's farm (I have a backup so that I wont lose my progress)

You might have done that, but you don't have Error Handler, which is bundled into SMAPI. So something likely didn't go as it should have during installation.

Which version of the game are you running? If you go into Steam and click on the gear icon, then manage properties, does it show you're running the compatibility version?

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.
There are legacy mods
But if you can play without SMAPI being installed...then you wouldn't need to switch to the compat version. 
(but this is an option if you want to try to traverse the hellscape that is legacy modding)

I think that also caused the problem cuz its an old save file and I wanted to test out free love mod.. huhu 

I'm not sure exactly how to config Split Spouse Rooms, but I know that you can set different options. Have you tried noodling with those?
idk if this is the best place to ask but does anyone know how can i access both look up anything and generic mod config menu mods' menus on steam deck i dont have a keyboard or anything available so i dont have function keys or other shortcuts

Question for Android, is the smapi modding API mod required, cause when I go to console, it isn't loading it in. Mods that says it requires it on nexus works fine .

it could be TMXL conflicting with SVE/Grandpa's Farm (theory in the bug section) and since you only have it for Joja Cola Restock, I suggest you delete both, TMXL and Joja Cola and get the unofficial Joja Cola Restock instead

Howdy! Trying to troubleshoot SMAPI on the Steam Deck. SV audio is completely muted (no sound at all) when SMAPI is installed. I thought it might be a mod, but I moved them all out of the Mods folder, tried again, no luck.
Uninstalled SMAPI, launched and audio worked normally! Brand new SMAPI installation, no mods added, and audio is muted again.
Have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling SV as well - no luck.

Hello, I'm having problems with my Stardew Valley game (on Steam).
My 1. problem is when starting the game - it takes a while - OK, but sometimes I have to launch it for the 2nd time - error ???.
2. problem - after successfully loading the game, my FPS gets extremely low (delay of around 400 milliseconds between frames --> unplayable, like on the picture; GPU is max. on 10% of usage) I don't know why this is happening. Also, I'm not sure if it is normal for FTM (Farm Type Manager) to spam my game log - you can see it in my log. It happens in brand-new saves as well as old saves. Can someone please help me with these issues?

Have also tried a few previous versions of SMAPI and still the same issue for me. Possible it might be the OS which is the only thing I haven’t tried yet - think I might try a full restore of Linux unless anyone has any other ideas?

So my girlfriend's having an issue with modded Stardew specifically, with unmodded Stardew its fine. In Windowed Borderless mode, I can't use the Windows Key to switch to other tabs, is there a reason for that? I can use the Windows Key just fine
