nah i downloaded that one to try and fix it, it didn't work :/ it just changed the tile in the greenhouse

Hello, I'm a farmer using "Better Junimos" mod. When I touched the Junimo barn in the Android version, the chest of the barn didn't open, and only these notices kept popping up. Can you tell me how to solve it?

are you sure that some non-error messages didn't get cut off as well? there doesn't seem to be any patches to data/specialorders and i think few of your mods always patch that. i wouldn't be too surprised if missing special orders would cause that error though
Pretty sure, I have to force close my game because I just get a black screen and my SMAPI goes BRRRRR and gets the same error over and over. But I tried making a new save file and just slept my way to Summer 1st and it worked fine. I did uninstall Longevity not too long ago because I got an error item (flounder). Could uninstalling that mod have caused the issue, and explain why that safe file is no longer working properly?

Place your TMXL mod in TMXL/, so that the content.json is TMXL/content.json.
you can also just copy the mod's[TMXL] asdffolder and then rename it

i speak both french and english. I mainly play the game in english but would like to play in french.
with that, i would like to have SVE in French but I cannot tell if I need to remove the english one I have and install the french version. I'm not able to do that since I play both versions. is there a way to avoid this? Ik some translations for other mods only require me to put a file inside of a "i18n" folder. is this not possible for SVE?

don't think so, I just un-zip all the mods under the Mods file, and then play through smapi, my friend does the same.

@stray spire Hi, sorry to ping you. I wanted to ask about the recent change you made regarding needing extended prestige levels to achieve perfection. Does it include custom skills such as Cooking, Binning, Socialising, etc, that have support for the extended level system MARGO implements? If so, could you consider implementing a config option to disable needing those, so that only vanilla skills are required?
Cooking is not a core mechanic in the game, and as such it was never designed to be engaged with to the same extent as the main five. And so, progression is very slow, and I think you'd need to put in some serious effort to grind it out to actually get it to level 20 within any realistic time frame, which imo would suck all the fun out of it.
As for other skills like Binning (Socialising I have not installed so far), I don't want to feel like I HAVE TO go rummaging for trash every single in-game day, so that I can progress the skill at a steady pace. I only added the Binning mod as a fun little thing to make rummaging in the trash a bit more interesting and worthwhile, but I don't want it to be tied to my character's overall progression...
As an aside, I really like what you have done with the mod, in making the gameplay experience feel more involved and more cohesive. Stardew Valley is a wonderful game, but many parts of it are rather simplistic, and while that is perfectly fine, I tend to gravitate more towards games with more complex (and more rewarding) systems. MARGO offers exactly that, so thank you making it. 🙂

Does anyone have any suggestions for reducing winter lag. My game gets stuck loading sprites for all the characters. In winter. Every once in a while I get a big lag spike usually when transitioning areas late at night I get one. Then when transitioning to the next day I get one. And usually I don't get too many more than that. But last night I got one while I was walking through an area, not even during a loading screen.
I'm very confused as to why this is happening because I have seasonal sprites for pretty much All my characters including modded ones so The fact that it's only happening in winter is very confusing to me.

quick glance at file contents on nexus shows an i18n/fr.json in the french translation, so you may be able to drop that in to your english install and have it work.
i don't know how much of SVE actually goes through i18n, so your mileage may vary. (the french translation version also has a lower version number and seems to include the rest of the mod, so shrug emoji)
i don't use SVE myself, so i'm afraid i can't be any more help than that

Android SMAPI does not currently work for SDV 1.5.6.61. We do not know if or when it will be made compatible.
Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a solution.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
b) you have the latest mod version(s) or have the last-known Android-compatible version;
c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).

Reinstall SVE. You only moved the C# version in your folder.
You need all the folders within the SVE folder.

Most of the time portrait packs come in bulk, so you'd want to have a modular one that allows for disabling certain parts of them
others don't have a config and thus you have to rely on modifying the load order

Hey I'm getting a lot of winter lag in my game specifically in the evenings and during day changing occasionally when walking around I'll lock up as well. I'm assuming it has to do with winter lag. However I haven't had lag like this in any other season and I've had seasonal edits on the entire time.
I'm going to try to turn off seasonal edits in SVE for the season
But I'm really starting to question whether that's actually it I know it gets stuck in the log when loading character sprites.
I've had seasonal cute outfits on the entire game and haven't had any problems yet so I'm a bit confused why I'm having problems all of a sudden.
Are there any other mods that do seasonal edits I can share my mod list / log if it helps

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Right, you're the Steam Deck user using levels of mods meant for PC. I think atra already told you that asset edits, especially with how much winter does, makes this sort of lag happen, yes?

You have options if you are worried that the update to 1.6 will break your modded save.

Copy and move your game folder to a new location on your computer and launch SDV directly from that new location. For easier access, pin the new location to your favorites or create a shortcut to the .exe file on your desktop!

If it makes you lose progress, quit out, delete your old saves folder, and put in the backed up one

Hi! I have SVE and a custom NPC installed that have some overlap,
the NPC has a cutscene in the graveyard that when I trigger I cant actually watch because SVE adds extra foliage or something to the graveyard and this bush in particular blocks my path so I cant progress the cutscene and am forced to skip it, is there any way to remove the bush or clip through or even change the players spawn point during the cutscene so i can actually progress it
install noclip and enable it during the cutscene

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). that does sound like a problem with stardrop. stardrop does have its own log that may or may not be useful, and you can find it by selecting View > Stardrop Log File. once you have it, can you just upload it to discord so I can take a look at it?

not using a mod manager! I'm a bit nervous about uninstalling and reinstalling a mod - is there a right way to do it? Previously I deleted the old file and copied the updated mod into my folder, but I've read somewhere that I wasn't supposed to do that?
If you're wondering why I'm assuming this, because you're getting a ship error, I'm only checking on stuff that wouldn't be vanilla on each. That leaves Frog roe (which was present in day 2, didn't crash) and the Starfish. So either a vanilla item has been edited when it shouldn't have been (hence the reset), SVE's JA got bugged somehow, and/or a mod manager misdeployed the mods

Okay I've 'verified' files on Steam which took about 5 seconds and it said all '3XXX files successfully verified' so assuming there's no issue there. Had a browse through the list of XNB mods but I don't think I'm using any? Reinstalling Stardew Expanded now 🙂

None of the mods you have would do that. Exactly how are you determining that friendship points are lowered?
If it's anecdotal, then it's likely you're not actually losing any friendship gain. If it's not, we need the metric. (Usually, it'd be an easy test of "give loved gift and having tracked the before and after of friendship with Lookup Anything".)

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day. In multiplayer, the game saves after all players click through the prompts at end of day and wake up in the morning.

I have a problem with my portrait mods (via Portraiture) . I'm using DCBurgers and the DCBurger style portraits for SVE & Ridgeside for Portraiture and they are showing up as very zoomed in, if anyone knows how to fix this I would love help bc I really like these portraits. To give you further info, at first the Ridgeside portraits where in a different folder and I had to keep switching between both folders in game with 'p' and so I merged them into one folder, I also had to get HD Portraits for another mod I want to run, did I do something wrong?

Can I get some help? My game keeps crashing after a full day, there's no errors or anything, no repeats of mod. I can run a day just fine it's just that when I enter my house or sleep at the end of the day, it crashes. Does anyone know how to fix it?

But when i offline copy according to !backup and launch with smapi, i don't see any of the files in that offline game version

the .config folder is in the home folder, but it's hidden by default
the file manager probably has an option to show hidden files somewhere
(it's also a flatpak thing)
according to the web it should show them with Ctrl+H
flatpak, and there's another package manager that does this, wants to isolate each program in its own enviroment, so all the stuff usually in .config is elsewhere and under like per-program namespaces

Hi friends. I need some assistance. I recently got a new PC set up, and Stardew keeps crashing when I click on LOAD. I've moved all my saved files out of the game to see if that was crashing it. Hey, me and my friend are doing a heavily modded playthough and we randomly started having an issue where his game will freeze for awhile and it will disconnect me. Sometimes he will be able to keep playing sometimes he'll crash. I have a log from when he crashed but I don't see any obvious error messages so I'm not sure why I'm disconnecting. More specifically, this crash/lag has happened when entering 'Grandpas Shed' from SDVE and the house on ginger island.
I can provide more info if needed and also we can replicate the issue and get more logs if needed. If anyone has any idea what's going on even slightly I'd be greatful for any help.

(Might not want to ping Pathos for just any message, fogstorms - pings are mainly used to let the recipient know there's a new message that needs to be taken care of, and there's not much someone can do in response to a statement like the one you just gave)
(It's good to limit pings since not everyone feels the same way about them, but I'm fine getting pings on any message meant for me, since I tend to jump around a lot so I might not see a reply otherwise.)

My smapi log is too large to upload to the site (25.5 MB), anyway I finished the small part of the community center that unlocks the greenhouse, had robin build a (new) greenhouse (separate from the one that comes with the farm), put jar crops in it put the character to sleep. Went back to it the next (in-game) day and a lot of the crops are missing....

hiii idk if this is an issue with mods or what but. when I press the menu button (escape, E, or the menu button on my controller), the screen zooms out slightly, but doesnt open the menu. Does anyone know if this could be a mod issue or?

Having an odd quirk where if I try to tab to change rows, strange behavior occurs.

I figured out my issue, it's a problem with the vertical tool bar, and appears to linger even after the mod is removed.

Straight away I see a red flag - you both do not have matching mod lists.
At a minimum you need to have matching C# mods
now that you pointed that out he has a bunch of mods enabled that we both disabled a long time ago, so im not sure what's happening on his end

If you use a launcher like stardrop usually and he is accidentally forgetting to do so... I know that was an issue with a friend and myself at one point.

ah never mind, you're missing the truck from the lemur_coffeeshop tilesheet

as you can see your game is copying something in (those two bars) where the truck should be
it could be that the tilesheet wasn't loaded correctly, the file is corrupted etc., in that case you might neither see the cart at the beach from the second image

• Vile Ancient Fruits are either too rare or never spawning at all.
• My save won't load because the "Goblin.xnb" file went missing. It happened since I finished the blanket quest.
• I never got the Void Mint Tea recipe because the Wizard version of the event never activated due to missing code.

Hmm... I see. Really is weird. It was fine at first but then it suddenly just vanished.
Maybe something about it being in spring? At least, the moment I entered spring then tried reopening the save it stopped loading.

The one mod that could be updated is removed since it caused errors after the first event, and subsequently broke whenever you entered houses or changed locations.

I was thinking it could've been an issue with the fact that she got the mods from a zipped package I made, since there's quite a few mods. Maybe a reinstall could help

I tried to download a few animation mods (specifically, Animated Fish for both vanilla and expanded version, as well as Animated Mining Pack). However, I have downloaded the animated mods and put them in the mod folders, but they don’t work. Has anyone run into this?

Hi! I don't usually talk in discord servers but I've ran out of options. I've installed SMAPI but each time I try to launch with the base mods that it installs it immediately crashes after the console opens

Ha. I figured out what happened- I had downloaded it, but missed it when moving things to the mods folder. Moved it and now it’s working! Thank you so much!! I’ve been working on all of this mod stuff all day as it’s completely new.
@zinc belfry I've also spotted that you have earthy and grandpa's farm, and your load order is messed up; you can fix that by following the message I reply to

So I have two mods that will change or “interact” with the iridium ore, nodes, and bars (there’s one mod that recolors the iridium things and another mod that animates all mining materials). I went in and change the config for the animation so it’s turned off for the irirdium items and then the hope is that the recolor kind of takes it place. Would that work correctly?
I'd have to check if that option prevents the ore from being edited or just the animation of it

hi im on pc trying to instal smapi but when i click install windows it says Oops, couldn't find the game automatically.

the mods folder is in the game folder/directory. i know you dont have one, the command was to explain to you how to find your game folder
once you find your game folder, this is what its asking you to type in. just click on that bar at the top, press ctrl +c, then ctrl + v inside the terminal window, then press enter

i dont know enough about spacecore or wmr to tell you what exactly 1st one means, but 2nd is just saying that custom companions uses the old wmr api (like the code that makes the two mods acknowledge each others existence, i think?), but it doesn't cause any issues as far as i can tell

For the user, this means that the mod will break in the upcoming SMAPI 4.0 if it is not updated. If you are concerned about losing certain mods, it is recommended to create a backup of Stardew Valley 1.5.6 now (see !backup), but at present most modders are updating their code so that their mods can be released when 1.6 releases. Most major mods are not expected to be broken for a long period of time after 1.6 releases.
