it also happens for me (long load screen on zone transition) in single player, and then those same kinds of load screens will disconnect everyone else. Anecdotally I assume the two are related and the zones I get it on when loading/leaving aren't consistent (I don't see a pattern there)

So 3.18.6 is what I'm already on and appears to be the latest version as well. I see no options to install the Error Handler mod as part of the installation and would have expected at least a minor version bump for any change to the installer. What am I missing?

When you reinstall SMAPI, the three are added to the normal Mods folder

Umm well it's on mobile but exiting like just pressing the home button or the one where you can see all the apps you have open ๐ but like any form of leaving makes it reset
probably not much we can do with mobile issues

Disclaimer: despite me modding, this is my first time playing the game. I play all of my games modded if possible... so I'm admittedly missing a good chunk of knowledge.
On to my question: why can't I upgrade my other farm buildings (like player 2's cabin) in co-op*? Do I have to have my house fully upgraded first?
*I haven't tried singleplayer yet.
EDIT: If it matters, I'm using Grandpa's Farm with SVE.

im playing smapi with like 120 mods right now and the loading times are a few minutes long, which is fine, but the latest one has now lasted for like 90 minutes, which is probably just a fatal error somewhere, is there any way to figure out which mod caused this?

yes i know what it looks like normally. but thats what dynamic nighttime does, it makes the mornings darker in fall and winter
if you dont like it, change the settings or remove the mod
no i like it, its just waking up to nightieme when its morning is off
... again, thats part of the mod. its supposed to emulate the days getting shorter with the seasons

if you want to disable all mods, do that for the Mods folder
so every time i try to load my save it crashes after the love of cooking mod edits the cookingrecipes file from the base game, is there anything i can do here, barring uninstalling the mod? Edit: it freezes, not crashes, idk if there's a difference

the log messages don't necessarily mean that love of cooking mod is the problem (and there can be more messages that are not visible by default). have you tried removing it to see if it works after that? it's also good to send the log here

most of the messages are not printed to the smapi console and on the log site you need to enable trace to see them. but okay, on your log the last message is related to love of cooking in a way 00:55:14 TRACE SMAPI Love of Cooking edited Data/CookingRecipes. 00:55:14 TRACE SMAPI Invalidated 1 asset names (Data/CookingRecipes). first time i waited like 90 minutes though i didnt check that log very thoroughly

yeah 90 minutes is for sure too long. unless you're accidentally clicking on the smapi console (it can stop the loading)

Tbh whenever you do something (clicking or alt-tabing) while loading a save file with mod, smapi isn't happy with it

Thanks for the tip, from what i've heard tmxl is not well optimized, but i dread the task of having to go through my mods to figure out which ones require it. my save finally loaded now, btw. It seemed to spend four minutes editing quests for walk to the desert

In case something happen like you accidentally load a vanilla save (you don't wanna put mods on it), just exit after load the save. The save will be fine

If you set your launch options, when you launch from steam you will be launching the modded version

So, odd issue. During runtime, every second or so, SMAPI gets spammed with a message about "UiApp::trySetupGraphicsWindow". It's so bad that it lags out the game, it's unignorable. I've uninstalled every mod I have, deleted my mod organizer, uninstalled SMAPI, reinstalled it, and verified integrity of game cache via steam. Still having this issue. Anyone have any idea why?

I am having issues with circular loading. So it starts to load the game and then just keeps loading the same information. I check my mod rules but I am not sure it actually resolved the issue

You have a couple of duplicates, one of which is PyTK Lite, and that has a ton of mods dependent on it.

You're using Vortex. While I can understand that with 1000+ mods, it sounds appealing, Vortex wreaks havoc on SDV mods. It mysteriously "loses" files, drops them, pulls subfolders out, and this makes troubleshooting very very difficult.
Part of the issue is that you have chaos going on with the file structure.

Honestly, I would redownload everything you can manually. If you really really want a mod manager, try stardrop
if you need a mod launcher I suggest stardrop

If your resolution is messed up try deleting startup_preferences This can be found on Windows at %appdata% > Stardew Valley > it's in that folder, or C:\Users\Yourwindowsnamehere\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley or for Mac can be found at ~/.config/StardewValley To get here you'll want to go to your desktop, then in the menu bar select Go -> Go to Folder...

Still didn't work, unfortunately. In case it makes a difference, I've been using Mod Organizer 2 to organize mod profiles for two different saves. Could that program be messing with the file structure like Vortex does?

I have been since our conversation started. I uninstalled MO2 before I joined this server, since I thought it might be involved. I also reinstalled SMAPI at the same time by running the SMAPI uninstall command through the CMD window of the windows installer, and then running the install command directly after. Do you think I need to reinstall SDV itself?

Not as far as I'm aware, no. I just grabbed the zip from smapi.io, extracted, and ran the install on windows.bat. I'm looking at the SMAPI config now under smapi-internal, and it doesn't LOOK like I've enabled verbose logging. I think I will though, see if something jumps out at me in the logs

The new resolution showed up in the logs correctly when it attempted a resize, but it still didn't fix the issue

I don't know that it correctly cleared all of the old files when I uninstalled stardew... I've got my saves backed up, do you think I should go in and delete the steamapps/common/stardew valley folder after an uninstall?
You could try that, yes. It wouldn't hurt, esp if you've backed up your saves

- Tried to delete the steam install directory for SDV and reinstall SMAPI on an absolutely fresh install. Didn't work.
- Following steps 2 and 3 didn't work either.
- When I did a fresh install, I didn't delete the stardew folder under AppData/Roaming. I doubt that would be causing any issues, but I've been wrong before. Do you think it's safe to delete that folder and do (yet another) reinstall?
Honestly, I don't think it's SDV or SMAPI related - I think it might be something to do with your graphics card or resolution. Is your firmware up to date?

Not your fault! You did, quite literally, try everything ๐
SMAPI redirects console input to the log. Since those messages appear in the console but not the log, that means they're being injected by something outside the game process (i.e. not part of the game, SMAPI, or installed mods). So probably something installed on your computer is trying to connect to the window, and the message mention OverlayConnector.
So the problem might be one of your installed apps that adds game overlays (like Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic, EA Games, etc). Do you know which overlay-adding apps you have (besides Steam)?
There's a few that I'm aware of. Medal, for one. I think steam overlay is also enabled. Should I try to disable those, see if I still get the error?
First, try fully exiting Steam (including from the taskbar icon area), then launching StardewModdingAPI.exe directly from the game folder. That should run the game without Steam and its overlay. Does the issue still happen then?

Hello can anyone help please? So i've been having a problem since i tried to add SVE on my android, i did use the SVE patch for android to install it but for some reason it doesn't let me proceed to the next day and the screen just stays black like it's waiting to finish saving, i decided to remove the SVE thinking it might be the problem but it's still the same, i've tried uninstalling then reinstalling everything i had before the SVE too. I'm hoping someone can maybe help me here? I'm desperate ๐ญ

as for the udpate notices,
some of the mods have multiple versions (e.g. CP/AT) with differing version numbers but the same update key, ignore those
some may have the wrong version number in the manifest.json (to see that you'd have to open those with a text editor)

sewertiles is last edited by Rustic Country Town Interior, if you want to keep both mods you have to add a false dependency for Rustic to Underdark Sewers's manifest
the sewer map itself should however be working
you can find the UniqueID for Rustic in its manifest
(can't help you much there, my break's over)

Try increasing the difficulty to hard in settings, and then lowering it back down to medium. This should force a refresh of the objectives.
If that doesn't work, you can type cmbt adv ruin in the console to force-complete the quest.

i updated Lacey to fix this bug (and a couple others; and there's a turkish translation, too).
if you use the cave now (with lacey 1.1.2), all the events should work except "10 hearts", which is a null event that isn't excluded from the cave's search. ("10 hearts II" is the actual 10-heart event)

i have tried changing the dependencies in the manifest but it doesnt work
the one you want to load last should depend on the other one

Hey yall! I'm experiencing some freezing while running through East Scarp, and some unplayably long load times.
I'm running about 180 mods - primarily sve rsv es and ppja. Any suggestions on where to start tinkering?

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance. It is highly configurable and you can choose which options to enable.
spritemaster is the first (and about the last) way to cut down load times when you have a lot of mods.
if you don't like the graphics resampling, you can turn that off

(in particular, there is a function that checks maps and paths which gets slow very fast when you have a lot of additional maps. spritemaster makes it way less bad)

I'm using the mods "seasonal winery" from naver and "tiny greenhouse". Both require solid foundations. I encountered an issue where the builds randomly disappeared. I had to rebuild them the fist time it happened. Now this is the second time. I'm at a loss... (Some mods give an update notice but then I don't actually see any update on their site)

in general you can go to http://smapi.io/mods/ to see which mods are up-to-date, and links for patches/replacements for broken mods if they exist. (though this doesn't cover content packs)

yes. i constructed them thru Robin, and they were on my farm for quite a bit. suddenly, they disappeared off my farm. 2nd time it has happened. first time it happened, I had to rebuild them again.
Unfortunately, SMAPI's not showing any errors for either - so it's going to be very hard to pin down what could be causing it.

it works fine for me other than that numberofhairstyles error. I mainly use it since it keeps a naver mod from causing issues

What I can see from your log is that you have multiple copies of Immersive Farm 2 Remastered, and you should delete the duplicate in order for it to work
It might be easier to delete the file and completely reinstall it

Try reinstalling SMAPI (you can use the same program, it will automatically figure out what's already there) and see what happens

Sometimes mods get flagged by overzealous antiviruses. If you're really worried about viruses in mods you can:
- download from Nexus or Moddrop, which check all files for viruses automatically
- preview the file contents on Nexus to see what you're downloading (content packs containing only images and json files are highly unlikely to be viruses)
- view the source code for most C# mods on Github by going to smapi.io/mods and checking the advanced options
- download and compile the source code yourself

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

That's a known android issue.
The best thing you can do is to spawn all the items in and donate them to the museum all at one time

I don't want to lose the interresting challenge when collecting thing and dote to museum, so I use CJB Item Spawner to get all collections, then donate 4 drawf scrolls, then delete all the rest, is it possible to do it ?

All right, I'm back. I entered the house around 5:00. This time in game it didn't crash when I entered the farmhouse. it crashed when I left the farmhouse. The log still doesn't have any trace for why the crash is happening

Found the problem, When I tried to replace the portraits in the original game file with Anime ones, it would start the game with no portraits at all apparently? So it crashed. I had saved the original portraits, and just copy pasted them back, and now the game works again as far as I can see.
But I still want the anime portraits... How do I switch to them then..

AT retextures will usually only apply after you manually choose it with the bucket, yeah

Hey there,
I'm trying to get SMAPI running on a steam deck.
I've got it installed correctly as far as I can tell, but it won't run. If I run ./StardewModdingAPI in the terminal I get
Aborted (core dumped)```
Running linux native Stardew and installed the linux version of SMAPI.
It seems there might have been a steamOS update that caused this incompatibility, so I don't know if there's a fix available.
Let me know if anyone knows how to get this going.
It never fails. As soon as I post a public question about it, I find the one post on the quietest corners of the internet that works points me in the right direction so I can assemble the pieces. Here's the fix for any future searchers.
Install SMAPI
Open a terminal window in the game install folder
run ./StardewModdingAPI and confirm it's the exact error I posted above.
If so, first set a sudo password for your deck with the command passwd
Then execute:
sudo steamos-readonly disable
sudo pacman-key --init
sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux
sudo pacman-key --populate holo
This lets you write the missing library to the deck and fixes an issue you would have with the keyfiles if you jumped ahead to installing the library.
When that finishes, you solve the actual problem:
sudo pacman -S openssl-1.1
Once that is successful, it is a good idea to
sudo steamos-readonly enable```
And finally, run SMAPI as normal via steam or by running `./StardewModdingAPI` again. It'll either work, or you'll get new errors to troubleshoot ๐ But this fixed it for me.

I have my own game with mods, but me and my boyfriend want to start a game together without mods. Do i have to take them out of my mod folder everytime or is there another thing i can do?

Do you want to play the vanilla game after having installed SMAPI? Keep in mind that you cannot play vanilla on a previously modded save. Please use separate saves for playing vanilla vs modded Stardew! That said, there are a few ways this can be achieved:

If playing the game through Steam or GOG on a Windows device, clear your launch options, then select play from your game client. See the !launchoptions command for more info.

Go into your game folder and launch StardewValley.exe. See the !findmodsfolder command for more info.

Change the name of your Mods folder to anything other than Mods. Then launch the game as you normally would, this will make SMAPI launch but without any mods being loaded by it.

Set up SMAPI as a custom game in Steam. See the !modgroups command for more info.
If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). Uninstalled the game, xnb files can't be deleted

(on macOS) every time i quit SDV, there's an unmodded SDV icon in the dock left open. The only way to get rid of it is to force quit. Is this a known issue? Does this mean there is something wrong with SMAPI? it's a little annoying to have to force quit a thing every time i exit the game regularly, but it's not a big deal..

But it just says there's an event in the farmhouse at 6:10
It doesn't seem to be related to my spouse at all because it's not under their events.
So I'm not sure what's causing it?

last thing listed in your log is EventRepeater logging that
better text editing software, lets you search for things in a folder

so I put hyper speed gro on some long-growing seeds, and I also have agriculturalist. the original grow time was 48 days, but when I double-check the grow time with lookup anything it still says 48 days? I waited 8 days and it went down to 40. It should be somwhere around 28 days total instead.

okay I did another test, with some odd results. it did make me realize I did some math wrong though. the total normal time is 56 days not 48, though with hyper speed gro and agriculturalist it should still be 33 days.

- deluxe sg: 47

so for some reason the higher tiers of speed gro don't seem to be doing anything

Since nobody helped my problem, I had to uninstall smapi, uninstall steam and the games installed (including stardew), uninstall steam, format my D drive, and then reinstall steam, stardew, start vanilla before reinstalling smapi, and then reinstall the mods

you can download it to wherever you want with GoG, folder names aren't an indicator
I assume some pirated site gives double nested folders with that because pirated copies are almost always at that path

in the same config you can also set "DeveloperMode": true,, which makes TRACE messages appear by default

Afaik It says the stardew valley expanded folder is corrupted and unreadable
Which implies that something is either going very wrong with your hdd/ssd or that you need to reinstall stardew valley expanded. Something may have just gone wrong with Stardrop
that sounds like it might be your HDD/SSD then. There is a chance your hard drive is dying. i recommend getting "crystal disc info" and checking the status of your drive but at that point this is starting to drift to general pc tech support support. try to avoid downloding /installing more things until you know the status of your hard drive.

Since the former requires the older XSLite, whereas XS mods typically use the newer Expanded Storage 2.0+

How do people feel about that %mention% optional thing you can add to commands that will ping a user? I've been cleaning stuff up, and IMO it always seemed a bit pointless, you can just ping or reply to someone yourself
