Hello I'm in desperate need of help with a mistake I made in my farm. A year ago I was playing around with CJB spawner and accidentally put down on my farm an incubator. I don't know why but I can't remove it because I also tried putting an egg inside to see if i could destroy it. Nothing has worked for me, I've tried 2 mods but none work. I need someone who knows how to remove it from my safe file so I can edit it out. Please someone help me🥹
The only way I know of to fix this is a world clear which will kill everything on your farm
So you would likely just have to deal with it Unless you're willing to put everything you can inside a building and then activate the command, losing all your crops and stuff.

From Smapi: [Content Patcher] Two content packs want to load the 'Maps/Forest-FlowerFestival' asset (Ridgeside Village (Content Patcher component) and Stardew Valley Reimagined 3). Neither will be applied. You should remove one of the content packs, or ask the authors about compatibility.
Does this mean there's nothing I can really do? Or is there something somewhere in the mod folder that I can adjust?
There's nothing you can do other than rewriting the mods in question to pick one of them to "win"

Note: unless it lets you disable per festival, I suspect it disables them for ALL the festivals, which means some stuff might not line up. i.e. cliffs and trees might be in different places.

What governor said is why SVE broke in strict mode. It'll be updated for SMAPI 4.0, but the current version won't work when Stardew 1.6 comes out.

I downloaded it off nexus, and got all the required mods, but it says I'm missing a few flash-shifter things
Got a little problem with the Modular Overhaul mod. Went to its page on Nexus to check some documentation only to find it gone. I then found the github repository for it, but after I got it, unzipped and put it in the mod folder... nothing. It wasn't even recognized as a mod (good thing I kept a backup of the previous Nexus version). So how do I make it work, in case I ever need to update it?
You need to download the release, not the source code

BC I have one mod with some red wheat (Quadrotriticale) that regrows and can provide more fiber and hay (indirectly), as well as other odd plants and recolored crystal tile floor

Through terminal with ./ because trying to launch it by the icon does absolutely nothing.
I can sit there and doubleclick it or right-click 'run as program' for ten minutes straight and I might get the mouse turning into the little thinky wheel for a second but that's it.
I've also tried changing StardewModdingAPI to Stardew Valley.exe and running it through Steam, and I get a thinky wheel but no game.

so, in the beginning when you tried to install/launch smapi, there were some permission issues? i wonder since those are solved if verifying the game files via steam and doing a normal smapi install would work. to at least rule out any confusion from manual install etc.

Try this:
- Open the installer folder.
- Hold
shiftand right-click on the folder background. - Click the option that says Open in command prompt / PowerShell / Windows Terminal (depending on your Windows settings).
- Run
"install on Windows.bat"(if Command Prompt) or./"install on Windows.bat"(if PowerShell or Windows Terminal). - Now if it crashes, the window should stay open so you can see the error.
- Post a screenshot of the full window when it shows the error here.

Hey guys! I recently started playing on mac after years on iOS. Obviously I ran to install SMAPI but I keep getting the “Oops! SMAPI can't find the game. Make sure you're running StardewModdingAPI.exe in your game folder”. I tried pretty much all the troubleshooting around, what I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
Well, what folder did you give to the installer?
I left the SMAPI installer in the downloads folder - on Reddit someone was suggesting to move the installer folder in the MacOS folder of the game but that didn’t work as well
(Also tried the manual installation)
So you didn’t try to give it a path manually?
It should ask you for the path if it fails to find one

Hi ! I have a question about the mod combine machine : is it possible, with the increase speed option, to go down 10 mn in game ? Like produce every minutes ? Or is not and I shouldn’t combine to much machine ?

Scratch what I said, how would I do that? Because this has happened before and I deleted Error Handler and anything associated with Smapi before in order to reinstall it, but then Smapi wouldn’t work
go through the installer. If it doesn't say to install to D:\Steam 2\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley, you're not installing SMAPI to the right place.

When you install SMAPI, it reinstalls to your Mods folder, what it looks like it is in that image.

The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

The Smapi download is in the right position but it goes straight to the original Mods folder and not my separate path, meaning that the correct one has been sittiing in the same place, being of no use to anybody.

then that's some vanilla issue you have there friend and I am now definitely suspecting you didn't properly reset your files
for context: no mods but error handler means you're playing vanilla
so either a mod bricked these on your save, which is unlikely but possible, or your SDV install is messed up
or you're not properly doing something to put it on the pedestal

Hey so I recently reinstalled stardew valley and reinstall the mod list that I had before which I used about 2 months ago. The mod is not a mod for SMAPI. Check the installation instructions of the mod.
It is most likely not a content patcher mod but you have to manually overwrite the portraits of the game itself.

I saw that there are several NPC events on my doorstep that were supposed to happen, but they are not processed or something like that. I use a mod command "event Repeater" which is "emergencyskip" otherwise I stay in the event forever.

- Load up a save (with Content Patcher installed)
- Type
patch export <FILEPATHOFTHING>in the SMAPI console and hit return - Look in your
patch exportfolder in the game folder for the relevant json file or image - If it's a json file, you can share it via smapi.io/json. If it's an image you should just be able to look at it.

Like you need to create a folder in its Portraits folder, drop the portraits in there, open up the game and press P while talking to someone (or press M to open up the menu key) to apply it

Hello!!!! I'm very very sorry to spring this up on everyone as a complete newbie, but i'm trying to help out a friend with a real unusual issue and could appreciate any pointers? She installed the SMAPI folder no biggie, but when it came down to trying to run the windows installer, it only gave her a prompt asking her to get an app from the playstore (presumably so it could run the installer??), with the option to search the playstore leading to absolutely nothing. I cannot send screenshots of the issue due to her computer not being in english (as it would go against the rules of this server). Any help would be appreciated, and again, i'm sorry for the hassle!!!!!

Try this:
- Open the installer folder.
- Hold
shiftand right-click on the folder background. - Click the option that says Open in command prompt / PowerShell / Windows Terminal (depending on your Windows settings).
- Run
"install on Windows.bat"(if Command Prompt) or./"install on Windows.bat"(if PowerShell or Windows Terminal). - Now if it crashes, the window should stay open so you can see the error.
- Post a screenshot of the full window when it shows the error here.

Can someone help me in understanding a few issues with my mods?
Problem 1: I was testing my new mods to make sure they're working properly, and first off, the load time was quite long - I assume it was because there were so many new things added. However, while going around making sure buildings are where they should be and such, my Bush Bloom mod has an error message and the items that you 'grab' from the bush is left with an Error Item label.
Problem 2: I installed Slightly Cuter Character Outfits for Vanilla, SVE, Ridgeside, and ES. But they don't show up, not sure why.
Problem 3: I've seen other modders using Zyr's Multipurpose Shed and Redesigned Shed Layout, but I have no idea the steps or configs they're using to get them to work without the infinite loading glitch.

SMAPI, under normal installation, will automatically find your game files. Before you install, go back to Steam and clear the launch options, then verify the game files integrity.

That's just a warning for the mod author. You don't need to worry about that warning.
Red text indicates something is not working correctly.

You can use cjb cheat menu to speed up walk or timespeed to make time slower

need help installing smapi on mobile. tell me if i did something wrong;
- install the games from playstore
- download latest build of smapi from github
- press install from stardew valley installer
- let it do the work.
so far, that's what i've been doing . but after it finished installing, i launch SMAPI Stardew Valley, got a white screen for a second and boot me back out. there's no file migration prompt, nothing. anyone can help me?
actually I DO get the farm migration prompt, but that only happen when i open the original Stardew Valley apps, not the SMAPI one.. anyway, i did migrate as per instruction but still nothing happen with the SMAPI one.. it still just force stop once i start it..
I'm seeing some stutters when moving in large map like the village or forest. Like it freeze for a few milliseconds then it stops like nothing happened. Only i moved a few millimeters forward

That particular mod is Bonster's Rare Crops, which is only the crops part.
The one it's recommending I update to is Bonster's Oddi-trees, which is only the trees part.
I don't have Oddi-trees installed because they don't have much in the way of unique textures (according to the author), so they're hard to tell apart.
Farmer to Florist is broken; FeTK is obsolete and will cause issues if you keep it installed. In order to have Toshinori's custom patio, you need to install Custom Spouse Patio (by aedenthorn); in order for Downtown Zuzu to work, you need TrainStation
And Walk to the Desert (the original) is broken - there is a redux version that works.

So i'm not sure if it's directly in the like, in game config menu but there is an option for ifr2 to remove the fences
If it's not in the ingame menu you'll need to go into the mod folder for ifr2 and into the content file to manually set the fences to false
or in this case true, since they all read Remove_Fences_

Steamdeck is harder to use because it's Linux underneath, and Linux is harder to use
It's not impossible, but it might take some patience and reading up on Linux

Like for example, if I had a mod that added 10 new lines of dialogue for Emily and another mod that added 15 new lines for the same character would she now have 25 new lines of dialogue or would one mod override the other?

Would someone be able to take a look at a smapi log someone sent me? This person gets an error with the npc adventures mod, but the strange thing is that their error for npca is similar to the 50 others that are 'unable to load translation files' errors for their other mods, so I feel like the issue lies somewhere else

I'm having an issue with my chests and crafting where I can't pick up items or craft them. I have the better chests and better crafting mods, with chests anywhere mods and custombackpack framework. the items are grayed out in chests if i want to pick up certain items and the crafting system won't let me make anything

Sorry for the ping, I hope you dont mind. I saved the Kent.json as UTF-8 and sent it to the person, but the same error still persists for some reason. I double checked that it really saved in UTF-8 in notepad as well

Copy and move your game folder to a new location on your computer and launch SDV directly from that new location. For easier access, pin the new location to your favorites or create a shortcut to the .exe file on your desktop!

I asked this earlier but im still having some issues: Does anyone know how to fix the error found in this smapi log? A person sent it to me saying they had issues with npc adventures, however the error they get for it is repeated for most other mods. They already reinstalled smapi + stardew + all their mods. Cause the name of the file started with . i guess?
thats what it looks like but its definitely not starting with that in the original mod download
so somehow their game is changing it on its own
or its being changed by their mac once they download it

@lament prairie Is this something you've seen before on macOS, the ._* files getting copied into the actual folder for SMAPI to (try to) read? (See [start of conversation](#archived-modded-support message).)
I suspect the i18n warnings aren't an issue; SMAPI will just ignore the invalid files and load the correct ones. Not sure what NPC Adventures is doing though; possibly it dynamically loads all the data files it finds in its folder?
Yeah, macOS adds empty metadata files like ._<original filename> next to the real files. They're normally not supposed to be visible to the code though.

If it is just harmless errors (the true file is being read) then it’s probably best to ignore them and eventually on the SMAPI side write code to detect and ignore
Let's say I start a new save and the greenhouse is located at a safe place.
I want to test a new farm map so I use easy farm switcher and the new farm map loads fine
Except what I think is the greenhouse is now appearing on a modded River and the greenhouse has a fish pond in the middle. I use reset terrain feature and the Fish pond is still there

Some of the rest of the files are just a function of HFS+. If you format your thumbdrive as exFAT or NTFS they won't be created. The ._{filename} is the resource fork on your file. All files in macOS have that fork and that's how it tries to serialize them to disks with a different file system.
This paragraph in particular makes me suspect it’s specifically running Stardew on an external drive from a mac that causes this
almost all of my mods work except for one for some reason hahaha. the NPC Adventures mod instantly crashes on itself when it gets to ._kent.json
but for some reason the mod loads with an old version (before kent was added to it)
