Hey Pathos I noticed when I last checked you removed your ppja mega pack from the nexus page. I still have it downloaded just was shocked I couldn't find the original page.
Hi! PPJA isn't my mod, though I might be maintaining it after Stardew Valley 1.6 is released. It hasn't been deleted so far as I know though (e.g. see PPJA Artisan Valley).
Yeah I ended up downloading the individual packs tho I can't use the flower to florist one as it takes dga and mobile is not dga friendly yet
Don't use F2F DGA version on PC either (if you have one)
Use the JA version of all PPJA mods

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

the ground will be recolored but the buildings and some of the interiors will not. you can use this mod to tone down the colors (its designed for Earthy Recolor but you can use it with VPR too) https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/17980

DCBurger's HD portraits and a few versions of the same style for SVE and Ridgeside village. I don't think the issue is the portraits themselves, but one of the required mods. (Portraiture, PyTK, Smapi, etc)
So I’m trying to mod my MacBook Air but when I try to open the Mac option for smapi it keeps saying “terminal is not open anymore” and won’t let me get any further idk what to do

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false

@little ice No - I wouldn't. You should be able to open Terminal from the Utilities apps folder. If you can't open Terminal at all, that's significant.

Go into the config settings for RSV and disable "pole in backwoods"

the things it was used for can now be done by other mods, and it caused a lot of slowdown when it came to load time
I might have to message one of the modders of the portraits and see if they plan on working on changing the dependencies/updating their mods
could be a good idea, for now you might have to wait for someone else to come by and see whats wrong with the manifest because i genuinely have no idea whats wrong with it lol

I’m also talking with, one may have suggested that I’m not extracting it actually, so I’ll explain what I do, I open the download in WinRAR, I right, click on pc intaller and then click extract two specific folder, then create a new folder, in which a new folder is created in my files, I didn’t click on the file, and then it says watch that shows in the first picture above, I might not doing something correctly?

Hello I'm very new to modding in Stardew Valley. i followed along a youtube tutorial to correctly install SMAPI, and downloaded a bunch of mods that worked just fine. today none of the mods are working anymore. it's not an issue with my graphics driver or my antivirus, the mods r not outdated, and because i just downloaded SMAPI yesterday so I definitely have the latest version 3.18.4. I'm just at a loss of what's going on and what to do. Thanks in advance

Could you please try downloading SMAPI again? Delete any other downloads for it that you have.
if the mods worked yesterday but don't work now, i'd make sure you're actually running the game with mods. you might need to change your game launch settings (i believe steam requires this)
yesterday at the top of the screen it said "running with 55 mods" and now it says "running with 0 mods". how do i change the launch settings?

If you use Steam, you can also right click on the game name > Manage > Browse Local Files.
yeah when i installed Smapi, i copied the link that was in quotes as well as the percentage thing at the end, and pasted it into the launch options. then i saw the mods were working and i played stardew valley for hours. i tried to launch it just a bit ago and nothing's working. i did just turn off my antivirus protection but its still not working
ill be hoenst this isnt my problem its my boyfriend, who has norton. and yeah seems norton as i told him 1k times, is being a problem.

and i cant help him further since its a antivirus problem and i just dont use antivirus' for this reason
He should go into Norton's settings and "allow" downloads from smapi.io and probably Nexus

usually steam, but when i try opening from smapi it opens and instantly closes
the only thing i can think of that would make SMAPI say "0 mods" is that something wiped out your mods folder. can you see if anything is left inside it?
When you launch from Steam, does the SMAPI console window open? And does the game launch?
(this is because SMAPI comes bundled with several mods)
found something weird. i renamed the mods folder to Star Mods bc i have another mods folder in my quick access so i wanted to be able to tell them apart. but there's a new mod folder

yeah smapi can only read from something called a Mods folder
the other mods folder is for my sims 2 game
so you have to change it back

oh okay, there's your problem. SMAPI loads mods from the folder called "Mods"
If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). There are many mods you can add mid-save that won't cause problems, but you may get a lot of intro cutscenes depending on the mods you add
Hey I am running into a "The given key '36' was not present in the dictionary" error whenever I try to go into the community center. It's strongly recommended, though you don't absolutely have to. It's recommended because the game experience is more immersive that way.

This is a bug with MinecartPatcher. Try to delete it and see if the bug persists.
I wondered about that, I saw the name mentioned. Let me see what mods that is a requirement for!
So the only mod that requires it I can remove, not a big deal but it seems like I still have the same error 😦 I will repost the new log!

You could try reverting to a previous save wherein you didn't get the error, delete MineCartPatcher, sleep, then try entering the CC again.
I tried editing the xml of the save file with this value change (<lastAppliedSaveFix>35</lastAppliedSaveFix>) to this before I asked for help here but that didn't help either.

Alrighty, Removed Cape Stardew and Minecraft Patcher. Sadly the save seems to be corrupted 😦 I tested making a new file and skipping to get into the community center and all is working so I guess that is the route I will take!

Hi, for some reason my mods aren't working anymore. Also, I tried verifying my files, but that didn't work either. My mods are in the Smapi internal folder. I have no reason why my game keeps crashing or lags really badly though.

You're either missing game files or they've been changed/corrupted. Try deleting SDV and reinstalling.
The log wouldn't show errors because you don't have any mods. Can you open your file manager app and search for SaveGameInfo, please?

The current version of Smapi do have some issues so it takes a while before it can be modded.

Well I uninstall smapi and reinstall it again and tried to install SDV to see if it will go past the unpacking, but sadly to say that damn error popped up again
You are on game version 1.5.6.39 right? Then idk why it's causing the same error it was fixed when I purged the data and reinstall the smapi game.

There are lots of people that solved the issue the same way I told you. I don't why it isn't working for you.
Maybe watch a tutorial on YouTube that may help you somehow.
I've tried everything and I'm about to loose my cool but I have to pick this up tomorrow cuz it 3:52am here and I need to get rest and start with a fresh mind and concentration
I got tired of the smapi installer and just installed the smapi stardew apk straight from the smapi installer folder
I tired putting some mods in the Zane York folder to check if it works....I guess it does but it says my content patcher needs updating....the antisocial npc mod went through though and overall I don't see any problems for now
I'm gonna unzip all my mods and try it out
If it works out I'll give you an update

Some of the mods there aren't working either, the app says they need to be updated

One thing that causes this problem is when you download the game from other then playstore.
I am not saying you pirated the game, a player had the problem of not being able to play some mods on cracked version but It was working for the paid version.
Can someone help me? I’ve started from scratch modding again and the game loads and launches fine, but after a certain time in the game whenever I move locations to anywhere the game black screens. No errors have come up in smapi as far as I’m aware and I’m so confused as to what could be causing it?
For the log - would you need it from when the black screen happens?

@mental quail Hey I saw your comment on remapping. I solved the issue with remapping and Cape Stardew when NPC Locations is included. The png files for Cape NPCL variant are 42 pixels wide when they should be 41. Just posting here so you can see. If you want I can send you the fixed files now but in any case the mod author said that this will be fixed in the next update of remapping.

What I think is that you should try disabling your mods by the binary search method to figure out which one does it

disable half, see if it's the half that has the problem. then when you know the half that has the problem, divide IT in halves and repeat

i usually put the names of mods i arbitrarily decided are the border of the half/quarter/etc in a separate notepad file
only issue with that is i'd need to make sure i leave in all the framework mods and dependencies

- PFMAutomate 1.4.2 because it needs newer versions of some mods: Producer Framework Mod (needs 1.7.0 or later).
Producer Framework working version for mobile as listed in android.stardew.rocks is 1.6.0, so in this case I just can't use PFMautomate?

hey there! yesterday, I taught a friend to install sdv mods, and after installing all mods we intended to I told her to load the game so we could check the smapi log to make sure everything was running smooth and clean. a small red thing appeared: skipped mods, content patcher, folder empty. so I thought I recalled someone here in the server say the fix to this is uninstalling and reinstalling said mod. so I told her to close the game, remove the cp folder from the mods folder and install it again. after launching the game again, this was the outcome. and I'm trying to find out what did she do or what did I tell her to do that she shouldn't have done. can somebody help me?

I've had this issue a few times now. On Ginger Island when I attempt to use a Farm Token, instead of teleporting me back to the farm, it plays the SFX for "feeding golden walnuts to the parrots/building new structure" and consumes 5 of my golden walnuts. Nothing is built, as far as I can tell, but the SFX play and the walnuts are consumed. The farm totem is not consumed. Here is the most recent log when it happened. After it failed, I used "debug warp farm" on the console, you can see it at 21:04:40. Right before that is an "Event: AddWalletItems" that might be related to the bug?
This is my "Kitchen Sink" save with a LOT of mods, but it's happened on other saves too. At a guess, it might be related to Warp Network or Custom Obelisks.

I need help with Stardew Valley.
Until recently I was playing with Smapi and mods and suddenly I had the problem that the game started with a black screen and it wouldn't go away.
So I removed all mods and Smapi, checked the game files with Steam and removed the startup arguments.
But I still have the problem with the black screen after starting.
I've already tried the following:
- Startup_preference removed in the AppData folder (works once, black screen again the next time you start)
- the game starts in compatibility mode
- Everything checked for updates
What else can I do?

are you trying to recolour it yourself, or make it compatible with a pre-existing recolour
for me, i just copy and pasted the relevant recolour tile sheets and overrode the mods ones

The room shows up even with the recolor, the room itself just isn't recolored cause it's a room added by another mod.
I'm not very mod savvy, so I'm not sure how to just copy and paste. I had to painstakingly try to recolor it bit by bit, pixel by pixel, though it didn't work correctly cause I think the mod author mentioned that they made the mod in a weird way?

copy the tile sheets from rustic and paste them over the ones in toshinori- that should theoretically work

In your Toshinori 1.0.5/Toshinori NPC/[CP] Toshinori NPC/assets/Map/ folder is a file called "townInterior.png"

You want to make a copy of the townInterior_DustBeauty.png. Rename the COPY to "townInterior.png"
Remove the townInterior.png from the Toshinori folder. (Instead of deleting it, maybe put it somewhere else so you can put it back if something goes wrong).
Put the new townInterior.png (the one you just renamed) into the Toshinori folder, replacing the one you pulled out
Start up SMAPI and see if it works 😄

You definitely don't need to edit it pixel by pixel. 😭 Stardew uses a set of squares to build all its maps. Replace those squares and the maps will change. Almost all recolor mods work on this principle. Let us know if you have problems. Feel free to tag me; I can never keep track of what's going on in here, so the only way I'll see it is if you tag me.
(Do not remove the townInterior_DustBeauty.png from the Rustic Country Town Interior folder)

If you stick a lamp in one of the corners it will brighten things up. For some reason his window isn't coded properly as a light source, I think, which is why it's dark. Likely an issue with the original map, not anything you did.

It seems you don’t have Smapi installed. I know this sounds aggravating by try to do the whole Smapi process over again. And make sure you don’t have Stardew on your micro sd card

you can remove every mod except error handler and that should effectively create a "vanilla" save
Sure, you can put objects anywhere you want. If you put them where NPCs normally walk, the NPCs will destroy them, but if you put them out of the way like in a corner where NPCs never go, they'll stay just fine. People have decorated the quarry, the railroad, all kinds of places with different objects. I'm not sure if catalog lamps will work or if they're farmhouse-only, but the kind of lamp posts you craft (the wooden or iron ones) should work fine. 🙂

My Linux issues continue 😭

I don't know what mod it's from, but it should have 2 different PFM-related jsons. You could probably figure out where it's wonky

Sorry - I'm relatively new here and just recently started having problems with modded Stardew on PC. I've been getting a problem where loading into a new place, Stardew either freezes at a black loading screen, the new location but with glitched images, or it would work for a few seconds then freeze and switch to a glitched image. This is during a LAN session in which I am not the host. The host is able to play the game without any glitches and having the same mods installed.

The most common error in the log seems to be missing character files that causes a loop of errors. However, I have tried the following to no avail:
- Verify game integrity files
- Reinstalled SMAPI, SAAT.API, custom NPC exclusion, or any potential missing prerequisite mods
- .NET fix tool
- Host restarts the game then I reload into the game.
If anyone has a potential solution I can also try, that'd be great - thanks for your time!

Straight away I'm seeing a big red flag, Argon.
There's a big difference in modlists. A single mismatched C# is enough to cause issues.
I recommend that you & host have identical mod lists. There are a few exceptions to the matched-list rule, but generally they should always have identical C# mods.
yeah I once had a FS mod that my host didnt have and the entire session was destroyed
I realized I was completely blind and realized I was missing the SVE mod which will explain the missing character files. So far it's working despite the mod differences. Thank you!
You're welcome. It might be "working" fine for now, but mods add interactions, events, etc. over time, so later down the road you could have game-breaking issues.

I have SV on Steam. It works. However, with SAMPI the game fires up after half an hour. Even if it is just SAMPI alone without any other modifications.

Does event repeater do anything? Mine just says it has failed to load. I didn't see any other mods messed up so going to play as is but was just curious

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with one of my save files. When I walk into some of my sheds, the game freezes and eventually crashes. This doesn't happen with all of them, but I can't find a correlation to it. I use a lot of furniture mods, some sheds have modded furniture and others are completely vanilla, but it doesn't seem to matter? I can do everything else on the farm normally 🤷♀️

So the instant building mod isn't working for me. The buildings are still taking days to do. I checked the list of working mods for mobile stardew and it said its fully working
My NPC maps isnt working
I tend to use the cbj cheats menu and do the instant buildings from that. Only one it doesn't work on is the farmhouse that one still takes days to do.

I'm playing co-op for the first time and I'm not sure if me having mods will mess with the other players if they're playing unmodded. I'm hosting and just want to use some basic ui mods but don't want to force my friends to install mods since they're relatively new to the game. If anyone could let me know how that works it'd be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure which mods you're doing but some mods require both the host and the other playes to download them and others just are only required for the host

On nexus on the Description page it should have requirements listed. You download the requirements (besides smapi) and make sure to put them in the mods folder
There are is at least one we have to use an earlier version of which is producer framework mod.
I have done that.
A number of them mention me not having JSON assets despite me actually having them.
Same with event repeater and a couple others.
Some mods don't work yet like dynamics game assets, aterra core, solid foundations.

I haven't figured out an easy way to do the log for mobile as the file stuff I use makes each sentence a different sentence to copy can't copy the whole thing at once.

Ah. I found an instructional doc written by misscoriel about their event repeater mod that mentioned needing to modify manifests for cp mods to inform the mod that the required mod was indeed downloaded or something.
I did that with one of the ppja mods from the mega pack download (it now no longer exists as a mega pack) and found out the reason it messed up was missing a Dependency that wasn't listed
I'm not sure about that and you may be better off asking the document writer.
Normal manifests just state the Dependencies for it and if they are there

No only if they are labeled true but be aware it may mess up your mod/game
I have it though. And some of the mods manifests have that mod labeled as false while others have it labeled as true.
The ones that are false probably had event repeater in older versions which you may need to use to get stuff to work

I mean I have been going at this since last night and I've seen some success so I'm willing to just go see what I've managed to accomplish and what all I lack to fulfill my dream.
I've been doing this for weeks but I think I got it enough that I'll be able to play a decent game without too many problems. Finally fixed my pfm automate to actually work today. I went with a way older pfm (1.40) and then went with the first pfm automate (1.0.0)
So now both finally work together

I have two copies of some of my mods. One is a zipped file and the other is the extracted folder. Would I be able to delete the zipped file and keep the extracted folder without it affecting my mods?

I mean, true. That's most likely the reason they have it in the screen. The thing is, I installed Stardew Valley Additional Areas which adds a lake north of the backwoods. when I started the game and went to check it out I noticed that there were now stairs shortcuts to the tunnel which surprised me. As you say it must have been a glitch where the mod somehow forced a different iteration of the map

I mean, it's reasonable to assume that Stardew Valley Additional Areas, and for that matter a lot of lnh's mods could have various shortcuts. Their bus stop extension mod lets you go east from the bus stop to the community center (among other places)

Unless the author specifically mentions it I don't think they'd add something that's vanilla
true. Like you said, definitely a glitch. but also, I'm sure there are mods which "cheat" progress. For example, Stardew Valley Expanded changes the beach shortcut by introducing a new area.

hey y'all, i'm running into a crash trying to set up local co-op split screen play. My game is not modded, however I did play with someone who used mods at one point (without telling my other friend and I 😦 ) I'm thinking that's causing the crash because i've been able to set up local -co-op on another save file fine, but i'm not 100% sure because I've deleted all helper farmers on this current save. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them out.
