Question, why does some mods has separate files for DynamicGameAssets version? e.g. Animated Fish, Animated Mining Pack

Hi! I figured it out. There were missing files in some of her mods, therefore not all the mods were able to load, include both ridgeside and sve. So far so good.
Oh, good! Yeah, the general rule is that multiplayer mod users need to have the exact same mods or the game goes bonkers.

Yes, I have 3 mods that appear to be working but if I try to add any mods that add something new they don't show up in my mod manager.

The latest version may not work with Android, though.
Look for version 1.29.3 in the "Old Files" section on the Files tab in Nexus

hello! my market day seems to be devoid of anyone selling stuff but me, does anyone have any clue what might be causing that?

Not sure if this is the right place but, stardew valley gets stuck on "running" after I uninstalled smapi, I had no mods installed other than the ones smapi came with, I already deleted the startup preference files in %appdata%, reinstalled and verified the game cache as well, still not launching
Edit: nevermind, I have no idea how but the game just started out of nowhere after a long time of waiting, lmao
In the critter additions mod, how do you find the critters?
False alarm, thought the issue was fixed but it's still present, no idea how to fix it after hours of trying, I decided to do a funny and uninstalled every file in appdata and the game's local folders to no avail, it's impossible to narrow down what's wrong without an error, which, the game doesn't give

this issue was happening even when all of our mods were updated
Hi all! I have encountered a small problem and idk what mod (or why) is causing it, would appreciate some help. Sometimes, when I wake up on a fresh session (so, starting from desktop, not when I sleep and continue the day), all the stuff I have planted in my garden pots disappears. It's still *there*, I can water them and they grow, it's just that the sprites aren't showing for whatever reason. It seems to be occurring at random, and SMAPI throws me some red when it happens.

Avis - this is happening during the save process between days, and based on the trace, it could be Love of Cooking. How long has this been happening (I ask because reverting to a previous save may be able to fix it)? And does it still happen if you remove LoC from your mod list?

@serene helm You need both - the seasonal pack is a patch for Farmers Portraits. Install it and see what happens. 🙂

the images will show up because the changes commanded by the content.json for the Seasonal Pack should edit that data

No worries - it can be complicated. In the main Farmers Portrait mod, replace the portrait png with your farmer's png
Then, in the Seasonal Farmer's Portrait mod, you would need to change the pngs in there as well as the backgrounds (if you choose to)

OH, my apologies, I was referencing my own mod version and I looked in the wrong file.
You would then only need to replace the pngs in the Seasonal Portraits mod

Name your version the same way as in the template. Then drag and drop. It will ask you if you want to keep both or replace. Choose replace. 😉
so for example drop my image and name it "portrait_fall.png"

If you drop it into the file, the OS will see it as a duplicate. It will ask you "Do you want to keep both" or "Do you want to replace?" Choose replace.
Provide a log for this, if you can.

Generic wild horse spawn is random and not guaranteed every day

NPC schedule parsing went berserk for a couple of ES folks. Did you load your backup save? Or do anything with the save file whilst troubleshooting?

Hmm. Well it appears something wonky happened there. You could try reinstalling ES, but you may have to remove it, play a day, and then add it back.

hey so i have been having an issue with stardew valley expanded villagers duplicating, i gave up trying to find a fix for it many many months ago when the issue arrised cause it didnt seem anyone had a fix.
Would anywhere here know what the fix might be now?
here is an example, and if I attempt to talk to any expanded villager one of the duplicates will just keep walking, and they will be out of sync
Setra - there have likely been many updates. I would recommend updating any mods that need them. But if you have Spritemaster, do not update to SMAPI 3.18.5 as Spritemaster will break.
My mods are fully updated
The updates do not help my issue, and they havent for months

Show Birthdays is duplicating sprites, which could be the issue. Try deleting it, playing a day, saving, and then reinstall it to see if that fixes the issue.

That shouldn't happen. When you say duplicating, do you mean "they're already duplicated" or "when I talk to them, they duplicate"

The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
Right, it was adding the change dialogues SVE & IFR2
it was .18 instead of .24 with the beta version that was cause of corruption

This may be a shot in the dark, but do you use Vortex or another mod manager?
realistically, the nuclear option is typing debug removenpc <NPC> once for each character
that's what I was going to resort to next...but I'm curious if somehow the SDVE's character file got duplicated.
if you do it more than once, it might delete the character and then they'll respawn with 0 hearts
(what's the opposite of eek! yikes? bazow?)
Only the SDVE extra characters are getting duplicated...
i would assume some sort of positive expression, since eek is negative

Ok. So do what Agent Lyoko recommended as the "nuclear plan" - open your SMAPI console window while you're in the game and input debug removenpc <NPC> where <NPC> is the character's name. You'll need to do this for Sophia, Andy, Susan, Victor, and Olivia.

Hi! This looks like a Fashion Sense bug. You could try removing FS & the FS packs you have, launching the game & seeing if your farmer's pants are still odd.

I have crafted 1pc of a modded machine but the rest of them seem to have different textures from the original. Frozen treat machine should look like with a green mantle (circle with blue). Where as when I place the item it turns different (circled with white on picture). What could be the cause and could I avoid it? (tried it on a new save and still the same)

Hi! Sorry for the late response, but I've done all the steps you detailed. First, I removed Love of Cooking from my mod list to check, and yes, the error was still happening. After, I tried reversing the save to an earlier date where I definitively didn't have the problem, but still nothing. I can reproduce the issue consistently by clicking "Exit to Title" and reloading, otherwise it happens at random. One thing worth to note is that this started after I updated Automate, CJB Cheats Menu, CJB Item Spawner and Spacecore yesterday.

I have a question. I'm not a mod maker but why would a mod maker migrate to 1.6? Is 1.6 now different from 1.5?
The upcoming 1.6 version of the game has a ton of changes that are meant to make modding easier for the mod developers

A lot of things are easier to do, some are made feasible now
And the beta is probably coming soon, and the devs may not want to double their work, first for 1.5.6, and then for 1.6
For example, I’ve stopped any (non-bugfix) 1.5.6 mod development and am in the middle of porting my mods to 1.6, so they will be ready right away

I've been playing today (with LoC) and everything seems to be stable, no red in the logs. I can still replicate the graphic glitch but it seems trivial to just... not do that lol

Honestly, I don't know. That's going to be up to you.
Now that I think about it, the error occurs/occured at the LevelUp menu, so you would likely have to revert to a saved game prior to a level up - you should have received new recipes but didn't. Since the patch is called by SpaceCore, you could search the mod's comments to see if anyone has reported a bug like this.

(Side note: Fall is for farm animals and romancing everyone in that file, apparently. We just made it there and we're speedrunning a barn for a truffle, and Claire/Abigail/Maddie's birthdays are all in Fall, and thanks to getting Farming 10 on Summer 28, Claire's sunflowers will now grow just in time for her birthday. I forgot how early game goes from "I don't have enough energy to water everything" to "oh shit I might have enough time to do everything" that quick)
(Then again, my brain melted back on my solo playthrough for the first three years, so I suppose I shouldn't be that shocked XD )

Save anywhere redux fixes some issues but any mod that messes with the save cycle is pretty high risk inherently
i like to think i'm pretty good at this little skill called "reverse engineering", so i can look around and figure out the stuff i need to for porting my mods, but the migration guide DOES include a lot of commonly used things that changed and how you should proceed to migrate

I'm so confused I used Portraiture and follow the guide (put all the portraits in portrait folder in portraiture), the option to change the portrait is there but it can't be changed. Any help?
Is there a work around to downloading SMAPI? I have a windows operating system and used steam to download the game. However, when I go to download SMAPI I get an error saying there is a missing file and it looks like my antivirus software deleted it. I turned off my antivirus and tried again but got the same result. Sorry if this has been asked before and I didn't see it!

Whenever I do events with custom characters that also have CGs my game skipps the eventCG. Recently I tried doing OpenFire's event and got this error:

I have alot of mods and I'm not sure which one is causing this.
that is a bug on the mod itself, most likely. That particular error is stating the OpenFire6EventsCG map does not exist.
You can give a log if you think it should be loaded, but I'm betting mod bug.

Yeah, this is expected. So here's the deal - your mods are incredibly fucked up right now
First up, your host needs to delete the Random NPCs folder inside Market Day, that doesn't work in multiplayer
- Content Patcher because you have multiple copies of this mod installed. To fix this, delete these folders and reinstall the mod: Mods\Content Patcher 1.29.3-1915-1-29-3-1687810857\ContentPatcher, Mods\Content Patcher 1.29.4-1915-1-29-4-1693176694\ContentPatcher.
Second, you need to delete one of your two Content Patcher folders so that mod loads
Third, you need to delete that Random NPCs folder from your own Market Day folder
if you do all that, your mods should start mostly loading. But mainly due to your double Content Patcher, every single extra NPC mod of yours is dying

Hey guys just wanted to ask a question about fashionsense, currently I'm making my own mod adding new clothes (dw im not asking about that) but when i preview both my outfits and others in fashionsense it seems to be a bit glitchy? And smapi isn't flagging anything as breaking either (e.g. no red text and I can play the game as normal) does anyone know how to fix this?
its just when previewing any clothes, the 2nd and 7th pictures ALWAYS have white sleeves on every page and the others always have whatever overlay colour that is picked, is this a problem with my specific modded version (e.g. mod conflicts) or just a fashionsense known bug?

Mod support for 1.5 on Android is still experimental, so many mods are broken or buggy. That's often something SMAPI needs to fix, and we may not be able to provide a fix yet.
If you find a mod bug on Android, first make sure that:
(a) you have the latest SMAPI version from https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/releases;
(b) you have the latest mod versions;
(c) and the mod author hasn't already addressed it on the mod page (e.g. via an Android-specific version or comments).
If all of those are true, feel free to ask for help in #archived-modded-support with your full SMAPI log: https://smapi.io/log.

Yes know that. It has a "stable" version now, but it does not work with most mods. Check in to see if there has been any updates to fix the issue. With my luck, won't happen until the next game release.

If I drop a folder with nothing in it into a file with another folder of the same name, the folder with no files will replace the folder 2

It works most of the time and if a mod breaks it can be reinstalled
Theyre not appearing on cjb either
mod authors actively put on their pages that deleting and reinstalling is just the better first route
why would you risk breakage when you can just take an extra second to do it efficiently
They must be glitched
