I don't know if it will help the not starting issue, but you'll want to delete and re-add Immersive Farm 2 as well (downloadable from the SVE files page)

You use SVE with IF2R which change standard farm. That's why farm extended won't work

Hi, I'm making my first mod (content pack with content patcher and unlockable bundles) and made a custom location and npc, the only thing is that the npc walks through thin air to get to pierre's shop on tuesdays when they're not supposed to until a bridge is fixed. I was wondering if there was a way to make a schedule for only a certain day and if a certain requirement is met. He also walks through a tree.
Also I would bet that would be an issue with your map but I'd refer to people in the proper section

When mod pages say to not use mod managers with Stardew Valley it just says that because Vortex sucks and not all mod managers are bad for this game? Like if I use Mod Organizer 2 I won't run into problems like someone would if they were to use Vortex?
no idea about Mod Organizer 2 tbh but if you want a mod manager that will definitely work for stardew, use stardrop

yes, because vortex was not made for stardew modding and often messes things up
Vortex also just seems bad in general, guides for games Vortex was made for like Skyrim say to never use Vortex

hey remember I was converting some hairstyle pngs? I don’t see em show up on the main character editor at the start of a new file, but the conversion guide I used was to turn them into json assets for Fashion Sense I think… that said, I’ll be able to change my hair using the hand mirror right?

no, they only have grandpa's farm and immersive, which are optional files. mostly every farm type, vanilla or custom, will work with sve.

oh boy, some mods are conflicting ig and idk what to do
so i just installed stardew valley expanded
i usually play with flower valley and starblue valley for recolors
when i opened the game, flower valley isn't working but starblue was
i removed starblue and flower valley worked again
i've never had problems with compatibility of the two before
any advice would be nice, since the medeval buildings for sve mod and medeval buildings for the farm both work, it's just flower valley for the buildings in town that's broken

Hey there friends, i'm having some trouble loading a new save... It starts loading what i understand as Custom NPC Exclusions and stays there forever. I even downsized my mod list, but it continues to do the same.
If I play online with mods (just furniture and decoration stuff) can the other players enter?

Yes, but it is generally advised that all players have the same mods. If you ONLY use visual mods that don't change anything else about the game, then other players should be able to play with you (though they won't see the same thing you see). But if they add new items to the game at all (or new NPCs, or new anything) then it cause problems if one player has the mods and the other doesn't. Best practice is for all players to have identical mod folders.
(Locals can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong; this is my understanding based on what others have said.)

Not in-built. If you give a log, we can see what the console's saying about the scene and if you have event repeater so you can emergencyskip
Now we are playing with the same mods, but my friends keeps struggling to get into the game :(, she gets the “connection lost” message sometimes and others her game quits. This is the first time we worked with mods :(, my game is just fine
Is your character physically stuck? One thing that helped me a lot when I had issues with conflicting mods was installing NoClip. Then if my character got stuck during a scene, I could hit F11 and walk through things.
I'm afraid I can't help you with this; maybe someone else here can.
It was a cutscene where Sebastian was smoking at night next to the lake. My character was (I assuming) supposed to walk up to him, but instead just kept walking off screen. I ended up having to hard quit out of the game. Bummer that I lost the day and have to restart.
Ugh, that sucks. It sounds like a map/event incompatibility between mods. I had that issue with a mod once where I couldn't even trigger the first scene because of a similar map problem. If you use something like SR3, you might see if temporarily removing it helps (though do not remove SVE; that will break your game!)

@honest pike I wouldn't think that one patch failing would cause nothing to work, but try setting that Alex setting to 6 and see if it works. That's the only issue I see on your log.

ok so i have my smapi log here, the mod im having issues with is called horse overhaul. none of the keybindings are working. I can't open up my horse friendship, feed it, or open the saddlebags. And I can't figure out why. you can see the error messages at the very end

the out of date mods are not out of date, I just downloaded them all in the past few days. As for Pytk, a lot of my mods require it so I'm just rolling with the slower loading times
!pytk you dont need it anymore btw, not unless you're using content patcher high res portraits. most mods just havent updated that in their description/requirements yet. but the frameworks that needed pytk no longer do, so youre free to delete it
The PyTK mod is now obsolete. You can delete it from your mods folder, and all your mods should be safe.
If you get an error saying you're missing PyTK, open the mod(s) manifest.json and change the PyTK dependency from true to false
i dont think thats whats causing ur issue with horse overhaul tho, im not sure what the problem is

i have a portrait mod, so would that mess with the portrait mod if i got rid of pytk?
and i just installed it today. one of the other mods might be interfering with it
i would try reinstalling it just to see if it works
the only reason i want it is because of the horse saddlebags. extra inventory space. But if theres an alternate mod that gives the horse some sort of storage mechanic i would happily uninstall horse oerhaul and install that one
if it's content patcher, yes. you can easily convert it to portraiture tho
or see if theres a portraiture version of it otherwise

yes, i mean, if it's a high res portrait that uses content patcher. you would know if it's high res because they don't look pixely, but hd
i dont think you have any though. either way you can take it out and see what happens with your portraits, you wont break anything if they dont look right

I'm really at a loss for why this is happening.. from the moment i wake up in bed there's terrible lag. the FPS says it hovers around 1-2.
When i have the menu open, it goes to around 20-30 FPS and i can move my cursor normally/smoothly. but in regular "game mode" it's stuck down in this lag and it's p much impossible to navigate.

hey, I'm kinda new to using smpai commands. I have unlocked the skull cavern a couple of weeks ago and I found a command where you can warp to 121+ level in the skull cavern.
The command is: world_setminelevel 121.

My game's started lagging v badly, to the point it's unplayable.
It first happened Fri night when i was trying to test things for a mod i was making and i Think that was b/c I'd had chrome browsers open while running/playing the game and toggling btwn tabs (i don't/can't do that normally).
Now whenever i load my save (it & game load fine) the lagging/stuttering occurs as soon as my farmer wakes up in bed. The frame rate shows as 1-2 on the Steam FPS counter. Nearly impossible to navigate/move around.
The worst happens whenever i enter the forest, which is concerning! the game just hangs and i cannot move my farmer at all or press buttons and my cursor also is frozen most of the time. Warping to another location doesn't fix this either... after i enter the "cursed" forest, it wrecks the game and i'm unable to do anything outside of console commands.
I hope not/don't think so but gotta ask if it's possible my mod had anything to do with this..??
(it's a simple Custom Companions mod that adds in a CC in the forest.) i don't really think it would cause this but i have no idea what's going on! there are No errors in SMAPI (outside of me messing up commands) /nothing pertaining to this problem AFAICS.

After many troubleshooting, I just found out that the "Even More Recipes" mod was the one causing this problem. I didnt want to remove this mod so I played around some files of the mod folder, which showed that the least API version requirement was v3.8. Is this actually true? does anyone know if I can include the mod with the BAGI pack without giving an error?
the game now runs smoothly with the BAGI mod pack if I remove the EMR mod, but i still do want to include the EMR mod.. do i have no choice but to remove it?

Hey guys, I tried to get SVE on my android, but It doesn't seem to work. I've downloaded SMAPI and have placed all of the mods needed into the mods folder, but when I run Stardew it's normal. Anyone know why this might be?

Anyone else having issues with Gwen’s buildings? Specifically the coops/barns. Every night my coop resets back to vanilla and I have to change it back. One other person mentioned having the issue.

There's an option to not have Ridgeside characters count toward the Introduction Quest in the Ridgeside configs.
So no need to uninstall 🙂
the total number of villagers in that quest is set when the game starts.. so even if you removed them then count will still say the old number, would have to use 'cheats' to beat the quest if you didn't want to meet that many people or couldn't due to removal.

Hey Atra, sorry for the ping, but I've run into a bit of a problem with your shovel mod. Basically, when I use it to remove the giant crops I have, it prevents the ground from being un-tilled and I've no idea what exactly is causing that. Here's a link to my old post detailing the same problem (#archived-modded-support message) with a few more error messages and here's (https://smapi.io/log/eab9011a42fd4b248c0fdfc8bbe3cd0c) a new log without them. Basically, I opened the save, spawned the shovel, removed the crops and ground became problematic. Everything works fine when I cut them down with the axe. Any ideas?

There's a setting in the GCM for ridgeside to turn on easier intro (or something similar). It will remove the requirement to meet all the ridgeside people to complete the quest.
this would leave ridgeside installed negating any issues about save states while still making the intro quest be significantly less overwhelming.

download the old 0.8.1 version.. place normally. download the english translation files.. extract somewhere else. in that folder is the main folder and copy that into your mods.. and make sure it overwrites the correct files

altough you can play with launch options/etc in steam.. you might find it easier to use stardrop mod manager. As you can then create different launch profiles with ease.

SMAPI 3.18.0 raised deprecation levels to the final stage, meaning SMAPI will now show yellow warning dialogues for mods with deprecated code. For the user, this just means that the mods have old code and will break in SMAPI 4.0 if they are not updated - it is not anything to worry about at this time. yep. what it looks like you gotta do is apply the global non-seasonal variant for anything not winter
two ways to do that
#1: delete most of the patch stuff, just have it patch assets/buildings/<cabin stuff here>.png
#2: Copy Log, Plank, and Stone Cabin assets into each seasonal folder except Winter (since there is a winter variant) and rename them <season>_<material>Cabin
(The assets to copy are in assets/buildings, if you're doing #2)

Generally, there are four usual mod managers used for Stardew.
- Vortex: Sucks. It might work, but in general 90% of the time a Vortex user comes in here it's a vortex problem.
- ModDrop: Right now probably unusable due to the SSL thing, but it's rare to see. I have no opinion on it personally, it also hasn't been a big problem here though so
- MO2: Way out of my knowledge base but apparently works... decently.
- Stardrop: Specifically designed for SDV, maintained by PeacefulEnd who is a very good modder. I still don't like mod managers, but this one's the best of em

okay so previously flower valley and starblue valley worked harmoniously, starblue making the game nice and cooltoned and flower valley making everything look so lovely
but now it seems starblue's everything is loading on top of flower valley, leaving me with this, where I can see bits of vines on roofs and the outlines of the flower valley trees

Hey, so my friend and I want to play SV with quite some mods - though for me everything works. I have a M2 MBA and he has a M1 MBA, but since we reloaded into the farm for him it’s buggy, he can’t see me, if he chops wood he can’t pick it up etc.
What could be the issue?

i fully expected a mod mismatch
i'd begin with getting rid of red text
SpriteMaster seems to be causing some trouble on both of your machines, or with this specific mod list
so unless you really need it, i'd ditch it
also "Never play NPC Adventures in multiplayer - It's not compatible! (Don't report this as bug)"
seems like you can also get rid of "Theft of the Winter Star", as it doesn't work correctly in multiplayer
what about SVE? it seems to throw errors as well
it looks fine, you just moved it around and kept an empty folder

Does anyone know about morris in stardew valley extended? I'm doing a community center route but I was wondering if i got his hearts high enough he would still come around like claire does. Because i know if you get claire past 6 hearts she'll come back to do aerobics with the other women in town. I was wondering if morris would also still come around after the community center is completeed

ok i may sound stupid for this and i may just be missing a step but i've downloaded smapi and i've unzipped a mod (and all its support needs mods) into the mods folder but they don't seem to be loading into the game? would love some assistance haha..

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). You also need to do that if you want to launch SMAPI through Steam
If you're double clicking on a shortcut or something, and you don't care about Steam achievements, you can ignore that part I believe

I know lots of mods are currently getting warnings about using deprecated code, and that it practically doesn't matter for non-mod makers right now.
But - curious if there's a list of mods we know will or won't get updated? or if there's any way to tell at all beyond guessing based on maker activity and how old the mod is.

Ok so I feel like the answer is prob obvious, but modding on my Mac always gives me trouble compared to my desktop - anyways ~, SMAPI won't run any of the mods I have installed - it just reads it as zero mods and starts the game, even though I have my mods copied and pasted exactly to the folder where it says they should be

But even just from a basic standpoint of having programmed Nightbot commands on Twitch I know "Alias" meant "yeah this is pointing to something somewhere else"

The thing that gets me more about it is that the main SMAPI mods are alias'd too
Like... that makes me think there's some automatic process aliasing it and then I have to go
searched up how to find the originals, you go to the “File” menu with the alias selected, then choose “Show Original”
or rightclick and select "show original", or select the alias and press command + R
I did that and then it said the original file cant be found 😭
