@twilit fiber You could add the quest back using a debugging command. You'll need to find the quest ID that correlates with the one you're talking about; Open the smapi box console, and then you'd type "debug quest (questID)" ......or it maybe "debug quest(questID)" without a space. try both. Pretty sure the ID would be 130, since I looked it up. Use CJB item spawner to bring back the photo you threw away. Hello I'm having problem with modded stardew valley. Problem is I can't save the game after aurora vineyard repaired.
I was having that issue too, except it was saying something about olivia not having a path in the stardew expanded mod

If you didn't save again after the festival day, you can undo the last save: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Undo_the_last_save. Otherwise I suggest restoring a backup of the save before it happened (see steps under "If the files are missing but you have SMAPI installed"): https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Save_disappeared_or_doesn.27t_load. I don't recommend trying to repair the save, it'll be very difficult to restore every flag that was removed.
(And I don't recommend using debug commands unless you really need to; they're meant for dev testing and aren't always very player-friendly.)
So I waited till the NPC Emet Selch got an update and dl'd the latest version. Didn't touch any of his maps this time. It loaded fine and the first event triggered.

Why would a custom map need to have the vanilla tilesheets in it - or else crash??
Usually they're not included in the maps files but if they are they can be disabled to allow for recolor compat. But it doesn't seem like this mod tolerates that at all 😶
Ok- thank you so much for answering me!!!! .....I unfortunately did save over it. I ended up having to go back and use an old save file. It took me back like nearly a month in-game and I had to do an immense amount of work in order to catch up back to where I even was......
I typically only use smapi commands to warp to characters and that's usually it.

SMAPI commands are generally safe, but debug calls the game's built-in debug commands (which were meant for the original game devs to test stuff, not for players to use). So those can be a bit tricky.

which i dont understand because i've had no errors about being out of ram. it shows i have over 8gb of ram available, and everything was fine yesterday.

yeah i do know a lot of my memory gets used by background apps, but its all the windows or nvidia crap i can't close. its at 70% right now just sitting on desktop with discord and my mod folder open. disc is currently using 257 MB and my windows explorer (files) is using another 250 MB of memory right now, everything else is like "windows service host", nvidia stuff and razer stuff and i get errors when i try to force stop a lot of them.
fps is usually more tied to CPU/GPU usage instead of memory

is it safe to make a new save for just testing that everything works fine mod wise? im gonna take this time to just remove everything and add what i want back selectively since i know there's bound to be some mods in there i dont want anymore, especially furniture. i know its not a good idea to add new mods to an actual progressing save but shouldn't have issues when doing it solely for testing?

i would be so annoyed. i dont even think the experience bars mod by spacechase will add that. usually if i have something weird like this happening i go into my mods folder and search for something that could come up, like "experience bars" or "fishing" and see if i can find the file location/which mod is causing it. you could always try doing that! the mod would probably have to have that in its assets so i would think there would be a picture of the XP bar somewhere within a mod assets folder
^ i could be wrong about the XP bars mod not doing it, i've never had that mod but from the images on nexus it doesn't look like it does that

I'd like some advice for mod management support. There is one mod that I'd like to run situationally, Crops Anytime Anywhere, as it breaks the seasons. Is there any way to easily have to disabled besides messing with the mods folder?

if you're using a mod manager like stardrop you should be able to disable and enable it whenver
unless it's simply in overgrown flowery interface lol
otherwise you can rename the folder to have a . in front or use mod groups

for multiplayer troubleshooting you need to post logs from all players involved

So, when you go to leave the farm, you should be at the bus stop, right? You get hit with a very brief "Loading" and a black screen that doesn't go away

Recommend removing that folder from within the Market Day folder
they literally never buy anything anyway
I always see them floating over the river and it scared the shit out of me the first time
my issue from earlier was fixed by removing RSV, which sucks. i didnt realize more stuff and a new npc was added to RSV in the update the other day so thats the only thing i could think of to remove that would be big enough and now i dont have any red text walls or problems! ill just have to wait to play with RSV until i get more ram or am willing to remove SVE lol.

yes, i had a ram problem causing content patcher to not be able to load files, so like all of a sudden my overgrown flowery interface wouldnt load. it wasnt an issue with npcs or anything. i closed my game and re-opened it and the same thing happened with a mod that changes the wedding arch, and then again with a water recolour lol.

i said the thing that fixed my ram issue was removing RSV instead of removing a bunch of others i removed the biggest mod.
i never said RSV caused my issue or had one !

That's what your first log tells me. Just before the error hits as you connect it states you are connecting over a peer world. You can check the log's trace to see what I mean

Try revert back Custom Furniture version (to 1.13), yeet all custom furniture you've placed, update Custom Furniture and place the furniture back. Iirc that error is caused by Custom Furniture update

Hey there friends, am currently struggling with the HD Portraits mod. I'm only familiar with the Portraiture mod so am unsure of what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong folder?
Installation for HD portraits doesn't use the same steps as Portraiture. It needs to be like a content pack.
I figured I should be able to see the HDPortrait mod in my mod config menu, but maybe not if I haven't gotten to the portrait file yet. I'm trying to use the RSV Anime Portraits mod

Hello! I'm having trouble with SVE coop corrupting saves. My grandma and I play on steamdecks and often when she exits her game and loads in coop the farm is reverted to base. The fix I've been able to use so far to recover is to sync her files to my pc with the steam cloud and delete the farm save files and rename the _old versions to remove that tag and sync it back to her. I'd like to get to the root cause.

there is a box of parnsips in her now unupgraged house
the farm outside is how you would expect for day 1
is the actual day in the game day 1?
this might be an issue with steam save sync or something else
nothing in SVE should be doing this, in particular
sometimes i think? she should be in year 6 and when she steps outside the game tries to give her a dog
so it thinks its past day 1 at least
all her skills and wallet items persist
I'm not sure we can debug this without more info (a log, a specific trigger you've noticed), but I can recommend Advanced Save Backup to get even more saves backed up

This also isn't a super common issue, people do report it on and off (I think even with just the vanilla game), but usually attribute to a glitch or it can be traced back to Steam sync issues
so it's a little unusual that you get it regularly
yeah I wouldnt be surprised if this is a very niche case. I doubt many people are running modded stardew coop on steamdecks
It might also be something related to user habits, she usually plays throughout the week by keeping the game loaded and just tapping the powerbutton to pause the game
Is it always the exact same day/save conditions when it happens?
If it's always the same, I almost wonder if there's some "old save" wandering the cloud and being forcibly synched in every so often

I'm still getting the red error that says AnS failed in the ...save update loop (something like that). It otherwise seems to function but I know there is something wrong.
I think it may be b/c I very ignorantly loaded a "fake" co-op game with myself a few weeks back not realizing AnS is Not MP friendly.
My farm animals are mostly BFAV and after that screw-up they got a bit jumbled. I sold off the obviously "wrong" animals, but now I think I need to sell all of my existing farm animals that are BFAV "updates" of the default animals.
Also play with Animal Husbandry Mod and I've had it since the start of this save (now in winter yr 1) and the mail for the insemination syringe tool was [re]triggered yesterday after I replaced some barn animals. Makes me think the game forgot about the adult animals in my barns/they all got corrupted so AHM thinks it's starting over

Are you getting this error during/just before saving?
I got something similar like that but I figured it was because I adopted an animal while Marnie (physically) wasn't tending to her shop.
I have a mod that makes it possible to use her shop while she's out, so I figured that may be the reason why I got that error. I've avoided the error thus far by only adopting animals while she's tending the stop

Stardew Valley Expanded is compatible with other expansions such as Ridgeside Village, East Scarp, Downtown Zuzu City, Boarding House, and Mineral Town!
So, relatively new to stardew modding, but not tech illiterate. I've downloaded all of these mods and their dependencies, and am able to launch the game with smapi, but if I create a new farm it'll immediately deadlock upon either selecting 'skip opening cs' and hitting ok, or after the opening cs completes if it is not selected.
I assume that means some of them are not compatible. Is there a list of compatible gameplay expansion mods that's commonly used/recommended? My goal is to add as much new content as possible to the same playthrough.
Unfortunately, the actual issue is that stardew takes a year and a half to create a new save if you have too many maps/npcs
so either walk away and don't touch it for up to fifteen minutes, or if not that, remove any one of the expansions
it's not worth trying to run every expansion at the same time, you will probably see lag/frame drops all the bloody time
It's not deadlocking, Stardew basically does not thread. It just takes ages

Yup. I've seen it take fifteen bloody minutes to create a new save with two expansions
There may also be errors in your modlist, but that is less likely. If you've downloaded SVE, Ridgeside, ES, DTZ, BH, and Mineral Town? Long-ass load time is probably it

In the past I've tried to poke around at it (in particular, by preventing the game from reloading certain sprites if the player isn't around to see it) but it didn't seem to help much
if movement is checking every moving object against every other moving object with no scoping, that's not a rendering cost but it'd still expand exponentially with mods
reloading sprites(do you mean textures?) shouldn't really be needed in the first place, the game isn't big enough to run out of vram..

unless they're doing something really silly like rendering offscreen, the graphics themselves should cost next to nothing
I'm pretty sure rendering offscreen doesn't happen, but loading textures in and out of the gpu that aren't relevant does happen, I'm just not quite sure how to put a stop to that, lol
but if every game object updates in real time, that gets expensive really quickly, as opposed to leaving things like machines/chests to perform a single batch check when entering their region
would depend how much of the game has already been reverse engineered, which i'm guessing is substantial seeing how many features smapi has

uhh so I tried asking for help the other day but I think it just got lost in the messages. my game glitches whenever I try to do the flower dance festival. like I'll walk into the forest and I can hear the music and my smapi has no immediate errors pop up and says the villagers are glad I'm there. but I see nothing but myself and the trees and am unable to leave the area

You can delete PyTK. I'm not sure about your flower dance issue but the PyTK is dead now
And Divine Decor you can update for AT. The 1.0 one is for CF according to mod page. Unless there's a wrong manifest version

I've just encountered a problem with Json Assets in multiplayer. The latest versions promise to have got rid of assets shuffles. So I updated it for my farmhand and myself. She had her assets shuffled, and I didn't. How does it happen if the multiplayer session is run from my save? Is there a way I can send her the assets' IDs from my computer?

There's two separate issues: shuffle, which is "changing your JA mods, causing assigned IDs to become incorrect", and multiplayer mismatch, which is what you have.

I think the most amusing one I found was once where vortex just....didn't deploy ONE ja item

The two just conflict. You would be able to run mods that need custom NPC fixes without it By removing the requirement in the manifest

PYTK shouldn't be necessary for mods now anyway,and it slows the game the heck down.

the game will always load with three base mods no matter what with SMAPI. So there are too many possibilities here to go through, so it'd be simpler for a definition

I downloaded xnb files from NAVER to replace sprites in-game and I replaced them in the correct paths but no change appears in game, the sprites are still the base game ones. Not sure what to do

hi this is a dumb question and im aware but what file launches sdv with smapi on linux?? it was working before when i opened it on steam but it isnt anymore (smapi isnt even trying to open so no error log) and when i google it it says to launch directly from the file but all i can find is a .exe file and im on linux! 🤔 pls help
If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text).
