it's mod that can slightly improve performance and it comes with resampling. but if you don't like the way game looks, turn off resample on spritemaster config using gmcm

Which I'm assuming the Orinothologists Guild had was at least one custom NPC, when I removed the mod mid playthrough. What should I do?

I can't remember if it matters to save (just immediately sleep in the bed) that day or not, in this matter.

once you use mod on save and sleep (save the game), that save will become modded save and can't be played in vanilla if that mod is like SVE that add new things to sdv

SVE itself can cause lag if the pc can't handle
and there is a way to limit spawns that might cause SVE lag

Iirc, you can turn a modded save into vanilla. Don't know if it's still usable in 1.5 stardew but back in 1.4:
- I used to remove mods in bulk mass to fix a savefile (including SVE, entire PPJA, etc)
- Then used Reset Terrain Features Mod to reset everything
- Save
- Did some snipping in the savefile
- Save again
- Then load that save in Vanilla
Iirc, the one causing the crash when you load from Modded into Vanilla is that Vanilla Stardew doesn't cope well with anything that is outside of the map.

You should probably shy away from using Auto Updaters. Just a month ago, MARGO mod released an update that erases its entire mod data.

Maybe also another thing: You don't necessarily have to update mods the day SMAPI tells you that there is an update (unless them causing issues). You can also do something like "Update-Day" on a regular basis. 🤷♀️

Before starting a new game is always a good time. I know it can be "annoying" if it's a lot of mods, but not all mods area updated like every week. And when you're done it'll be fine for a while.
That's referring to next SMAPI major update and not to PYTK update.

I'm referring to PYTK occasionally breaking, crashing, and lagging your game. Specifically, update 1.18 and 1.20 where it was responsible for turning your 60fps into a crawling 10fps.
And at some point, even corrupted my save.
Oh. I never used PyTK as I heard it can cause performance issues. 
Pytk and SpaceCore combination in 2018-2020 was a force to be reckoned with lmao... To the point there were multiple "Unofficial Updates" to both mods just to stop the lag and save corruption.
That was before my SDV time. And nowadays there are alternatives for PyTK and some of the "older" things that work better with the game. But that's how development works: First method is about "does it work?" and later ones are about "working better than the original attempt". 🤷♀️

Hi ok so I think this is the right channel? So I just got a new pc, my old one I updated to windows 11 and it sucked but my new one is windows 10, so I was downloading my mods 3-4 at a time with SMAPI and it wouldn’t work. Whenever I tried opening a save or starting a new game it would crash or freeze. I went into properties and changed beta to 32 but and now I can play without mods but I really rather play with mods. Is there anything I can do to change this?

If you have sizeable amount of mods and it freezes just wait a bit when you start the game or load a save without clicking anything, a lot of the time it solves the problem

Maybe different question: Why are you using legacy? Does the vanilla game not work and crash or do you mean a modded game causing issues with lag and crashes? 
I’m assuming legacy is 32 bit, but it would crash whenever I tried to load a save or start a new game without being on legacy. But on legacy I can at least access the game, idk someone told me it would help

Yes. If you've 32 bit Windows you've to use legacy as stated in the link above because SMAPI is for 64bit. Otherwise it would be necessary to maintain 2 SMAPI and 2 versions of lots of mods for 0.1% of the players.

They wont because there's no SMAPI for legacy.
To be honest: I'm surprised that they still sell pc's with 32bit for win 10.

Implemented in version 1.5.5, MonoGame is the latest framework that Stardew uses, and was implemented to solve problems such as Memory limits and audio issues. Unfortunately, MonoGame has a bug which affects random computers, not allowing them to launch Stardew. This bugs randomly targets computers, regardless of your operating system or hardware and is out of ConcernedApe's control. There is currently no known fix. See !legacy or !legacymodding for how to get your game to work.

Your pc is fine. The question is if you have that bug which would mean "no mods" or if it's something else. No idea sorry. 
It’s alright. I know I can open the game with 64 but I just can’t start the new game or enter an old one. I’m gonna try deleting the saves again

Steam? Disable Steam cloud for SDV if that's active (to prevent Steam from downloading anything from there). Move your savegames "somewhere else" (desktop or wherever), uninstall the game through steam, delete the game folder in steam/steamapps/common (Steam won't do that), check AppData\Roaming for a StardewValley folder and delete that too if it's still there. And then reinstall the entire game "normal version". Don't move your savegames back and don't install anything. Just start SDV and check if you can start a new game. That's basically all you can try. 🤷♀️
I never tried deleteing Stardew from the steam file so I’ll try that

Hi! The underlying game framework is failing when it tries to find the audio device. If you launch the game without SMAPI (but still using Voicemeeter), does the sound work fine?
To the person who just asked about [JA]Yako's small pure white skirt errors but deleted their message: it looks like the files for that mod are missing. Not sure how it happened, but deleting and reinstalling that mod should fix it.

For those errors, looks like the folder is protected or the files are locked. Just to make sure, does it still happen if you restart the computer (which will reset all file locks) and then try it again?

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

i just considered something that i want to ask about - i had PYTK installed previously and i know it alters game file and can cause corruption. would it be worth it to fully uninstall the game and mods and then reinstall everything? or could it just be an error in the game?
Nope, that should be fine. PyTK doesn't change the actual game files on disk, so it has no effect on the game after it's uninstalled (though a particular save could theoretically be changed).

(I looked up Voicemeeter issues with Stardew Valley and found... an old bug report where I helped someone with it. Sadly the original fix doesn't apply, since both the game and SMAPI are marked LargeAddressAware now.)

but since they’re both marked with it that’s more of a dead end
It's essentially just a flag set on the executable/DLL, which tells the system that it's able to handle more than 2GB of memory even if it's a 32-bit app. The game and SMAPI are 64-bit now though.
i also tried downloading the 3D audio program listed on the wiki but i’m unsure of how to apply it or if it’s even working 🙃
maybe i just try reinstalling voicemeter - it’s been kinda funky lately anyway so a clean reinstall should help it on a general basis and hopefully will help this issue

The error is happening very low-level, so I don't think there's anything we can change in SMAPI or the game code to handle it. So it's likely something in Voicemeeter (e.g. see if there's any settings that might help) or MonoGame. Not sure how tied you are to Voicemeeter, but looking at alternatives could maybe be an option too.
i'm a bit partial to voicemeeter because i can do so much with it + i utilize it a lot when i stream. ||that and i paid for it 🙃|| having an elevated computer audio of a game and being able to turn your friends down when in a vc all at once is primo and i recommend it for anyone who is easily overstimulated by sound.
i wonder if i still run into this issue after reinstalling vm if i should reach out to their developers and try and figure out the issue. it's also possible that it's compatible with banana and not potato, which is the client i use
That's fair. If you're able to find a solution, I think it'd be worth adding a comment to that old SMAPI ticket since it's one of the top results for the issue.

It came out of nowhere when I changed some stuff in another mod, fixed itself though for some reason

I have a question. When I launch the game through steam nothing has changed
Oh and another odd thing is now whenever I right click stardew in the library and go to properties, the window that pops up wouldn't close unless I quit steam altogether
it's because you only install lookup anything, no mods that change UI. but when you are in your farm, you can use lookup anything by hovering the cursor then press F1 on your keyboard

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

if you want to change the hotkey, open your game. if you installed gmcm you should see a cog wheel on the left bottom corner of your start screen

No worries. Just make sure that if you install new portraits, that it goes into the Portraiture mod folder and not on its own.

All fine. And when you start the game without SMAPI the issue is the same? 
Just use Stardew Valley.exe in your game folder (if it's windows). That will start the game without mods.

It's basically adjusting numbers as it seems.
It adds a custom spouse area for Zoro. But it uses the coordinates of the standard farm. Where the area is in the area where the tile on the building layer is missing on their map.

Hi. I've the tractor mod by pathoschild installed in my game and I also tried the installation of the visual mod of the garage made by Gweniaczek. For some reason the visual mod that changes the appearance of the garage don't work with the garage of the tractor. Some one knows that mod and how to fix it?
