in the folder of wheres its modded there should be a folder named "stardewvalleymoddingAPI" or something you should click on that

no luck i try to move all mods except cjb cheat menu sorren tmxl content patch and pytk but he still didn't show up
it seems like smapi didn't read his main mods
the only mod that smapi read is his festival location and the spous room
to try sorren original itself you only need Content Patcher mod (+3 mod that comes by with smapi installation). it will showed up under Content Patcher in log. unless you also add festival location and spouse room mod, you also need txml

Hey, trying again because I didn't get a response last night.
I recently started to mod SDV for the first time & have encountered an issue where my background music doesn't play at all, but I do get all other sounds. Vanilla BGM is working fine. My current suspicion is that I did something incorrectly with SAAT & the SDV Expanded mod, but the log parser indicates that everything is working fine. Not sure how to fix

Hello! May I have some help? :3 My Grampleton farm mod is not working, I cant get to that map. I have the expanded mod and every other mod that is needed but for some reason that extra map is not available, my character walk into a wall at the end of the road.

When two mods both edit dialogue or images, whichever mod loads last "wins" and is the one you see in the game. I have what might be a dumb question lol. I'm having to update a bunch of mods that have released updates in the past year, and I noticed some of them say "if updating delete old files first do not just overwrite".
Why is this? I don't have a lot of computer technical knowledge, but I thought overwriting would replace everything that needs replacing? Or is there a potential for like, old outdated files not in the update to still be present and cause problems or something?
I assume it's because some modders change the way their mods work and to avoid incompatibilities and issues with old files they tell you to remove them instead
If the file structure changes, it will get messed up if you overwrite

Suppose they have a subfolder named [cp] maps stuff and they rename it to [cp] cool maps
Suddenly you have duplicates if you overwrite

Some mods might just reject it, some might replace it with the default

It's not just configs, I don't think. IIRC I have some character sprite/art replacements, which, yeah I can just save them elsewhere and replace them after reinstalling the mods lol

Ok so here's a weird one - Mermaid Island wasn't working for me so I removed it, however the day after was Madam's birthday - so I got the standard error handling message that something was removed, however I believe the Statue of Endless Fortunate was already set to make an item for her - so this happened:

can someone please help me! I have tried everything I can to figure this out and I'm getting no where at all. I want to play SDVE with the Grandpa's farm mod but no matter what I do it won't work. It says I need the updated version but I have it but It shows up in my mod folder yet not in my smapi file? I just want to be able to edit what a few shops have for sale without having to create an entirely new mod. I was trying to use Shop Expander, but encountered an issue, so I asked for help in #modded-stardew and people kept telling me to use Shop Tile Framework. But IDK how to use that to add some items to shops and no one else will tell me how to use that one, besides "make the mod yourself" which is just not helpful at all.
I want to have Krobus sell lucky rings, Marnie sell auto-petters, and Pierre sell all the sprinklers and pressure nozzles. Can someone here pretty please help me do that without me having to learn how to create a mod myself?

Shop tile framework is a framework mod, the only way to interact with it is to create a content pack for it. I'll look at Shop Expander, never heard of it before.

There are several mods that claim to do this already. I was asking for help with one of them, Shop Expander, and was told to use Shop Tile Framework instead. I asked how to use that one and was told that I'd have to make the mod myself???
...I am not 100% sure Shop Expander is working/generally compatible, last updated 2019 not a good sign

I'm trying to set up the Shop Expander mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2278) where Krobus will sell lucky rings. My config file looks like this.
It is almost working, Krobus is indeed selling lucky rings. But when I buy one from him, I can't equip it, and the description of the ring he sells doesn't have the luck buff in the little window when you mouse over the item.
Can someone who is better at mods please help me figure out what is going wrong?
So do you know how to make rings work with this mod? Would that be a thing I could do? Or will I have to find another mod just for the lucky rings?
You almost certainly can't fix this mod—you would need to write custom C# within a framework someone else wrote

Basically, if a mod correctly foresaw that rings would be a problem and wrote some code to fix them, then it handles rings correctly, otherwise it won't work
I don't want to spawn the rings through a cheat menu. I just want a reliable way to get more lucky rings in-game. The only way to get them IIRC is panning or Skull Cavern barrels, both of which are too RNG dependant for my tastes. But thank you for the suggestion

I have issue with connections
Yesterday we installed Smapi, SVE + dependencies and played almost whole night without ANY troubles.
Today my friend can see my farm on CO-OP menu but have "connection failed " whole time. When we reverted game to Vanilla it worked normally. But after Uninstall and again fresh install + SMAPI + SVE + dependencies its not working.
It is possible that we something broke while playing? SMAPI informs us about Spacecore that its have Save serializer but its mandatory to run SVE

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.
when you load the game, click on the cog wheel in the title menu, find vpr and do what nicole said

Looks like you have an Xnb mod which isn't recommended in this day and age.
for example in the error logs it says this: [CP] Ridgeside Village\Assets because it's an empty folder.
i go to check this folder and its not empty, it has all the stuff in there so i'm not sure why its coming up as empty.

So mod creators, do you think that your mods will have to be majorly rewritten to work with the new mobile update?
If it's part of RSV itself then reinstall it. If it's a portrait, it's probably a replacer.

It's a replacer, while technically you can use it it's generally not recommended.
Plus you run the risk of having other hairstyles be invisible so, double edged sword lol.
You can probably check the comment section in that page to see any unofficial conversions anyone made.

Hey everyone, I was playing Stardew with my friend and upon reaching Winter, we both encountered a lot more lag / framedrops & delays on basic things like opening chests... There are no errors, but I can send the log if needed so you can see my mods. There is nothing overriding anything and there is no real reason as to why this should be happening as I (the host) don't have a bad internet connection as of now (and nor does he). Let me know if this is something that anyone has encountered before

Hello, I have attempted to run the RSV mod multiple times now with it failing. I redownloaded after deleting the entirety of the mod and still there's an error. I am not sure how this can be fixed. it's just the base mod, not a portrait thing or whatever. It says the assest folder is empty but when i check in it, its full of all its intended stuff. im using the up to date mod for this, the one titled with hotfix.

@lament prairie I found the issue. Folder structure went mod>characters>Characters>needed files which meant either the first character was mispelt or if there are two folders it will only check the first. Didn't realize I had a folder inside the other of the same name. Working now

You have an extra folder—I suspect a portrait replacer gone wrong
[CP] Ridgeside Village\Assets (from Mods\[CP] Ridgeside Village\Assets)... this is the extra one that's causing the error
Ridgeside Village (Content Patcher component) (from Mods\Ridgeside Village\[CP] Ridgeside Village) [content pack]... this is the real one, it's loading up just fine
If you have a portrait mod that tells you to drag and drop replace on top of Ridgeside, that would be one possible cause of having something like the 1st problem
either way, delete the first one and the error should stop happening

Something that doesn't necessarily change the whole game, and only your side of it. For example, if you have a hair mod that replaces the vanilla ones.

If it replaces the vanilla ones, he'd see the vanilla hair while you see the modded one. If it's a custom hairstyle that isn't a replacer, you'd be bald in his eyes lol.
I am having crash issues, just recently cut back on a huge amount of mods, including spacecore. My game cannot get through a single day without crashing, It did this before I deleted the mods too.

Hello, I have another issue. I think it's a conflict between HD portraits and the travelling merchant? In SMAPI it gives like 10 errors at once starting with "[HD Portraits] An error occurred attempting to load portrait override @ 'Mods/talkohSVEasonal/Suki':

use just one copy, preferably the screenshot one. delete the one that one onedrive if you don't need it. then change launch option on steam

If you're using Steam or GOG on Windows, you will need to set your launch options in order for Steam/GOG to automatically launch with SMAPI. The SMAPI installer will tell you what to set as the launch options when it completes (green text). i use smpai, upon launching the game with coii's stuff in my mods folder the launcher tells me that the mod has an issue thus will not apply, and its not due to missing mods that compete with it. can i have help?

Hey, I have a modded playthrough where im running mostly SVE and related mods and I'm trying to catch the crimsonfish. It's summer, sunny, fishing level 8 but I haven't had any luck and I have the F1 details mod (I forgot the name of it) which tells me the requirements for catching the fishes and it tells me it's not summer. I don't know if it's that mod glitching or something is bugging the crimsonfish

Can someone help me figure out how to get SMAPI working with steam? I've been playing on mobile for years, and the wiki instructions don't work

i redirected it to my unpacked tilesheets to see the tiles and i don't know how to put the path back
you have to make a tilesheets folder and drop all the tilesheets there
inside the mod folder
i learned this the hard way
it's literally just the vanilla tilesheets lol rip
yeah, idk why it does that i dont rly understand the message, thats just what i did and it worked
and then u have to open tiled again and redirect the tilesheets to the correct paths

also it turns out that there IS a pet bowl asset but it's not replacing correctly for sm reason

also you're missing aedenthorn walls and floors
check the uhhh the tmx file, if u right click and edit it in notepad++, you can see the file source
delete all pathing prior to the png
and then it should b ok. theres something on the wiki for this

is anyone using modded bags for the "item bag" mod? I installed it just fine, pasted the modded json files where they should be, and all item bags show up at Pierre's, but only the vanilla ones have actual slots inside them. I can purchase the modded ones, but they are completely blank, there are no slots where I can put items. I just checked the content of one of the json files, and it looks just fine.

is this after you try to leave ur farm?
this is the only thing i can suggest, since there's no errors to speak of Found MSI Afterburner installed, which may conflict with SMAPI. If you experience errors or crashes, try disabling that software or adding an exception for SMAPI and Stardew Valley.
