ok so game doesnt like smapi much, and i have no idea why. i had an old version of smapi installed, since i havent played in a while. theres a new smapi update, i direct download it from the site, run the installer, uninstall and then reinstall, and now this is happening. resolution was perfectly fine on the old smapi, and i cant find a setting for the life of me to fix it. any ideas?
Limey is correct.what it's trying to do is pull from the schedule strings of mr ginger but you deleted that mod

As long as you can replicate it with running the game without SMAPI, ask in #vanilla-tech-support

Having weird inventory rows issues again, tho it was mostly fixed before
(I downloaded the BB when it posted an update last, but not sure if I even had it going at the time. Feel like I deleted after aquir8ng an even bigger Backpack

when i go into a solo game i have 67 npcs and i can go to east scarpe n stuff, but im supposed to have 76 npcs and in multiplayer i cant go to east scarp or expanded houses
and in multiplayer it says 76 npcs
this isn't the same log with all the errors. But it might just be mismatched mods, can you get the person you're playing multiplayer with to send a log too?
Medi is right. if you can access East Scarp in singleplayer but not multiplayer, I will almost guarantee you have mismatched mods

That's a hallmark sign of it. Give us your host's log, or if you are host, your farmhand's. (I assume you are farmhand)

just to note, once you have got past the first day, no matter how many NPCs you add. the introductions quest will remain the same. One of the conditions to be in that quest is to exist on day 1.

if that's just a *.desktop shortcut you can set the icon it uses by editing it in a text editor
when I said *.desktop I meant the actual *.desktop file as in mything.desktop... if you try opening it in a text editor you'd see something like this:

well you should be able to edit it manually in a text editor and just change the icon to the location of the image you want
probably is a graphical way of right/clicking etc but as I don't have GNOME I can't see the steps

Hi! I was wondering if I'm able to get mods on a Chromebook? All the things I've seen have been for windows or MacOS.
answer to that is, it's complicated, depends also if it's arm-based or x86_64 based. Also depends how powerful your chromebook is, not really built for heavy modding and a lot of stardew mods do use up resources.

it is, but in general you'd want to put all your stuff in one area so you don't have crops being grown on the water

That part's a little complicated. I think the Waffle method should work for moving to any farm thing, but not sure

so first in smapi type debug set_farm_type list
you can do that part now, it'll tell you what the ids for each farm are

so, from what I'm reading, in theory if you wanted to swap to the riverland farm, you'd type debug set_farm_type 1
if you're swapping to a custom farm type, check to figure out what map it's replacing or if it's a new one what the farm type ID thing is

Waffle is indeed very cool. You can swap to WaFF or if you want more space WaFFLE with that farm
but obv if you want a vanilla farm you can do that instead!

correct! if you replace the farm you started on, then the mod would automatically replace it and change your farm

Well, there are several problems then
first, I don't know what you downloaded installer-wise, but your computer isn't allowing you to access the inside of the folder. i'd redownload to a different location

Then you probably should access the admin account, unzip the folder from there, then toss it in your non-admin account's folder.
That said, do not run the SMAPI installer as admin

I mean your computer has a drive, and within it is "users"
as admin, you can see all users. Even non-admin ones, in there. put it in one of the folders - I dunno, videos or something? - in the user folder for the non-admin account

I'm really new to modding SDV in general so I was wondering what could be the cause for so much lag and difficulties loading the game. Currently I'm up to date with the newest SMAPI update, same goes to the SDV version, I have unstalled a lot of mods to see if my gaming performance improves but there isn't much to it. All the mods I have are up to date too

Ah, the graphics card being an integrated one is probably part of it, as is Stardew Valley Expanded, as that's taxing on a system
Since you don't have PyTK (which is good) I think I can really only recommend you...

SpriteMaster (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922) is a mod that resamples the game's graphics to be smoother and improves performance.
You can disable resampling to turn off the graphical changes
But that should allow you to use all the mods, even the ones you removed, without as much of a slowdown

Ye so when u take a screenshot in the settings bit on mac it will make the sound but do nothing else and won't show a destination folder button this is in singleplayer on the 1.5.6 I think it has been like this for a while so idk maybe it cant be fixed but I thought I would put this here ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I downloaded the content patcher for mobile and it's not working this is the error

visual mods should work, but otherwise in general everyone needs the same mods

Still having issues during the night screen scenes, although the game moves more smoothly for now, but I can barely make to three nights in the game without crashing(the program exited this time, and my computer runs normally otherwise). I use Windows/Steam(and I just updated the mods that still needed an update)....

Heyyy, so I booted up SMAPI after like a week and a half of not playing and for some reason, it loaded up REALLLY slow. It took about 30 minutes to open Stardew Valley and load everything, and even after it did Stardew was way too slow and laggy to play. I haven't faced this issue before, it happened out of the blue, normally it loads up in 15 seconds and runs totally fine. Wondering if anybody could help me troubleshoot. Here's the log!

I did but that can be caused from a variety of things - the main one being mods that aren't up to date
The error is with extra map layers, it can't find a file called z_beach. I'm assuming there's a problem with your Stardew Expanded installation.

And since your SVE isn't up to date... Update it and the rest of your mods and see if that fixes it.
the z_beach tilesheet is from my mod
i've renamed it multiple times but for some reason it started doing that.

Okay, so, two things. One, Better Farm Animal Variety isn't loading because you have it installed twice in different places. Delete the folder "Paritee's Better Farm Animal Variety" to fix that.
Second, you don't have Error Handler. This is not good, because it's supposed to protect your game from crashing the moment it encounters a problem, protecting you from crashes on minor errors. To fix this, please update your smapi. (Download the installer from Nexusmods or smapi.io and run it, just like you did when you first set it up.)

Aside from that, I'd remove Custom Furniture since you don't have any content packs for it.
You're not deleting smapi, you're only updating it. And no, updating smapi won't remove your mods.
The second folder would be "BetterFarmAnimalVariety". That's the unofficial update to BFAV, and it's the one you should keep.

Besides what Pillow pointed out already, you can remove PlatoK, you don't have anything that depends on it.

And, your Ring Overhaul mod is conflicting with Modular Game Overhaul. Check the configs for the two mods, you'll need to choose between the two for the changes made to the Glow Ring.
That's more accurate, the current save file I'm playing is a new one, but even in previous save files I struggle to get anywhere or anything done....I could try again once more
Hello! Don't know if this is a known issue, but I'm playing with SVE and the other needed mods along with a friend. When he tries to donate stuff on the museum, or build farm buildings at Robin's, his mouse glitches and won't move anymore until he restarts the game. But then, he restarts the game, and when he joins, he can't see his character, he turns invisible 
and it won't fix until the host restarts too, it happens way too often
We're going to need a log from both of you to make sure there's no funny business happening in smapi

I don't quite think you should be using an old mode anyway, but i'm guessing what that means is you can't uninstall the mod afterwards even with error handler
It just means that if you use this with modded crops, you'll be able to walk through trellis crops even after you remove the mod.

Mod crashed on loading-normally I would think something got mis-installed but that's a base android SMAPI mod
Reinstall android smapi and see if that works. If not,remove the cjb mods and see if the crash to virtual keyboard still happens

If you’re modding a switch, it’s probably a good idea to learn how to repack XNBs
This is Elle's Seasonal Buildings and her barn and coop animal retextures, being used with Vibrant Pastoral Recolour. I'm not sure if they were ever released as xnb mods tho. They're all for Content Patcher

But if you’re on a switch, you’ll have to do a lot of manual work making things work together

As for the first question, if you want to use Stardrop's mod group feature, then yes, you have to launch through stardrop every time. Otherwise, the game will simply pick your entire mods folder. If you don't want to launch through stardrop every time, you can have mod groups another way

sorry, nevermind, apparently the error had to do with an option of gamepad mode being on 'auto detect', setting it to 'force off' fixed it. No idea, it hadn't happened before using mods, so we assumed it was something related to them

Again,if i'm right, then essentially it means your stardew or smapi is basically hogging your computer memory in such a way that your computer starts losing its ability to run it well
You can probs check this by having task manager open while you play
If your mem usage is too high, modded will stop functioning well and eventually you'll get an out of memory exception and it will crash

There is a new mod that mixes all of the Immersive mods together, but I don't think it's a good idea to install mid playthrough and that it's in beta atm if I remember correctly.

Unequipping my rings makes it an invisible ring with no effects. I can throw it away and it doesn't reappear when I check the forge again.
So.. something odd happened. I took Wear More Rings out of my mod list and when I loaded in, all my rings are gone, but the combined ring is in my inventory now at the start of the day.

So I have Vortex (with only SNAPI) installed. I don't use Vortex at all. 0 mods. I use Stardrop for everything. I'm creating new playthrough with a ton of mods, thus I haven't started a save file, but I start Stardrop/SMAPI to of course fix any issues.
Long story short, I'm getting errors installing mods from this one author I didn't use to get when I used Vortex before factory resetting a fully using Stardrop. Anyways, with this author when I click the easy download button to go to Stardrop ---> it gives an error. I check the actual mod folder. There's nothing in there but a random manifest.json. I copy and pasted the Stardrop log because I figured why get a SMAPI log if I know literally nothing is in that folder.
So, I really wanted this mod. I just did it the old fashioned way of manually unzipping it and dragging and dropping it into the mods folder. And, btw, it had all the assets. Not just a random empty folder with a manifest.

Stardrop relies on the nexus api if you’re hitting “mod manager download”
I don’t know exactly how either of these works but it wouldn’t be horribly surprising to me if one of the steps in that pathway went weird
It might be like “ok, this one mod was zipped with 7zip, which sets this one weird property that messes with this one random piece of code”

No I literally download SMAPI and have 12 mods folders I manually swap in and out
It becomes clockwork after awhile.

I’m a pro at folder management, I meticulously organize all my files for work already

now I'm confused. Everyone was recommending Stardrop ... now it's manual.
Stardrop for a mod manager if you really insist on using one. But manual installation will always be the preferred method.
Plus, if your mod count is less than 500, personally I don't really see much use for a mod manager.

Some people really want a mod manager because they don't enjoy filing things away or they aren't as comfortable with file management systems

I really tried to get to a nice setup with 400+ mods, or even 500+. But I don't understand how you have so many accumulated. Unless you dive into sounds mods / tmxl/ custom stuff

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

Just wanted to check on the off chance that it does break something, but there shouldn't be any consequences to making a new Mods folder and switching them out, right? Like, If I wanted SVE on one save file, and Reimagined on another, it'd be fine so long as I don't open my SVE save file?

I have a mod that retextures the junimo hut and another that retextures the chest but if i walk into the community center or any npc house with chest the vannilla texture will still be their anyway to replace them?

Unless I'm mistaken, the Community Center Junimo Hut and the actual building Junimo Hut come from two separate tilesheets
probably the same if the NPC house has a chest, as I don't think any vanilla one has a chest, so the chest tilesheet would be from a separate mod
you'd have to target those somehow with your particular mod

it'll have the tilesheets it's using within it
i need to convert my kingdom hearts rug mod i did a while back to dga.
it uses custom furniture i just haven't added it to this folder yet

There is a version of content patcher on nexus that is specifically for Android, I believe it's v1.9, please make sure you use that and not the latest version.

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
Lookup anything doesn't have any compat with any DGA items
In the sense that looking up DGA items says "weeds" for everything

will it break the game if i change to JA version without starting a new game? if no, do i need to delete all items that was obtained from the DGA mod before changing to JA?
It’s best to delete all DGA items but as long as you leave DGA installed (without content packs) it should clean up at least a little bit
Next version of Interaction Tweaks will hopefully prevent some recursive schedule issues

Hi all! Trying to get group mods working on my Mac. I've followed the wiki instructions to create different group folders in the proper location, but every time I run the executable, it defaults to the original mod folder and not the new one I've set up. Sorry if this is an old or already answered question!
Idk if those instructions actually work, I just rename my mods folders as needed
I’m too lazy to actually debug the instructions but you’re like the 5th person I’ve seen report something like this

For anyone using Female Farmer overhaul, I've downloaded the mod but the body in-game is still deafult? I've tried removing all other cosemtic/clothing mods just in case they interfered but still no change. Nothing's showing up in my log either so I'm confused. I don't have any conflicting body mods
try finding it in other folders because if you placed it in another mod folder it might not activate
